Lovely hotel just south of Dublin. Staff was great and bed was comfortable. We ate in the restaurant that is part of the hotel and food was good. Highly recommend thia hotel. Important to note that rooms are in aecond floor and there is no elevator.

What a cool property. Alan was a terrific host and the property had so much charm. Live music in the pub at night and they taught me how to poor a Guinness. Highly recommend.

The Horse & Hound was a lovely historic stay for our 1st night in Ireland. The food at the restaurant was very good, (especially the blackberry & apple crumble). Convenient off street parking. The only complaint we had, (and not the property's fault), was that we were exhausted from the travel and 6 hour time difference, and the beer garden on a Saturday night just outside our window wasn't really helpful for getting a good night's sleep. If you are up for a good party, you would probably enjoy the property more than two exhausted Americans on their first night on "the emerald isle."

Really cool place. Clean room with nice amenities. No breakfast but coffee, tea and cookies. Also great bakery right next door. Restaurant was closed on Monday but had a great meal on patio. Great bar as well.

The staff failed to inform us that there would be construction going on EARLY in the morning hours. We woke at 4am to workers getting ready and 7am to saws and hammers going. This was directly across from us. They should have at minimum put us down the hall further. Also, shower did not work properly and flooded the bathroom.

Stayed in Room 1. The bathroom was ridiculously small. Tap on the sink was hanging off. Shower is impossible to get in and out of unless you are a child. There was no way to turn down the heat in our room, so we were uncomfortably too warm all night and had difficulty sleeping. The shower and sink were incredibly slow to drain, so you ended up with a sink full of water before you finished washing your hands or brushing your teeth, and in the shower you constantly sloshed water onto the floor. The only accessible plug without moving the bed was high up on the wall where the TV is mounted, but there was an active roof leak running down the wall, so we couldn't use that plug. The people were very kind and welcoming... we just had a bad room experience.

Nice spacious room with en-suite . The room was very comfortable and clean and was well maintained. It is a pity that breakfast is not available as it was a nuisance having to leave for food. Otherwise a very nice stay.

Das Zimmer war SEHR klein. Bett und Schlafraum waren noch ok, aber das Badezimmer eine Frechheit. Auf dem WC sitzend hat man die Knie DIREKT an der Tür und kann sich nicht mehr bewegen. Zur Dusche gab es eine Stufe die im Weg ist und zur Stolperfalle wird. Dusche eng, aber abgesehen vom Schimmel ok. Man kommt nur nicht wieder raus! Sorry aber für das Geld habe ich in Irland schon viel besser geschlafen! Die Bettwäche roch muffig. Evtl. Länger nicht genutzt. Staub auf dem Schrank, Bettbezug kaputt. Das Bett für 2 ok, aber auch eher klein. Das Zimmer ist abgewohnt. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.

Excellent restaurant and even better pub! The general overseer, Marc, offered excellent customer service. One area needing improvement: housekeeping. There seemed to be a shortage of staff. In general the HnH was located in the center of everything we wanted to do in Wicklow Mts

The room pictured that we thought we were getting was nothing like the one we got. Ours was so small. We were very uncomfortable. No room for our luggage, not enough plugs, not enough counter space. Bathroom was the smallest I’ve ever encountered.

This is a lovely traditional country inn in a beautiful area. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed because the staff is just fantastic! We arrived late on a busy Saturday evening and were taken care of immediately. We chose to eat in the pub where Annika, Alan and Sam went above and beyond to look after us. The food is great, the room was great, the staff was great times ten. I sincerely hope to be able to stay there again.

This is a fantastic place to stay, staff was beyond helpful. We arrived well before checkin and the let us have our room. Found a cab for us when we had trouble. Parking is a plus, food was really good. Cool place to stay.

All I can say is wow! We just checked out of this place today and loved every single thing. The staff was phenomenal - very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The room was beautiful and the area was quaint. We visited the bar a few times and had consistently great service. I recommend booking a room here and I would definitely return if the chance arises. Also, the bed was super comfortable! Thank you Horse and Hound for an amazing experience.

I really enjoyed our stay here, the room was clean and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant in the hotel and our meal was fantastic, the staff were so friendly and helpful and we enjoyed chatting with Mark who helped us choose from the menu etc. The front bar had a traditional music night and the bar was full, the craic was mighty. The village is beautiful and we stopped off for a drink in the Wicklow Arms which is also a lovely place. I definitely intend to stay here again, it's so handy to Dublin city yet so rural and pretty. Highly recommended S.

Owners were super nice Kevin loves sports of all kind, which made for some conversation. Food was outstanding, best pasta dish I had on this trip, which included a week in Italy. Location is perfect for site seeing.

This was our first time in Europe and it was for our wedding anniversary. We love the restaurant below the rooms as well as the location. The street was very quiet at night and the TV had many available channels. Overall a very pleasant stay!

It was an extremely wonderful place to stay. The rooms were quite lovely right on the property is a bar and restaurant. Fish and chips were good. Very tasty.

Great pub food! They didn’t serve breakfast but the Bear Paw right next door had GREAT take away breakfast sandwiches and excellent coffee. Be warned…the sandwiches are huge! We didn’t need lunch.

Staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Food in the pub was fantastic (seafood chowder & bread, summer risotto), and the atmosphere was just what you’d want and expect in an Irish pub. Room was lovely, great bed and pillows so slept very well, room very clean. Lots of car parking space, and the village very lovely.

Really cool place. Clean room with nice amenities. No breakfast but coffee, tea and cookies. Also great bakery right next door. Restaurant was closed on Monday but had a great meal on patio. Great bar as well.

NOT a gastropub, typical pub grub but well-cooked, especially breakfast , .Serving staff were great and very helpful, but management was very complacent. The room was tiny, no bedside lights ,so we had to get out of bed to switch them off. Television didn't work, apparently the previous two sets of occupants had complained. The information both on the bedside table and in the folder was incorrect, there were no leaflets providing suggestions for things to see locally. I would categorise this as lions led by donkeys.

Wonderful place. Really clean room, comfy bed. There is noise from the pub but they do turn it down at 10 (and it seemed at 11). It is in a residential area so they are considerate to neighbours and guests.

Horse and Hounds a pub with accommodation. So it is a pub with bedrooms that surround the "outside" drinking area. A quiet stay is unlikely.... but hey. A comfortable bed, little cramped bathroom facilities. Big drawback...... No Aircon so for cooler air you have to open windows and listen to the conversations of many happy relaxed drinkers.... or the busy street noise. The staff were very friendly and helpful.... Aircon is a must...... please.

Nice rooms, amazing breakfast and very good service! A nice terrace in the back where you can just take a pint and sit and talk. We enjoyed our stay so much!
