Fairfield Inn & Suites By Marriott Duluth Waterfront

Great stay! Clean, good breakfast, nice gym. Hotel is by the Marina that due to the time of year is not up and running, so it looks a bit unkept, which is not the fault of the hotel. Recommend an upper, Bayside room.

The hotel was great but the pool was tiny. The exterior photos are very misleading. The hotel is next to a boat yard and the view is industrial.

Parking was very poor and remote and inlit in way back.

The hotel seems quite new. It is a nice place. The pool is small and there's no hot tub, butt the fitness room is nice and modern. Breakfast was quite extensive, with oatmeal, waffles, eggs, hash browns, sausage, bagels, fruit, etc.

This is a nice, quiet, smaller property that we really enjoyed. The only downside: the parking is a little confusing.

You share the facility with RV's on the property so makes for some limited parking if out a little later in the evening.

We would stay here again - it was very, very clean. We liked the location right on the marina, just over the lift bridge and close to canal park and the beach. The staff were friendly and efficient. We wished there was a hot tub. The pool was very chilly. It felt unusually cool for a hotel pool. We tried to acclimate but it was uncomfortably cold. Not a big deal! We appreciated the breakfast selection. Overall very nice for a quick family weekend in Duluth.

Only one elevator at this property- are you kidding me? Of course, it broke down and was out for our entire stay. Had to take our entire luggage rack for my entire family up (and down) the stairs. Complained, but absolutely no consideration. Thanks for nothing.

Quiet, clean,

The room was spacious, the breakfast was lovely (waffles, eggs, sausage patties), and the gym was appreciated! My only issue was the cleanliness. The room and bedding itself were clean. But, when we asked for housekeeping we noticed they only replaced the towels and made the bed. The bedding wasn't changed out, there were clear crumbs that hadn't been wiped or vacuumed, and they left some old towels sitting in the room.

There were cards under the air conditioner from a previous stay. When the air conditioner came on we all started sneezing. We took the filter out and it was full of dust and grime

Nice quiet stay. The room was huge and very clean.

Everything was excellent with the exception of the dirty pair of men\'s underwear my wife and I discovered in a dark corner of the room. I\'m still going to rate it as "excellent" though because the "grundies" blended right in with the carpet.

The elevator smelled like urine, our toilet wasn’t clean and we had to ask for a shower mat. But staff was excellent and this is the first time I've ever had a reason to complain about a Marriott.

When pulling back the sheets lots of long black hair in the bed. Wondered it the sheets were changed.

Worst night sleep ever! Beds are horrible, and the hotel way over priced. Would stay here again for anything

The view was great room was big with plenty of room to move around and in a great location with great views

I thought for the price the room was a little small, and you can hear the neighbors pretty easily. With that being said, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows made sleep come easy. The room was very clean as was the rest of the building. Shower and bathroom were nice. Wish there were double sinks because my wife hogged the only one. We didn’t eat the breakfast because we went out both mornings we were there. Also didn’t use any of the other amenities.

My only disappointment was we paid for a harbor view and most of the view was parking lot and small portion of the harbor. Little bit misrepresented.

First I'd like to point out that they shouldn't charge you for "Harbor View" if they put you in a room within the first half of the building. Because you actually don't have a harbor view. I wish expedia had a way for me to post the pics I took, but those first rooms on that side where the "habor" begins is just the dock, which is small and almost looked sketchy. It looked like where the mob would get rid of people, you know. I'm not saying that sort of activity was going on, but that's what the view will bring to mind. It's a cluttered, small, frozen dock area, which was annoying and disappointing when you get there, because you're expecting a HARBOR VIEW! as advertised. If you lie down in one of the beds, and kinda tilt your head a certain way, yes you will get a partial harbor view, until your neck can't stand it anymore. Or you can go to the window, press your face up against the glass, turn left, and yes, there's your harbor view. There's the extra $$ i paid for it, LOL The pool when I checked in, water was warm, and it wasn't too crowed. When I came back about an hour later, it wasn't as warm, and then came the kids. Once they all checked in, it was swarming with screeching children. If you're traveling alone, too bad for you, there's another amenity you won't be getting. But ok Fairfield Inn, I'll give you these 2 positives. I did use the gym, so glad i could get a workout in. And the staff was friendly, very customer service oriented, much appreciated.

One of the most uncomfortable hotel beds I’ve ever had. Hard as a rock. Pillows were flat. Couch was a rock as well. My back hurts.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. They have platform beds with no box spring. We had a really hard time sleeping. The beds were very uncomfortable. Such a nice place, I would have expected much nicer beds.

The rep that checked us out was not professional and was quite rude. There was a guest before us that had a conflict. She projected her frusterations and emotions onto us.

Not a bad thing to say about this property and the people that work there. Very accommodating for my wife and daughter who had just had surgery. They listened to what was taking place and what the need is and provided perfect solutions and service. Hands down the best experience every time I have stayed here while in Duluth.

very clean and the staff was very nice. The GM checked us in on Thursday afternoon and was back this morning ridding up the breakfast area. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there the next time we visit Duluth. The breakfast was awesome.

The ladies at the front desk are so kind and helpful, especially the red head with curly hair! The young gentleman that was at the desk also was very kind and helpful!. They were so sweet and we will for sure be back. They made sure our stay was pleasant! Even with some rude hockey kids acting like fools. They were still patience and kind.

Nothing special about this place; unfriendly and unavailable staff. Stayed at The Inn a couple of months ago and had they had a room available, would have gone back there again. Will definitely book at The Inn much earlier next year, as they have wonderful customer service, much better breakfasts, and more amenities for their guests! This was my 2nd stay at a Mariott, and won't waste my money booking w/them again!

Everything was good except for one very rude employee. We had a couple very simple questions at the front desk and were treated like imbeciles. She should not be a customer facung employee. Everyone else was great but this experience did put a damper on things. It's our second time back and we'd consider going back. Overall clean and pleasant place. The free breakfast is one of the best we've had.

This was a perfect place to stay for a quick weekend getaway to Duluth. Quieter and more affordable than staying on the Canal yet still within walking distance to the area and close to lift bridge and the beach. The room was comfortable, clean and fit our needs perfect. We would definitely stay here again

A very nice hotel clean and quiet. It’s over the draw bridge so you need to drive to eat or shop.

The location was great. We walked across the bridge to explore that area and dinner. It felt very safe walking back at 8pm. More information about the walkability and the aerial bridge would have been useful. It was much more accessible than I had seen online. Good breakfast and easy access to the highway when leaving to go on up the north shore

Charming location overlooking the marina, but the traffic going in and out is really bad, and the chances of being stuck when the deck of the bridge is raised for boat traffic are pretty high. The room was decent but not exceptional. Pillow quality was mediocre. No sheers on the windows. Don't expect maid service, even if you reserve for two or three nights. The new policy is maid service every three nights, and we were not told about it upon check-in. Looks like Marriott is cutting their costs this way....

Great hotel on the water. Fantastic for viewing the fire works on July 4. Walkable to great shops and dining

Nice hotel, very clean, located on the marina. It is within walking distance of the bridge, museum, park and welcome center, and the restaurants. However, it is several blocks away from the bridge, approximately 1/2 mile. It is pretty dark in the area at night..

A good alternative to staying in Canal Park itself. Easy walk to all the attractions.

Was listed as in canal park but was over bridge. Walking to main area for shops and restaurants too far and via dark sidewalks in rough shape. No room cleanup. Had to go to front desk for toilet paper. And not advertised as cut rate. Disappointed.

All was good, but we both got sick after eating the breakfast. Think it was the “scrambled eggs” which was more like an omlette

They have plenty of foods for breakfast but most of them were cold, it's obvious that they were pre-made, supplied by vendors, it would've been nice if they heated them up before they put them out, I was so excited when I saw they had oatmeal, but when I was about to eat it, it was so cold, it's not even room temperature, that really bothered me a lot, and I didn't feel safe to eat their food anymore. Front desk staff and maintenance were very nice!

The hotel is lovely and clean. The breakfast was good but both mornings the food ran out and we all waited for everything from eggs to coffee. It wasn't that crowded, there just lacked service personel.

Nice hotel near Canal Park in Duluth. Clean and friendly staff. Breakfast was a little lacking; many items were gone even though there was still 30 minutes (and it was a Monday).
