Ivy City Hotel

Room was very simple but clean. No amenities. Parking was included. Not the best area.

I picked this hotel because of its free in and out parking privileges and 2 Queen sized beds. The reception staff were friendly and helped me with map and directions. What I didn’t like was room smelled a little musty at first but once AC was turned on, it was Ok. I didn’t like rust on the bath tub and on the towel rack which came off on one of the towels. The motel room was clean with fridge, microwave and coffee brewer. The bed was comfortable. They only gave 2 bath towels and rags no face towels even though we booked the room for 2 adults and a teenager child and we had to ask for another towel. There was one sliding door to separate bathroom but it would have been better to have a door between toilet and shower so someone could use the sink while someone in shower. It was Ok for a one night stay.

The Hotel truly is more of a motel style establishment. OWNERS SHOULD THINK ABOUT CLEANING THE A/C FILTERS TO HELP ALEVIATE THE SMELL OF SMOKERS . UNITS PULL AIR FROM OUTSIDE AND MOST GUEST SMOKE NEAR THE UNITS WHILE STANDING OUTSIDE. While its not near to much of anything it is cheap fairly clean and quiet. There is a shopping center within blocks with target and a few other shops. Great for people traveling since its close to major DMV travel routes. Beds were clean but matresses are worn and need replacing. You have to request room cleaning the day before. Bathrooms could use a bit more deep cleaning along with walls (random smears and chipped paint) its gated with security and 24 hour desk service. The laundry is outside near the ice machine and the washer is broken. The vending machine next to the main entraince is empty save for pea it bars and flavored waffers. There is also a soda machine next to the entrance but unsure if it was stocked since i didnt need to buy anything. Check in was easy. $50 additional refundable fee along with another random fee that drops off a day or so afyer check in. Booking on hotels app my charges were 620 for 4 nights . I was charged 670 at check in and signed the reciept but noticed 805 pending on my bank statement. The final charge was 670 and im waiting on my $50 to be refunded. I will update once it happens.

Parking was easy and secure. The staff was very helpful. They allowed us to check in early!

The staff were very nice and helpful. The vending machines were broken. No restaurants in the area, but there was a target close by. The buses ran limited stops. Good price.

Value for money with great parking options. Facility is clean and tidy. Didn't clean my room during 3 day stay. Staff is polite and supportive.

Don’t let the name fool you. It is not a hotel or inn, it’s a motel. Room was dirty, all the walls had stains, microwave was nasty. Sheets were worn and had tears/holes. We couldn’t use the washer outside because the door was completely broken off. Smoke free facility but room smells of smoke. Sketchy area to stay, unhoused individual on the corner by gas station, so didn’t feel safe walking in the area. The front office person was rude when I asked to change rooms because the next day we found out the shower drain was completely clogged. Maintenance and housekeeping staff were good. I’d say the Motel 6 is probably a better option.

No clothes hangers in the room. No iron. No ironing board.

The staff was amazing but that’s about it. Beds are barely a step above sleeping on concrete, pillows had no support. Our bathroom shower curtain had a black hand print on it, some towels had black smudges across them. Also heard screaming from down the road all hours of the night.

The room they gave me was very dirty and it smelled a lot of marijuana the bathroom curtain had mold and the bed sheet had a horrible stain, I talked to the manager and he went with me to check the bed and the smell of marijuana and he kindly changed me of room.

Garbage. The beds were dirty and uncleaned. The bathroom still had diarrhea from the previous person who stayed. The room smelled. Everything can be heard, including the streets which made it impossible to sleep at night. The room was changed three times but it was still in disgusting/absolutely deplorable condition. Left immediately.

Asked the front desk to ask that housekeeping resolve some things bc the room wasn’t cleaned properly. Nothing was done. When asked for clean towels and sheets to handle myself, front desk personnel responded very unprofessional and rude. Door looked as though it had been shot up and patched up… crackheads on property selling themselves and having arguments after. Just disgusting on all levels

I did like that the hotel was small and the amenities. I needed the WiFi for work and the Roku TV was a nice touch. I didn’t like the cleanliness of the room. I wiped down the door handle, refrigerator and bathroom walls and the wipes became a dark color with dirt. There was a strong odor of cigarettes as well, I had to spray my air freshener multiple times. Lastly, the sheets, shower curtain, towels, and sheets all had stains on them. Those need to be replaced, not washed. Overall for a last minute one night stay, it was sufficient but I wouldn’t stay here again. :(

Very dirty! Everywhere. There was mold in the kettle! Unpleasant smell in the room and poor ventilation. Stains on the towels and a frozen freezer in the refrigerator, so it did not turn off and worked constantly. We wanted to see Washington, but not this horror. My child and I were there for 6 nights and I really regret that I chose this hotel.

The WiFi was terrible - they need to upgrade WiFi asap Clean rooms but everything just feels a bit dated and old, but that's what you pay for.

Noisy interior

This is motel, not hotel. It’s located nearby the road, therefore extremely noisy in the room. No possible to sleep

No Cleanliness No hot water Temperature for AC was set to 72 so you feel hot in this summer

It does the job, it was clean but we had three little pillows on our bed. The rooms are not well isolated and you can hear traffic and the train all night. There was people playing with water guns, running in and out of their bedroom into the parking lot. I wish someone would have managed the situation.

Booked this last minute while visiting DC and the photos looked wayyy better than in person. Also smelled like a smokers room. We were so tired from driving that we didn’t care to do anything at this point but so gutted and disgusted. I was itching all night sleeping in the bed and it was rock hard. The floors were so dirty, I’ve stayed at old hotels before but they’re at least kept clean you can tell they do a bad job cleaning. It’s basically a motel but the name is deceiving

Room was great, but the walls where very thin. We could hear people telling from across the street.

Must havé betteraves cleaning. Also, a lot of noise in the area.

Smoking smell everywhere

The internet speeds were TRASH. 128kbps in 2025. TWENTY TWENTY FIVE.

At check in they were arguing with customers ahead of us. When it was our turn they were not friendly. They were rude. Then on day 2 they were cutting wood and stuff right outside of our hotel window at 8 am. We left at 2 hours over at 5:15 and our check out was not until 11 am on Friday. Worst service. No refunds either.

Staff was great, accommodate our refund request. Hotel was typical motel, some permanent stains on the floor. Location its not the best one, quite scary especially at night.

The guy at the front desk doesn’t speak English and took forever to find my reservation going through. Hotels.com is very difficult for him to find the reservation. The shower had a very dirty mat. The bed wasn’t that comfortable, and there are zero food options at all, so if you’re flying in late at night, you’re completely stuck. There’s no water at the front desk or food.

Outstanding Customer service Lobby guys are Great specially the guy who covers morning shift until 3pm hands on !

Staff at the check in were very rude to my friend as well as another customer that was before me. Rude comments from the staff. Not wanting to let the customer explain the issue at hand.

This place is definitely a scam. The pictures are great so kudos to the photographer, but it is a poorly refurbished motel with a new coat of paint. The bed had stained sheets and the room was not as pictured. It is also not in a great area. I did not feel safe and did not stay the night.

The room that we stayed in was average, but on the bathroom there was a leak on the ceiling that flooded the floor. That eventually stopped but the floor stayed wet. It was really noisy outside by traffic and people staying there. Also it’s quite far from the nearest Metro station, half a hour walking. So be prepared to walk for that.

You’re not in a great part of town. Once the sun goes down it seems this establishment becomes a parking lot party. Very noisy into the morning hours. No pets allowed but there were def multiple dogs in units barking all night. Refrigerator didn’t work so our food we brought home for dinner was wasted and it was very disappointing. Iron was spitting out white powdery residue and ruined my purple blouse. Surrounding area wasn’t the best. I understand it’s a city but lots of homeless presence. Also near the train tracks, so on top of the parking lot party you’ll hear that all night as well (that doesn’t bother me as much but should be known if you’re light sleepers) overall I will not be booking this hotel again.

Gas station and target all in walking distance...called the hotel tat morning to let them know we gonna be a late check in...still charged the room for one night but credit back the next day. Didnt know we had to pay a $50 security deposit up front. Did get back at checkout. Other then that had a good experience

The hotel it self is really nice, recently renovated and the staff is great. The location is good in terms of the stores and restaurants around. The neighborhood is not the safest at night, the price was good and the hotel serve us well.

Very nice staff. Very close to downtown and sites.less than 4 miles. Downside was AC was set to go no lower than 68 degrees. All restaurants charge a delivery fee and min charge and min delivery time is an hour.

No breakfast

Property passes itself for a hotel but is actually a motel. No dining facilities. No restaurants nearby. Heavy road traffic is noisy. Office staff is courteous.

It was super clean room and very comfy bed. Next to Target , TJ Max, Goodwill. Parking was the bonus. I am glad I went there.

Great price for the 4 days! Very friendly staff. Needs to have the thermostat working, both did not work. The detail of dirt on floors needed work. Pleasantly happy with having a small fridge and microwave! When we asked for iron and towels it was fast service! Great location except for the homeless walking through on our last night screaming outside our windows at 1am. I was in a deep sleep until then. Not sure what else you could do about it. Love being next to target and McDonald’s! Thank you for the great value on 4 nights. Need my receipt that I asked the gentleman to send me. I left my email.

There is a Target one block away so it is easy to get essentials.
