Very unique setting and facility was nice. Virtual no service though. No coffee in the morning. you are completely on your own. Only talked to owners twice and only to say hello. If you want seclusion and privacy, it was great.

beautiful home with the upstairs turned into 3 rooms with bathrooms for rent. The place lost a star due to bad water pressure, but it was a great place to sleep.

I don’t know how this got a hotel listing, it’s just a room with little privacy. Hard to find and not allowed access except the upstairs of a house. I guess it’s a B&B but there are no amenities.

I thought I had pulled into the wrong location, left and came back after verifying the directions. It’s all self check-in which I wasn’t expecting…The directions are printed on the door… When you enter the log cabin the downstairs living room is blocked off off which forces you upstairs where there are three separate bedrooms your name will be on one of the doors. Yes, as others have stated it is a bit musty smelling but the rooms are lovely, no TV but you do have a separate bathroom and a cozy cottage room for the evening. If you happen to meet the owner, her English is broken, but she is a very sweet lady. The property is beautiful and nested in the redwoods and is a gem. they have a lovely garden and a chicken coop with geese and ducks and rosebushes surrounding the yard. I believe the owners live downstairs, but out of sight for the most part. When I go back? Definitely! now that I know what to expect. Not sure why there are negative reviews. it is different, but it’s also a nice change. Remember to thank the owners (if you’re lucky enough to meet them) for sharing their home with you.

It was a nice home feel in a cabin in the woods. Quiet, other than being able to hear other people throught the cabin. You can lock your room while your in there but if you leave you cant lock it behind you. Parking was a little tight but manageable. Comfortable bed and couch in the room. No tv due to the open sound throughout the cabin. Overall it was a nice stay.

This property has tremendous potential, and perhaps before the pandemic, this was a sweet bed and breakfast. Our stay was safe, but we left swiftly in the morning. There was no hot water, so we could not shower. Although the log home is stunning structurally, it is sadly peppered with an eclectic collection of dusty nick nacks and silk flower clumps. The property has piles of flee market finds and old toys scattered along the side of the home. The owners do not allow guests to be in any of the home’s common areas, although the rooms have patio areas to use outside.

Things you should know before going in (it threw us off): -you won’t meet the host. It’s kind of like an Airbnb but you don’t check in through an app or anything. -it’s a single lane dirt road coming in and out -if you stay in the room with a patio, make sure to find the key to the patio door. We couldn’t find it until we left -it’s a rustic little thing. Kind of like staying at your grandmas house. There’s some spider webs, rust, weird smells, creepy corners, and best of all, there’s a rooster that wakes you up at 4am. The weird smell came from the shower which smelled kinda of moldy. -you’re sharing the top floor with 2 other parties. No access to the first floor Overall, it was okay for our one night stay. The view in the morning was beautiful and it smelled SO GOOD. That was the highlight of the whole stay.

We couldn't stay in this cabin due to the musty old smelling oder. Although it had high ceilings, the air was stagnant. I would not recommend it to anyone. My husband and i were looking forward to a relaxing experience in the Redwoods. The facility has three upstairs guest rooms, the room we booked had its private bathroom with walk-in shower. There was a coffee area outside of the bedrooms. It had a large shared living room and front porch, but cannot comment on the rest of the house since we couldn't remain inside due to the smell. There were several area rugs stacked on each othere that appeared old, most likely the cause of the musty smell. This could be a very nice family getaway, but first needs deep cleaning and getting rid of rugs! I can't comment on bedding, since we didn't stay.

There is a reason no photos are on the Hotels.com website. Dirty, cobwebs, spiders, carpets were large throw rugs put together and NOT vacuumed. We will not stay here again.

I just want people to be aware because the photos are deceiving you’re only renting one room and don’t have access to the rest of the house. There was dried cat poop on the bathroom rug there were spiderwebs all along the ceiling and a spider in the bed when we moved the covers also there is a rooster or two on the property and they start crowing at about 4 am. I just want folks to know this so they can make their own informed decisions when looking for a place

We truly appreciated the spaciousness and quirky character of our room. Having a private washroom and shower was a definite plus—though the bathroom did have a few less-than-charming surprises. The shower had a fair amount of mold, and the sink appeared to be clogged with what could only be described as the remnants of someone’s entire beard. Not exactly the kind of souvenir one hopes to find upon check-in. Our booking was through Expedia, which stated we’d receive a door code or entry instructions on the day of arrival. With check-in listed between 4:00 p.m. and midnight, we expected clear directions. However, by 7:00 p.m., with still no information, we called the property owner and were told to “just walk in and look for our name on the door.” While functional, this method felt a bit unconventional—especially as we made our way down a dark, wooded dirt road, convincing ourselves this wasn’t the beginning of a horror movie. Once inside, the home was warm and “homie,” with the décor bordering on museum-like thanks to the abundance of trinkets (including a vintage child’s crib, which added both charm and a touch of eeriness). Unfortunately this house looked nice from the photos but did not turn out to be the best option. The location was convenient getting to the trailheads but the house did not smell the best and the complimentary snacks were very stale and tasted like cardboard.

If you are looking for zero (literally zero) interaction with the hosts and a place in the middle of nowhere, this is your place. Bed was like sleeping on a piece of plywood and the gaps in the walls meant you could hear everyone else staying there. I would not stay there again

This is a Logcabin House. You are renting a room with an attached bath (shower) The rooms are nice and clean. The Staff and Service, section I left blank, there was no staff that we interacted with nor any service. You park, go in and find your name on the door and that is your room. there is a key to the door hanging in the room. There are convenient notes around to give you directions. There is a list of restaurants, and the best gas station to use. It was very quiet and the temperature was good with the windows open.

It’s a very warming place to stay, you will enjoy it if you are looking for a cozy place. Some areas are a little dusty. I loved the decoration :)
It’s a very warming place to stay, you will enjoy it if you are looking for a cozy place. Some areas are a little dusty. I loved the decoration :)

Things you should know before going in (it threw us off): -you won’t meet the host. It’s kind of like an Airbnb but you don’t check in through an app or anything. -it’s a single lane dirt road coming in and out -if you stay in the room with a patio, make sure to find the key to the patio door. We couldn’t find it until we left -it’s a rustic little thing. Kind of like staying at your grandmas house. There’s some spider webs, rust, weird smells, creepy corners, and best of all, there’s a rooster that wakes you up at 4am. The weird smell came from the shower which smelled kinda of moldy. -you’re sharing the top floor with 2 other parties. No access to the first floor Overall, it was okay for our one night stay. The view in the morning was beautiful and it smelled SO GOOD. That was the highlight of the whole stay.

More of an air b&b situation with a self check in. Fabulous for self sufficient people. The hosts left notes, a list of local restaurants, and a number to text if we needed things. Clean and kitchy, like staying at your grandparents place. Very cozy and comfy. We hope to come back.

We arrived and called to see if we could check in a bit early. They said cleaners were there and to hang out they would let us know. There was no one there and we never got a call back. It was super creepy and odd there. Would not recommend. We lost our money and had to get another place that night.

We truly appreciated the spaciousness and quirky character of our room. Having a private washroom and shower was a definite plus—though the bathroom did have a few less-than-charming surprises. The shower had a fair amount of mold, and the sink appeared to be clogged with what could only be described as the remnants of someone’s entire beard. Not exactly the kind of souvenir one hopes to find upon check-in. Our booking was through Expedia, which stated we’d receive a door code or entry instructions on the day of arrival. With check-in listed between 4:00 p.m. and midnight, we expected clear directions. However, by 7:00 p.m., with still no information, we called the property owner and were told to “just walk in and look for our name on the door.” While functional, this method felt a bit unconventional—especially as we made our way down a dark, wooded dirt road, convincing ourselves this wasn’t the beginning of a horror movie. Once inside, the home was warm and “homie,” with the décor bordering on museum-like thanks to the abundance of trinkets (including a vintage child’s crib, which added both charm and a touch of eeriness). Overall, this property isn’t a bad choice. It’s quirky, adventurous, and better suited to younger couples, road trippers, or backpackers looking for a unique story to tell along the way.

We arrived to the property but the gate was closed. I called the cabin and they said they had a pipe burst and had to cancel. They never cancelled on their end and I still haven’t received a refund. Horrible customer service. They sounded angry when I called and didn’t offer any support/advice on where else to can sleep for the night.

Incredibly rude owner and staff. The booking didn’t lost no dogs—when we showed up they refused to let us stay. The verbally said they would refund us for the mix up and then never did. They are money hungry and rude. Hotels.com was just as rude and money hungry.

I didn’t care for the property at all. He’s too hard to find down a dirt road with no indication of where the place was. The entry sign said private property no trespassing.

I thought I had pulled into the wrong location, left and came back after verifying the directions. It’s all self check-in which I wasn’t expecting…The directions are printed on the door… When you enter the log cabin the downstairs living room is blocked off off which forces you upstairs where there are three separate bedrooms your name will be on one of the doors. Yes, as others have stated it is a bit musty smelling but the rooms are lovely, no TV but you do have a separate bathroom and a cozy cottage room for the evening. If you happen to meet the owner, her English is broken, but she is a very sweet lady. The property is beautiful and nested in the redwoods and is a gem. they have a lovely garden and a chicken coop with geese and ducks and rosebushes surrounding the yard. I believe the owners live downstairs, but out of sight for the most part. When I go back? Definitely! now that I know what to expect. Not sure why there are negative reviews. it is different, but it’s also a nice change. Remember to thank the owners (if you’re lucky enough to meet them) for sharing their home with you.

Very unique setting and facility was nice. Virtual no service though. No coffee in the morning. you are completely on your own. Only talked to owners twice and only to say hello. If you want seclusion and privacy, it was great.

Unfortunately this house looked nice from the photos but did not turn out to be the best option. The location was convenient getting to the trailheads but the house did not smell the best and the complimentary snacks were very stale and tasted like cardboard.

Our confirmation email said check in was between 4pm and 11pm with no other information . We tried to call around 4pm to confirm our late arrival but a foreign voice hung up on us. Arriving at 10pm we found the door locked with no entry instructions. We called the number on the front door and it went to voicemail. Finally, we banged on the door and the propieter answered. We were told that we were given a door lockbox code and we shouldn't come so late!! Neither information was given. It was horrible.

It looks nothing like the pictures. Outside was overgrown with clutter everywhere. When you go inside there is a sign to send you up stairs to your room. You don’t get to use the common areas. The room was decorated with old furniture and smelled. Bathroom was dirty. We left and stayed in a hotel in town.

No staff. Self check in . Had to call the owner for a code. He called back 10 minutes later. Basically it's an abandoned Home that rents bedrooms. Home smells like a basement. Landscape is unkempt. What was once, seemingly, a lovely home. We stunsaved. I wouldn't recommend it. Oh and add a car wash to your price, because the road is unpaved.

We booked this stay earlier in the day through Hotels.com while vacationing at the Redwoods. We did not realize that it was a private home. My credit card was charged. When we arrived that night, the gate was locked. There was a message on my Hotels.com app from the owner saying that my reservation was canceled because my credit card was rejected. It was 10 pm. We were tired and confused. The owner said that if we wanted to pay cash, he would take that (at a lesser amount) so we could stay. The photos online looked nice and it had decent reviews, so we went against our better judgement and accepted. The place was nice. Very interesting. Well, my credit card WAS charged. The owner did NOT cancel our reservation and we wound up paying the cash amount also. We reached out to the owner AND customer service with Hotels.com and there has been no resolve.
