Magnificent view, clean and quiet rooms. Good value. Parking was a challenge especially having to compete with the golf cart community that obviously were not guests of the hotel.

There was no cart to move luggage up the very slow and hot elevator. The room was decent but there was a dog nearby barking for a couple hours. Really annoying. Management was slow to respond and make the dog stop. And no breakfast.

We loved the place! Right in the marina with pool IN the marina! We were promised Harbor view, but we were a little bit cheated on that because we had to go out of the room to get the view. Perfect location, great pool area, near restaurants and sights. A place like Ocracoke is worth a longer stay! Good w bikerentals and golfcarts because narrow streets

On arrival, expected available parking. There was none as golf carts had taken extra spaces as free parking. Desk clerk had no idea what to tell us and one other person who also couldn't find parking. Office is small, cluttered, ancient looking. Room key (old fashioned kind) wouldn't work. Had to get clerk to show us how to hold and work the knob to get keys to work. Room was clean, bathroom had been updated and was fine. Water pressure was great. Beds were very comfortable and clean. But, we were told (by sign) AC had to be set at 66 and door was not to be left open. We are seniors, we were freezing! We thought, ok, just a few degrees higher would be ok. Nope, they meant 66!! When we returned from dinner, floor throughout was wet. We returned AC to 66 and used the towels to dry the floor. No one in office after about 9 pm. Yes, our fault but we had to spend time in room with sweaters on or under the bedcovers. Parking did become available as restaurants closed and diners left. Hotel is in excellent location near ferry terminal and easy walking distance to Village shops/restaurants. We liked room location on end first floor close to our car. Both desk clerks were friendly and very helpful (as much as possible). Hate to say, but overall we probably wouldn't stay here again.

We spent 4 nights at the Anchorage and enjoyed our stay. The hotel was neat and tidy. Our room was rather plain but it appeared each room was slightly different and interesting per room variations. However being at the end of the third floor gave us access to a seating area on the balcony with awesome views of the harbor. Also not to be missed was a visit to the pool which has a very unique location in front of the hotel just about in the harbor. 4 stars, not 5, only because the room was plain and bathroom needed a refresh. Great convenient place to stay, especially for pets.

The location was great. It was across from the marina and there were lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. The room was fine. The elevator never did work for us. You're definitely paying for the location as the room was expensive for what it was.

We got what we paid for, not the most expensive place to stay, so we get it. Hotel seriously needs some work and finding hairs under the sheets in a "cleaned" room, not o.k.

We arrived early, and can't complain about not being able to check in early, but found it annoying to go back at 2:00 as instructed and still being unable to check in. Room was ready at 3:00. Thereafter everything was satisfactory. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not request maid service during our 3 day stay. Had no problem receiving a hair dryer and extra towels, soap and coffee pods.

The property is in need of renovations. The beds were like tacos and the smell was disgusting. We could not stay the night because of the horrendous smell in the room and mold. I had a massive headache and after we left it dissipated. I would never recommend nor EVER stay at this property again. I can assure you that I will tell everyone that I know not to stay there.

Good news. Our key and instructions were left for us to find after office was closed so thank you! We never saw any staff. Room was not clean and coffee machine didn’t work. Location was great however. Also. Noisy neighbors. Thin towels and sheets. Very dissapointing but adequate for one night.

The Anchorage was located in a super location. I loved having the area on our floor where we could sit for morning coffer or an after dinner drink. The bath and beds were great. We had to find towels, the front lock was not working well. When I could not get in I went to get someone who basically said it was me...until he could not get in. We struggled with that the entire time we were there. My main complaint was that the floors were just filthy. We all remove our shoes at our homes, so we did the same but my feet got dirty immediately. We adjusted and because of our response to the door lock, we kept quiet about the floors. I think for the price, the unit should have been clean. We were there 3 nights but we had to go get more towels, more toilet paper and more coffee. Just not my level of cleanliness or service.

Great stay. Very Very Clean Room. Roomy space very comfortable beds, we slept great. Good Shower and towels Lovely spot with view of the water. We were just there for 1 nite. But would have loved to have stayed longer.

Since it was Sunday night it was quiet. The door had a large gap at the top. Wasn’t sure how many bugs could be getting in. The towels were very nice. The TV was a bit out dated and you couldn’t see the full screen on some channels. No guide!

location is certainly convenient to the ferry, and right on the main drag. Access is easy, parking lot was full, but then so was the motel. The inhouse wifi signal was weak and my phone actually did a better job just standing out in the hallway. Facility is old but the room interior was spic and span. I'd stay there again.

The a/c in this room was not nearly as good as the last room we booked. Everything else was great, and I would still recommend! Walkable! Internet access good. Nice view and seating outside the rooms.

Great location, goid place, wonderful view from balcony. Room for improvement in that no internet, bathroom door did not latch, no freezer section in fridge, no hair conditioner (just shampoo)). Little annoyances.

Parking could have been better. A lot of golf carts and they took up more than 1 parking place, so it made parking a struggle . We had no internet and no cable tv. Internet would not connect no matter what we did and tv kept saying no signal. Very disappointed.

The location was excellent within walking distance of everything. Our room AC system was not working correctly and did not discharge the condensate out of the room resulting in a soaking wet floor. Front desk disagreed and said we must have set the thermostat below 70 degrees when we had it set for 74. Our room door was extremely hard to open as it was swelled tight - had to punch it each time as it would not open with a push.

Absurdly thin walls, I could hear people talking under me and the people above me had kids running around at 2am it was so loud, i was there for work but if I was vacationing I would have really been upset. Slept with earplugs in still woke up several times to loud noises

There was no human contact on the premise when coming off the 4:30 car ferry from Cedar Island. Keys were left in an envelope in an outside basket with your name on it. Anyone could have picked up the envelope and used your key and the room with no charge to them but you would have still been been held responsible for payment. I wasn't comfortable with this arrival procedure.

Yeah, I get that this is the “off season” but pulling up after dark to a vacant hotel where my room key was left in an envelope outside the office door with my name on it seemed a little unsafe. There was only an “emergency number” included in the instructions. It would have been nice to be able to ask for an extra blanket and another pillow. Other than those two things the room was a great value. The fixtures seem dated and worn but there were signs of improvements underway.

Due to the flooding of roads, and cancellations of the ferries, we were unable to arrive at the hotel. After several attempts to contact the hotel by telephone on the morning of our reservation, we were finally able to leave a call back number - that was 3 days ago and we have not heard a thing. I then emailed the hotel. Based on the weather and the lack of responsiveness from your hotel, we were requesting a refund. Good luck with that!

For an old hotel it was in good shape and very clean. Check in was nice and easy, they left our keys and we just went up to our room. Views are incredible and you can walk to just about anywhere in the village in less than 10 minutes.

It was in a great location. The view from the Inn was spectacular. The room was adequately cleaned (I did see a few things.). Very comfortable. I would stay there again.

Nice room, amazing views of the harbor. We especially liked the deck chairs on the porch looking over the bay. Ice machine was close by, elevator was slow but convenient. We arrived late so the front office was closed, but they left our key out for us. Seemed like there was plenty of parking, and several good restaurants within easy walking distance. Close to the ferry pier for our 7:30am departure.

The location was great. It was across from the marina and there were lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. The room was fine. The elevator never did work for us. You're definitely paying for the location as the room was expensive for what it was.

There was no cart to move luggage up the very slow and hot elevator. The room was decent but there was a dog nearby barking for a couple hours. Really annoying. Management was slow to respond and make the dog stop. And no breakfast.

Nice rooms with outside seating looking out accross the marina and harbor. Great seafood resturant accross the street at marina. Lighthouse visable accross the harbor from rooms. The resturant and marina accross the street is owned by the owners of the Inn.

Love the convenience of The Anchorage. I come down for work and walking over to Smax after a long day of seeing customers is the perfect treat. We are a family of 6, so if my family wants to come along, we stay at our other favorite place (Blackbeards Lodge) but this is the perfect place for smaller groups.

Room was clean with amazing view of the harbor. Good location on the island. Used our bikes to get around most of the time. Golf carts available. Pool was clean & refreshing. Convenient Smacnally’s restaurant/marina across the street.

We loved the place! Right in the marina with pool IN the marina! We were promised Harbor view, but we were a little bit cheated on that because we had to go out of the room to get the view. Perfect location, great pool area, near restaurants and sights. A place like Ocracoke is worth a longer stay! Good w bikerentals and golfcarts because narrow streets

What a wonderful respite! Walking distance to anything( including ice cream and fudge shop!) safe and friendly location, beautiful view- elevator was a little uncooperative at times and we decided to take the stairs most of the time. No breakfast available but the choices down the road a short distance were excellent!

Great views. Only negative was most everything is closed for the season and the hotel didn't offer breakfast. It was suggested to go to the market and buy something and reheat in the morning. It was actually a great idea since the boat back was delayed due to fog.

I did not know it was off season. Only place to eat was Howards and they had "clean out the refrigerator"' Overly expensive' Staff was OK' The Inn was clean and comfortable

We enjoyed our stay. We checked in late and left early so we did not have any interaction with the staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to ferry. We enjoyed Ocracoke.

Overall 8/10 stay, really was only there to sleep, but hotel was clean, the water pressure in the shower is a little weak, but it was nice and hot.

We stayed one night at The Anchorage as we were passing through Ocracoke heading for Hatteras Island. We’ve stayed on Ocracoke a number of times in the past but never at The Anchorage. We chose to stay where we did this time based on the pool as my daughter is addicted to swimming right now. And the pool did not disappoint! The view, from the pool, of Silver Lake is second to none on the island! The deck was clean, there was plenty of seating. No complaints! The room was generally clean and comfortable as well. The location of our room wasn’t ideal, but that’s an “it is what it is” thing. There were some aspects of the property that were pretty warn out—doors/locks/windows/light fixtures were all just kind of used up. Not really a complaint as I can’t even begin to imagine the nightmare that upkeep must be between the ocean air, the strong storms, and the constant wear and tear of guests. All of that to say, we’d have no problem staying again when we’re passing through.
