Villa Les Palmes

Excellent accueil d'Ali et son épouse dans cette magnifique villa du début du XXe siècle. Lieu magnifique chargé d'une belle âme. Petit déjeuner au top avec d'excellents produits. Les repas sont aussi très bien cuisinés. Un beau jardin entoure cette villa, ce qui permet de se détendre au calme en pleine ville. Très bon choix pour passer quelques temps dans la capitale tunisienne. Je recommande la "Villa des Palmes" sans retenue.

I probably should have researched more but this is more akin to a hostel than a hotel - shared bathroom and very steep spiral staircase to get to room (I am fine carrying my baggage up normal stairs but this was tough). The house is on a busy street and is very loud with the windows closed, but because there was no air conditioning had to have them open which made it even worse.

An amazing stay with exceptional flexibility and helpfulness throughout, from check-in to check-out. The charming old mansion, nestled in the heart of Tunis, boasts a beautiful garden that’s perfect for relaxing. The breakfast offered a great variety, and the fresh citronnade was a refreshing touch. We’ll definitely be back! The only downside is that the stairs might be a bit challenging for elderly guests, but everything else was perfect....merci again

Globalement un très beau séjour à la villa Les Palmes. Le bâtiment, les jardins, la chambre et la salle de bain étaient au top. Le petit déjeuner raffiné et fait maison. Le personnel et l'hôte sont à votre écoute et de très bons conseils. Ayant une voiture de location, j'ai pu prendre une option payante pour garer ma voiture devant la villa (5 euros/jour). Seul léger bémol, nous étions au même étage qu'une autre famille et les portes sont très fines. Nous avons du discuter avec les occupants d'à côté pour le bruit le matin lors de leur passage dans les couloirs. Ils ont été très compréhensifs. La villa est à 15 min de l'aéroport. En taxi ou en voiture de location, vous êtes à côté. Le quartier est calme et peu bruyant. Nous vous recommandons vivement.

Bei meiner Ankunft nach 23.00 Uhr musste ich zusätzlich € 20.- wegen "Late check in" bezahlen. Die versprochene Rechnungsbestätigung war für den nächsten Morgen versprochen, habe ich aber nicht erhalten. Der angebotene Transfer vom Flughafen ist komplett überteuert. Mit den gelben Taxen kommt man zu einem Bruchteil zum Gästehaus. Um zum Zimmer zu kommen (3 - 4 Zimmer teilen ein WC und Dusche), musste ich das schwere Gepäck alleine 2 Stockwerke hochtragen. Der anscheinend betrunkene Chef des Hauses hat nur die Schlüssel getragen. Ich habe auch keinen Weckdienst benötigt da ich durch den Verkehrslärm sehr früh aufgewacht bin. Das Bett war gut. Sicher nie mehr wieder!!!

Wonderful hotel, super helpful staff, beautiful, quiet rooms and a lovely garden in the back where you can sit and enjoy a coffee. The fresh cooked breakfast is a nice way to start the day. The rooms are very clean, the beds have cozy duvets and plenty of pillows. We were there in the winter and the rooms had heat and were plenty warm. Our room was up 2 floors of stairs, they also have ground level rooms (and stairs are the norm in Tunis). The sitting area outside our room was nice and relaxing, a bit of extra shared space to sit down. And the rooms are quiet, many places in the city can can be loud, or noisy, car honking, dogs barking, etc, but the rooms here are so very quiet, silent even! The bathroom for a room with a private one are huge and clean. The hot water is consistent and warm. We did not speak French or Arabic and the staff was very accommodating and patient, they spoke enough English to make communication possible and straight forward. We would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel!

Villa Les Palmes was a comfortable and comforting retreat, just as beautifully described. We loved the artistic, eclectic style and the peaceful embrace of the garden – it was such a welcoming sanctuary! Every morning, the breakfast was especially wonderful, a delightful highlight that we looked forward to. Our hosts were welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. We're so grateful for the lovely time we had at Villa Les Palmes.

Une belle authentique maison paisible du début du siècle. Bon petit déjeuner en terrasse ou dans la salle à manger. Facile de se garer dans la rue adjacente ou au pire juste devant moyennant petit supplément.

The property has potential however overall I did not have a successful stay. Upon check in I was advised that the room had a shared bathroom. The owner advised that he had a room with a private bathroom but this was more expensive. He advised me to cancel the original reservation and re-book the en-suite room and he would authorise a refund via Hotels.com for the full cost of the original booking. I did this with great difficulty, as to why this could not have been sorted locally I am still unsure! Anyway Hotels.com emailed to advise the owner had not waived the cancellation fee for the original booking. When I approached him he stated they had not contacted him. I wasted two days of my holiday dealing with this. The owner then said that as the second booking was made using a promotional rate (but still much higher value than the original booking) he wanted me to give him the amount of the promotion back in order for him to agree the refund of the original reservation - basically blackmail. It was clear he had not responded to Hotels.com intentionally and this was part of his game to extract more money from me. Added to this the hotel had no heating on my first night and was not comfortable. The owner spends all of his time chain smoking in the kitchen - yes Kitchen! Meaning the whole place smelled of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was very basic and of poor quality and finally the photos on the website are not recent and not a true reflection. I do not recommend.

Everyone here was kind and helpful. My room was cleaned regularly, and staff checked in on me on a day when I felt under the weather. Breakfast was plentiful, healthy, and yummy. And whether you have a big or small appetite, it will satisfy you. I highly recommend, and would book again if I go back to the city.

Outdated and overpriced. The property is very old design and not repainted, the heating is old radiators which are not sufficient for the cold. Shared spaces and close quarters are not good for privacy. This is a bed and breakfast from a nice couple, but not what we needed at the time. The garden is not maintained and consists of outdated handmade funiture. The guest house is a 2 story climb up a spiral staircase to a small room with no substantial heat, TV or ample space. Room service is nonexistent and all food must extra pay for dining with the hosts, also overpriced. We filled out an old fashioned papework, took a bath, and immediately went to the Marigold some 3 blocks away. Quaint, but unnecessary. I did thank the owner Ali for his efforts, but unfortunately it was not modern enough for our desire.

La casa è bellissima, comoda e accogliente. Tutto molto pulito e profumato. Molto comodo alloggiare qui se si deve solo sostare prima di andare all’aeroporto

I had a great stay here, the owners are very kind people and make you feel at home. I found the room quiet and peaceful and enjoyed the breakfast in the mornings overlooking the garden. Lots of interesting places are walkable from the hotel. Would recommend!

I hadn't realised this is a guest house not a hotel. The rooms were smaller than I anticipated.

J’ai eu un petit problème avec la climatisation, tomber en panne,l’hebergeur a été réactif et m’a changer de chambre Un petit problème sur le site, le numero de téléphone n’est pas a jour, j’ai dû communiquer par message via le site ! Petit déjeuner impeccable, pour le service et l’acceuil, impeccable rien a dire. La prochaine fois je choisirais une chambre côté jardin car côté avenue Mohamed V c’est beau de bruit de voitures. Merci a la dame qui m’a accueilli .

Very nice mom and pop bed and breakfast. They are amazingly friendly and the lady of the house makes amazing food.

It was a wonderful experience. Stylish buildings, furnishings, and a kind owner. If you're going to Tunisia, try a special experience rather than an ordinary hotel. The food was also superb.
