It was a very nice stay in the center of Cortona village. Beautiful hotel and views. Comfortable and very clean rooms. The parking is the only thing that you need to prepare for, they have a small garage but you have to reserve and pay in advance. The other option is to park the car in other places close to the village and walk to the hotel.

O hotel tem um custo bastante alto, mas valeu muito ! A localização é ótima, o café da manhã, muito bom, com possibilidade de escolha de alguns itens feitos na hora. O hotel é um spa com várias comodidades, piscina aquecida, sauna. Porém, todo o serviço é pago a parte, o que achei injustificável, pois o valor pago já é bem alto. Tivemos um problema com a caução paga na entrada - 300 euros, que precisei solicitar o cancelamento, pois mesmo pagando os extras no check out, constava do meu cartão wise. O problema foi sanado e o valor cancelado.

What an absolutely amazing experience!! This was a highlight of our first trip to Italy. It started a bit rocky as it’s a challenge to find the hotel via car. However, with a simple phone call they sent a driver to retrieve us and our luggage from a nearby public parking lot. We were greeted with refreshing drinks while they checked us in. Our rooms were perfectly spacious. We enjoyed our first day in the spa. This was so special to spend time with my mother and daughter in this serene setting. We then headed out to the pool area where we relaxed in the comfortable lounging chairs. We also ordered some lovely drinks and appetizers. There breakfasts were exceptional and the overall experience was fantastic!! Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning high-end boutique hotel and spa. Incredible attention to detail in both decoration and service. Only negative is that there was just not enough of sun beds in the garden/pool area.

What a beautiful place. Staff was amazing, so helpful in every way. Lovely breakfasts in the garden. Their bartender fixes some incredible cocktails and the one night we had dinner in the hotel restaurant, everything was delicious. A word of advice: If you’re driving, insist on a SMALL rental car. Cortona is full of tiny curvy cobblestone streets some of which you must drive through to get to and from the hotel. We were offered an upgrade to a Jeep with the turning radius of a semi truck and like the dumb Americans we are, we accepted. We cursed that Jeep every day spent in Cortona.

Beautiful and peaceful hotel located right in the heart of Cortona, a few minutes away from restaurants. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were excellent. The pool is such a nice amenity, just wish there was a place where we could lie down and read a book. It's impossible to relax, sitting on a dining iron chair.

It’s impossible to praise this hotel enough! What an amazing experience, from the care and concern after booking, to check-in and the attention to detail throughout our stay. The location is good, not too far to walk to local restaurants in Cortona but far enough to be tranquil. The hotel is spotless and well appointed. However what makes it an experience not to be forgotten is the staff. Everyone, from reception to housekeeping to restaurant to bar are amazing. Fantastic !!

Don’t know where to start…we have just returned from the most amazing 5 day break at the Monastero. From the second we walked in until moment we left we were met with most friendly, genuine, attentive staff at all levels. The building is beautiful, the rooms comfortable with huge beds and everything you need, clean towels daily and a turn down service with chocolate is a nice touch. Breakfast included is also excellent, again everything you need and a la carte items if you wish and served on the terrace too if you like to make it extra special. Bar fully stocked with everything you could think of and a hugely knowledgeable Bar Manager who will make you anything and his friendliness is another highlight of our stay. Cortona centre is 2 minutes away down a lovely street, every step a head turning moment with either the amazing view or the lanes, piazzas, decor and buildings. All in all we had the most amazing time in an amazing place, 5 stars is an understatement as it deserves more! There’s so much more I could say but if you visit Italy never mind Tuscany you must come and stay here.

Beautiful stay. Location is very walkable to all of Cortona, rooms are pristine, staff is polite and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast is delicious. We loved everything! If you drive, be sure to read the directions and ensure you have a tiny car!

Monastero di Cortona Hotel & Spa is the perfect oasis while exploring Cortona. The hotel is within walking distance to most of the Cortona sights and experiences. All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional (not at all snooty). The hotel is very clean with twice daily room checks to replace linens, empty trash bins, and refill toiletries. The breakfasts offered were well beyond the typical hotel breakfasts - well-presented, fresh, and delicious. The meals we had at the restaurant were beautiful and delectable (some of the best food we have ever had). The pool provided a great reprieve from the heat and the setting is gorgeous. While our room was small (the only option available since we booked late), the space is well laid out and very functional. The king bed and linens were heavenly. We were surprised at how quiet the room was (no banging doors from other quests or any noise at all). The only bad parts are difficulties getting there and having to leave.

Fantastic hotel, all of the staff are excellent and made the experience even better. The views from the hotel of Cortona are incredible and we wish we'd booked a longer stay. The rooms are immaculate, clean and very comfortable. All of the amenities follow in the same vein and are so nice you almost don't want to venture out into the town.

Fantastic hotel, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff are really polite and very attentive. The hotel is spotless and your room is cleaned numerous times a day. The hotel is wonderfully located above the village with a pleasant walk down into the town centre. I would recommend a room with a patio so that you can enjoy the spacious bedroom when you don’t want to be at the pool.

What a beautiful hotel, the room was spacious clean and extremely well presented. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The breakfast was delicious and facilities great too. I loved the personal touches like the biscuits and water in the room with a note on arrival and also on the last day. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!! :-)

Great hotel but room 114 is too close to the bar area and as such very noisy if there are loud guests in there. I’d suggest a room away from the bar if you want a good nights sleep but everything else is fantastic

The staff are outstanding in a 5* character property with outstanding attention to detail. Close to lots of shops and resturant’s even though the best food was at the hotel. We originally booked for 7 days and have just extended the stay as we enjoyed it so much. Will definitely return

This property was stunning. Gorgeous views westward over the rolling Tuscan hills, paired with a cozy spa and relaxing outdoor pool were the perfect setting for a portion of our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly/helpful and management certainly does a superb job maintaining this historical setting.

The hotel is very nice. Our room was quite small and the window view was lovely but very high up on top of the wall to where you can’t see out unless you go up steps to your tippy toes. Breakfast was very good. Dinners were good but pricey. Would have been nice to sit outside but it was colder and no outdoor heaters. My main issue was the parking. We thought we could park at the hotel but they said the parking was full so we parked down a hill and had to pay. The hotel was aware but didn’t offer service to help.

Monastero di Cortona Hotel & Spa is the perfect oasis while exploring Cortona. The hotel is within walking distance to most of the Cortona sights and experiences. All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional (not at all snooty). The hotel is very clean with twice daily room checks to replace linens, empty trash bins, and refill toiletries. The breakfasts offered were well beyond the typical hotel breakfasts - well-presented, fresh, and delicious. The meals we had at the restaurant were beautiful and delectable (some of the best food we have ever had). The pool provided a great reprieve from the heat and the setting is gorgeous. While our room was small (the only option available since we booked late), the space is well laid out and very functional. The king bed and linens were heavenly. We were surprised at how quiet the room was (no banging doors from other quests or any noise at all). The only bad parts are difficulties getting there and having to leave.

Fantastic hotel, all of the staff are excellent and made the experience even better. The views from the hotel of Cortona are incredible and we wish we'd booked a longer stay. The rooms are immaculate, clean and very comfortable. All of the amenities follow in the same vein and are so nice you almost don't want to venture out into the town.

Beautiful and peaceful hotel located right in the heart of Cortona, a few minutes away from restaurants. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were excellent. The pool is such a nice amenity, just wish there was a place where we could lie down and read a book. It's impossible to relax, sitting on a dining iron chair.

Our arrival experience was less than stellar for a warm welcome to property. Front desk associate was very cold and accusatory of the situation we encountered outside of the property. We have traveled extensively and I expected better arrival experience. It all changed for the better when we finally got to our amazing suite and befriending two amazing individuals in the hotel bar. The roof top suite was absolutely amazing! The room is quiet, private and much larger than described on the site. We absolutely loved the room and the privacy. The rooftop suite is the best in the house! Claudio in the bar and Salvatore the sommelier are stellar to guests, they turned around the entire experience! I let them know what had happened upon arrival and they immediately got the GM to reach out to us. Lara, the GM is amazing and quickly made our experience turn into something so special, as we wanted! She is an incredible woman and turned our stay into an incredible experience! The breakfast is nothing less than wonderful and the service in their restaurants are so attentive and the food was delicious. Hands down, I would love to go back again. They certainly made things right by making our romantic stay, exactly what I wanted. They made us feel heard and valued and welcomed at this once in a lifetime experience. We made friends that we will cherish and memories that we will never forget! Claudio, Lara and Salvatore really made our stay exactly what we needed and wanted!

What a beautiful hotel, the room was spacious clean and extremely well presented. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The breakfast was delicious and facilities great too. I loved the personal touches like the biscuits and water in the room with a note on arrival and also on the last day. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!! :-)

It’s impossible to praise this hotel enough! What an amazing experience, from the care and concern after booking, to check-in and the attention to detail throughout our stay. The location is good, not too far to walk to local restaurants in Cortona but far enough to be tranquil. The hotel is spotless and well appointed. However what makes it an experience not to be forgotten is the staff. Everyone, from reception to housekeeping to restaurant to bar are amazing. Fantastic !!

Don’t know where to start…we have just returned from the most amazing 5 day break at the Monastero. From the second we walked in until moment we left we were met with most friendly, genuine, attentive staff at all levels. The building is beautiful, the rooms comfortable with huge beds and everything you need, clean towels daily and a turn down service with chocolate is a nice touch. Breakfast included is also excellent, again everything you need and a la carte items if you wish and served on the terrace too if you like to make it extra special. Bar fully stocked with everything you could think of and a hugely knowledgeable Bar Manager who will make you anything and his friendliness is another highlight of our stay. Cortona centre is 2 minutes away down a lovely street, every step a head turning moment with either the amazing view or the lanes, piazzas, decor and buildings. All in all we had the most amazing time in an amazing place, 5 stars is an understatement as it deserves more! There’s so much more I could say but if you visit Italy never mind Tuscany you must come and stay here.

The staff are outstanding in a 5* character property with outstanding attention to detail. Close to lots of shops and resturant’s even though the best food was at the hotel. We originally booked for 7 days and have just extended the stay as we enjoyed it so much. Will definitely return

Our second time at the Monastero di Cortona and came back because we enjoyed it so much. Staff are wonderful - so attentive and helpful. Food at the main restaurant was fantastic as were the breakfasts.

Fantástico todo ! El hotel es totalmente nuevo, la decoración de muy buen gusto, la calidad de todo es de primera. El desayuno excelente, servido en la mesa, no bufet. Las vistas de la ciudad y del valle maravillosas. La ubicación perfecta, a unos pasos del centro histórico. Muy recomendable, sin duda el mejor hotel de Cortona sin exagerar.

It was a very nice stay in the center of Cortona village. Beautiful hotel and views. Comfortable and very clean rooms. The parking is the only thing that you need to prepare for, they have a small garage but you have to reserve and pay in advance. The other option is to park the car in other places close to the village and walk to the hotel.

What a unique place. Near the top of the hill. Staff service and amenities were all great. Not an easy place to drive to. The taxis drive-in backwards the last eighth of a mile.

The most amazing stay! Literally the best hotel in Cortona. Such a short walk to the city center. My boyfriend and I had the most incredible time, our only regret was that our stay was so short. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip. I can’t wait to return! The view from the hotel was INCREDIBLE!

We had a wonderful four day stay while wandering our way through Italy. The location is at the top of the hill and I mean the TOP. View is great but be prepared to climb the hill which is quite steep. The roads are narrow so if you are driving the smaller car is preferred.

Stayed for 4 nights on part of a long gal pal trip to France & Italy. This place was simple extraordinary . Starting each day with a breakfast that had every imaginable food options to suit your style. No lunch needed after feasting in style. Happy hour could not have been better, the cocktails were a work of art, as were the complimentary appetizers! Each day we thought we would try some other restaurant in Cortona, but ultimately always chose to eat in the dinning room, and we were never disappointed. The wine, food, service, ...all outstanding. Oh my, the rooms, sheer indulgence, the views, the linens, the daily treats left for our enjoyment, the accessories, space & lighting options in the powder room. The ambiance of this hotel, combined with the staff, made our stay memorable indeed. I hope to be lucky enough to return!

fabulous hotel with the most beautiful aperol spritz I have ever had served by the pool, and that was only one of the wonderful things I have to say about this beautiful hotel. The staff were helpful and accomodating, breakfast in the courtyard outstanding and our room was divine. Cant recommend this property enough.

This is a wonderful hotel. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and professional in every respect. The restaurant and quality of food was wonderful - such a relaxing and comfortable dining room. I'd rate it as one of the best for breakfast that I have experienced. We spent a week at the hotel and would have been quite happy to have stayed longer. We dined out in highly rated restuarants in Cortona but none were better that the hotel restaurant.

Excellent hotel with the most helpful and friendly staff! The breakfast was delicious and our room was exceptional. If you’re not an experienced driver who is comfortable with steep, narrow Italian streets, I suggest leaving the car outside of the city walls before getting to the hotel. I will be returning to this hotel in the future and will make sure to try the spa!

Our arrival experience was less than stellar for a warm welcome to property. Front desk associate was very cold and accusatory of the situation we encountered outside of the property. We have traveled extensively and I expected better arrival experience. It all changed for the better when we finally got to our amazing suite and befriending two amazing individuals in the hotel bar. The roof top suite was absolutely amazing! The room is quiet, private and much larger than described on the site. We absolutely loved the room and the privacy. The rooftop suite is the best in the house! Claudio in the bar and Salvatore the sommelier are stellar to guests, they turned around the entire experience! I let them know what had happened upon arrival and they immediately got the GM to reach out to us. Lara, the GM is amazing and quickly made our experience turn into something so special, as we wanted! She is an incredible woman and turned our stay into an incredible experience! The breakfast is nothing less than wonderful and the service in their restaurants are so attentive and the food was delicious. Hands down, I would love to go back again. They certainly made things right by making our romantic stay, exactly what I wanted. They made us feel heard and valued and welcomed at this once in a lifetime experience. We made friends that we will cherish and memories that we will never forget! Claudio, Lara and Salvatore really made our stay exactly what we needed and wanted!

I never write hotel reviews, but this hotel was so exceptional that I had to share my experience. The room was beautiful, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful turn-down service every evening. The staff were truly the most attentive and welcoming I’ve ever experienced. They helped arrange pickup from the train station, made restaurant reservations, and went above and beyond in so many little ways. Those small details made me feel genuinely cared for. The breakfast was lovely and served in such a beautiful setting — the perfect way to start the day. I absolutely loved my stay here and would come back to Cortona for this hotel alone. A truly special place with exceptional hospitality. Highly recommend!

EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!! From the check in to the checkout and everything in between! Eleanora and Matteo at the front desk, the bartenders and waiters by the oook and Lorenzo and Alessandro at the restaurant! Our beds were changed everyday along with our towels and anything else we used. Fresh bottles of water everyday (no charge) and turn down every night. We were treated with a hand written note by Flavia, the manager when we arrived with chocolates and candy. She left another handwritten note thanking us for our stay when we left with a bottle of Amaro from a Tuscany. She stopped to talk with us everytime we saw her to see how everything was! If there were 100 stars, that is what I would give this hotel because it is out of this world from the views to the beautiful decor and chandleliers! We enjoyed the pool and they arranged cars, wine tastings and train transportation for us. They went above and beyond and always with a smile. If you are planning a trip to that area and you don’t stay there, you are missing out! We will definitely be back because everyone made us feel as if we were part of the family. And everyone speaks English in Cortona!
