We very much enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Boxley Inn. This lovely home was the perfect place to stay while visiting our son. Wonderful breakfast and coffee on the porch was great! We didn’t want to leave.

I absolutely loved staying here. Our Innkeeper, L, gave a spectacular tour and made me feel like I was home. The Boxley House is absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth a visit!!

Stayed here for a night on a road trip and I don’t think I could have made a better choice. Beautiful area, very homey and welcoming atmosphere, and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was delicious homemade quiche, along with other continental choices. Heidi was the inn keeper during my stay and she was an excellent hostess. Would stay again!

Beautiful property. The grounds are lovely, and the historic home is really well laid out, and gorgeous. The innkeeper, Elaine, was great. Enthusiastic, witty, and helpful. Really cute room and shared bath. The breakfast options were really nice as well. Highly recommend.

We liked everything about The Boxley Inn! We were warmly greeted. The Inn was so beautiful and full of history. And yet we didn’t feel like we were in an “old” house. The house was beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely go back!

The house itself was a high end historical masterpiece. Every detail and piece of furniture were quality beautiful antiques. Its worth the trip to spend time in this museum piece.

We had an amazing stay. Our hostess was excellent, friendly, welcoming exciting. I really felt like all our needs were anticipated and provided for. The house was clean and warm and inviting. Breakfast was wonderful!

Loved the historic B & B we stayed at. The house was beautiful, well maintained, very neat and clean. They served an excellent breakfast and the staff (Candace) was always available for all our needs. Since this was our first stay at a B & B we did not know how they operated. The bedroom was a little small and we shared a bathroom. Next visit we will know to ask for a bedroom with a bath. Overall we had a wonderful weekend.

Incredibly clean, wonderful service, easy check-in, great breakfast. Wish i could have opened the window in my room because i like sleeping really cold, but otherwise great!

We are a couple and were making a road trip through several states and had booked a room for 2 nights. The room was so terrible tiny (have never seen this...) you could not even place the suitcases and there was absolutely no ventilation, window could not be opened. The bed was terribly small for 2 people to sleep. I did not sleep at all, having an awful next day. For breakfast there was no toast bread, only bagels already placed on the table the day before, we saw them, how can you accept this! So no fresh bread. We did not stay for the second night and the lady who received us was kind to say she would inquire if we could get a refund. Until today we have not heard anything from her. We are from Europe and have stayed in many many B&B's, this was the worst experience ever. Sad to say.

We were looking for a place to stay for one night in the vicinity of Lake Anna. The Boxley Place Inn was a perfect spot. Staff checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed (including setting up breakfast for the next morning), but otherwise nobody on site during our stay. We had booked a room with a shared bathroom, but there were no other guests, which made it easy. Cute place, will definitely be back.

I stayed at the Boxley while bicycle touring from Charlottesville to Richmond. The staff was amazing and accommodated my unusual arrival time, was flexible about storing my bike safely, helped me figure out dinner in the area, and arranging breakfast. I loved it!

The aesthetic and the quietness of the property were wonderful. Also, the breakfast was delicious and specialized for me.

The aesthetic and the quietness of the property were wonderful. Also, the breakfast was delicious and specialized for me.

We are a couple and were making a road trip through several states and had booked a room for 2 nights. The room was so terrible tiny (have never seen this...) you could not even place the suitcases and there was absolutely no ventilation, window could not be opened. The bed was terribly small for 2 people to sleep. I did not sleep at all, having an awful next day. For breakfast there was no toast bread, only bagels already placed on the table the day before, we saw them, how can you accept this! So no fresh bread. We did not stay for the second night and the lady who received us was kind to say she would inquire if we could get a refund. Until today we have not heard anything from her. We are from Europe and have stayed in many many B&B's, this was the worst experience ever. Sad to say.

Stayed here for a night on a road trip and I don’t think I could have made a better choice. Beautiful area, very homey and welcoming atmosphere, and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was delicious homemade quiche, along with other continental choices. Heidi was the inn keeper during my stay and she was an excellent hostess. Would stay again!

Beautiful property. The grounds are lovely, and the historic home is really well laid out, and gorgeous. The innkeeper, Elaine, was great. Enthusiastic, witty, and helpful. Really cute room and shared bath. The breakfast options were really nice as well. Highly recommend.

Wonderful bed & breakfast!! Beautiful and so full of history. Very friendly staff and delicious quiche for breakfast. I can't say enough about this place!!

The Boxly Place Inn truly felt like a warm, welcoming retreat in Louisa, Virginia. This charming house, built in the late 1800s, is packed with character and a sense of history. It shows some wear from the years, but it’s still incredibly cozy and inviting. The hostess who greeted me was lovely, giving me a personal tour and sharing some interesting stories about the building, which made my visit feel special and unique. Overall, it was a wonderful experience—relaxing, comfortable, and just what I was hoping for, exceeding all my expectations.

This place is well-maintained for how old it is, and it was fun to stay in such a historic building. Surface cleaning is spotless, but a deeper clean is not really great (e.g., ceiling fans). Our room did not have a TV so we had to watch in the living room. We had to share a bathroom. Kind of frustrating for a room with kids, but it was on the booking. Just didn’t catch it somehow. The pillows could use a regular update. The breakfast was better than a traditional continental breakfast, but not fantastic.
