I had a problem with no hot water in the room. I ran the hot water for several minutes without hot water turning on. I decided to forego a shower that morning because I had to get to a meeting. The way the hotel handled this was somewhat shocking to me. I called to see if they knew of a hot water outage. They said there was no issue. I said - your shower knobs are not labeled so I can't tell whether I've turned on the proper knob (I'd assumed the left knob was hot). They confirmed the left knob was hot. I ran it for a few more minutes, yet still no hot water. Ok, I need to get moving. They'd said they could send a maintenance person, but I said don't do that as I need to get going. They sent a maintenance person anyway, who then just ran the water for a few more minutes. This all went on while I was changing. The maintenance person left the door to my room wide open. After a few minutes the water finally started to turn hot. Their main purpose in sending the person up was to then use this information to argue that there was no problem. Room rates were $500 that night with tax included. I thought they might want to discount slightly given the hot water problem. At the front desk I was confronted with a staffer who largely tried to minimize my issue or to suggest that I was not being truthful. I was trying to figure out what happened (with the bottom line issue being that hot water did not come in a reasonable/typical amount of time). They did not ask any questions and I left.
