My wife and I stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Rockbeare Manor and it's only 10-15 mins away. So glad we did.. the staff are all lovely, the pub is cosy, the accommodation fab and the food is amazing. Couldn't recommend this place enough, we only wished we'd stayed longer.

We stayed two nights at The Red Lion. A wonderful authentic old Pub with a lot of atmosphere. The food was delicious and the staff was the friendliest people. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again.

After a very busy day ant work, we drove from the midlands and arrived at the Red Lion just before check in closed at 10pm, but unfortunately the chefs had gone home so we’re unable to have a meal. Very kindly the bar staff offered to make us cheese and biscuits. The bar was cosy and warm, and when we got to the bedroom, it was clean and modern decor but still kept traditional and in keeping with the history of the building.

This was a home from home. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. After a 3.5 day drive from Corfu to walk through the doors of a friendly Great British hostelry was simply the best experience. Spacious accommodation in the Flat, plenty of room to unwind with my two dogs who were a little wound up after the long drive. A good nights sleep and the ability to run off steam in the field opposite, we all left relaxed and chilled. Pub grub was fabulous too! As I couldn’t stay for breakfast , they even went to the trouble of sending me off with a packed lunch! 😋

Great pub. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic, friendly staff. The food was amazing and some unusual things on the menu. Great breakfast too. Our room was really lovely too. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back!

Lovely stay at The Red Lion. The apartment was delightful and the perfect place to stay before a day in Exeter. The pub is very dog friendly and our 2 pups were made to feel very welcome. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too. I would definitely stay again and recommend the Red Lion to everyone.

Stayed for 2 nights in the apartment. Very comfortable, quiet, clean. Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Public footpath close to the hotel - really nice walk. Our dog was very welcome. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely stop over en route to Cornwall. Historic and picturesque. Comfortable room and wonderfully looked after by Mandy & Millie in the bar at dinner and by Alison (?) who served as good a breakfast as I’ve had. A happy welcoming venue that provided great value and quality.

Charming, small inn. Next to very pretty church. Tasty and filling breakfast included. Looks newly redecorated. My room faced onto the car park, and had quite low ceilings… but my colleague’s room seemed to have lovely tall ceilings, and old beams. Pillows were a bit lumpy, and the room was quite chilly overnight.

Lovely stay at The Red Lion. The apartment was delightful and the perfect place to stay before a day in Exeter. The pub is very dog friendly and our 2 pups were made to feel very welcome. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious too. I would definitely stay again and recommend the Red Lion to everyone.

A really nice little inn. Clean & comfortable room, slept well. Quiet location; adjacent car parking. Good food in a historic bar / restaurant with lots of character. Competitively proced.

My wife and I stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Rockbeare Manor and it's only 10-15 mins away. So glad we did.. the staff are all lovely, the pub is cosy, the accommodation fab and the food is amazing. Couldn't recommend this place enough, we only wished we'd stayed longer.

Staff were welcoming and the biscuits in the jar was a little gesture to the hungry soul. Breakfast had a reasonable selection and served with the customer in mind

A lovely old pub serving great food and with comfortable and clean rooms. The staff were friendly, helpful and we had great service at both dinner and breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay

Stayed for 2 nights in the apartment. Very comfortable, quiet, clean. Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Public footpath close to the hotel - really nice walk. Our dog was very welcome. Would definitely stay again.

Great pub. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic, friendly staff. The food was amazing and some unusual things on the menu. Great breakfast too. Our room was really lovely too. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back!

This Inn is a little gem hidden away in the countryside. It is so authentic it seems frozen in time, except for the rooms that have a more modern country chic ambiance. The food was great and the staff absolutely fantastic. I wish we had booked a few more nights!

Check in for the inn is at the bar. It took us a while to realise this. Also because check-in is at the bar… you must arrive before pub close… around 9pm. Being a historic preserved site there is limited modern amenities they are allowed to perform…. however this is part of the charm as it authentically get like an old English travelers inn. there is WiFi at least. the staff and service at the pub was excellent. the food was also good. we had the Sunday roast. Full breakfast and other options is included and had good conversations with other guests.

Top hyggeligt og præcis hvad vi søgte med en gammel kro. Old school køkken. Virkelig velsmagende. En del øl på tap. Super charmerende værelser med dårlig seng. Alt andet helt i top til en overnatning.
