Villa Gilda - Griante

Fantastic location, Beautiful home on the shore of the lake just across Belaggio.

The property was clean, accurately described, except I think the listing may have said one of the bedrooms had twin beds. All three main bedrooms have doubles or queens. The attic has twins. The gardens are beautiful. They go up further than you think they will, and if the morning is nice, make for a nice little walk to get your morning started. I have it a 4 for location instead of a 5 for two reasons - 1) you can hear traffic from the street below. I think this pretty common though given that most houses are right above the street wherever you go, and in the evening and mornings there is not much, it’s just the afternoons that it is pretty constant and 2) at the time of writing, you couldn’t walk south without walking in the street. You could walk north to Menaggio with a very small curb, but there’s just about 100 meters if you want to go south that are pretty dicey. So this property is best if you have a car. they were working on the roads though, so this may not be a lasting concern. Overall, a nice place to stay.

Comfortable living space and beautiful views. Kitchen was well equipped, backyard was spacious and picturesque.
