This motel is made up of several buildings going down toward a small lake. The motel is relatively old, but rooms are clean and spacious. They need some remodeling and small repairs, but nothing serious. I recommend taking a couple of clothes pins to secure the curtains while keeping them above the AC unit. The restaurant/bar next door is worth visiting at least once

Our room was facing the water which was across the street, so technically that was the water view room. I think there were permanent residents there which made us feel a little uncomfortable. The room was tired, but the beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Motel is old, but clean. Check in and out was easy. We only spent one night, but it was quiet. Love being able to park right outside the door. No long halls or stairs.

I really was impressed with how quiet my room was even with people on both sides of me. I really liked being across from the lake too. The linens were clean and the room had what was promised. The price was right. Some of the things I wasn’t super excited about was the smell in my room. It smelled chemically and odd. The crack in the tiles and the rust on the heaters were from wear and tear. If those things were fixed, you could advertise the rooms as having a “vintage” feel since they haven’t been updated since the seventies. I appreciated that it is family owned and that my money didn’t go to a big chain. I also appreciated that it was close to a really nice grocery store and where I needed to be the next day. Overall it was a good experience, but the smell really was off putting. The best part was the air unit in the wall; it was new and didn’t have a mildew or smoky smell! That is worth the money right there!! Thank you for that!

The lady that checked us in told us that she was giving us a newly remodeled room and that it was very clean. This couldn't be further from the truth. The room was VERY musty. There were several imperfections in and outside the room, including BED BUGS!! I have bites all over my body

We are traveling cross country and We like the “Mom and Pop” places over the chains. The room was a surprise in the fact there was a bedroom and also a bed in the front. Full size refrigerator with a small stove and kitchen sink. The bathroom was a little small but water was good and hot and good pressure. The manager was very nice and offered suggestions on where to go to restaurants. Overall very satisfied with everything. If ever in the area would stay there again.

The rooms had a nice rustic feel and were spacious. The beds were very comfortable. It is not very often that you get a full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and a cook top in the room. We very much enjoyed our stay.

I arrived at 10:40 PM at the property After a Long trip. Nobody was present for the check-in. I called the phone number as indicated on the office Door, Nobody took my call. Since it was not possibile to check-in, I had no other choice then to search for another hotel.

Stayed here twice (so far) while passing through for Christmas holidays. The rooms are always super clean, smell fresh, and are toasty warm for the winter. Forest Lake Restaurant is a quick walk from the rooms (2 minutes) and has excellent food. We love stopping here.

While the property is on the older side, my room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The clerk was friendly and food at the adjacent restaurant was excellent and not expensive.

The Forest Lake Motel is a classic motel property in a great location (and adjacent to a very good restaurant). The room was clean and comfortable. The service was friendly, welcoming and very accommodating.

The Forest Lake Motel is a classic motel property in a great location (and adjacent to a very good restaurant). The room was clean and comfortable. The service was friendly, welcoming and very accommodating.

Our room was across the street from the lake and the view was pleasant. We had dinner at the restaurant next door, and it was a wonderful dining experience. The room included a full size refrigerator and two beds.

I really enjoyed my stay... A really big, quiet room facing the lake, It definitely had the "up-north" cabin feel to it... very relaxing. FREE bags of ice for people staying here. Many dining and shopping options. Parked the car 5 feet away from the room door. I would absolutely stay here again...

Comfortable motel in a good location right in Grand Rapids. Everything was clean. Only complaint was the room had a bit of a mildewy/wet dog kind of smell. Might be an inevitable downside to a hotel in vacation/lake country. Otherwise, satisfied with the location. The owners were super friendly.

The desk clerk/owner was super friendly and helpful when I checked in. The room was what you would expect from a hundred dollar a night motel. It was clean and comfortable and there was a full-sized fridge. My room looked out over the lake and the view was awesome. I would definitely stay here again. And the bar/steakhouse next door was perfect for a late dinner.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before. The rooms are always clean and maintained in great working order. The check in process was easy and friendly. I appreciated the bag of ice daily for my cooler. Regular size refrigerator is an amazing plus for the room. I was able to bring salads from home that stayed cooled. Huge plus. The room was quiet and faced the lake.
