Elk Rapids Lakeshore Inn

Everything went great; check in was super quick and easy, as was check out. Brand new beds were SO comfy, and the remodel of the rooms is quite lovely. Everything was very clean, neat and tidy. The sitting area outside with fire pit was great to hang out at, and enjoy a quiet evening with our family and friends. Elk Rapids is 2 miles away, and the lake is a 10-minute walk directly behind the resort. The only issue we experienced was the mini fridge developed a leak, and there was no ice available onsite. An ice maker would be an awesome addition for an even more hospitable stay.

Cute motel, loks like they are trying to remodel it. Room with 1 queen bed was small, bathroom was tiny. I think they have a water softener system so be sure to nly use a tiny amount of shampoo! There were 2 new fire pits but no wood. We were told to go buy some. No ice machine either. There is a beach with a small section that was not private property, it was a 10 minute walk down a street. Oh, because its surrounded by Orchards. there are lots of fruit flies so keep your room door closed. Ask for a fruit fly trap for your room, they work!

Nice motel with good scenery and good coffee in the office in the morning if somebody is there. The in room coffee was standard hotel issue. Heat didn't work at first but the desk person reset it and then it was OK. Large outdoor firepit with chairs and I think they had wood. Peaceful and quiet.

The bed and pillows were great. It is very clean and freshly painted. The common area with fire pits and chairs was near immaculate with plenty of split firewood available. It is a quiet and pretty private little walk to a private beach. You need water shoes to walk out in the bay but it is very clean. Not a lot of shampoo and soap but you can ask for more. There is a number by the microwave you can text if you want anything. There is no vending or ice machine but the little refrigerator works great and is very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much.

A great place to stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff, outdoor firepit. A great pace for our group of 10 to hang out and enjoy time with friends.

The bathroom floor was dirty and carpet didn't look like it was vacummed

After running the warm shower for 2 min it turned ice cold and never recouped to hot the next day. There were 4 spiders in the shower with me. The bed was very comfortable. To my wife’s dismay, there wasn’t a hair dryer and no receipt for the stay.

The owner was present when I arrived and took my credit card. She never gave me a receipt. I was exhausted from the long drive and construction. I noticed later that night that the place was filthy. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, there was dirty carpet, mold on the shower curtains, dead bugs in the corners, and in the window opening, noisy. The next day, I worked at an art event and taught a class. Upon returning to the room, it was not cleaned up, trash still present, and no one emptied trash, nor made the bed. the frig was dripping near the freezer part a whole lot of water. Later that night, around 11 pm, the toilet began making loud bubbling noises and the water went up and down, and the drain in the shower emitted an odor. The woman who owned the place informed me on Friday upon arrival, that she was not around much. Dirty laundry, sheets, and bedding were piled up in a couple of bins outside. The place is atrocious. I went into the office Saturday after working all day, to try to talk to the owner. The young lady at the desk indicated the owner was not there and she did not know when she would return. I asked for a printed receipt and she gave one to me. $177.00 a night for this disaster. I indicated I wanted to talk to the owner and the young lady stated she would let her know and have her call me. The owner never called me. I want a full refund. There were no other rooms available in the area or I would have left. This will be dispute

Verry clean, nicely remodeled, access to lake and close to down town Elk Rapids.

Property is located between Torch Lake and TC and we wanted to do both so it worked. However, I wasn’t thrilled with the room. A bit outdated, spiders in room. Cobwebs in corners. Dirty carpet. We stayed in one of the rooms closer to the office and I think the rooms further down are more updated as our room looked nothing like the photos as advertised. Don’t know if I’d stay there again, but wasn’t terrible.

The pictures on line were a bit deceptive. The room and bath room is very small and stuffy. The one window with a screen would not open. Kelsey checked me in and could not have been more helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

We booked a 2-night stay here for our anniversary and it was a great experience! Rooms were small, but clean and comfortable! It looks like some remodeling may have been done recently, so keep that in mind if you’re looking at older pictures of the place. Very basic amenities, but we felt like the price was fair, especially considering how expensive other options like AirBNB have become. The staff was friendly and very responsive, and having Traverse City only about 20 minutes away was very convenient! We don’t get up north much, but we’d definitely feel comfortable staying here again in the future should we decide to visit TC again.

Room is a bit small but sheets were clean and comfortable. Bathroom is good sized with basic amenities of soap, shampoo, towels. I just noticed though that there were a lot of dust on the heater/ac part and it would be good if they also vacuum that inner coil dust once in a while. I dont have allergies so i am ok. There’s also some smell of smoke or maybe it was just the carpet. I just sprayed my room with my air freshener and opened my door for some time to get fresh air in. My a/c didnt cooled off well on my first night and i mentioned it to the cleaning person outside the next day. She said she will report it to the owner. I guess they did something it cooled well on the 2nd night. Location is good with a walkable private beach access. It was 20mins drive to downtown Tc which is ok with me but if downtown shops, restaurants are your preference this might be not your area.

We were in one of the remodel rooms. Very nice ,clean ,cozy. The bed was comfortable. Felt like a new mattress. We recommend this place and we will stay there again, any time they have something available 😀👍

Older but well kept motel style lodging. Room was clean, front desk person nice and grounds well maintained. Stayed 3 nights over 4 days while in town so had 2 rooms. Only reasons not excellent rating is the older style air conditioning and lack of decent coffee. Please an upgrade to Kuriegs. Americans are spoiled. The green space is very nice to hang out BTW!

We arrived around 5 PM and I went up to the desk. As the lady was leaving her office for the day. She told me that my key was sitting outside in a mailbox. And I was confused. We did get an email stating that check-in would be from 4 PM to 7 PM and that if we had an issue with that that we could give them a call. While we were within those times and she was leaving and she said well it's a holiday. So through hotels.com we put on there that there were five people, and they said that there were rollaway beds available. There were no rollaway beds. Apparently there were a couple and they are a small business and they cannot provide them for every single room. And that I needed to reserve them. Which is not what is stated online. I basically told her it was unacceptable. There is no way they should've let me put in for five people. I put the ages no way they should let me have five people in there without accommodating five people. And then I was told that when she called the owner that they didn't like my attitude. And they were thinking about just canceling us. Fourth of July weekend. Because she didn't like the way that I was upset about them, not providing what was stated. I have never been so mortified I was also told that I could go up to Meijer and purchase an air mattress. and purchase an air mattress. Which is what we did because we did not want our family member sleeping on a floor of a motel. We had a purchase an air mattress and a pump. Out of our pocket.

Rooms were small, we asked for a King and paid for a King, but got 2 queens, hotel was not full, only a few were occupied. Other than that it was nice but not sure it was worth $200 a night. And there was only one regular coffee packet. And office was closed in the morning.

It is a lovely inn located in the village of Elk Rapids. The management is friendly and attentive. Essential amenities were available to guests. The two stone fire pits were an excellent addition for guests to gather and unwind in the evening.

Kelsie the manager was awesome!! For a small roadside Inn, it was refurbished, comfortable, and a perfect place located close to town and the lakeshore. And since it rained the night of our stay the covered porch sitting was great for us girls to catch up and relax!! Thank you so much!!

This was such a cute quaint stay! We came up north to ski at Shanty/Schuss and were looking or a cost-effective place to crash for the night and this was the perfect spot! We were warmly greeted by name at 9:30pm when we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable and close to a cute downtown where we could grab coffee and breakfast. We highly recommend staying here!

The office was closed when I checked out so I used the drop box. What I wanted to tell them is that I was not supplied with any towels! It was not a big deal, but I don't be charged extra for missing towels.

We were looking forward to staying here but were slightly misled when we found out this property wasn’t next to the beach (photos are misleading, can take a long walk or short drive to a private beach for residents…) the room was small and cute but our room stayed damp our entire stay. To the point our slides had dew on them the next morning. Our bed felt wet. It was late by the time we got in for the night or else we would have complained to the office, we were hoping when we returned to our room it wouldn’t be but sadly it was. Not sure if the a/c had an issue but the quality and overall stay didn’t total up to the cost we paid for a night stay. The value just wasn’t there for us. We could have stayed downtown traverse city with a pool but we thought we would trade that for the beach. Overall we wouldn’t stay here again. The staff was friendly though.

We arrived at the Elk Rapids Lakeshore Inn in the evening and it was so quaint. We walked to the beach around dusk, about a block away through the trees and sat on the beach - it was beautiful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We’d stay here again!

This is a lovely, clean, cozy little option, very close to downtown Elk Rapids. We enjoyed the little fireplace, it was quiet and comfortable.

Nice place. It was convenient getting in and out. I’d like to see our office hours available particularly early in the morning for coffee. And you need to do something about the safety in your showers. Very slippery floor and no type of grab bars. You can buy them for $15-18 on Amazon. They stick on and I’ve been using them for 10 months without any of them coming investment event potentially serious and expensive accident.

This was a lucky find! Small, quiet, away from the melee, but clean, close to Elk Rapids, and what we needed for the night. Wonderful bonus was a 5- minute walk to a small, private beach. We took our complimentary coffee down to the water in the morning and enjoyed the serenity.
