We had a great stay at Dashel Cottage. The cottage is well equipped and perfectly placed for Exmoor adventures. Its a short walk down the farm track to valley footpath which takes you into Lynmouth or further into Exmoor. Lovely views from the cottage and outside area for eating and relaxing. Well placed for visits to Minehead, Dunster, inland Exmoor walking and the North Devon Coast. Loved having the fire going and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

This is a well appointed and high quality appointed cottage in a beautiful yet very convenient location. We stay in the area 2/3 times a year and this is the best yet. Everything you need for luxury self catering, but with no welcome pack, bring supplies of basics. Make sure you can access wi fi calling on your mobile in case you are unlucky with the signal. No noise from the working farm nearby. Don’t miss out on takeaways from The Esplanade Fish Bar in Lynmouth, or Nartnapa Thai in Barbrook. Good pub for lunch is the Exmoor Forest Inn, Simonsbath after a walk along the Barle river to Wheel Eliza.

Dashel Cottage is fabulous, clean, spacious and lovely and warm for our chilly end of February stay. Beds are comfy, showers great, everything we need in the kitchen and it was good to have plenty of logs for the burner. We appreciated the files of local walks and other information. Enclosed garden excellent for the dogs and access to farm fields for short walks was handy. But it is the location that makes this cottage outstanding, the views across the valley to the moor are stunning, every window, even the high ones have a view of the countryside. On a clear night the night sky is incredible. The best cottage I have ever stayed in (we did not want to leave) and we plan to come back next year.

It is a very picturesque area, but quite hilly. The property is very clean and has lovely comfortable beds and pillows. A nice enclosed garden, especially if you have dogs. There is no phone/text reception around the property. You have to go up to the top to the main road to get any.

Lovely cottage with great walks from the door. Originally a stable, Dachel Cottage has been superbly converted into a comfortable holiday home with top quality modern interior. Secure enclosed garden for children or dogs. We loved it!

Wonderful peaceful location, great walks available both from the property and Exmoor generally. The cottage was well appointed and beautifully warm. It is to be noted however there is no welcome hamper so you do need to arrive with the basics - some milk and tea/coffee etc if you want a cup of tea after a long drive! Despite this would definitely book Dashel Cottage in the future.

We had an enjoyable stay at Dashel cottage. The cottage is well equipped and had a lovely open planning living area. The enclosed garden was great for our dogs and there are lots of walks straight from the door. The views from the property are lovely. Unfortunately we weren't warned about the planned power outage from 0900-1630 on our second day, which made it a challenge with no electricity in the middle of January. It did give us the opportunity to visit Woolacombe beach for the day which was a wonderful place to walk the dogs. We would recommend the cottage especially if you are travelling with dogs.

Dashel is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We had a very comfortable week there despite the wind and rain. Plenty of walking from the cottage e.g. Lorna Done Valley and across Brendon Moor, and visits to Porlock to walk out over the marsh and along the shingle spit and Valley of the Rocks. Lighting the fire after a day out made the space warm and cosy.

Very well cared for property, clean, efficient and lovely to relax in. Garden stunning, watched woodpecker, house martins, rabbits each breakfast time. Location superb, views from property beautiful and 2 minutes walk away the whole valley open up.

We have just had a lovely holiday in this clean, comfortable and well equipped house, Ideal for enthusiastic walkers and those less mobile. Lovely enclosed garden looking out across the valley with lots of different views. Plenty of wildlife to watch while sitting in the sun. Perfectly positioned for exploring Exmoor on foot or by car.

We absolutely loved this place. Very well laid out cottage, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Extremely clean and comfortable, it really was a home away from home and the showers were amazing! Very well insulated and warm and the log burner was a lovely addition. Located in an extremely quiet and picturesque area, we would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for letting us stay at Dashel Cottage. It is in a great location with many footpaths and walking routes on your doorstep which we were lucky enough to enjoy along with the dogs. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped for our group of 6 people. A really lovely place to relax at the end of the day after long walks and exploring beautiful Exmoor.

No passing traffic, exceptionally quiet and plenty of walks from the doorstep.\r Easy to communicate with Christina and could not be better.\r Had the two grandson for the weekend and they loved walking in the fields and looking for the pheasants. \r One of those really genuine holiday destination, going to book for next June.

Only slight problem was the lack of clothes storage, just four coat hangers for a double room with a very small chest of drawers. Didn’t cause us much of a problem but a larger family might find it difficult. Having said that would definitely recommend the holiday home.

A beautiful part of our country, and the wind and rain (mostly overnight) didn't stop us exploring. The cottage is so cosy and we lacked for nothing, and the downstairs bedroom and bathroom were perfect for a 92-yr-old. We didn't drive up or down Porlock Hill but used the toll road which gave the most lovely views during a leisurely drive of 1 in 14 instead of 1 in 4 - well worth the experience and the toll road is in good condition - there are a couple of hairpin bends but plenty of passing places and viewing points.

The best cottage we have stayed in. The location was wonderful, so peaceful. We recommend downloading a birdsong identification app as the variety of birds is something else! The cottage has a very comfy bed and excellent shower. Well equipped with great kitchen appliances. Excellent WiFi. If you want to give your car a rest from the hills (!) the walks from the cottage are great.

We rent a cottage every New Year and have done since 1995 all over the UK. Dashel Cottage is the best yet. From the location with direct access by foot to the coast and the moors to the facilities in the house itself egs excellent beds, bathrooms (particularly showers), cooker and general ambience it will be hard to beat.

We enjoyed our stay at Dashel Cottage. It is comfortable, full of light and sunshine and close to some of Exmoor’s most beautiful areas. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden of a late afternoon, looking down the lovely wooded valley, watching the swallows and many other birds. It is so tranquil and a perfect place to unwind. We certainly intend to return.

We hired Dashel Cottage with two friends who are retired like us. It was utterly peaceful and we loved exploring Exmoor each day then returning in the evenings to dine in comfort in the cosy cottage. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms were perfect for our party and the cottage is so well fitted out and comfortable.

The cottage was very well appointed for exploring Exmoor but what really stood out was the fact it was so very quiet and peaceful. We had a glorious time relaxing and watching all the birds in and around the garden. You would think you were in the middle of nowhere when in actual fact you are a short drive up to the main A39 which made it a great base for exploring. Truth be told, you could stay all week and walk from the cottage in any direction without the need for a car. The cottage itself was really comfortable with lots of space and the owner was very helpful . Already booked again.

Cottage. Location absolutely superb.booking via verbo no problem. However dealings with Best of exmoor cottages need a lot to be desired. Hence went via verbo. As a high level uk travel professional myself i found best of exmoor cottages off-putting and certainly not a company i would consider using in the future. But the Cottage itself is excellent

Very nice cottage, well equipped and had log burner and supply of logs. Beds very comfortable and showers were excellent. Unfortunately we had heavy snow the first night and couldn’t explore the local area. Farmer kindly used his tractor to pull us up the drive to the main road when we left. Lovely rural area.

We had a great stay at Dashel Cottage. The cottage is well equipped and perfectly placed for Exmoor adventures. Its a short walk down the farm track to valley footpath which takes you into Lynmouth or further into Exmoor. Lovely views from the cottage and outside area for eating and relaxing. Well placed for visits to Minehead, Dunster, inland Exmoor walking and the North Devon Coast. Loved having the fire going and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

Beautiful remote location but Lynton, Porlock etc accessible easily by car. Enjoyed a relaxed week with friends. Amazing shower! Great BBQ! Would stay again.

It is a very picturesque area, but quite hilly. The property is very clean and has lovely comfortable beds and pillows. A nice enclosed garden, especially if you have dogs. There is no phone/text reception around the property. You have to go up to the top to the main road to get any.

Wonderful cottage with ideal location.\r Clean and smart, the ideal holiday property; at night it is pitch black and the stars shine even brighter. No passing traffic, exceptionally quiet and plenty of walks from the doorstep.\r Easy to communicate with Christina and could not be better.\r Had the two grandson for the weekend and they loved walking in the fields and looking for the pheasants. \r One of those really genuine holiday destination, going to book for next June.

Cottage. Location absolutely superb.booking via verbo no problem. However dealings with Best of exmoor cottages need a lot to be desired. Hence went via verbo. As a high level uk travel professional myself i found best of exmoor cottages off-putting and certainly not a company i would consider using in the future. But the Cottage itself is excellent

Very well cared for property, clean, efficient and lovely to relax in. Garden stunning, watched woodpecker, house martins, rabbits each breakfast time. Location superb, views from property beautiful and 2 minutes walk away the whole valley open up.

We hired Dashel Cottage with two friends who are retired like us. It was utterly peaceful and we loved exploring Exmoor each day then returning in the evenings to dine in comfort in the cosy cottage. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms were perfect for our party and the cottage is so well fitted out and comfortable.

We loved our stay at Dashel. A beautiful quiet location but still really reachable to so many great places. The cottage was spotless and it’s was great to explore the farm with my little boy. We will definitely be coming back again.

Everything you need for luxury self catering, but with no welcome pack, bring supplies of basics. Make sure you can access wi fi calling on your mobile in case you are unlucky with the signal. No noise from the working farm nearby. Don’t miss out on takeaways from The Esplanade Fish Bar in Lynmouth, or Nartnapa Thai in Barbrook. Good pub for lunch is the Exmoor Forest Inn, Simonsbath after a walk along the Barle river to Wheel Eliza.

Really good location central to Lynton and Porlock. Lovely food at both the Blue Ball inn and the Ship in Porlock. If you wish to drink taxi from Lynton are available. The cottage was well equipped and very quiet. We would recommend.
