It was just a nice place to stay. Fairly even being next to the road. Clean. More than 2 coffee pods! Bonus!! I like that I can park my bike right in front of the unit. Not the Hilton. But for the price it’s pretty top notch. A few minor nit picks. Nothing significant enough to list. Would stay again.

Loved the outdoor space, we used the grill and enjoyed eating in the cover area outside with picnic tables. The room was clean and had good space. My only complaint was the bed was too firm.

Great experience at this clean and comfortable cabin. Our room was on the end of the cabin. Parking in front of our door was great and the option to sit outside on the chairs of the front porch was a nice bonus. Loved the smart tv. Air conditioning worked excellent. Great mini fridge. Large bathroom which was ultra clean and towels galore were provided. Would be glad to stay here again.

We stayed in cabin #5, there was 3 bedrooms with queen size beds in each room. Nothing fancy but very comfortable. There was a microwave and mini fridge but be aware of no cooking facilities or dishes. This worked fine for us as we had cereal and donuts for breakfast and we made sandwiches and had snacks in the evening when we got back from sightseeing for the day. There is a bbq grill but no utensils to use. We were still able to bbq hot dogs with what we had with. There is a grocery store and gas station less then a 1/4 mile away. Parking was directly in front of cabin. Cons: no end tables or night stands, no washclothes but lots of towels.

This was my first experience in a cabin vs usually camping or a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised there were the amenities like like plates, cups, bowls, utensils, toaster, grill and dish soap to clean the dishes. Be aware the bathroom soap they privide is just a few small bar soaps, no actual shampoo/conditioner, so bring your own. The cabin we stayed in was small and had a camper type shower, but it was perfect for our needs and the shower was surprisingly good water pressure and lots of hot water! Although we found lots of dead bugs on the floor, that probably comes with the territory of a cabin. My only real con was the door/lock. The actual door knob was almost falling off the door and useless. It had this deadbolt like lock that was the main lock but you needed to be careful to not close the door all the way if you went outside becasue it was always locked, not a way to unlock, so you could lock yourself out. It seemed like the cabin was tilting a bit, probably from age/settling but this resulted in the door not having a good fit on the frame so there was a good half inch gap on the top/side of the door where you could clearly see outside. The old lock situation didnt really make us feel secure in that regards. I loved the deck and it was beautiful with the trees. Keep in mind this is right next to the highway so the traffic is pretty loud when you are outside or have the windows open. Sound was fine inside. Aside from the door issue, would definitely stay here again.

What an amazing find! I've driven past so many times and was so excited to finally get to stay here. The hotel is right outside of downtown Lead and only 2 miles from Deadwood; parking in front of the cabin is guaranteed and the self check-in was perfect. I got an e-mail with the check-in information and a follow up text which was a pleseant surprise. The room itself was comfortable and the ambiance was perfect. Will definitely be back.

We never saw or met anyone who worked there, but it wasn't necessary because of the excellent communication we received before checking in. We were provided with a phone number to text if we had any needs or questions and our text was returned promptly. We found the room spotlessly clean and in good condition. We especially enjoyed the front porch with the comfortable chairs where we could sit and watch the world go by with a backdrop of beautiful ponderosa pine trees. We recommend this place!

Loved the location, had to self check-in as they were short staffed, but it went smooth. Parking lot is a little small for long pickup trucks. Bed was not too stiff, but also not soft. The floors could’ve used a good mopping… they didn’t feel clean at all. Otherwise, cozy!

Tucked into a hillside, Ponderosa Pines lives up to its name as it’s surrounded by forest. A small stream runs in front of the property, and deer stroll the hills. The experience was like an updated old-school camp. Cabins and lodges are accurately pictured online. Ours was comfortable and clean. The room layout in ours (#15) was a little awkward and could benefit from a chair and bedside table. Water was hot, pillows comfortable, and services like groceries and dining were just minutes away. And it was quiet too in spite of the motorcycle rally.

Great stay overall! Very cozy and well furnished! would have loved to stay longer! Comfortable beds and beautiful setting! The shower was a bit underpowered to put it nicely but we managed. Would definitely stay here again!

Very cute little cabins. The property owners are so nice. Beds are very hard but everything is clean and the area is great. When we pulled into the parking lot there was a deer just hanging out. The tv was nice, it even had cable. They also had essentials to cook if desired and a big grill on the deck. If in the area, I would book again.

The rooms are lovely and beds very comfortable. The only negative thing is they are not individual cabins…it is more like a log motel and the walls are thin. Otherwise it’s lovely and convenient to have your vehicle right out front your door. Very close to Deadwood for all your touristy activities. Recommend and would stay again!

Comfortable bed. Clean. Would be nice to have a small table and chairs in the room. We stayed in #14 outlets by the bed were loose but did work for charging our phones. Would stay again Saw a deer close by in the morning ! Had to try a few times to get in. Finally tried the check mark before 4#’s

The motels are great. Nice showers, Kurig coffee, clean beds, however the walls are very thin and I could hear everything the neighbors were doing or watching on TV.

The property was fairly clean, but old / run down. No staff onsite. No cleaning services offered / available during our stay. Limited amount of clean towels were provided at the beginning of the stay, however, nothing additional provided. This was our first time staying at this property. While it worked for our needs at the time, I'd prefer to spend the money on a nicer room with additional amenities. Staff / communication was via email or text only.

When we arrived we had been told our room would be open with keys inside but the door to the room was locked and no one was in the office but after I was connected with the manager through the doorbell on the office it was not long before someone arrived to unlock the door and the manager was apologetic

We booked our room last minute on a long cross-country road trip & Carol was lovely and helpful arranging for out late check-in to make it as easy as possible. The room was warm and cozy and welcoming, spotlessly clean, and the bed was comfortable with nice comfy pillows, linens & blankets. Great! We’d definitely go back!

We never saw or met anyone who worked there, but it wasn't necessary because of the excellent communication we received before checking in. We were provided with a phone number to text if we had any needs or questions and our text was returned promptly. We found the room spotlessly clean and in good condition. We especially enjoyed the front porch with the comfortable chairs where we could sit and watch the world go by with a backdrop of beautiful ponderosa pine trees. We recommend this place!

Tucked into a hillside, Ponderosa Pines lives up to its name as it’s surrounded by forest. A small stream runs in front of the property, and deer stroll the hills. The experience was like an updated old-school camp. Cabins and lodges are accurately pictured online. Ours was comfortable and clean. The room layout in ours (#15) was a little awkward and could benefit from a chair and bedside table. Water was hot, pillows comfortable, and services like groceries and dining were just minutes away. And it was quiet too in spite of the motorcycle rally.

In town for a Jeep event and it was the perfect location for us. Very convent to groceries, hardware store, food options, and the car wash (great for washing off after off-roading). Check in was fantastic, as the very nice lady took us to our room to make sure it suited our needs. She offered to show us a cabin, but since we would be out and about everyday, we really just wanted a place to sleep and shower. We stayed four nights and the beds were super comfortable! She checked in with us if she saw us outside to make sure we didn’t need anything and how the stay was going. Gave 4/5 for facilities, due to bathroom fixtures in need of updating (toilet, sink, bath/shower), but met our needs. Recommended and would stay again!

This place is close to everything and far enough away to not be affected by the busyness that is Lead and Deadwood. I love being near the woods and mountains but where it is quiet and peaceful. This is a no frills, down to earth kind of place and I love it!

It was very echo friendly cuz there was very little hot water flow in the shower.!?!? The hair dryer didn't work. It was almost impossible to drain sink. No one to check us in and we did not notice the email prior. However, the room was quiet, charming and homing. The location was good. PS instruction would be helpful at coffee maker.

It was just a nice place to stay. Fairly even being next to the road. Clean. More than 2 coffee pods! Bonus!! I like that I can park my bike right in front of the unit. Not the Hilton. But for the price it’s pretty top notch. A few minor nit picks. Nothing significant enough to list. Would stay again.

Great experience at this clean and comfortable cabin. Our room was on the end of the cabin. Parking in front of our door was great and the option to sit outside on the chairs of the front porch was a nice bonus. Loved the smart tv. Air conditioning worked excellent. Great mini fridge. Large bathroom which was ultra clean and towels galore were provided. Would be glad to stay here again.

We stayed in cabin #5, there was 3 bedrooms with queen size beds in each room. Nothing fancy but very comfortable. There was a microwave and mini fridge but be aware of no cooking facilities or dishes. This worked fine for us as we had cereal and donuts for breakfast and we made sandwiches and had snacks in the evening when we got back from sightseeing for the day. There is a bbq grill but no utensils to use. We were still able to bbq hot dogs with what we had with. There is a grocery store and gas station less then a 1/4 mile away. Parking was directly in front of cabin. Cons: no end tables or night stands, no washclothes but lots of towels.

We stayed 3 nights here and it was everything we needed. Location was great. Cabin was small but for just 2 of us, it was fine and cozy. Little bit of dust bunnies behind bedroom door, could use a little deep cleaning but overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. This was my first experience in a cabin vs usually camping or a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised there were the amenities like like plates, cups, bowls, utensils, toaster, grill and dish soap to clean the dishes. Be aware the bathroom soap they privide is just a few small bar soaps, no actual shampoo/conditioner, so bring your own. The cabin we stayed in was small and had a camper type shower, but it was perfect for our needs and the shower was surprisingly good water pressure and lots of hot water! Although we found lots of dead bugs on the floor, that probably comes with the territory of a cabin. My only real con was the door/lock. The actual door knob was almost falling off the door and useless. It had this deadbolt like lock that was the main lock but you needed to be careful to not close the door all the way if you went outside becasue it was always locked, not a way to unlock, so you could lock yourself out. It seemed like the cabin was tilting a bit, probably from age/settling but this resulted in the door not having a good fit on the frame so there was a good half inch gap on the top/side of the door where you could clearly see outside. The old lock situation didnt really make us feel secure in that regards. I loved the deck and it was beautiful with the trees. Keep in mind this is right next to the highway so the traffic is pretty loud when you are outside or have the windows open. Sound was fine inside. Aside from the door issue, would definitely stay here again.

The room looked NOTHING like the pictures. The floor was sloped in the bedroom so the door would just swing open. The bathroom door knob from the bedroom was super loose and was afraid it was going to fall off. The floor between the transition from bedroom to bathroom was soft and so was the kitchen floor. There was supposed to be a couch in the living room and there wasn't. You cant open any of the windows and there's only AC in the living room which is a mute point if you have other family staying in that room and you have to shut the bedroom door for privacy. There are no side tables anywhere and my husband couldn't use his CPAP because it wouldn't reach the bed from the floor. This place could be a real gem if they actually put a more accommodating effort into it. I wouldn't recommend, nor stay there again..... EVER

Loved this location. Great communication from staff. Fire pit had everything we needed for a bon fire. There is a lovely creek nearby as well as a picnic table up in the trees. We will stay again!

Mouse droppings… EVERYWHERE! I know it’s a dry year. I know mice are working hard. But this place was NOT clean. Smelled bad, very dirty smelling. Saw a mouse in the living room. There’s mouse poop all over everything. In every room. The mice were eating the toilet paper. It was so bad we had to leave and didn’t stay there.
