One of the best stays i had on this trip. Checkin on ground floor of the boutique, but given the access code if after hours. Gorgeous hostoric building, great location. Ask for room 5, loved it. Street is a little noisy, especially when the cleaners come by at 6, but they provide both a white noise machine and ear plugs if needed. Host very personable and friendly, and had good Engliah. If I come back, i wont bother searching for places, ill just come back here.

A beautiful historic building (with stairs), warm and welcoming hosts, a clean and comfortable room, a nice breakfast with local products. Near numerous bars and restaurants, all the shops and the chateau. Underground parkade is nearby. I would happily stay there again.

Good position for viewing town. Had to move out after one night due to poor access to room six flights of narrow twisting stairs with poor handrail and inadequate lighting. Not a good choice if you have any mobility issues.

Wonderful old wood frame structure- be prepared for a narrow climb with luggage. Host Johanna was extremely helpful and attentive to any request or need. Also in a great location near cathedral, castle and restaurants.

This is a beautifully unique property. Well equipped bedroom in a wonderfully characterful building. We were on the top floor with views of the cathedral. The stairs are great exercise too!

what a beautiful and charming little hotel. everything was lovely and staying right in the centre of ikd town in a place built in the 16th century was superb. Agathe, the hostess attended to any needs, breakfast was perfect and the room was very large even by American standards. Parking is about 50 meters away in a very large underground public lot. The castle is maybe 150 meters away and the town center maybe 100 meters. Can't wait ti return to Angers and stay here again.

Séjour express pour nous mais nous avons passé une très bonne nuit dans la chambre "la volière". Idéalement situé en plein cœur d'Angers. Demeure historique incroyablement bien conservée et rénovée avec goût. Chambre tout confort et très propre. Possibilité de boissons et grignotage dans la cuisine/salle de petit-déjeuner au RDC. Petit-déjeuner de qualité. Accueil et service très agréable et efficace. Je recommande à 100%.

Historic timber frame building (16-17th century?) but nicely renovated with all amenities. Very spacious rooms, ours had an interesting view. Super friendly hostess, fluent in English, good breakfast available for reasonable fee. Convenient to underground parking in town center and near all the sights (Apocalypse Tapestry worth the trip on its own!) Note that there is a steep wooden staircase in central atrium to rooms if that is a problem-- but for us added to experience of going back in time.

Very unique rustic place. The stairs up to the higher floor is very steep Could be challenging. You need to have connectivity in order to communicate with the front desk which is open only at certain time and on demand

I have left very positive reviews on other sites relating to this superb property. Words can hardly describe how unique staying here is. 100% score for everything. Our hosts were charming. Excellent breakfast, access to the kitchen for guests. Very good shopping close by with many small shops and a Monoprix. Think carefully before booking if you have mobility issues (there is no lift.....for reasons which are obvious bearing in mind the character of the building)......roof beams are quite low in some rooms. I only hit my head 6 times over 4 days! An excellent location, in the heart of the old part of Angers yet close to the vibrant atmosphere of what is essentially a 'young' city and within easy walking distance of a range of historic buildings, churches and museums. Walking distance from railway station.

A warm friendly welcome when we arrived and we arrived early and the room was available. The breakfast was excellent including freshly made crepes and yoghurt. It was in a good central location. You need a reasonable level of fitness as there are quite a few stairs if you are in a room on level three. The place is charming with many original features from the sixteenth century but with really modern features such as up to date bathrooms. Hosts Marlene and Johanna were professional and charming hosts.

The hostesses are charming, light up the face and helped to find places and restaurants that were excellent. The room is special, equipped, beautiful and clean. Located in the center and all the sites are close. The environment is vibrant and full of life. We would have stayed another time.

Fabulous old building and good location for everything to visit historic center. Marlene was great and very helpful and breakfast was super. Caution though, steps are very steep and hard for 70 year olds with bad hips but charming room was so worth it! Room was large, linens great and full of character. Would totally recommend for stay in Angers.

We loved staying here. It was a treat to stay in such a historic building. The hosts were wonderful, so warm and kind. We stayed in the very top suite (l’oisellerie) which involved a lot of stairs, but it was quiet and atmospheric. The bed was amazing, and the continental breakfast with little crepes was very nice. There are excellent restaurants just down the street, and all of the sights are a very short walk away.

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits dans la chambre la Volière et c'était un véritable ravissement, la chambre est très grande et le luxe est de séjourner dans un bâtiment historique unique qui vous ramène à la fin du moyen âge avec une vue directe sur la cathédrale. L'établissement est incroyablement bien situé pour visiter tout le quartier historique ,sans parler de l'accueil très chaleureux de l'une des propriétaires Marlène.
Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits dans la chambre la Volière et c'était un véritable ravissement, la chambre est très grande et le luxe est de séjourner dans un bâtiment historique unique qui vous ramène à la fin du moyen âge avec une vue directe sur la cathédrale. L'établissement est incroyablement bien situé pour visiter tout le quartier historique ,sans parler de l'accueil très chaleureux de l'une des propriétaires Marlène.

Yes, the breakfast was fresh and delicious, with lot of handmade food from local suppliers. Johanna, was very kind, and answered all our questions, regarding sight seeing, restaurants etc.

Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel in a magnificent historic building. Good communication for access to the hotel and clear instruction. Room was decorated with class and style and property in general is such a unique place. Joanna was really nice and helpful and the breakfast was delicious with lots of local products. Will definitely go back.

Marlene and Johanna made our quick stay most enjoyable and relaxed. Very convenient for site seeing and to visit part of the city. Close to water and shopping area. Very pleasant stay. Highly recommend.

We loved staying here. It was a treat to stay in such a historic building. The hosts were wonderful, so warm and kind. We stayed in the very top suite (l’oisellerie) which involved a lot of stairs, but it was quiet and atmospheric. The bed was amazing, and the continental breakfast with little crepes was very nice. There are excellent restaurants just down the street, and all of the sights are a very short walk away.

what a beautiful and charming little hotel. everything was lovely and staying right in the centre of ikd town in a place built in the 16th century was superb. Agathe, the hostess attended to any needs, breakfast was perfect and the room was very large even by American standards. Parking is about 50 meters away in a very large underground public lot. The castle is maybe 150 meters away and the town center maybe 100 meters. Can't wait ti return to Angers and stay here again.

Séjour express pour nous mais nous avons passé une très bonne nuit dans la chambre "la volière". Idéalement situé en plein cœur d'Angers. Demeure historique incroyablement bien conservée et rénovée avec goût. Chambre tout confort et très propre. Possibilité de boissons et grignotage dans la cuisine/salle de petit-déjeuner au RDC. Petit-déjeuner de qualité. Accueil et service très agréable et efficace. Je recommande à 100%.

Marlene and Johanna made our quick stay most enjoyable and relaxed. Very convenient for site seeing and to visit part of the city. Close to water and shopping area. Very pleasant stay. Highly recommend.

Historic timber frame building (16-17th century?) but nicely renovated with all amenities. Very spacious rooms, ours had an interesting view. Super friendly hostess, fluent in English, good breakfast available for reasonable fee. Convenient to underground parking in town center and near all the sights (Apocalypse Tapestry worth the trip on its own!) Note that there is a steep wooden staircase in central atrium to rooms if that is a problem-- but for us added to experience of going back in time.

This property was an excellent find. Middle ages home with the best modern touches. Our host was so accomodating and extreamly friendly. She made us breakfast and was there for anything we may need. An EXCELLENT little gem in the heart of downtown.

Yes, the breakfast was fresh and delicious, with lot of handmade food from local suppliers. Johanna, was very kind, and answered all our questions, regarding sight seeing, restaurants etc.

A warm friendly welcome when we arrived and we arrived early and the room was available. The breakfast was excellent including freshly made crepes and yoghurt. It was in a good central location. You need a reasonable level of fitness as there are quite a few stairs if you are in a room on level three. The place is charming with many original features from the sixteenth century but with really modern features such as up to date bathrooms. Hosts Marlene and Johanna were professional and charming hosts.

Having never been to Angers before, there’s always a risk in booking, but we were not disappointed in any way. This quaint, charming hotel was fabulous and amazingly quirky. If a step back in time was what we were looking for….. we got it. The fresh breakfast was incredible and great value too. The owners were delightfully chatty and only too happy to help. Cannot rate this place nightly enough

Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel in a magnificent historic building. Good communication for access to the hotel and clear instruction. Room was decorated with class and style and property in general is such a unique place. Joanna was really nice and helpful and the breakfast was delicious with lots of local products. Will definitely go back.

What a beautiful hotel! And Johanna was the perfect host from start to finish. So welcoming and able to accommodate an earlier than normal check-in. Breakfast was delicious and it was lovely to hear the story behind the hotel renovation. Truly one of the loveliest hotel experiences we have had and will be our first choice for any return visit to Angers. Thanks Johanna fir making our stay so special!

We had a delightful time staying here. Personally, I like staying near the historic city center in a historic building. There was no air conditioning, but with windows open we were fine despite a heat wave while we were there. Staff was very kind, helping us plan our activities while in Angers. I hope to have the opportunity to stay there again.

Wonderful mix of modern amenities in an historic building. The location was perfect - an easy walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was amazing - couldn't have asked for nicer people.
