Noord-Hollands Hof Dream

Kurzurlaub für 3 Nächte. Es ist ein Apartment auf einem Bauernhof im Gebäude über dem Stall. Das heißt somit auch Stallgeruch und Insekten. Die Fenster haben Fliegengitter. Der Aufgang zum Apartment und die Treppen innerhalb zum Schlafbereich sind ziemlich steil. Handtücher und Bettwäsche wurde gestellt. Geschirr und Töpfe sind ausreichend vorhanden. Leider haben wir die Vermieter nicht kennengelernt, aber die Kommunikation und Übergabe etc. verlief reibungslos. Wir waren zufrieden. Die Lage ist günstig nach Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans und die Gegend.

Wir haben uns vor allem auf die Milchprodukte gefreut, leider werden diese nicht mehr am Hof verkauft. Wir haben das Beste aus dem Urlaub gemacht, aber wenn man nicht einmal eine Pfanne benutzen kann (schmutzig und abgenutzt) um ein Ei zu braten ist das schade :-(

It all looked so perfect on VRBO, but it sure wasn’t. First of all, the smell from the barn was strong (expected some smell), and there was so much dust and so many cobwebs inside, that it was like Halloween decor. The bathroom was clean except for a giant cobweb over the shower that had its own “pulse”. I guess the breeze rustles through the ceiling above it and caused the web to look like it’s breathing. The owner promised us a tour of the farm before arrival and again upon arrival…it never happened. Then on day two, the mice started (I say started because that is when I noticed them)! I have video of three encounters with them and several more not recorded. Could this happen to anyone? Heck, yes, but don’t “ghost” me for hours when I contact you on VRBO, WhatsApp, AND text message! She finally came several hours later with fish nets and two mouse traps, and tells me….(can’t make this stuff up), “It’s a working farm, you should expect mice.” WHAT?? Ummm, NO! IF I was to expect mice, I would EXPECT to have been told beforehand, and I would EXPECT traps would have already been set out! So at the time that the landlord showed up on day two with the two mouse traps, I had only seen one mouse at that point, but then there were TWO more spotted on the stove and kitchen counter soon after the owner left. I was totally freaked out!! I caught them on video and sent them to the owner as well. No response for several hours AGAIN, and then the only response was, “Not home.” NEVER heard back from them at all after that and we were there for another day and a half. When we left, we left the mouse droppings on the kitchen counter since there was NO way we could eat there for the rest of our stay, anyway, and we also left the dead mouse in the trap on the kitchen counter. Absolutely horrible!!! No sleep for two nights as every little noise, and there were lots with the hot water radiator pipes expanding and contracting (which was not a problem just letting you know about the scratching and ticking sounds that could’ve been mice to us) and the loud mooing of the cows (which we really wanted to see). I have pics and video of all of this nastiness. I will say the place is quite large and the layout is fantastic, but the rodent infestation needs dealt with! The location was fun in the country and only about 20 mins to the city or 12 mins to the train station by car.

Die Ferienwohnung liegt auf der Hausrückseite direkt neben dem Stall und der Eingang in die Ferienwohnung geht durch ein Funktionsraum auf einer vLichtrosttreppe nach oben. Der Stall ist in der Küche nur durch eine Holztür und einem kleinen Gang getrennt und dadurch der Geruch sehr stark. Der Gartenist schön fotogrfiert, aber es zeigt nicht den Blick auf die Mülltonnen, das Plumsklo und gelegentlich auf Wäsche. Auf der Holzsitzbank kann niemand mehr sitzen. Alles andere als einladend.Es stehen aber andere Sitzmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung. Das Fließ vor dem Haus ist sehr schön-wir haben uns alles dahin getragen. Die Vermieterin war sehr nett. Die Wohnung ist schön groß und die Betten richtig gemütlich.Insgesamt haben wir uns aber leider nicht wohl gefühlt, obwohl wir oft Urlaub auf Bauernhöfen machen.

Wir sind Angler und die Gegend wirklich super. Die Wohnung ist geräumig aber im Sommer wohl etwas zu warm. Eine Klima wäre super. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden.
