We loved how close we were to Monastiraki Square. So many food options and shopping nearby. We loved we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. We did eat breakfast at the cafe downstairs all 3 days and the food was great. The host, Anna, was great and super nice. I wasnt feeling well our 2nd day and she offered the kitchen to make a chicken soup if I wanted. The bar on the roof was very lively and we did hear the sounds of chairs scraping from our room but it didn't bother us.

Sehr zentrale Unterkunft in Athen, charmant, große Zimmer, unten im Haus gibt es eine Wein-Bar, die zum Haus gehört und in der man gut frühstücken kann. Viele Restaurants, Geschäfte und Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe, alles zu Fuß zu erreichen. Auch sehr gut gelegen zur U-Bahn Richtung Flughafen und Richtung Piräus.

The hotel was not as it appeared online. Room like a dorm room, Elevator to our tiny room was hot and small, barely 2 people could fit into it. There was no door on the elevator, only the outer door. The worker did not show how to get out, we were stuck until someone came to use it and opened it. We were not told when rooftop bar opened so we went and it was padlocked. When we were told hours and went later it was nice, best part of hotel. Very poor communication from staff, we always had to chase them down to ask. Door to hotel big and hard to open, hotel entry dirty and unkept, dated. We will not return.

The Monk Suites are smack bang in the popular centre of Athens as such the amount paid for the rooms is reflected in the facilities. I was told that the arrangements for check would be sent to me on the morning of check in. I received a message asking when I was due to arrive but nothing else. As this facility has no reception this seemed a problem. Having asked the bar staff one of them contacted the manager and check in instructions were received quickly. This is good but after a hot and stressful day of travelling the last thing needed. In a room almost entirely of concrete sounds travel and unfortunately some other guests didn't realise that and were making noise through the night leading to a disturbance during sleep. Finally, on the second and third nights there was no hot water for a refreshing shower, simply a must in a hot climate such as Athens.

Place and area is perfect, the only problem we had, was that of 4 days, only 1 was the hot water on. Maybe there was a problem, but it was annoying. the rest is very nice.

The room was spacious and modern. Only a couple of blocks from the Metro and close to everything. Costas checked me in and remembered my name throughout the visit. The rooftop bar is a bonus! Highly recommended!

Nice hotel in a quiet central location! Big cozy rooms for a good price. They have a nice roof top bar. We checked out at 11:00 and our flight was at 23:00. Anna offered us another room for late check out but we didn't use it as we had other plans! Thanks Anna!

This property is all about location. The room itself is very basic, but you can’t beat being in such close proximity to the Acropolis and the museum (8 mins and 15 mins each). We arrived late around 10pm and the nice lady from the restaurant was able to check us in. Had we arrived later, there was a code to enter the main entrance; however, the instructions were not clear on how we would get our keys. There is a rooftop bar that, unfortunately, is very loud. If you’re looking for a quiet place to sleep after 9 pm, this might not be the place for you. We were staying on the third floor, and from 9-1am ish we heard the music and the re-arrangement of the chairs. We didn’t mind it at first, but it can get annoying. Lastly, the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. We got a free glass of wine from the restaurant and returned later for more drinks before heading to the airport. We might consider staying here again, mostly for the convenient location.

The location was great near all the tourist attractions checkin was simple… the downside there were ants in the room… which came from window….. I told the front desk they got rid of them quickly…. And just became a nuisance because I couldn’t put anything on the floor. I didn’t wanna take those little things home with me.

The hotel is located in the center of Monastiraki close to everything. Its clean, nice rooms, friendly staff. Its a place I would gladly recommend to friends. 10 out of 10.

The location is very convenient and with in walking distance of almost every attraction that you want to see in Athens. The only complaints we really had about this hotel is that they put stained sheets on our bed. We were confused on why they would think that was ok. Also, checking in is a pain in the butt because there is no front desk. You are kind of left waiting around trying to figure out what to do until someone shows up at the door.

Avoid this hotel. Yes, the location is great, but it won't be possible to sleep. The music is not even the problem.The rooftop bar has no insulation whatsoever so you will enjoy chairs being dragged back and forth until 2am non-stop and all other noises due to having a bar just above you. Also guests to the rooftop bar are walking through the hotel corridors,screaming and yelling. Noone is controlling that, no security at the door, nothing. Btw, the so secret code for the entrance which guests are asked not to share with others, is left on a printout that every visitors to the bar can see, next to the couches on the first landing, just that you feel safe! not that a code was needed to get in, as the door was ajar also at 16:00 when I arrived (with noone on the premises, complete desert around, no staff, nobody for help); as the keys are left in the doors, you can feel safety is very important at this place. The doors to the rooms are also thin and the springs heavy, so you also hear every single guests coming in and out. The room was in need of several fixings (the towel rack in the shower was holding on 2 screws out of 4, again safety, the shower floor is slippery) and a bit extra cleaning (found black hair everywhere in the bathroom). Also interesting how the phone number on Expedia is not the one left at the hotel to call for help. The lady at the "Expedia phone" could speak a broken English which did not help.

The rooms looked like in the photo. Eventhough there was no reception, Anna via WhatsApp was very helpful. Easy check in and out. The shower was nice however the room 6, didn’t have glass door wide enough all the floor would get flooded. The bathroom also had a bit of sewer smell. The room was big and aircon working. I read privious reviews of the bar noise till 2am, I brought earplugs and the noise didn’t bother me. The location is amazing walkable to all attar rooms lots of restaurants and shops.

Het gehele hotel heeft verouderd kozijn werk waardoor geluid alle kanten de kamer in komt. Het Hotel heeft een dakterras met bar en eetgelegenheid. Iedereen die daar weggaat heeft geen idee dat ze een enorme herrie veroorzaken in het hotel. Daarna gaat het personeel nog opruimen wat tot ver in de nacht lawaai opleverd. Ik heb 5 nachten geboekt, kamer is niet 1 keer gereinigd, wel 2 keer schone handdoeken gehad. Bij betreden van de kamer lagen er zwarte haren in de badkamer, denk dat ze er nu nog liggen! Nee, geen aanrader als accomodatie!

Brilliant location, close to metro station and historical buildings. Easy access to the shopping streets too. Slight issues with noise during my stay (if your window looks over the small courtyard there is a dozen or so aircon units and the sound is amplified) plus the internet signal was week. However for a short stay it is good value for the price.

This is an amazing hotel. The outside looks like boutique and antique looking. When you enter the room may surprise you. It’s a retro design, modern and very spacious. This was the best hotel in Athens. Recommend highly and location is in the heart of the city.

A place for people who don't go to bed before 1 and get up early. In the evening there is a lot of noise from the restaurants and bars. And some traffic noise too. And in the morning noise from deliveries. Staff (Anna) was great. Location is very good with most attractions within walking distance.

Location, location, location! This hotel is very well located, close to allthe sights and amenuities. Older building, well renovated. Room is small, but has all you need, including a wonderful rain shower. Amazing service from the host, although not on site.

The room had only a small window to the outside with a large AC engine a few meters away. So the room was dark and noisy. Also, one could hear the noisy terrace where people stayed until 3 AM and the sound insulation was bad and one could hear everything when people were typing the code to enter the corridor or their room. We had to ask three times before we were provided with a blanket as there was none in the room. So great location but not conducive to a relaxing stay

Nice accomodations. VERY friendly receptive and kind. Rooms were nice but the noise and music from rooftop bar was obnoxious kind of not sure I understand why hotel guests have to endure the noise..oh well!

The location is very convenient and with in walking distance of almost every attraction that you want to see in Athens. The only complaints we really had about this hotel is that they put stained sheets on our bed. We were confused on why they would think that was ok. Also, checking in is a pain in the butt because there is no front desk. You are kind of left waiting around trying to figure out what to do until someone shows up at the door.

A place for people who don't go to bed before 1 and get up early. In the evening there is a lot of noise from the restaurants and bars. And some traffic noise too. And in the morning noise from deliveries. Staff (Anna) was great. Location is very good with most attractions within walking distance.

The hotel was not as it appeared online. Room like a dorm room, Elevator to our tiny room was hot and small, barely 2 people could fit into it. There was no door on the elevator, only the outer door. The worker did not show how to get out, we were stuck until someone came to use it and opened it. We were not told when rooftop bar opened so we went and it was padlocked. When we were told hours and went later it was nice, best part of hotel. Very poor communication from staff, we always had to chase them down to ask. Door to hotel big and hard to open, hotel entry dirty and unkept, dated. We will not return.

Location, location, location! This hotel is very well located, close to allthe sights and amenuities. Older building, well renovated. Room is small, but has all you need, including a wonderful rain shower. Amazing service from the host, although not on site.

The Monk Suites are smack bang in the popular centre of Athens as such the amount paid for the rooms is reflected in the facilities. I was told that the arrangements for check would be sent to me on the morning of check in. I received a message asking when I was due to arrive but nothing else. As this facility has no reception this seemed a problem. Having asked the bar staff one of them contacted the manager and check in instructions were received quickly. This is good but after a hot and stressful day of travelling the last thing needed. In a room almost entirely of concrete sounds travel and unfortunately some other guests didn't realise that and were making noise through the night leading to a disturbance during sleep. Finally, on the second and third nights there was no hot water for a refreshing shower, simply a must in a hot climate such as Athens.

When I made the reservation, the check in procedure was specified on hotels.com. No desk at this place. They would reach out 24 hours prior with instructions on how to check in. 24 hours prior I got no instructions so I emailed. No response. Upon arrival from New York still no email so I reached out again. No answer. They didn’t reach out until 1:41 in the afternoon saying the room was ready and how to access it. by then I had lost any faith that they were going to reach out at all and had gotten another hotel. When I informed them how upset we were and that we had already checked into another hotel, no apology for never answering or reaching out the way they were supposed to. Their response was more like ‘why would you do such a thing?’ Maybe it was because we were exhausted from an overnight flight wandering around Athens wondering if we had a place to stay and whether they might reach out to us. Needless to say they simply kept all our money with nothing close to an attempt to care. We travel a lot and never experienced anything like this. We are staying at four other hotels during this trip and all of them have already reached out to make sure everything is seamless.

Brilliant location, close to metro station and historical buildings. Easy access to the shopping streets too. Slight issues with noise during my stay (if your window looks over the small courtyard there is a dozen or so aircon units and the sound is amplified) plus the internet signal was week. However for a short stay it is good value for the price.

Anna was the absolute best, let us know about restaurants in the area and excursions. Had a fantastic time with family, when I come back hope to stay at Monk Monastiraki Suites. Where we stayed walked to the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Hadrian's Library.

A 2 minute walk to Monastiraki Square puts you in the heart of Athens. Staying here made everything on the north side of the acropolis withing walking distance. The staff is nice and general manager is very willing to help you with tips and suggestions.

We loved how close we were to Monastiraki Square. So many food options and shopping nearby. We loved we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. We did eat breakfast at the cafe downstairs all 3 days and the food was great. The host, Anna, was great and super nice. I wasnt feeling well our 2nd day and she offered the kitchen to make a chicken soup if I wanted. The bar on the roof was very lively and we did hear the sounds of chairs scraping from our room but it didn't bother us.

Friendly staff, good vibe and great location - loved the rooftop bar. Stayed for 4 nights and didn’t receive any house keeping - no towel change or rubbish emptied etc.

The room was spacious and modern. Only a couple of blocks from the Metro and close to everything. Costas checked me in and remembered my name throughout the visit. The rooftop bar is a bonus! Highly recommended!

Nice hotel in a quiet central location! Big cozy rooms for a good price. They have a nice roof top bar. We checked out at 11:00 and our flight was at 23:00. Anna offered us another room for late check out but we didn't use it as we had other plans! Thanks Anna!

This place was incredible. It’s not a hotel, but you check in and out with the restaurant/bar downstairs. There’s an elevator and the suites are very safe. The room itself is gorgeous. Huge, great design, amazing bathroom. Honestly, was so impressed with the quality of this place. Location is unbeatable.

This property is all about location. The room itself is very basic, but you can’t beat being in such close proximity to the Acropolis and the museum (8 mins and 15 mins each). We arrived late around 10pm and the nice lady from the restaurant was able to check us in. Had we arrived later, there was a code to enter the main entrance; however, the instructions were not clear on how we would get our keys. There is a rooftop bar that, unfortunately, is very loud. If you’re looking for a quiet place to sleep after 9 pm, this might not be the place for you. We were staying on the third floor, and from 9-1am ish we heard the music and the re-arrangement of the chairs. We didn’t mind it at first, but it can get annoying. Lastly, the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. We got a free glass of wine from the restaurant and returned later for more drinks before heading to the airport. We might consider staying here again, mostly for the convenient location.

A ABSOLUMENT ÉVITER. Ce n'est pas un hotel. C'est plus un Airbnb de niveau 0. Voire un gîte pour backpackers. Pas de personnel sur place. Communication inexistante. Un lounge qui est un trou noir à la propreté douteuse. Le seul endroit où l'on dit changer la housse de couette, mais où en fait on l'a retourne à l'envers. Malheureusement pour la personne de l'entretien, nous avions fait une tâche sur le dessus qui le lendemain se retrouvait dessous. Pour finir, juste en face, un wine bar extrêmement bruyant ouvert jusqu'au bout de la nuit... Impossible de dormir. Passez votre chemin, c'est un des pire endroits où rester.

Avoid this hotel. Yes, the location is great, but it won't be possible to sleep. The music is not even the problem.The rooftop bar has no insulation whatsoever so you will enjoy chairs being dragged back and forth until 2am non-stop and all other noises due to having a bar just above you. Also guests to the rooftop bar are walking through the hotel corridors,screaming and yelling. Noone is controlling that, no security at the door, nothing. Btw, the so secret code for the entrance which guests are asked not to share with others, is left on a printout that every visitors to the bar can see, next to the couches on the first landing, just that you feel safe! not that a code was needed to get in, as the door was ajar also at 16:00 when I arrived (with noone on the premises, complete desert around, no staff, nobody for help); as the keys are left in the doors, you can feel safety is very important at this place. The doors to the rooms are also thin and the springs heavy, so you also hear every single guests coming in and out. The room was in need of several fixings (the towel rack in the shower was holding on 2 screws out of 4, again safety, the shower floor is slippery) and a bit extra cleaning (found black hair everywhere in the bathroom). Also interesting how the phone number on Expedia is not the one left at the hotel to call for help. The lady at the "Expedia phone" could speak a broken English which did not help.

Excellent location. Close to underground station ( with one of the lines go to the airport). Also close to the Acropolis and the Parliament. The entrance was nicely explained and easy to do. The apartment was large and with air conditioning

The suite was clean, the cleaning ladies are very friendly. The weather was a bit grey/cloudy during a couple of days, would just recommend better lighting especially in the bathroom. :) There’s a bar across and it could get lively until 3am on weekends, better choose a room on the inner part of the building. Superb location. We stayed 9 days in Athens and were able to experience its beauty mostly by foot. Customer Service is top, she has good restaurant recommendations. Thank you !
