A truly gorgeous setting and a marvelous staff make the Holt Inn a must for anyone visiting Westfjords in Iceland. A delightful breakfast starts the day off right, and the outdoor hot tub (with cozy shower and changing room) over looking the fjord provides a great night cap—even if the sun never sets! If we ever make it back to Iceland, a stop at the Holt Inn will definitely be on our itinerary. Be sure the visit the long wooden pier down the road for a wonderful beach experience.

One of our favorite stays in Iceland! We arrived pretty late into the night but there was no hassle checking in. Room was clean, bed was comfy! Take advantage of the hot tub, it was a treat soaking under the northern lights. To top it all off, a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet.

There is the most amazing view from their hot tub that you will ever see. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is offered and there is a fridge to store your own food. Would definitely go back and recommend this inn.

Kristina was a lovely host helping arrange our needs and help answer questions about the local area. The Holt Inn is set in a stunning location in a fjord, with panonamic views from outside of mountains and sea. The lack of people in general, the tranquility and beauty highlights the simplicty of it's surroundings making this a true gem of the Westfjords of you want to escape from reality. Plus the hot tub is set overlooking stunning scenery. Sat in there for 4 hours until 1am waiting for the Northen Lights. There are also bikes you can use. Great venue for a simple night stip over to break up your journey or better still, stay 3 nights, enjoy the are it's in and local fjords and town too. Absolutely loved it. This would be an ultimate escape for a quiet time. Wish I stayed a week and not two nights.

A hot tub with a mountain view, a delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds and convenient check-in are real bonuses. All was as advertised. Anna was especially accommodating, offering and sharing her homemade cakes and jams at breakfast. Highly recommend and would love to stay there again.

We picked this property as I had read in other reviews that the scenery was better than in Isafjordur. It was stunning, mountai s all the way around. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but adequate and clean. Cindy the hotess was exceptionally kind and helpful. We were offered a lamb dinner for a fee. It was outstanding. I think we were offered this, as they had a bus tour group staying that night.

This family owned inn is great. You feel like home. Breakfast is very good, the room is super clean and comfortable. The service is outstanding and they have a hot tub!!! Beautiful landscapes can be seen from the inn. Love it!

I had a lovely three night stay here and enjoyed it very much. The setting is beautiful, and very peaceful. The old school house has a lot of character and charm, and the hot pot was a great spot to relax at the end of the day. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I had a double economy room and it was perfect for me, but if there were two people plus luggage it might be a bit crowded for some so just keep that in mind (not a complaint at all, just information) It was a highlight of my trip to stay here.

We loved Holt Inn! It has a unique history and wonderful hosts and owner. The room was just right and the inn itself has a large lounge to relax in. The town of Flateyri is close by where we had a great dinner at the local pub called Vagninn. Definitely recommend both Holt Inn and Vagninn!

We arrived late but Cindy was there to greet us and give us our key and overview of the property. She was also there at the excellent breakfast and chatted with us about her life in Iceland and gave us recommendations for things to do in the area. We saw whales from the pier and walked along the quiet beach. Overall an excellent stay.

This Inn was a little heaven in the middle of nowhere. The owner is a beautiful soul, who really helped us (when we had our car stuck in the snow and she got us someone to help us take it out) she really did her best 🙏 Beautiful room, modern, and very comfortable. Breakfast was great as well. Would def book again here. Thankyou for hosting us.

This is an extraordinary, small, fantastic place in the middle of nowhere, in one of the most beautiful settings you can imagine. Very personal service, warm, friendly. If you value quiet isolation in a spectacular Icelandic fjord, this is the place for you. Can't wait to go back!

A wonderful experience! The inn is located in a very well-done conversion of a school that is part of a compound that includes a church and cemetery. A very relaxing country atmosphere. We didn't find many hiking opportunities accesible from the property, but plenty to do nearby. The staff was outstanding, very friendly and providing much advice regarding local sites and hiking opportunies. The staff was the highlight of our 2 nights at Holt. The breakfast was excellent and is the only meal offered. For others, Flateryi is a short drive and has 2 options (only one after 5:00 p.m.). But then there is Kaffi Sol, which is on the way to Flateryi. The posted hours are 12-5. But, reservations can be made for evening meals. They are homecooked by Gunna and were delicious and she was wonderful. Dining at Kaffi Sol was a highlight of our stay not only at Holt Inn but of our entire travels in the West Fjords.

A truly gorgeous setting and a marvelous staff make the Holt Inn a must for anyone visiting Westfjords in Iceland. A delightful breakfast starts the day off right, and the outdoor hot tub (with cozy shower and changing room) over looking the fjord provides a great night cap—even if the sun never sets! If we ever make it back to Iceland, a stop at the Holt Inn will definitely be on our itinerary. Be sure the visit the long wooden pier down the road for a wonderful beach experience.

This family owned inn is great. You feel like home. Breakfast is very good, the room is super clean and comfortable. The service is outstanding and they have a hot tub!!! Beautiful landscapes can be seen from the inn. Love it!

This inn is located in an absolutely gorgeous area of the Westfjords that will take your breath away. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Room was very nice. The staff were very accommodating to our schedule change and helped make our trip stressfree and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again

We arrived late but Cindy was there to greet us and give us our key and overview of the property. She was also there at the excellent breakfast and chatted with us about her life in Iceland and gave us recommendations for things to do in the area. We saw whales from the pier and walked along the quiet beach. Overall an excellent stay.

This is an extraordinary, small, fantastic place in the middle of nowhere, in one of the most beautiful settings you can imagine. Very personal service, warm, friendly. If you value quiet isolation in a spectacular Icelandic fjord, this is the place for you. Can't wait to go back!

A wonderful experience! The inn is located in a very well-done conversion of a school that is part of a compound that includes a church and cemetery. A very relaxing country atmosphere. We didn't find many hiking opportunities accesible from the property, but plenty to do nearby. The staff was outstanding, very friendly and providing much advice regarding local sites and hiking opportunies. The staff was the highlight of our 2 nights at Holt. The breakfast was excellent and is the only meal offered. For others, Flateryi is a short drive and has 2 options (only one after 5:00 p.m.). But then there is Kaffi Sol, which is on the way to Flateryi. The posted hours are 12-5. But, reservations can be made for evening meals. We picked this property as I had read in other reviews that the scenery was better than in Isafjordur. It was stunning, mountai s all the way around. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but adequate and clean. Cindy the hotess was exceptionally kind and helpful. We were offered a lamb dinner for a fee. It was outstanding. I think we were offered this, as they had a bus tour group staying that night.

One of our favorite stays in Iceland! We arrived pretty late into the night but there was no hassle checking in. Room was clean, bed was comfy! Take advantage of the hot tub, it was a treat soaking under the northern lights. To top it all off, a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet.

A hot tub with a mountain view, a delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds and convenient check-in are real bonuses. All was as advertised. Anna was especially accommodating, offering and sharing her homemade cakes and jams at breakfast. Highly recommend and would love to stay there again.

Holt Inn was the most comfortable and pleasant place we stayed during our trip to Iceland. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were kind and helpful. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back.

Had an exceptional stay at the Holt Inn. Cindy made us feel right at home and even recommended a few spots for dinner in town. She went above and beyond to make our stay special with little tips for the northern lights, a pier nearby for some great photos and a great breakfast. Thank you so much for the Icelandic wedding cake for our anniversary, it was an unexpected gift that we will cherish.

Amazing experience! The hot tub was incredible! We loved relaxing in it, watching the aurora try to peek through the clouds. They even have robes and slippers to wear when you go outside to the hot tub and a well-maintained shower room to use beforehand. The breakfast was delightful! If we are ever in the Westfjords again, we will 100% stay again! I wished we stayed for more than one night this time! They even had bikes and helmets you could borrow and take around the beautiful area! Stunning views. Honestly, no complaints whatsoever.

Nice farmstead like setting with horses nearby . It’s conveniently located off of 60 with proximity to several small towns. Breakfast was really good and the eating area was large to accommodate many. If you are doing Ring Road counterclockwise, please be advised that 60 is undergoing resurfacing around the waterfall, and this might slow you down .
