This is a no-frills hotel, but it offers everything you could want for a smooth, hassle-free vacation. We especially appreciated how clean the property was the quiet atmosphere. Reception operates only from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but we were provided with a code to access the main entrance at any time. The staff were consistently helpful and courteous, adding to the welcoming vibe. A special shout-out and thank you to the lovely reception team of Anca and Daniele. We had a light breakfast of coffee and a croissant daily, which is perfect if you want to sleep in yet still want a quick bite before heading out. I also loved that housekeeping cleaned our room whenever we removed the “Do Not Disturb” sign. This is a thoughtful touch often missing from larger hotels where room cleaning is usually once in 3 days or on request, especially in NA. Eccelso is located in a residential neighborhood, which makes it feel even more homely. Just across the street, there's a pharmacy and many excellent, reasonably priced dining options, and a taxi stand. The metro is only a 5-min walk away, a convenience store is just around the corner. Plus, Via Ottaviano offers great shopping. We chose Eccelso because it's a 5-min walk from the Vatican since we were visiting Rome for the Jubilee Year. But we will surely choose this hotel again for our next visit to Rome.

The hotel was modern, clean, quiet and very convenient to the Vatican. The very reasonably priced coffee bar in the lobby was a nice touch. The window opened and the AC worked, even in October. The area felt upscale and safe, if quite busy. The front door isn't easy to find unless you know what to look for, but the staff provided instructions before we arrived, so we didn't have a problem. The lobby is only manned 8:00 to 20:00, but they are willing to help schedule things outside those hours.

Nice property, close to the Vatican in the Prati area. Safe, convenient and lots of dining options. Room was quaint, but on the smaller side. Loved this property. It was a lovely room, with a large bed and bathroom. Very comfortable, and the AC was very nice. The workers were so nice, and did a great job making us feel welcome. We did not imminently find the property, but received a call right away letting us know where to go. It was phenomenal. I would absolutely stay here again.

We appreciated the vicinity to vatican city as that was where we wanted to spend our free day before flying home. There were many restaurants close by and a light breakfast was also provided for a small fee. We appreciated the large bathroom and the space in the room to accommodate two large suitcases. AC worked great and the hotel was overall quiet and comfortable.

The rooms are spacious, in a really quiet neighborhood close to the Vatican, walls are on the thin side so thankfully it's s quiet zone. A/C works perfectly, the shower is huge and the bed is comfortable. Staff was super helpful and kind. Check in/out was quick and uneventful, staff helped me call a cab a few times.

Location of hotel is awesome, front desk person (ANCA) was very very helpful and kind. We regret that the shower area does not meet the size requirements, vert tight and uncomfortable, can hardly move inside once you close the shower door. Also needs more countertop area for accessories; shampoo and soap was very limited.

Pros - near everything. Walk to Vatican and many restaurants. Wonderful staff, very clean room, super comfortable bed. Only minor issues was limited counter space in bathroom and a little challenging to find due to limited street signage in Rome. Would highly recommend for price!

Wonderful stay!! Only stayed for two night but wished we had been able to stay longer. Receptionist went out of her way to help us get from the cruise port to her hotel. Upon arrival, she gave us some insight as to the area and gave us some recommendations for dinning- which were delicious! Anca - the receptionist- also booked us our airport transportation. Upon arrival, she gave us some insight as to the area and gave us some recommendations for dinning- which were delicious! Anca - the receptionist- also booked us our airport transportation. Overall, our stay was wonderful! Highly recommend- and definitely order their room service breakfast- best croissants and lattes!!

Lovely hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Perfect placement for visiting the sights of Rome. The main positive was the helpfulness of the staff. They could not help enough and were more than happy to answer any questions we had re visiting the sites and getting around Rome. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Will definitely be using this hotel again when we return to Rome.

Really happy I found this hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful especially with this being my first solo trip. The room size was perfect, with a modern look and was very clean. The hotel is incredibly close to The Vatican but is also in a very quiet location considering how busy the area is. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We appreciated the vicinity to vatican city as that was where we wanted to spend our free day before flying home. There were many restaurants close by and a light breakfast was also provided for a small fee. We appreciated the large bathroom and the space in the room to accommodate two large suitcases. AC worked great and the hotel was overall quiet and comfortable.

Location was perfect for our needs. Sites to visit, food, transportation and Covid testing. There is a lot of thought that was put into designing the space and everything works. The bed was very comfortable and shower adequately sized in comparison to similar bookings in this region. Hotelier was very efficient with communication to address any needs or concerns we had. This is a no-frills hotel, but it offers everything you could want for a smooth, hassle-free vacation. We especially appreciated how clean the property was the quiet atmosphere. Reception operates only from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but we were provided with a code to access the main entrance at any time. The staff were consistently helpful and courteous, adding to the welcoming vibe. A special shout-out and thank you to the lovely reception team of Anca and Daniele. We had a light breakfast of coffee and a croissant daily, which is perfect if you want to sleep in yet still want a quick bite before heading out. I also loved that housekeeping cleaned our room whenever we removed the “Do Not Disturb” sign. This is a thoughtful touch often missing from larger hotels where room cleaning is usually once in 3 days or on request, especially in NA. Eccelso is located in a residential neighborhood, which makes it feel even more homely. Just across the street, there's a pharmacy and many excellent, reasonably priced dining options, and a taxi stand. The metro is only a 5-min walk away, a convenience store is just around the corner. Plus, Via Ottaviano offers great shopping. We chose Eccelso because it's a 5-min walk from the Vatican since we were visiting Rome for the Jubilee Year. But we will surely choose this hotel again for our next visit to Rome.

Our stay was wonderful at this hotel! Very well located close to a lot of restaurants that aren’t a tourist trap. Rooms are clean and comfortable, very easy to enter and exit the hotel. Francesca was so kind and so helpful when we were stuck without a taxi trying to get to the train station.

Amazing!! The staff make the stay. They are truly wonderful. Helpful with directions, destinations, travel arrangements, and they speak multiple languages. I felt very safe. The air conditioning was adequate for our 90 degree days. Short walking distance to the Vatican and walkable to the Colosseum. Close my restaurants, coffee, and gelato! I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

Our stay was incredible, we loved our room. Everything was very accesible since is very close to the metro. The staff was polite, nice and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to absoulte everyone. Excellent location as well for those wanting to visit the Vatican, Sant Angelo Castle, and enjoy the Prati neighborhood. Very nice small hotel, positioned close to Vatican City, yet still quiet. Rooms were small but very clean and comfortable (with AC to help with the heat in the city in the summer). Great breakfast options to be ordered in the evening and delivered to the room in the morning. Friendly staff.
