The Quay Rooms

This is a very easy B&B to stay in and is very well located right on the seafront in Wells. Downstairs has a small lounge and dining area with tea and coffee facilities. The room was a decent size and the bed very comfortable. Nice wet room with a light heated mirror so no problem with steaming up. Definitely worth considering and we’re looking to returning again soon.

A quirky b&b. Lovely inside and lots of thought has gone into the place by the owner. Very comfortable and relaxing place. Access 24/7 via coded door. Lovely settee area on ground floor with kitchen area. We had rooms 1. 4 and 6 for our group of 5 adults. Host superb. Nothing any hassle. Would go back.

On the whole the room was clean and the bed was comfortable although the shower space was very small. The room was advertised as a superior double room with a partial sea view. The picture attached shows the exact view. You actually have to literally hang out the window and look over to the right to even see a very limiting sea view. There is no parking on site. Be prepared to pay day fees at 2 car parks opposite the B&B.

We booked this room months ago as it was listed with breakfast included. The day before we received a text stating that they don't offer breakfast and would leave £10 cash per customer. This clearly doesn't allow time to book another place as concerts were being held at Sandringham, where we had booked too. So we had no choice. The message also said there was no parking, and we had to pay at a local car park, not mentioned on the site. The room was OK, small for the price, bathroom door stuck and was noisy. The blinds are not recessed, but have a gap all round, which allowed light to flood in at sunrise, at 5am. Some maintenence also needed. I messaged the owner back in the whatsapp chat, requesting another room with black out, but no reply. I also enclosed a photo to prove how bright it was with blinds closed. We were also next to a place that had all the air con units on the room, next to our room. None of this is mentioned on the website or in advance. The owner was the most rude obstinate person I've ever encountered. She refused to help in anyway and refused to refund, despite everything being her fault... no breakfast, bright room, air con noise etc. The room is way too expensive for what you get. I see there are many poor reviews for this place and vile owner, extremely unprofessional. We checked out early, so she could easily resell the room, and upon requesting the £20 to be refunded as we had paid £140 a night for room, but no reply!!!!

Please note there is a very steep narrow staircase for anyone staying on the first floor or higher. Other than that it is a perfectly positioned place to stay. Car parking is opposite and suggest you pay for the entire time you are staying as if you book for a part day expecting it to rollover to the next, a day finishes at midnight and you don’t want to be out at midnight topping up the meter! Friendly and helpful owner. Dog friendly. Very comfortable. Good restaurant walking distance just up the road. We would definitely stay again.

This is a beautiful B&B right near the town centre with a great system for self check in. Whilst it doesn't have parking it is right across the road from the long stay car park which is only £8.50 for 24 hours. Lovely communal seating and breakfast areas. Continental breakfast was great with fresh fruit, toast, croissants, cereal, meat and cheese. Our room was small but nice with comfy bed and plenty of drawer/hanging space. The owner is lovely and makes sure you have everything you need. The gelato shop RIGHT next door is amazing but dangerous 😀 Would highly recommend!

This lovely B&B is located nicely near the port and facilities in the town. The property is building is over 200 years old and retains features such as narrow and steepish staircase which maybe slightly problematic for a few. There are 8 rooms over three levels. Rooms 7 on the sevens level was spacious considering the size of the building with contemporary decor. The room didn’t have air conditioning, however, was comfortable at night with the window open and quiet considering it is next to a busy road. A big tip to offer — the NCP car park across the road from the B&B is a rip off, so park in the NNDC car park next door and half the price!

The property was clean but needs updating. Please get rid of the fluffy blanket and pillow.

No staff to greet, but instructions were clearly given to self check in. Shabby decor in reception and stairs but room good, spotless but a drain smell was present. Very good continental breakfast with friendly staff.

I had no expectation of anything fancy and I was not disappointed. Bunk room cleanish, bathroom clean and good hot shower. Grubby public areas and stairs. The image of the lounge on the websire must have been taken when refurbished in 2015. Clearly no cleaning or tlc lavished since. Rubber croissant for breakfast out of cellophane packet but nice cafetiere coffee. For a night away on my own on business it served a purpose but no more.

Overall We had a nice stay, the room was nice, tea and coffee supplied. Clean fresh bedding However it is in desperate need of updating especially the entrance (stains on the carpets, and up the stairs, needs decorating all over. Flaking paint and cracked drain cover in the shower! The thing that needs to be stated is payment required before your stay, they tried to take money a week before without any notice that they were going to do this. When I spoke to the woman she said their looking had changed but like I said no notice that this had happened. Definitely did not think it was worth £175 for one night, I know location was good but when I looked there were rooms available at other places that charged way less and were far more better, if only they had spaces at the time of our visit!

Clean room. Central to everything in town.

The hotel was generally dirty. The stair carpet was stained and grubby. Our bedroom was tiny and carpet covered in stains. The bathroom was very small so was the shower and shower also needed a good clean as there was black mould or hair in the shower tray.

Wasnt very keen as their was no one to greet us.There was instructions on how to get in though.It stated breakfast upon booking but they wasn't able to provide breakfast when we arrived. They had the tables and crockery out and sauces though.They left us money for our breakfast which didnt seem professional. Our room was very Musty and Dry smelling which wasn't pleasant. I couldn't get the shower to work properly and it was too hot too stand underneath it so I had to exit the shower still with suds and rinse under the tap in the basin.

Lovely room, yummy continental breakfast, comfortable bed, fantastic shower, nice member of staff, great decor, easy check in. My only grumble is that the room was ridiculously hot! It was difficult to sleep in such a hot room!

The fridge was located on top of a chest of drawers and didn't feel steady when it was open and closed. Also, the TV was situated behind it, and whilst it didn't obstruct the view, it made it clumsy and cluttered. Minimum storage as well Breakfast option cancelled 48 hours before visit. We were refunded but overall the room did not feel value for money.

Helpful, when I locked myself out & in providing oat milk alternative for breakfast, and friendly. Nice public area to sit at reception. Location could not be more central.

Breakfast was cancelled at very short notice. Check in was automated due to no staff as well. Room was pleasant enough but no hand soap supplied for the wash-hand basin.

We have stayed at the Quay many times and Alexandra always takes time to make sure everything is just right. It's always our place to stay in Wells.

This little quirky B&B far exceeded our expectation. Beds were comfy, good quality bedding, nice wet room. Facilities were great, use of a little kitchen. Free tea, coffee & hot chocolate. Plates, Glasses and cutlery provided if you have a takeaway. Nice are with sofas and tv. Definitely will return and recommend. Will was friendly and welcoming.

Right in the middle of town by the harbour, friendly and welcoming. My wife being a light sleeper was not disturbed once in either of the two nights stay. We would book again. ALBaker.

Good place to stay, close to all amenities and beach.

Fabulous location, check in easy and bed and bedding was very comfortable.

Perfect location , very comfy bed , thought would be noisy as right by the quay and it wasn’t at all Found parking space later in the day for a 24hr stay reasonably priced too . Parts of the room where dusty and we didn’t realise our bathroom would be disabled x were woken up at 7.15am on the Sunday by the setting up of the kitchen Wells is such a lovely place always enjoy the visit Would highly recommend the restaurant called Sands excellent food great value great service

Very comfortable and good facilities. Right in the middle of town, so very convenient for all amenities.

Convenient location, quiet but close to the quay and walkway to the Wells cafe / beach. No parking at the B&B but possible on street (does get busy) or Quay car park a short walk away and only £5 for 24 hours. Close to pubs / restaurants and the Whinhill Norfolk Cider company. Room was a tastefully decorated and co-ordinated with a comfortable chair, chest of drawers and coat rack with hangers. Water was provided as well as tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast area also had sofas that we were able to use for eating our takeaway fish and chips whilst it was wet outside. We were at the top of the house and the stairs were fairly steep but there was a downstairs room. Space in the downstairs for muddy boots / bikes etc. Convenient key coded front door for easy access. The owners and staff were polite, helpful and courteous. Room including bathroom which was a wet room were clean. Great to each have a hand as well as bath towel. Thank you.

Thoroughly unique, very pleasant experience. Beautifully presented with high quality decor, comfortable bed and a superb, modern en-suite. We wondered what the Continental Breakfast would offer and it was very, very good. Not just a bowl of cereal. Lots of choice including fresh fruit, yoghurts, croissants and a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. The entry system into the building works well and is easily accessed and means that you can let yourself in at any time after 3pm without having to fix a time with the staff. We met our host at breakfast and she was friendly, courteous and very accommodating. We would certainly consider staying again and recommend it to others.
