Pleasantly surprised at how lovely this place is. Very authentic British Inn. Indian food on the menu was amazing. Pub was awesome. The room was great. Bed was very comfortable. Shower had great water pressure. Love the old building refurbished with modern amenities. This is a hidden gem. You should stay and eat here!!!!

Lovely old property, that the new owner is bringing back to life. Super friendly staff and service. Cosy Bar with large TV for the Sports lovers. Small quaint restaurant for the food lovers. Breakfast was included in our deal and was made from top quality ingredients. We paid for one of the best rooms in the roof space, bit pricey, but the big bath and shower eased the pain to my wallet. If we're in the area again we will be looking to stop here.

Fantastic hotel, wonderful staff, really made our stay fun and memorable. Great food and comfortable rooms. We were lucky enough to be there for the pub quiz, we lost by a considerable margin... But maybe had the most fun!

My wife and I were looking for an old English inn and this fit the bill perfectly. The staff was great and our meal in the pub just what we needed. I enjoyed watching the dart game going on in the pub. I would have rated the property higher but this was a building built in the 1600’s. It was just what we were looking for but not perfect for everyone.

An affordable, stay close to Bath. The breakfast was nice. Be sure to walk across the bridge and visit the restaurant. Small, clean, convenient, not a luxury hotel.

There was nothing luxury about the 'deluxe double room.' The room was cold and had a strange damp smell. When we asked if the heating could be turned on we were given a portable heater. The wiring and sockets looked very old and there were extension cables on the floor. The bathroom had mouldy grouting and peeling paint on the ceiling. There were no windows in the bedroom and the door did not fit, so that you could see daylight outside through the gap in the door. Breakfast was not available until 9,30am, and we declined it when it was still not available at 9.30. They seeed a bit bemused when we asked about breakfast, as if this was an unusual request.

The bedroom smelt awful which we realised after a while was probably due to the wet carpet. The room was cold, the radiator didn’t appear to work but we were given a fan heater which warmed it up nicely. The bathroom was ok but is in desperate need of some tlc as is the bedroom.

Clean facilities, excellent food, tea coffee etc, and customer service, some fittings broken cracked or missing in room. Nothing that takes away from a excellent experience, only visual. Asleep or out most of the time anyway

We stayed here for a friend's wedding. Would definitely recommend. We staying in the family suite, the room was clean and spacious. The owner, his daughter and other staff were fabulous. Looked us all and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great too.

The place could really do with some maintenance - the rooms are tired, the bed was so soft it’s actually hard for two people to comfortably stay attached to it. The bathroom is probably just given a once over between guests but hasn’t had a deep clean for a while and really needs a good scrub. Even though it’s (rightly) priced at the lower end of the market, you’d at least expect it to be clean. It wouldn’t take much to improve things. The staff were lovely so I have been hesitant to say anything negative but I hope it’s helpful feedback that will enhance the offering.

Very poor condition very dirty very cold they kept turning the radiators off . Bathroom was appalling the dirt around the bath the walls, had a plug in on show to keep rats/mice away . It’s such a shame as it has potential it’s a very old building and has a lot of character. But I was taken back when showers my room I have never stopped in such a terribly kept room .Won’t be returning again.

On arrival the gentleman was unable to sort out our check in and had to get another member of staff to help us. There seemed to be some confusion however the second man then took the details from my phone and we were shown to our room. The initial feeling wasn’t too great, with a single pendant light with one of those old energy saving bulbs that has to warm up and twin beds with only one having a bedside table and lamp. However the beds were very comfortable which was a definite plus point. I then found another table and lamp in the wardrobe and got the room looking more cosy. The well stocked tea tray was welcome with bottled water too. The bathroom, although old, was large, clean and the shower very good, but could do with a shelf to put your gels or soap in. There was a TV and we were comfortable and happy. Unfortunately we were woken by banging and talking in the corridor at 1.30am, followed by a television going on in the room next door. I considered banging on the wall but didn’t want to escalate the situation and simply tried to ignore it. However this is an old building with thin walls and the disturbance lasted until 3.30am which I told the staff about in the morning. Given the problems at check in I wondered if other family members in the hotel didn’t know that we were staying in the room. Overall, only a little money spent on decorating and furnishings would improve the room and without the disturbance I would have given 4 stars.

Historic inn being renovated. Within easy reach of major Cotswolds towns and sights. Efficient and helpful staff. Fine room but floor sloped slightly- so we rolled downhill in bed!

The only issues were the unsafe uneven floor on the stairs. The room was so hot when I arrived, and there was 2 10cm fans. I couldn't plug the fans at the bedside table because the plugs were old and not the 3 prong, had to plug them in at the TV qnd move the bed close

My wife and I were looking for an old English inn and this fit the bill perfectly. The staff was great and our meal in the pub just what we needed. I enjoyed watching the dart game going on in the pub. I would have rated the property higher but this was a building built in the 1600’s. It was just what we were looking for but not perfect for everyone.

We stayed here for a friend's wedding. Would definitely recommend. We staying in the family suite, the room was clean and spacious. The owner, his daughter and other staff were fabulous. Looked us all and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great too.

Stayed one night whilst attending a wedding nearby. We were welcomed with a smile and treated in a friendly and professional way throughout. Room was very comfortable and the breakfast was served really nicely.

On arrival the gentleman was unable to sort out our check in and had to get another member of staff to help us. There seemed to be some confusion however the second man then took the details from my phone and we were shown to our room. The initial feeling wasn’t too great, with a single pendant light with one of those old energy saving bulbs that has to warm up and twin beds with only one having a bedside table and lamp. However the beds were very comfortable which was a definite plus point. I then found another table and lamp in the wardrobe and got the room looking more cosy. The well stocked tea tray was welcome with bottled water too. The bathroom, although old, was large, clean and the shower very good, but could do with a shelf to put your gels or soap in. There was a TV and we were comfortable and happy. Unfortunately we were woken by banging and talking in the corridor at 1.30am, followed by a television going on in the room next door. I considered banging on the wall but didn’t want to escalate the situation and simply tried to ignore it. However this is an old building with thin walls and the disturbance lasted until 3.30am which I told the staff about in the morning. Given the problems at check in I wondered if other family members in the hotel didn’t know that we were staying in the room. Overall, only a little money spent on decorating and furnishings would improve the room and without the disturbance I would have given 4 stars.

Grade 2 listed building re-conditioned. Quiet stay and amicable staff. Catering offer very poor. Only one hour for breakfast and closes early for dinner. Rooms need a bit of deco fitting as they look a bit plain.

An affordable, stay close to Bath. The breakfast was nice. Be sure to walk across the bridge and visit the restaurant. Small, clean, convenient, not a luxury hotel.

Pleasantly surprised at how lovely this place is. Very authentic British Inn. Indian food on the menu was amazing. Pub was awesome. The room was great. Bed was very comfortable. Shower had great water pressure. Love the old building refurbished with modern amenities. This is a hidden gem. You should stay and eat here!!!!

hotel staff was friendly we mainly spoke to sean lovely host , hotel itself has liads of potential certain thing needs attention cleaning could be better , and shower pressure , but its a grade two buliding so not much can be done , food was nice we had the indian food which was nice but to me didnt feel authentic which was strange because it looked lovely, the naan bread as disappointing because it looked like a flat bread from the shop , but as an over night stay was comfortable couldn't ask for more to be honest , id stay again if needed

There was nothing luxury about the 'deluxe double room.' The room was cold and had a strange damp smell. When we asked if the heating could be turned on we were given a portable heater. The wiring and sockets looked very old and there were extension cables on the floor. The bathroom had mouldy grouting and peeling paint on the ceiling. There were no windows in the bedroom and the door did not fit, so that you could see daylight outside through the gap in the door. Breakfast was not available until 9,30am, and we declined it when it was still not available at 9.30. They seeed a bit bemused when we asked about breakfast, as if this was an unusual request.

It was a nice place to stay for the night, very nice staff. The only negative was that the food was very expensive £18 for a burger, that was a shame so we went else where to eat. Great breakfast though.

The bed was the most uncomfortable night sleep we have ever had in a hotel/Guest House. The mattress is full of lumps and bumps. All the floors are uneven. The show thermostats was broken so you could not change the temperature and on the first night there was no heating in the room. The stairs are very uneven so a hazard for trips and falls. I don’t think the interior and hallways and stairs have seen any new paint for many years. Our phones had no signal and the WiFi did not reach our room on the top floor. Windows full of spiderwebs. The fish and chips we had in the evening was ok. Do not stay here.

Great old Hotel, however, while keeping the character then making sure it's clean , fresh and a nice place to stay. It's not a modern box it's old quirky however, very nice. Staff were great and the evening meal was perfect

Cons: room and amenities were very tired. couldn’t get hot water from the shower - a bit out of the tap. Missing blind from roof light meant room got very bright quite early. Strange musty smell in the corridors. All things that aren’t excused by the age of the property. Generally for £190 a night would have expected more - even considering bank holiday and Cotswolds premium.
