I've stayed at the Management Centre several times sine last December. It's a convenient location for my work in Bangor. The staff are friendly and welcoming and parking is complimentary. Some rooms are on floors that are not served by a lift (I think) - this is no issue for me but some guests may wish to bear this in mind when booking. My only negative is that the bar doesn't open until 17:30. Otherwise a lovely hotel with some great views over the strait.

One reason we booked was the availability of a lift. However, it only serves the 1st and 2nd floors. We were given a room on the third. Luckily a room was still available on the 2nd floor. This aside, the room was good and the dining options acceptable.

Part of the University of Bangor campus, clean, good condition, comfortable, reasonably priced and quiet. However on arrival there is a check in desk by the door this is not where you check in a sign tells you to go to the main reception in X Hall but doesn't tell you where that hall is. At breakfast the next morning the chef hadn't turned in so there was no cooked breakfast, there were plenty of other items fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast. The rooms are spread over 3 floors only a lift between floors 1 and 2, there are a fair few stairs so people with mobility issues may struggle. Sort out these small items and make people aware of the stairs. I would use again.

Lovely stay in a remarkable building. Staff so friendly and very helpful Great hearty welsh cooked breakfast and continental options. Would be nice to have a floorplan / map to guide around corridors/stairs/rooms/receptions/bars/restaurant as layout is a bit like a labyrinth for the first time - but got to grips with it in the end....

Lovely property & lovely, large room with beautiful view. Staff were pleasant, friendly & courteous. Shout out to the lovely, bubbly waitress in the 1884 restaurant on Saturday night 3rd Dec - possibly Latvian or Polish? - she was fantastic! We didn't like that we could not use the restaurant or bar on Friday night due to a private function - would have been nice to know in advance of our arrival as we were tired & hungry. Part of the reason we booked here was the fact there was a restaurant & bar! Also bar closed at 10:30pm on Saturday night & was in reception area instead of actual bar.

Great room, fantastic location, delicious breakfast. However a maze and bizarrely the breakfast room and bar have the same name, and located in completely different locations adding to confusion. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Beautiful building set in the grounds of Bangor University. Staff were lovely, check very straight forward, we had tea at the 1884 restaurant (i would suggest maybe asking how you would like the burgers med/ well done etc) Bedroom was very clean and the views were amazing. Breakfast was good plenty of choice. I will be staying again

Too many stairs. Stayed a week, towels changed but no sheet change, one day bed left unmade. Hardly 4* Bar lacked any atmosphere. Food ok but a choice of eggs at breakfast would have been good. (Scrambled eggs every day)

Make no mistake, this is a university dorm turned BnB. Very old and a little creepy. To go to our room we had to carry our bags down a full flight of stairs, down a hallway to a lift, go up one floor on the lift, then carry the bags up a whole other flight of stairs. Room was stifling, no air, not even a fan. Original windows at least a hundred years old. Shower had a used soap in it. Some bed springs were broken. Terrible night sleep, however breakfast was very good.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had a suite with a wonderful view. Breakfast was delicious for both a meat eater and a veggie. We used the room mostly as a base to explore the local area and Anglesey and couldn't have asked for more.

We paid for the best room but found it disappointing in that there were no shampoo/body lotion/shower caps in the bathroom. The single beds were very narrow. Signs to the reception/bar and dining area were not there and the place was like a rabbit warren tracking them down. However, on the plus side, the room was kept scrupulously clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We appreciate it was part of the university.

Called well in advance before check in to ask for a z bed in the room for our daughter. The staff member said no extra charge over the phone and when we arrived at check in they asked for £11 for extra bed and £12 for breakfast. They said sorry but it was a new trained member of staff which didn’t know about the extra charge. I thought to myself why should I pay when it was a staff member that had received this info during her training?! It was an added extra we didn’t plan for, we should have just booked an air bnb. Also we were on the ground floor near the entrance and exit and it was very loud through the night with people going back and forth. We didn’t get much rest at all. Staff in breakfast area were lovely, bathroom was lovely and clean in room, just a pity about the check in experience and noise.

It was not a hotel, just an annexe to Bangor university - a conference centre with bedrooms! Difficult to find, limited parking, unfriendly staff on reception, poor facilities, unreasonably complex directions to find bedroom. We stayed for 30 mins before handing back our key to a rather disinterested receptionist, then came back home.

The building is old with some lovely features and the rooms are spacious. The staff are really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and good quality ingredients. My 7yr old said it was the breakfast of kings. Highly recommend and will definitely be back

Love this hotel. Location is perfect, can walk down into Bangor or stay in upper banger. Plenty of bars, fast food and restaurants. Staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast is soo good here. Apart from the toaster which takes forever.

We stayed here for 2 nights, we wish we'd booked for longer on our trip around Wales. Great central location for trips to Conwy, Anglesey, Caernafon, Zip World & Eryri National Park. The included breakfast was good and our room was absolutely beautiful and very spacious with lovely views. The windows all open wide so plenty of fresh air. The towels were huge and the king size bed very comfortable indeed. Free parking for visitors to the Centre. After traveling for a couple of months, this was a haven and I didn't want to leave. I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone travelling around North Wales.

Very clean room & comfortable quiet location. Breakfast plentiful with view of water. Easy location to amenities locally. Setting son into Uni rooms meant we were able to stay and visit pier and cafe on it and Llandudno by bus. 12 return for two

Love this hotel. Location is perfect, can walk down into Bangor or stay in upper banger. Plenty of bars, fast food and restaurants. Staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast is soo good here. Apart from the toaster which takes forever.

The Management Centre is a very practical option, offering decent value for money and a good breakfast. The 1884 restaurant serves a limited menu but is very good quality. Staff are friendly and helpful. You aren’t paying for ambience though, as it is rather functional. If arriving on foot, note that it is a steep climb from the bus station.

Excellent service, food was excellent in the 1884 restaurant - lamb shank and steak. Lovely views onto Menai straight from the restaurant.

Part of the University of Bangor campus, clean, good condition, comfortable, reasonably priced and quiet. However on arrival there is a check in desk by the door this is not where you check in a sign tells you to go to the main reception in X Hall but doesn't tell you where that hall is. At breakfast the next morning the chef hadn't turned in so there was no cooked breakfast, there were plenty of other items fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast. The rooms are spread over 3 floors only a lift between floors 1 and 2, there are a fair few stairs so people with mobility issues may struggle. Sort out these small items and make people aware of the stairs. I would use again.

It was a really nice older property. The staff were all lovely and helpful, they had suggestions of where to go and what to see. The breakfast was really good and there was plenty of choice. The dining room, was roomy and had a great views. We had dinner there a couple of nights, although there wasn't a massive choice, we enjoyed what we ordered. The room was nice and clean, but a bit dated. It really is in a great location. Very easy for Anglesey.

The building is old with some lovely features and the rooms are spacious. The staff are really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and good quality ingredients. My 7yr old said it was the breakfast of kings. Highly recommend and will definitely be back

Too many stairs. Stayed a week, towels changed but no sheet change, one day bed left unmade. Hardly 4* Bar lacked any atmosphere. Food ok but a choice of eggs at breakfast would have been good. (Scrambled eggs every day)

Hotellet är tidigare studenthem för universitetet. Fina gamla byggnader. Rummet var renoverat, men hotellet känns fortfarande som en skola snarare än ett "vanligt" hotell. Många trappor att bära bagaget i. Det fanns ingen handtvål i badrummet. Bara en flaska med schampo/duschcreme. Inget balsam. Fin frukostbuffé och trevlig personal.

Upon arrival we were greeted by reception staff and they were very polite and friendly. They gave us all the information we needed and showed us to our room. The room was neat and tidy and was adequate for our needs. Alex in the 1885 bar was very polite and friendly too. Going into breakfast next morning was lovely. We we were greeted by Lorraine and asked if we would like to a window table. She explained everything in detail and the breakfast menu was superb whither fresh fruit and yogurts and a great selection for breakfast. The poached eggs were perfect but we have to give a special mention for the chef Mick who made the most superb overnight oats with a selection of fruits and almonds it was delicious. Would we stay again, most certainly. Well done everyone for making our stay most enjoyable.

Paint was peeling off ceiling in shower which probably needs to be addressed and white leather furniture in room needs to be replaced ideally as a bit tired and stained
