You get exactly what you’d expect from a budget hotel. They rent rooms weekly & monthly to people on bicycles. The parking lot is right next to the plasma donation center where people were lining up to donate plasma at 6am and congregating in the parking lot. The hotel did have security cameras inside and out.

1. The front desk personnel, Wendy and Nathan, were great. Wendy is very personable and kind. Nathan did the right thing by facilitating a much needed room change. 2. Surrounding parking areas feels sketchy. But, they have a security person who walks the property inside and out from 9pm-5am. 3. Room 144: a)top and bottom sheets were literally still wet/damp, like they had been steam ironed and put on. Had to pull back all covers to let them dry out; b)room next door had 2 barking dogs, yelling people, and tv could be heard through the wall;c) loud noises from room above and a lot of hallway noise from other tenants. At 10:45 pm I requested a room change. Nathan willingly obliged. I was changed to a room on the top floor which was quiet. The saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. I will never again stay at a hotel that allows pets. I suggest that if an establishment insists on being pet friendly, they have a special section for pet owners, away from those who come to sleep. With the exception of the front desk personnel, there is nothing to recommend about this property. It does not reflect well on Expedia's choices.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. There was a lot of screaming and swearing in the hallway until around 3am in the morning. There was a security officer standing inside the front door as well. Not a great experience.

Unlock outside door. The door that supposed to be locked wasn’t locked. I used my keycard and the door was actually opened. I complained about it and no one answered the phone. Plus there’s drug dealers there. Very unsafe. Do not come there!!

For $58/night we were impressed! Clean rooms, clean sheets & decent bed and pillows. Bathroom and room was very modern for the royce per night and we could not believe how quiet the place was. When we first pulled in we weren’t sure what to expect but other than the AC could’ve been a little cooler, we were impressed. Dogs stay free and in bank plenty of decent grass for them to go and dumpster nearby to throw out doggy bags. Staff was friendly & professional. Cameras in all hallways so good surveillance made us feel safe. We’ll be back!

This was absolutely THE WORST place I have ever stayed. I am embarrassed for even staying there and they jacked the price up over $200. The bathroom was by far the worst I have ever seen, the sink would not drain, the electrical will certainly cause a fire. The halls were so nasty and smelled like stale smoke and marijuana. I think it should be condemned.

Found cockroaches in my room on the second morning. Lots of homeless people outside when I arrived. Also, the tv and lights were on in my room when I arrived…I assume that was to keep the cockroaches away.

There are roaches in the building as I became aware of upon waking to use the bathroom turned on the light and there were quite a few of them in which I immediately took photos of them , I was not pleased with those conditions I am very upset with the lack of cleanliness of this establishment.

I killed 18, yes 18 roaches in my room the first morning. I got moved to another room, had issues with the TV, moved to another room. There was a constant smell of pot, hallways were very dirty-including dog barf. The first room I was in was in poor repair, the last one I had a lot of issues getting the air conditioning working. The hallways don't seem to see a vacuum very often.

We rented the room for 3 nights, moved out before the second night. We suffered in silence when the AC pumped out only dank, warm, humid air, making sleep nearly impossible. But we left when an enormous bug scampered across the bathroom floor and disappeared up a crack. Google pics could not decide if it was a cockroach or a black beetle. We didn't really care. Either way, they're in the walls. And that's just not okay The neighborhood was ok, except for the parking lot riffraff of this one establishment, our Motel 6. Finally, the place is a collapsing parallelogram --none of the doors open easily, including the emergency exit. It was unacceptably janky.

When I arrived, there were few people hung around the building. I felt unsafe but the one rhing that bother me and i had to leave the motel after 1 hour checked in because i found a bed bug on my pillow bed by accident. I took some picture, and put a cup on the bed to held the bed bug. I tried to call the front desk but no response. I decided to leave and had to call another hotel nearby which is La Quinta. We left and told the front desk. We dis not checked in to La Qunita until past midnight. I think i should get my refund and discount for the last minute reservation at La Quinta. Please keep me update on tbe status. Thanks.

It is a nice place to stay. Tge staff and everyone we met there was very friendly. The room was clean and roomy, except for the bathroom. You really had no space for a bigger person like me to change in since I was traveling with my adult son for a concert. The beds were nice once you got in them, but you had to becareful getting into the beds. They would move very easily.

Cleanliness was ok but shower was not clean enough. No mini fridge or microwave. Old tv with low resolution and boring satellite tv. Noisy , uncomfortable bed due to a weak bed frame . But it’s probably the cheapest you will find in Madison and the staff are really nice.

On the plus side, the front desk clerk was cheerful and competent under pressure (long check-in line, computer screw-ups), and the room was clean. On the negative side, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker, no shampoo, for pete's sake. I understand that Model 6 is not the Four Seasons, but we paid full list because there was a big concert in town, so this was all double annoying.

There were difficulties checking in. First set of keys were to the wrong room; Second set of keys took me to a room that was already occupied. Third set of keys took me to a room with no heat during a snowstorm and the last set of keys took me to a room with only one bed and a broken tv. The desk clerk was nice and was trying to be helpful but was clearly overwhelmed and the only person on site, making him responsible for cleaning and customers - clearly some long term guests were 'evicted' and blocking the main entryway, making repeated trips up and down stairs for replacement keys difficult. The upstairs hadn't been vacuumed for a very long time; downstairs hallways were very dirty. Bedrooms were clean but musty smelling. No coffee/ tea in the bedrooms and no hair dryer. We should have requested a refund and immediately left, but as I was travelling with my father, we were exhausted, and the closest hotel with a vacancy was more than 15 miles away, we stayed and shared a bed, woke early and left.

Upon arrival it was evident how outdated the hotel is. The windows are cloudy, the curtains are broken in many rooms, there are boards in the window tracks to secure the windows from the inside. We also noted it is located right next to a plasma donation center and there were several homeless people in the hotel parking lot. The young lady at the front desk had been working for nearly 24 hours straight, but she was pleasant and personable when checking us in. She was the ONLY positive part of our stay! Within 10 minutes of arriving, an ambulance and fire truck flew into the parking lot. One of the firemen approached us and asked if we were staying at the Motel 6. We replied yes, and he told us, “Don’t stay here. Go anywhere else in town, but do not stay at this place. Trust us.” Apparently there are people who live there by the week. Unfortunately, due to the sold out concert we were in town for, there were no other rooms available within a 90 minute radius of Madison. The hallways were filthy, but our room was “clean-ish” for the most part. It was very outdated and in bad shape. The tables and dresser were falling apart, the bathroom door wouldn’t close, the air conditioner barely worked, and we did kill one cockroach. We got back to our room at 2 am and tried to sleep but after seeing the cockroach we got in our car and left. Can’t believe we had to pay over $300 for this place! It really just needs to be demolished.

Property needs a little updating. and cleaning. But the rooms were clean, staff friendly and they had excellent TV programs. Property is good if you just need a place to stay. Dont expect a luxury hotel. There are plenty of places to eat near by and you can get to any major high way in just a few minutes. Go see the local Zoo . its free.

I needed a place to shower and sleep for the night while my husband is in the hospital. This place served that purpose. However, the people loitering the hotel parking lot and neighboring parking lot at night made me very uncomfortable and contributed to a restless night.

Not all Motel 6 are created equal. Many are nice for a no-frills chain. This is not one of those. To be fair, this hotel is smack in the middle of what appeared to be a once thriving strip mall area. But most of it is now closed and crawling with transients. There are better choices.

On the plus side, the front desk clerk was cheerful and competent under pressure (long check-in line, computer screw-ups), and the room was clean. On the negative side, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker, no shampoo, for pete's sake. I understand that Model 6 is not the Four Seasons, but we paid full list because there was a big concert in town, so this was all double annoying.

This is a low budget hotel so expectations shouldn't be that high but no lotion or shampoo. Coffee maker in lobby took over an hour to make a pot of coffee. Time to get a new one!!! Bare bones amenities. But not hard on the pocketbook so get your coffee elsewhere.

Pros: Easy check in, easy access even though E. Washington Ave was under construction, room was fairly clean, seemed secure and was quiet. Staff was courteous but not friendly. Cons: This is an older property and could use some TLC, window air conditioner couldn't keep up with a hot day so it was warm and humid in the room until a storm came through and cooled off the outdoor air, air conditioner still ran all night and it was noisy, obvious staining in toilet and tub, bed was too soft for my taste, but I slept OK. There was a working refrigerator and microwave but no coffee maker or hair dryer. There was free coffee in a room off the lobby in the morning. Was quiet even though the the hotel was full. Saw no obvious signs of any illegal activity. Overall, my stay was OK, but next time I'd probably pay a little more for a nicer hotel.

Room was relatively clean. Rest of the property was not and was a bit disturbing. Stayed here due to price hikes in the rest of the city so I got what I paid for. If you are very budget conscious this hotel will provide a bed and pillow that are adequate for sleeping.

We stayed here ONLY because there was an Epic software user conference in Madison and there were almost no rooms left anywhere. We were moving kids into college, so we absolutely had to find a place to stay and this was basically our only choice. The most recent reviews mostly cover it. I would have said previously that the table stakes you expect from a hotel are cleanliness, and while that's true, I've gone further down the hierarchy of needs. The most basic expectation is that you feel safe, and my wife and I did not feel safe. Lots of screaming and yelling, lots of doors slamming, and they continue basically all night. It's all exacerbated by the fact that the rooms are the opposite of soundproof. As others have noted, it's not clean either, especially the hallways and the parking lot. The room was not spotless, but not much worse than I expected. The other areas were much, much worse than I expected. Above safety and cleanliness you get to sleep quality. Our bed was actually not bad, and the sheets seemed clean. The pillows felt like they were made of a couple of dozen of foam balls. Tolerable. But the above mentioned noise makes sleeping very hard. ******THE NUMBER ONE PRO TIP IF YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE IS TO BRING A WHITE NOISE MACHINE.************* I have to imagine this hotel will not exist in a couple of years. I assume the hotel was acceptable at some point in the past, and it very much feels like it must be in the middle of an awful downward spiral.
