Great property but the only thing was - we had a car and needed parking. Shocking 35 euros per night for parking. I can’t understand why the hotel don’t get it cheaper perhaps 20 euros per night would be more reasonable. The hotel should negotiate with the parking operator hotel rates I think

Tolles altes Hotel in perfekter Umgebung und Lage. Öffentliche Parkplätze direkt daneben, ziemlich teuer, aber sicher. Wir hatten ein sehr großes Zimmer mit einem alten Safe und interessanten Möbeln im Flugzeuglook. Großes modernes Bad, top! Kaffee etc. im Zimmer. Nichts zu beanstanden. Absolut zu empfehlen!

We waren een beetje teleurgesteld over de kamer Omdat ik een kamer met een bad had gereserveerd en die hadden wij niet. Verder was de kamer prima. Het diner en lokatie waren goed. Wat wel tegenviel is de parkeer gelegenheid we moesten in de garage parkeren maar kregen geen korting of uit rij kaart.. wij wilden verlengen maar om weer €35 voor het parkeren te betalen dat was te veel. We zijn naar een ander hotel gegaan.

De ligging en de sfeer van het hotel is uniek, de aanwezigheid van de strandstoelen op het grasveld voor het hotel is een meerwaarde. Zalig genieten!

Superleuk hotel!! Mooi historische gebouw maar van alle gemakken voorzien. De grote kamers aan de achterzijde zijn(Wilhelminakade) zijn top! Nog nooit zo'n mooie, grote kamer gehad. Veel restaurants in de omgeving, watertaxi voor de deur, zicht op Erasmus brug en een schitterend restaurant in het hotel. Fietsen kunnen huren van het hotel. Top verblijf!

It was a wonderful property. The only issue is there are a lot of stairs, even if you take the elevator we still had to do stairs to get to our room and there were stairs in our room. If you stay here, note if you have issues with stairs so they can put you in a different area.

Our suit was one of the most beautiful I have stayed in. It was expertly renovated in a contemporary style while maintaining exquisite old woodwork, soaring high ceiling, fireplace, modern large beautiful bathroom, large windows overlooking river, comfortable king bed, large modern soaker tub and enormous velvet sectional couch. The hotel itself is very quirky. It is very old, mazelike but interesting and charming. The entrance is much like a speakeasy, unubtrusive. Several steep steps, no porter in sight, lead to a small old reception area. There is one small slow elevator. Staff throughout the property were helpful and friendly. Complementary drinking water and delicious in room coffee. Buffet breakfast substantial and tasty. Excellent value. Very short walk to cruise ship terminal.

Elegí esta propiedad por lo cerca qué está de la estación de cruceros (una caminata de unos 150 metros a lo más). Si bien, el concepto del lugar es mantenerse fiel a su origen y tienen mobiliario y decoración de principios del siglo XX (evocando los hoteles de esa época), no todo es positivo al respecto. Nos asignaron una habitación qué tenía una ventana que no podía cerrarse, por lo cual había una corriente de aire insoportable. El baño evocaba épocas pasadas, pero considero que exageraron al mantener un wc con tanque de agua gigante (desperdiciaba mucha agua). Esa habitación tenía olor a viejo. Pedimos cambio de habitación, debido del problema de la ventana, lo cual nos proporcionaron sin problema. La segunda habitación estuvo mucho mejor, y más moderna (un baño de la época, por ejemplo), pero fue difícil quitarme la primera impresión. Las habitaciones tienen unas ventanas enormes, cubiertas por persiana, las cuales estaban un poco polvosas. En general, salvo por la ubicación, perfecta para tomar un crucero, sentí que por ese precio pudimos recibir más.

Lovely historical building, nice and spacious rooms, ok views as we were located towards the back of the building. Great location right next to a water taxi station, and minutes walk from erasmus bridge and tram stops. The restaurant is definitely worrth visiting for a meal, a wonderful dinner with really friendly and attentive wait staff. The not so greats - noisy location with building work going on next door and traffic. Beds and pillows were not very comfortable, leaving us all with aching backs. The cleaners made the beds, did a general tidy but did not clean. A lot of obvious debris on the floor was left, not ideal when you have young children crawling.

Stayed at the Hotel New York for one night prior to our cruise. The location was perfect as it was walking distance to cruise terminal. It is an historical building right on the pier in Rotterdam. The staff was excellent and the room well-appointed and very clean. There is a nice restaurant and bar in the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel for a pre/post cruise stay or your visit to Rotterdam.

Right next to the cruise terminal which is very convenient. The view of the city and water is stunning from the front of the hotel. Staff were very welcoming and kind, and called us to follow up once we got to our room to check if we needed anything. The room was remarkable. From the high ceilings, giant windows, very upgraded bathroom and lighting. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on in all our travels. I didn't want to leave. Everything was so clean, I wondered if anyone had ever stayed before. This hotel exceeded expectations and if i could give higher than 5 stars i would. When in Rotterdam,stay here. You wont regret it.

Geweldig mooi hotel op een top locatie. Kamer was ruim, netjes en sfeervol. Twee kleine puntjes: de airco was wat luidruchtig 's nachts en misschien is het een idee om een luikje voor het raampje van de badkamer te maken. Er komt veel licht doorheen en dat is 's nachts vervelend

The Hotel New York is absolutely stunning. There’s so much history within these walls as it used to be Holland America’s headquarters. Our room was so spacious and comfortable-amazing pillows. The cruise port is a 2 minute walk from here-easiest embarkation ever! Many thanks for a fabulous stay!

Nice location near cruise ships. The hotel is cruise themed and feels like it inside. Rooms are spacious and give the feeling of a 1890s cruise with vintage pictures and furniture. Definitely would return.

The room size was not as advertised. It was very small!!! There was no air conditioning and constant yelling and loud noises all night in the alley next to our room. When attendant was asked about the small room he acknowledged there were larger rooms but chose to give us smaller ones

My husband and I went to Ahoy for a concert. We stayed overnight at New York Hotel. They called me twice to check if there was anything I needed before we arrived. I asked for a room with a bathtub, if possible. At the time she said there wasn’t a room with a tub available. When we arrived, the concierge was very kind. She put us in a room with a nice view of the bridge and I had a tub! Room was beautiful. Loved the masculine decor. We ate dinner at the restaurant. It was delicious and waitress was excellent. Everyone was so professional and kind. We had the breakfast buffet & it was delicious. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. I didn’t want to get out of bed. We will return in the summer.

Stayed at the Hotel New York for one night prior to our cruise. The location was perfect as it was walking distance to cruise terminal. It is an historical building right on the pier in Rotterdam. The staff was excellent and the room well-appointed and very clean. There is a nice restaurant and bar in the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel for a pre/post cruise stay or your visit to Rotterdam.

The hotel is the former headquarters of Holland America, dating to 1901, and has been lovingly restored with nods to their cruise ship history. There are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood and access to water taxis and water buses for sightseeing. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent and popular with locals. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again next time we visit Rotterdam

We loved our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect if you are taking a cruise to or from Rotterdam. It's just steps from the pier. The water taxi is next door. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent. There are also many other restaurants nearby. The area is beautiful and walkable.

Super convenient for our pre-cruise stay since it’s across the street from the cruise terminal. It’s also a short walk to a train station if you want to venture out a bit, but there are local choices for dinner and coffee, etc. The breakfast in the hotel was good, but a little pricey.

The style and history of the hotel was fun and unique. It was an easy walk with our suitcases to the cruise port. Our room had a great view of our cruise ship coming in to port, which made it the perfect location.

Right next to the cruise terminal which is very convenient. The view of the city and water is stunning from the front of the hotel. Staff were very welcoming and kind, and called us to follow up once we got to our room to check if we needed anything. The room was remarkable. From the high ceilings, giant windows, very upgraded bathroom and lighting. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on in all our travels. I didn't want to leave. Everything was so clean, I wondered if anyone had ever stayed before. This hotel exceeded expectations and if i could give higher than 5 stars i would. When in Rotterdam,stay here. You wont regret it.

Great staff. Beautiful hotel. Decor is wonderful. Bed and linens were great quality. Room was quiet with blackout curtains. We were tired so did not want to walk to dinner although there are places near the hotel. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was awful. Not really edible. Walking to and from ship was very easy. Would stay again but eat somewhere else.

A unique quirky historical hotel but not as luxurious as the price per night would hint at. Rooms are small. Dinner food and service in the basement exceptional. Breakfast very poor food and service. Lunch a little better. Amazing views of Rotterdam and its river traffic.

Breakfast buffet had lots of choices and food was tasty. Chef was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant dinner menu in my opinion was not great. The outdoor restaurant was a great place for cocktails with a view. The bed was a little hard even though I appreciate a firm mattress. A night light in the bathroom would have been nice or an option to turn off most of the lights as the bathroom door has a porthole window on it. Great location if you are cruising out of Rotterdam as terminal is easily walkable. Easy walk to visit SS Rotterdam Museum. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Great base ready for a cruise. Loved the decor and the staff were very helpful. Dining room a little limited. Felt it to be a bit 'oyster bar' oriented, not many choices for dinner and very limited options for breakfast. Otherwise its a great hotel and there are plenty of eating places around.

I’ve stayed here many times and the Location iis perfect for cruisers as the terminal is right across the street. This wonderful hotel is steeped in so much history. The staff is excellent. Delicious food at their three different restaurants. My favorite is the outside restaurant on tbe water. Water taxis right at the hotel and short walk to the metro or the above ground train into the main center of town. Our room had high ceilings/ large windows and a step up seating area with a beautiful view of the water. Restaurants and the Fenix are located right across a short walking bridge behind the hotel.

The hotel is in a perfect location for a Holland America Cruise. The basement bar was perfect, wonderful NY jazz bar vibes and brilliant barman. It's a lovely location for walking or water taxis and the food hallen down the road is a great spot to eat. The breakfast was quite different from what I imagined, having stayed at N-how a few weeks before nearby and having a wonderful healthy breakfast with so many options, so the very limited options here was a surprise. Due to the lack of explanation and no labels on the first 2 mornings it was a little difficult but by the third morning I appreciated the choice of nice bread and tomato and cucumber and cheese to make a nice sandwich which I enjoyed. If they improved the breakfast offerings, they would be 5 star for sure as building is gorgeous.
