Becozy Self Check-in & Pop-up Hotel

Der SelfCheckIn hat leider nicht ganz so gut geklappt, da ich keine Mail mit den Zugangsdaten bekommen habe. Allerdings hat der Support des Hotels hier relativ schnell Abhilfe geschaffen. Endlich im Zimmer angekommen musste ich feststellen, dass es keine TV gab, heutzutage eigentlich Standard. Ansonsten war es mehr oder weniger sauber und es hat leicht gemüffelt im Zimmer. Das Bett war gut das Kopfkissen nicht. Dennoch habe ich ganz gut geschlafen. Leider sind Parkplätze rund ums Hotel rar bzw. sehr teuer so dass ich ins nahegelegene Parkhaus bin.

As a regular customer this visit was very disappointing - no water bottles in the room, vending machines empty & never restocked during our 4-day stay, reception floor looked like it needed a clean. Also the cash box at the tea/coffee station had been broken into. No staff seen during my stay either…

Stayed here many many times - this time wasn’t the best :- tablet in reception frozen so couldn’t finalise check in, had to wait ages for Live Chat to respond with room number & key code (had to help other guests in same situ the day after), no water bottles in my room (as advertised & had every time before), no fan (which I know other rooms had as I was there before when they were assembling them putting them in the rooms a year or so ago during another heatwave). Room was not in a good condition - wardrobe door missing with the frame damaged on side & floor, light not working above sink unit in main room, shower head sending water in all directions…dissatisfied & disappointed

Property isn’t what is advertised on the website. No shared tv lounge, no breakfast, no snacks kiosk! No staff on site to help you if a problem occurs. Room wasn’t clean when we checked in, was told we would have to pay for a cleaner to clean it! Would never stay here again.

franchement pas terrible, plutôt genre auberge de jeunesse ….entrée autonome c’est bien. la connection pour s’enregistrer sur place : long et fastidieux chambre minimaliste pas de table ni de lampe de chevet pas de télévision pas de machine à café ni bouilloire pas de produit cheveux dans la douche et après signalement en ligne le shampoing a été rempli mais pas l’après shampooing aucun ménage fait en une semaine (période de carnaval en plus !!!! confettis partout) on a decouvert a la fin de séjour qu’il y avait une mini cuisine et cafetière bouilloire a notre disposition en bas. Avant ça aurait été pratique . À mon avis, tout peut être facilement bien amélioré par une bonne information. Le lieu est idéal et les locaux agréables.

Check in was relatively complicated as the instructions to use the tablet in the foyer were old as no tablet exists in the foyer. Staff on the chat were extremely helpful, however. Bedding was clean but room was incredibly dusty and there was no shower gel/ shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom.

In den Duschen ist Schimmel. Bei meinem Kollegen in einem anderen Zimmer ist das Fenster offen gelassen worden, als er das Zimmer bezog war es eiskalt. Der Boden im Badezimmer war schmutzig. Am Anfang hat es ewig gedauert, bis wir unsere Zimmer beziehen konnten, weil wir die Codes per Email nicht erhalten haben.... Alles schade, alles vermeidbar. Positives: Die Kaffeemaschinen und die Gemeinschaftsräume waren super! Die Snackangebote auch. Das Bett war sauber und sehr kuschlig. Uns wurde sehr schnell geholfen, als wir nicht in die Zimmer kamen. Die Lage ist natürlich unschlagbar. Danke für die Baselcity Tickets- das war ein sehr überraschender positiver Punkt.

Best thing about this place is the convenience and the lounge area you can stay in after checkout! Room was tiny and cute and had everything I needed , comfy bed and blankets!

Je ne comprends pas les commentaires ultra négatifs… l’hôtel est bien placé, le lobby est cosy et on peut même y prendre un café. Il y a aussi une petite cour intérieure avec tables et chaises. La chambre est simple mais efficace. Ça a été un set up parfait pour aller au stade

Hår fra tidligere gæster på badeværelset. Store klatter på væggene, ødelagte lamper, og sofaerne i lobbyen var så ulækre så man havde ikke engang lyst til at sidde i dem. Det eneste der manglede var at der lå et brugt kondom under sengen.. Så ulækkert var det.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to, with atrocious customer service. It started as soon as we got there, when it took 20 min (as opposed to the promised 5) to get the code to enter our room. Then, we had trouble getting Basel cards. Bafflingly, the hotel claimed they didn’t have my name and birthday, despite the fact that I gave them this info not an hour before during check in. Instead, I got a WhatsApp from a total stranger asking me for my information. Even after I gave it, I never got a Basel card. It was not worth it to bring it back up because the last thing I wanted was to give more info to a stranger who did not seem to understand why I found this interaction unprofessional and confusing. The real problem was the room. The shower did not work and sprayed into the bathroom.The room was covered in dead bugs. The hand towels were covered in dead bugs. Live bugs still covered the ceiling. It clearly had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. We suffered through a night. When we woke up, the problem was even worse. There were even more bugs. We sent videos to the help team. While they offered to change our room and refund our first night, they refused to give us a refund because “the weather causes bugs”. Why would a new room help if the issue was the weather? Why don't other hotels have this problem? It is nonsensical. I ate the cost and stayed at a clean hotel. I have no confidence in this place and will never stay at any Becozy pop up hotel again. DO NOT COME

The place was dirty and stinked with cigarette smoke, cigarette butts and rubbish in the shared areas like stairs and lift. It was also very noisy. The folks above me were making lots of noise all night. The WhatsApp support was very helpful but the ph number provided in the email was different. As you can see, I canceled all future reservations for this property. Yes, it’s cheap bit but it’s not worth the money.

Am Anfang hat es ewig gedauert, bis wir unsere Zimmer beziehen konnten, weil wir die Codes per Email nicht erhalten haben.... Alles schade, alles vermeidbar. Positives: Die Kaffeemaschinen und die Gemeinschaftsräume waren super! Die Snackangebote auch. Das Bett war sauber und sehr kuschlig. Uns wurde sehr schnell geholfen, als wir nicht in die Zimmer kamen. Die Lage ist natürlich unschlagbar. Danke für die Baselcity Tickets- das war ein sehr überraschender positiver Punkt.

Le travail de femmes de chambre est très bien mais les équipements sont sales, la chambre sentait la cigarette. Les photos parleront d'elles-mêmes.

Please realize this is a budget hotel, not Swissotel. That said, with that out of the way, it’s perfectly serviceable if you have realistic expectations. Upon arrival I hadn’t received the mail with the codes for access to the building and room, obviously because I ordered a couple of hours in advance and not, say, 40. Glaeza at customer service was very helpful, though, and I soon got the info I needed. The next day the access code for the main entrance had unexpectedly changed, and I couldn’t get in. This time Maryem at customer service sorted the problem out in no-time. The room itself has a rather hard bed, but I slept well nevertheless, and the sheets and linens were clean. The curtains have seen some obvious use, but blocked the daylight just fine. The mains outlets are few, and the switches illogically laid out, but no deal breaker. And the street is noisy, with loud talking late at night, as the hotel is situated downtown. The bathroom was actually impeccably cleaned, and I had no issues with it. I would come back, especially considering the horrendously priced competition.

Je ne sais pas par où commencer. Par des restes de chocolat (j’espère) écrasés sur la tête de lit, un tuyau de douche tellement court que pour se mouiller la tête il faut s’accroupir, des murs en papier qui font trembler le lit dès que les voisins ferment une porte trop brutalement, d’une porte qui ferme de travers et n’apporte que très peu de sécurité, en plus de la lumière, ou un service qui quand on demande une chambre au calme nous met certe en hauteur mais donnant sur la rue principale du tram et du petit square de marginaux qui eux ne dorment pas la nuit. PLUS JAMAIS!!

Zona strategica e vicina al centro sia a piedi che con l'autobus numero 8. Stanza poco puliti soprattutto sotto il letto con tanta polvere. Nessuna aria condizionata ed è ormai un problema anche in Svizzera ad agosto. Personale contattabile solo via whatsapp il chè, diventa difficile per chi non è esperto con la tecnologia, ciò nonostante molto cordiale.

Die Matratze war komplett durchgelegen. Sowas habe ich noch nie erlebt. Als ob ein Loch in der Matratze war. Total dreckig alles und laute Umgebung

Communication regarding how to check-in (even enter the building) was not good. The assumption that we all have access to all our email accounts at all times or that emails happen instantaneously caused me big trouble. I was very lucky that my wife was home and that I could get a wi-fi signal so I could face time her and she was able to play middleman was the only reason i got in at all. It sucked and it took hours. There is no AC and the room temperature was sauna-like. Noise from the street was terrible as you had to leave the window open for the room to cool down at all during the night. I would not return, ever.

Das Checkin hat nicht funktioniert. Ich habe 3 Stunden gebraucht um kontakt mit dem Kundensupport aufzubauenn und eine Lösung zu finden damit ich meine Zimmernummer und den Code für den Schlüssel bekam. Nach 3 Stündiger Wartezeit konnte ich endlich in mein Zimmer.

It’s pretty frustrating when you arrive at a self-check in hotel and there are no keys in the lockbox, the issue was resolved fairly quickly but it did involve me sat on the stairs for a while, nice concept but the execution not perfect

The hotel itself was standard and average - relatively clean bathrooms and nicely decorated common areas. The check in process was confusing, and I had some confirmations that said a 2pm check in and some that stated 4pm. Thankfully, the WhatsApp app support was excellent and soon cleared up questions I had, but it was not a smooth process and I witnessed multiple other people struggling with main door access, access to their rooms, and the online check in process. I would only recommend staying here if you have time to spend messing around and working through a clunky check in with no human presence in the hotel to help.

Increíble! Me dejaron hacer check in antes porque llegué demasiado temprano. Pese a que es un hotel sin personal, la atención del equipo vía WhatsApp y correo electrónico fue de primer nivel. Me sentí de ansiado bien con ellos! Gracias

I booked a large room. On the day of arrival it turned out my room in unavailable. The hotel offered me a smaller room and a refund. I agreed and got a small room but no refund. No one has replied to my emails since then.

A little information for fellow travellers: If you are planning to stay here make sure you (a) get your Basel card and front door access code by email (b) Number 50 bus will take you from the airport to the main train station (free with your Basel card). Take the number 8 tram to Kaserne (the hotel is just 50 metres from this stop (again free with Basel card). C) You will need your front door code to enter the lobby and you will need a qr code or be cozy booking reference to get your room ( If you book with Hotels . Com you will NOT be sent either. You MUST get in touch with Be cozy in advance to get this reference. To be fair, their live chat and email responses are quick. Once in, the room is basic but the bedding, towels etc are clean. The heating and shower are great. Location wise the hotel is just across the river from the old town and there are a few very nice restaurants nearby.

At a fault of my own me and a friend booked this hotel not realising it was in the middle of the red light district, this at times did feel un easy walking the streets in the evening. That being said it was a nice stay and easily walkable to places. Although it’s self check in, staff were reachable via the phone which was helpful.

Loved the balcony I got! As with many unstaffed hotels booked through hotels.com I didn't automatically get check in instructions by email but had to request it. But they answered really quickly on whatsapp. Central location in quiet side street.
