Absolutely loved my stay here! Perfect location to do the Cliff walk and enjoy the mansions of Newport. Staff were so lovely. Breakfast was delicious and the wine & canapés each day at 5-6pm was a lovely touch. I enjoyed them in front of the fire. The room was excellent! I stayed in the Lark suite; huge tub, gorgeous marble bathroom, a lovely gas fireplace that kept the room warm and cozy. Very clean. And homemade chocolate chip cookies available each evening by the tea/coffee station. Wonderful! Will return!

Oven baked cookies in the afternoon, always available tea, coffee and water, beautiful sitting rooms, lovely outside areas with wrap around porch, fire pit, flowers, trees, just the perfect getaway in everyway.

Very cozy and loved the fireplaces. Enjoyed the games in the cozy library. Breakfast and reception hour were good. Easy checkin and checkout. Enjoyed the fire pit they had burning as weather permitted. Super easy to get to the cliff walk. Would have liked more easy plugs for charging devices.

Such an amazing Inn! Perched above the walk & the setting was so tranquil & beautiful. We spent two evenings sitting at the fire pit enjoying the peace & drinking a glass of wine (lovely afternoon wine & snacks provided!). We loved our room - the decor was stunning - so many special touches. Breakfast was also a treat! Can’t wait to come back! Truly a special place!

A gem. Perfect location right at the start of the Cliff Walk. We had the Lark room: next to the main house, quiet and private, charming, comfortable bed, gas fireplace, partial sea view, big bathroom with shower and jacuzzi tub. Wine and snacks between 5 and 6 pm offered in the quaint lounge, small but great and delicious choice of self service buffet breakfast. The best place we stayed at in the US.

We enjoyed our stay at Cliffside Inn - beautiful property and great location (not downtown, but on the Cliff Walk). Great communication from the property in terms of arrival, check-in, etc.. We had a rental car and parking was included and very easy.

The Cliffside Inn is a charming victorian style B&B. The rooms are beautifully decorated in keeping with the style and charm of the inn. We stayed in the Blue Room which had a Queen 4 post bed, window nook and updated bathroom and fireplace. The room was comfortable and impecably clean. The staff was warm and friendly and very helpful. There is free onsite parking as well. We enjoyed the homemade cookies and excellent coffee provided for free. The location is great. The Inn is within walking distance to Easton's Beach and the access to the Cliff Walk is right down the street. The area is beautiful and quiet. I highly recommend the Inn and would stay there again.

This was a beautiful property. The only two things I didn't like were there were cobwebs up in the chandelier and corners high in the ceiling. Not fun to be in bed and look up at those. There was a dangerous step leading out the walkway and although there was a light fixture on it the fixture wasn't turned on all 3 nights I was there. I complained about the light and they still didn't manage to get it turned on. The wallkway in general was just very poorly lit. I spent a lot of money to stay here so everything was expected to be a A

Lovely staff and the house had lots of character, plus ocean view and proximity to Cliff Walk. Enjoyed the library, grounds, availability of tea and snacks as well as wine hour and nicely prepared breakfast. Overall, the property had been well restored and updated. But there were places in the room I stayed in where paint was noticeably chipping, and the towels are way past their prime. Expected a little more attention to details and amenities in the room from a place that basically does everything else really well. A nice place to stay, and I'd consider staying again, just think they could make a few small upgrades to make it a higher-quality experience.

Amazing sums up the welcome, and all the categories rated. Karen was very pleasant and made the check in experience exceptionally pleasant. Property is gorgeous and room is extremely clean and feels very homelike.

Beautiful historic property. Lovely grounds. Comfortable, immaculate room/ bed, gorgeous common areas. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast before heading down the block to the Cliff Walk. Convenient to the cliffside mansions, an easy trip to main shopping and dining areas.

The Inn employees were extremely hospitable and friendly 😊 The room was lovely, and fairly quiet, even though it was the only room located on the first floor. Parking is convenient, and a short walk from the front door there is a fire pit with a sitting area on the property. We did hear some of the other guests arrive back to the Inn later at night. And with the stairs to the 2nd floor being right next to our room, the Victorian, we did hear guests bump their luggage up and down the stairs. The food that was offered for breakfast was made right there in the Inn kitchen, and was delicious! There are chairs and tables on the wrap around deck, and the weather was perfect, with a gentle breeze, for dining outside. Overall, I would say the property is exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay celebrating our wedding anniversary 😊 If I could make one suggestion, however, it would be to only allow children 12 and up to stay at the Inn. Both mornings around 8 am we could hear the children of one of the guests being very loud right outside our door. Luckily, we didn’t want to sleep in on those days!

Absolutely loved my stay here! Perfect location to do the Cliff walk and enjoy the mansions of Newport. Staff were so lovely. Breakfast was delicious and the wine & canapés each day at 5-6pm was a lovely touch. I enjoyed them in front of the fire. The room was excellent! I stayed in the Lark suite; huge tub, gorgeous marble bathroom, a lovely gas fireplace that kept the room warm and cozy. Very clean. The Tower Suite is a special place. Private entrance, two floors, and a private parking space. Respectfully, my wife and I weren’t there to mingle with other guests and loved the privacy. A stones throw from cliff walk access. We covered 17 miles in 2 days on foot between the cliff walk and our strolls into downtown Newport which is roughly 3/4 mile. Our car didn’t move until we regrettably headed back to reality…

We had such a wonderful stay here. We were given the Cliff Suite which is in a cottage across from the main house. I would happily live in there, the decor was beautiful and the jet tub was big enough for 3! We arrived late after our flighty was delayed and the keys left out for us. The breakfast was delicious and different each day. It was lovely to have a coffee by the fire. We will definitely be back if we return to the area.

A very quaint adorable property with a great location near cliff walk and not far from Thames street and the Warf. Staff was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the Tower room. Nice view from there but the bed on the other hand was terrible. That needs to be replaced as soon as possible. The bathroom was downstairs which was a little inconvenient in the middle of the night. Otherwise, the place was lovely.

The room was very nice and the ocean view was as advertised. We only stayed one night, but if we are ever back in Newport for a longer visit, this is the place we will be looking to stay. The only minor hiccup was that the room was not ready at 4:00, but the area is nice and we walked on the Cliff Walk for a bit until the room was ready. We enjoyed the breakfast which had a good variety of choices. All in all, this is a charming location with an acomodating staff and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Both Bethany and Katey were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and convenient. The french press coffee was a fabulous touch all day. The inn was beautiful and welcoming. So many special touches.

We enjoyed our stay at Cliffside Inn - beautiful property and great location (not downtown, but on the Cliff Walk). Great communication from the property in terms of arrival, check-in, etc.. We had a rental car and parking was included and very easy.

We had a great stay at Cliffside Inn. The staff were kind, professional and accommodating. The room was top notch! Very comfortable, clean, well appointed. Breakfast was delicious each morning. We didn’t stay for wine hour - but it looked yummy with six wine options as two hot appetizers, all complimentary. I hope to return!

The house and rooms are beautifully appointed and charming. However, for the high price they charge - would expect more of a personal touch or some kind of services. Check in and out was basically just picking up and leaving your key - no real greeting or welcoming. When we inquired about things to do - there was no offer of help to coordinate and no advice or guidance offered (it was almost as if they were surprised we were asking....doesn't that come with the territory of running an Inn?). Many missed opportunites for them to "plus up" the experience....things that take little to no money or effort. House was beautiful, but really no special touches or service mentality.

I loved everything about The Cliffside Inn. At first, I didn’t love my room because I didn’t realize I had booked a room with a staircase leading to the bathroom. The staff quickly found us a new and better room. I always looked forward to breakfast every morning as there was always something new and delicious to feast on, and I loved the idea of wine hour!! Loved all the fireplaces throughout the common area and the bedrooms. The staff was always friendly and very accommodating. I was sad to leave but my husband and I will definitely come back! Will definitely recommend the Cliffside Inn!!

The location is literally steps away from the Cliff Walk- so you can venture out for the most beautiful views. Easy walkable to the Breakers for instance. I loved the decor of the property- gorgeous updated wallpaper- just enough to make it more modern but keeping old world charm. We had the Turner Suite and I was obsessed with the colors and we had a lovely ocean view. Our room was lovely and bright too. Breakfast was a great choice of 'small plates' -frittata, breads, fruit, overnight oats. Water and coffee are always available. We sat outside facing the lovely garden most mornings but plenty of room inside too. At 5 pm wine and appetizers are put out for an hour or so which was also a lovely touch not to mention the devine chocolate chip cookies that were out. Walk into 'town' is about 15 minutes and you can cut through some neighborhoods if not in the mood for the main road.

It was a terrific room. Everything was very nice. There were a couple minor little flaws in the bedroom like the bed had one area that was torn. The fireplace worked perfectly so that was nice. The shower was slightly, not working terrifically but it got the job done and the shower was gorgeous.
