Super 8 by Wyndham Ticonderoga

I have stayed here several times, and the past few times things have happened which have caused me to reconsider staying here again. However, it’s convenient to where I need to be, the price is right and there are few options to stay right in town. Breakfast cannot be really called that - you’re lucky to get a tiny packaged muffin and a piece of fruit. However, Walmart and restaurants are close by. Rooms have a microwave and refrigerator so you can bring your own food. This hotel has no elevators, and despite me requesting a first floor room in advance, they were unable to get me one. Not fun if you have large, heavy luggage to carry. I stayed for 3 nights this past visit, and my room was never cleaned the entire time, despite me seeing cleaning staff out in the hallway before leaving my room for the day. I had to request fresh towels and toilet paper from the front desk since they were never replenished. This is a pet-friendly property, and prior to this, I’ve never had any issues with barking dogs, however, during this visit another guest had a dog who barked very loudly on numerous occasions. Before departing, I did the pre-checkout online to specify what time I was leaving. Imagine my surprise when 25 minutes before that time, with my “Do Not Disturb” sign still on the door, cleaning staff entered my room without knocking. I was in the bathroom and not fully dressed. They claimed their sheet indicated I was already checked out. This was a bit disturbing.

Property needs to be updated

Our room was perfectly ok. I wasn't expecting much with the price we got for the room. But there was black mold in the tub, and that's unacceptable in a motel. The bed was comfy, and the staff was pretty nice. Breakfast was disappointing. No elevator.

Very very clean. Pillows were uncomfortable. No lights in the parking lots are concerning at night for safety issues

It was pet friendly

This location was nothing fancy. What it was however, was incredibly accomodating. The hotel itself is a bit run down and needs some modernization. The location is great though, there is a walmart in the same complex as well as fast food restaurants. What made this a great experience for us was the staff. They went above and beyond with our early check in request. Everything was basically closed on sunday and they helped us with brochures of what tourist activities were open. The pet fee is only $15. I would stay here again just because of them.

While this hotel had the Wyndham name on it, it was still a Super 8. No elevator, not clean in the public areas, outdated.

Absolutely last time I will be staying there. Had been staying every week for business purposes. Always put in the same room, it always woken up between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. by housekeeping staff who are directly across from this room. Obnoxious loud conversations no respect for the guests that are sleeping. There's absolutely no lights in any of the parking lots which is a huge safety issue. Continuous construction workers who are loud obnoxious and smoking marijuana. Definitely not a recommendation for anybody to stay here. The room was absolutely filthy.

I have stayed here a few times in past years and I was pleased with everything. No frills, but a great value. My recent visit was a disappointment. Dirty lobby and hallways, cold coffee at breakfast, slow drains, dirty, damaged walls in the room, orange tinted hot water for the oatmeal, moldy bath, off-colored "white" towels. Not good. Wyndham should be concerned about the reflection on their brand.

This place is not clean. Bathroom was especially dirty. Do not recommend.

Upon entering the hotel, the carpeting is dirty and stained. Stairwell carpeting is also very dirty and stained as well as hallways. The room in general had cobwebs in the corners of the ceilings, the furniture in the room was disgusting, the chair in the room had stains on the fabric, the wall had been patched, and the wall was only primed. You could clearly see where the wall had not been painted properly. The television set did not work. There was no Kleenex and bathmat in the room. The staff was very pleasant and did offer to switch our room for one and which the television that worked, but it was our choice not to move. It was very clear that the premises are in the middle of a renovation, but rooms should not be turned over to guests until they are totally completed or they’ve had an overall inspection done on them. The room was clearly not worth $200 for one night. I would not recommend this hotel or return there for another stay

Just felt old and dirty. The floor in the room could not have been washed for God knows how long. Price was right. You get what you paid for. Never will being staying there again.

Only stayes overnight as part of a ling road trip. Very basic room. The room itself was clean and the bed was comforable. A BIG disappointment was the condition and cleanliness of the bathroom. Mold along the edge of the tub and faucets showed signs of rust from age.

The bathroom was terrible. Mold on the shower. Shower rod about to fall off the wall. Shower head came off downspout. Dirty in corners. Tub missing grab bar. Hole in shower. Vanity was slapped together with wood/plywood that was not covered. Sheetrock on back of sink was torn and exposed. No hook on back of door; just the old bracket. Towel rack loose on wall. Light switch did not work properly between beds.

This was an interesting property based on prior reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The location was quiet, and peaceful. The bedroom was spotless and very clean. The bathroom needs addressing. Looks like the shower/ tub area was not originally cleaned and the black mold formed into the glue calking on the side and around the drain. No amount of housekeeping will fix this- it needs stripped and recalked then daily cleaning will prevent any black mold from forming in the future. The only other thing needing correction is coaching on housekeeping- if you take away our hand towels, please give us new ones. The coffee nook was nice with fresh coffee and hot water for tea and daily news. The breakfast to go was fine- muffins, fruit, juice, cereal. Over all ok, certainly not terrible.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, very quiet

The room was on the low side of adequate. The mattress was like sleeping on a brick and the pillows were hard also. The floors were sticky and towels had an odor and were thin.

The side of the hotel on the left side of the lobby, (on the side of the parking lot) is quite noisy caused by traffic or whatever machines from restaurants close by.

we returned from a day out in the adirondak about 10:40p and found ourselves locked out of our room. the locking mechanism had broke. they finally put us in another room about 90 minutes after the problem was reported, but we still couldn't go to sleep because we had prescription medications and a CPAP machine that was needed for sleep. they finally got the door open around 1 in the morning. i understand things happen that is out of expectations, but when you're waiting 2.5 hours just to get your medications so you can sleep and you're already exhausted can be incredibly frustrating. i thought we might get some credit to our account, but it was never offered. i shouldn't have needed to ask -- so i didn't. i wanted to see how the management would handle it. i was disappointed. the pricing was also significantly higher than most other places around. i realize ticonderoga is a small town, but it seems they use that to their benefit and take advantage of the lack of hotels in the area to gouge customers. lastly we had free Wi-Fi, but it was useless and rarely worked. i understand we were in the mountains and that plays a part of it. but don't tell customers the wi-fi works and again, set false expectations. i was very disappointed with our stay in Ticonderoga and will likely try to find alternatives in our next visit to that area. i WILL say the staff (while stressed by the situation) tried to be helpful.

The rooms are very basic. Window air conditioner. Says there is internet but there is none. There is a Walmart and Dunkin Donuts close by.

The beds were very uneven and lumpy and the breakfast was very simple: packaged pastries, fruit cups, the dregs of a pitcher of OJ, and two remaining yogurt cups. The place is fine, but overpriced for the condition of the beds and breakfast.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, truly top notch. The rooms are simple but fine. Last time my bed was fine but this time got a room with two double beds, and both mattresses were without question the worst I’ve ever encountered in any hotel, or anywhere else for that matter. When you sat on one, you sank almost through. Not because they were soft, mind you - just totally broken springs, like, I’ve really never encountered anyt Like it. Otherwise it’s a perfectly adequate hotel, only other complaint is the breakfast, which is NOT a breakfast, just cheap little muffin things like you might get at a convenience store, individually wrapped and not fresh. So it’s not the Ritz but it’s ok for the money.

Rooms were updated, however, these things were not working: TV (Blank screen when turned on), microwave carousel didn't move, safe didn't work, fridge didn't have a control to increase temp. (milk froze), and AC grille was on the floor when I returned. The worst thing was the noise, had to call front desk at 1 point. Yelling, slamming doors late at night.

This place needs a major upgrade and remodel. There not enough outlets no usb ports

Without a doubt the friendliest staff at a motel I’ve ever encountered. Super-helpful and funny too. The property… has seen better days. Good luck charging your phone, we had to use the bathroom because there was no available plugs in the room. The beds were ridiculously hard. And the AC unit was louder than a 747 engine — these two facts meant not much sleep happened. Which is a shame because the service was outstanding.

Room was very nice. Staff was very helpful and attentive.

Would never stay here again. Front desk staff were terrible. I booked for two queen beds and showed my confirmation and they gave us a room with double beds, saying that was what they got from Expedia.

Took forever to get checked in and the woman at the desk claimed they did not accept Capital One CCs???

The young woman who checked us in was very helpful and pleasant. She explained everything efficiently and well.

Fabulous staff

The staff was very nice but didn't cleanour room for three days. We reported it to the night staff each evening and the next day it still wasn't done. Very unhappy. We should have receive a partial refund.

Amazed we were able to get a room on Labor Day weekend at an affordable rate while in the Adirondacks. Easily located off of rt 22 in Ticonderoga, NY. Very comfortable king sized bed with extra pillows hit the spot.

It is was easy to find and good access to highways.

Affordable, attractive property, with a log cabin feel, and a good location on the outskirts of town. Easy access to local attractions. A great stay.

We were very disappointed first of all, in the limited and almost non existent breakfast options and breakfast bar in general. The room was uninviting, there was literally just a couple fruit cups and no hot water. We noticed upon entering the room, that the smoke detector as ripped out. They did replace it a day later. Of course, it should have been taken care of before they rented us the room. Certainly the cleaning staff should've noticed it. The counters in the room were not clean or wiped.

all was good except for breakfast. breakfast was cup of coffee, an apple. and a small packaged muffin or pastry.

Good place for quick overnight stay. Not much to choose from for breakfast. We had to ask for towels in our room. Other than that, we were satisfied with a comfortable stay.

We were there 2 nights. The room was clean and functional. The bed very comfortable and we could watch the Yankees on TV. I did not know there was breakfast included so was surprised to see there was! But not really! Coffee and packaged muffins. McDonalds was next door... Ask for the 2nd floor. There were people above us that were very loud at awful times...

Place is pretty run down. Breakfast is just pre-packaged pastries, with coffee but no juices. Price was higher than nice hotels we stayed in in Vermont.

Their was nothing for breakfast when I went down to dinning room around 730 am

Over all OKAY. Breakfast was just muffins.
