We loved every minute of our stay. If I had one complaint it would be that our stay wasn’t long enough. The room was perfect. Although for two women traveling together we had wished for just one more mirror. Haha The beds were so comfortable that it was hard to leave them come morning. Every member we encountered was more than helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great!! Community coffee on tap was the best. I will say I would have also liked to have had that in our room too. But it’s definitely not a dealbreaker of any kind. The location was quite conveniently located yet gave a sense of security and seclusion at the same time. Parking was great. Checking in and out was the easiest process I’ve ever experienced. You can hear street noises but it had no affect on our ability to sleep or our stay. My daughter and I had planned our first of many girls trip. When we started planning we both said we wanted to stay in a place that was an experience not just another hotel. Y'all perfectly provided that for us!! We will be back! C'est ce bon!

Mouton Plantation B&B made our first trip to the South a very memorable one! Donell and her staff are wonderful ambassadors and the epitome of southern hospitality, warm and charm. The breakfasts were homemade and excellent, and music by John in the parlour room, really allowed us to learn much about the history and culture of the region. The rooms were all beautifully arranged, and the grounds graced by huge oak trees were stunning. Mouton Plantation B&B is excellent value for any visitor and this and their other services are highly recommended for anyone visiting Lafayette, Louisiana. This is a true gem of the South!

What a charming and delightful experience staying at Mouton Plantation Bed & Breakfast. It was a real treat. Thank you for being Pet Friendly. This was why we found you in the first place. The property is lovely and we felt quite secure. The breakfast was also lovely and filling. Your staff was accommodating and pleasant. The only thing I did not like was that we stayed only one night. We will return and have recommended your B&B with others already.

Interesting historical house near downtown Lafayette. The patio area is really lovely and the room we had was quite large. A dehumidifier runs in the room and I think the room would smell a bit of mildew without it. But to be fair, it's an old building in the deep south so it is to be expected. The breakfast was really delicious and the staff was quite welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. We went downtown on the advice of the staff and were glad we utilized the recommendation. We were also treated to some Zydeco music upon arrival.

Alex, a young man from France, checked us in and was especially helpful and kind. We took his recommendation for authentic Cajun food and it was excellent. Donelle, the manager was wonderful as well, giving us a personal tour of the house along with many stories. She and her family were part of the rich history of the area, so she had many inside anecdotes. This is a special place to stay if you have any interest in delving deeper into Lafayette and Cajun heritage.

Our stay was delightful!! Everyone was so kind and wanted our stay to be wonderful, and it was! We stayed in the Cypress Room, which was large, great amenities, and a single person claw foot tub. We had our medium size dog, and he, too, was welcomed! The breakfast was very tasty but lack luster for a B&B. I highly recommend this 200+ year old sugar plantation!! We will visit again.

The room was nice sized and comfortable The main room had a feel of older days with a large chandelier and lamps There were fresh flowers everywhere and the breakfast were tasty with interesting guests The only thing negative is the walls are thin and you can hear voices from the room next to you . But overall a. Ice non sterile chain feeling. Parking was available as well .

Amazing stay! We had such a pleasant stay. The staff is so kind and welcoming. We stayed in the bourbon cabin, very clean and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Louisiana.

This was a gorgeous property tucked away in Lafayette. The towels weren't very clean and the breakfast was cold. I was admittedly 10 minutes late to walk my service dog for a potty break. There was no set for us as if they weren't expecting us to have breakfast. We did say we wanted breakfast the day before, so it was just a little awkward and confusing. Other than the towels in our room and the breakfast debacle this was gorgeous. They were nice to my service dog and I would stay here again. I'll recommend it to my friends and family for sure.

We attempted to stay at this property. The house itself, and the grounds, are lovely. I love history homes. Needs a bit of TLC, but not a big deal, especially for the price. The area isn’t the most ideal, but not terrible and like I said, the grounds are lovely. However when we attempted to go to bed, there were three coach roaches in one bed. We didn’t even check the others, just contacted the after hours line and left. Booked another hotel down the road. When we contacted Expedia about the stay, the owner of the Bed & Breakfast actually made up an entire story about us. That two of my group left in the night because of a raccoon and that after I ate breakfast I confronted him about the raccoon. I actually thought he must’ve gotten me mixed up with another guest. But no. He completely lied. Despite the images of roaches and my messages on the platform to him at 11pm (not to mention the call) AND my receipt for another hotel. So, the roaches are the least of the issue here. It is the management or owner that is scary.

The property and grounds are beautiful. I was leery when I arrived as the surrounding area is a little suspicious. My sister who is from there later relayed she was at first concerned but as their reviews were high she hadn't rec that I change location. The bed and linens were so comfortable and breakfast was delicious. My only true issue was with the door - the dead bolt was sticking and I had difficulty getting it locked and actually had to call for someone to let me out once I did. They assured me they would fix it and felt it was from the recent snow and wet conditions.

On balance, this was a very nice place to stay. It is in the heart of Lafayette, but that carries both good and bad. It was a bit noisy, from lots of sirens to hearing people walk around and talk in the room above. Breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed talking to other guests. John Hebert's local music demonstration was very nice. My only major complaint was the toilet. Was this meant for a child? The flimsy, two-dollar seat didn't even fit. For these prices, buy a real toilet seat that didn't come from the dollar store. Sheesh.

Lovely old house and out buildings converted into a hotel. Room was large and comfy. Breakfast was served family style and a fixed menu of shrimp and grits and a biscuit, it was very tasty. Staff all very friendly. Lovely place to stay.

The staff at the accommodation are very nice. We even got a little private concert from a member of staff. The breakfast is also very good. We were served pancakes and you sit together with all the guests at one table and therefore get to socialise with other guests. The furnishings are very old but clean. Unfortunately, our sofa was completely worn out and should actually be restored. What we didn't like was that we lived downstairs and heard someone walking above us in the apartment. We enjoyed our stay. There are beautiful large oak trees on the grounds. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Live Oak cabin. It was cute and clean. The two beds are just double beds which was a tight squeeze for me and my husband. Other than the smaller beds, I would recommend the Live Oak cabin. The breakfast was delicious and we really liked meeting the other guests at the communal breakfast table.

Our room was a loft, spacious but dark. The bathtub has no handshower and we were puzzled to have only feet towels. No shower towels were left in our room! We only stayed for one night and slept poorly because of the noise from the road and some very noisy guests arriving in the middle of the night. Breakfast was very poor. We do not recommend this place.

Mouton Plantation B&B made our first trip to the South a very memorable one! Donell and her staff are wonderful ambassadors and the epitome of southern hospitality, warm and charm. The breakfasts were homemade and excellent, and music by John in the parlour room, really allowed us to learn much about the history and culture of the region. The rooms were all beautifully arranged, and the grounds graced by huge oak trees were stunning. Mouton Plantation B&B is excellent value for any visitor and this and their other services are highly recommended for anyone visiting Lafayette, Louisiana. This is a true gem of the South!

Important to note, if you have a federally recognized disability like my husband the manager will violate federal and Louisiana state law and charge you a dog cleaning fee. Also important to note that if they downgrade your room they will also refuse to refund you the difference. Be cautious and way the pros and cons.

Alex, a young man from France, checked us in and was especially helpful and kind. We took his recommendation for authentic Cajun food and it was excellent. Donelle, the manager was wonderful as well, giving us a personal tour of the house along with many stories. She and her family were part of the rich history of the area, so she had many inside anecdotes. This is a special place to stay if you have any interest in delving deeper into Lafayette and Cajun heritage.

Property is charming! Very nice and clean. Excellent location. However, check in process was very bad. We got at 8pm and notified the host about it. Received instructions but the name of the room was not posted anywhere close to the door so we ended up walking around on a rainy night for 45 min trying to find our room. Called to the number provided and it goes directly to an answer machine. Thanks to the Expedia customer support, that somehow found a way to talk to the host, we were able to find the room.

Overall, horrible experience: 1st night 1. Room wasn’t prepared with a/c unit on 2. It was 102 degrees outside. We had to leave to allow the room to cool. Well that didn’t work. 3. Slept hot all night 4. Cooled off around noon 5. Tried napping 6. 2:30pm woke up to vacuuming above us NO REST!!!! Day 2: 1. Midnight, room starting having water leak/pour from the ceiling 2. Moved to a different room with No Help 3. Not a handicap room either 4. Steps to get to bathroom 5. Toilet fit for a Toddler 6. 2:30am Woken up by upstairs neighbor 7. 3:30am No rail to get down bath steps, fell on valet 8. 5:30am toilet hurt ASKED HUSBAND TO LEAVE!!! We stayed until 7:30am only because we were to tired to drive. One of the worst experiences. The manager was supposed to call me. Did that happen???? NO

We loved every minute of our stay. If I had one complaint it would be that our stay wasn’t long enough. The room was perfect. Although for two women traveling together we had wished for just one more mirror. Haha The beds were so comfortable that it was hard to leave them come morning. Every member we encountered was more than helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great!! Community coffee on tap was the best. I will say I would have also liked to have had that in our room too. But it’s definitely not a dealbreaker of any kind. The location was quite conveniently located yet gave a sense of security and seclusion at the same time. Parking was great. Checking in and out was the easiest process I’ve ever experienced. You can hear street noises but it had no affect on our ability to sleep or our stay. My daughter and I had planned our first of many girls trip. When we started planning we both said we wanted to stay in a place that was an experience not just another hotel. Y'all perfectly provided that for us!! We will be back! C'est ce bon!

The room was advertised as the Bourbon Suite which I assumed was in the main house. After I booked it the email received said we would be staying in the Bourbon cottage….which was a cottage not very close to the main house which is where breakfast was served…so that was discouraging. The B&B is located in a sketchy part of town. We did not feel safe. During the day we saw well-advertised prostitutes walking the street and at night it was very noisy with a lot of drag racing on the road that is in front of the B&B. Also heard several police cars with sirens. The breakfast was nicely prepared and delicious. The property and grounds are beautiful. I was leery when I arrived as the surrounding area is a little suspicious. My sister who is from there later relayed she was at first concerned but as their reviews were high she hadn't rec that I change location. The bed and linens were so comfortable and breakfast was delicious. My only true issue was with the door - the dead bolt was sticking and I had difficulty getting it locked and actually had to call for someone to let me out once I did. They assured me they would fix it and felt it was from the recent snow and wet conditions.

On balance, this was a very nice place to stay. It is in the heart of Lafayette, but that carries both good and bad. It was a bit noisy, from lots of sirens to hearing people walk around and talk in the room above. Breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed talking to other guests. John Hebert's local music demonstration was very nice. My only major complaint was the toilet. Was this meant for a child? The flimsy, two-dollar seat didn't even fit. For these prices, buy a real toilet seat that didn't come from the dollar store. Sheesh.

A dehumidifier runs in the room and I think the room would smell a bit of mildew without it. But to be fair, it's an old building in the deep south so it is to be expected. The breakfast was really delicious and the staff was quite welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. We went downtown on the advice of the staff and were glad we utilized the recommendation. We were also treated to some Zydeco music upon arrival.

This was a gorgeous property tucked away in Lafayette. The towels weren't very clean and the breakfast was cold. I was admittedly 10 minutes late to walk my service dog for a potty break. There was no set for us as if they weren't expecting us to have breakfast. We did say we wanted breakfast the day before, so it was just a little awkward and confusing. Other than the towels in our room and the breakfast debacle this was gorgeous. They were nice to my service dog and I would stay here again. I'll recommend it to my friends and family for sure.

I’m giving it four instead of five stars for location. For whatever reason I assumed it was a little more isolated but it’s actually in a very busy area with a lot of traffic noise. The bed was squeaky and sleeping together was a bit challenging, even with a king bed. But the place was wonderful and historical and the staff when present were all top notch. Lots of great tips on things to do and delicious breakfasts. Side note: Prejeans was recommended for dinner and we are passing on that recommendation. Food and service were amazing, especially for such a laid back restaurant.
