A tastefully and comfortably modernised pub in a somewhat downbeat village near the M1 and airport but surprisingly quiet. The M1 is white noise in the background. I couldn't hear the planes. Rooms in the pub's grounds were comfortable with parking right outside and the food was amazing, including breakfast. No soggy mushrooms! If I was a lone female traveller I would feel particularly safe here. Very happy that we broke our journey overnight and will definitely do so again.

Lovey spacious room, nicely furnished. The pub is wonderful inside with a great atmosphere. Amole parking & great food! Staff were all super friendly and very quick service. Would definitely stay here if working in the area again!

Lovely place to stay. Each room has its own front door onto the car park. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The food and drink in the pub is really nice and the breakfast is brilliant. Will stay again if in the area.

We stayed over for a wedding. Rooms were comfy and clean but lots of noise from the neighbours on either side woke us up quite early which was annoying as we were looking forward to Sunday lay in. We didnt have an evening meal but food looked lovely. Breakfast was really nice.

When we stayed at The Royal Oak, the pub was unfortunately closed for refurbishment, but we were called beforehand and told about this. The bedrooms are in separate buildings outside and ours was lovely! It was tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Dinner was served in the function room. We didn’t have dinner as we were out at a sports event, but if breakfast was anything to go by I’m sure it was good. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of dishes and large portions. The three members of staff that we met, the man who helped with our TV, the lady who cleaned our room and the lady who worked at breakfast (sorry, no names) were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you all. We will definitely stay again next year!

The accommodation was very good. To a high standard and the staff where great. The pub uts self was clean tidy and well set out. The staff again where great. A fantastic breakfast and eveni g meal that I had was very good. I would recommend this place.

If you are going to stay here please don’t be fooled by photos of the room you think you are booking. The photos for ’Room 1’ show a room with double aspect windows, that is most definitely not the case, I’m not sure which room it is of but it certainly isn’t Room 1 (or Room 2) The room details say that it has a King Size bed, this also is untrue, it is only a double. There is also an ever pervasive smell of sewage in the bathroom which, as you may imagine, did little to enhance the enjoyment of our stay. When we discovered the issue with the room, the member of staff who checked us in said that the manager would speak to us in the morning. That did not happen. The hotel has refused to communicate with Expedia, who we booked with, but have had the audacity to ask me for a review, so here it is - TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, DO NOT BOOK Having said that, the staff that we encountered were lovely.

Nice pub, great food, especially the vegan fish and chips. The room are really nicely furnished and comfortable. The downside for me was that you can clearly hear the people in the next room which kept me awake until 1am and again at 5am, this is not great when you have business meetings the following day, they really need to do something about the sound insulation. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again.

Enjoyable stay in one of the pub's rooms at the back of the property. Nice big room with settee and two chairs, much better than having to sit on the bed. Tea and coffee, fridge and bottled water are nice extra touches provided for when you get back from a day exploring. Shower good, water hot plus soft towels ( much appreciated!) and very quiet location in a small village with a handy village store in walking distance. Great overall stay.

Its always a pleasent and comfortable stay at The Royal oak Long Whatton. The breakfast is the best I have had anywhere and I have stayed in a lot of places. The staff are always polite and friendly. Nice work.

Rooms in the pub's grounds were comfortable with parking right outside and the food was amazing, including breakfast. No soggy mushrooms! If I was a lone female traveller I would feel particularly safe here. Very happy that we broke our journey overnight and will definitely do so again.

Hotel is easy to find. Simple check in. Rooms are spacious with everything you need. Good wifi connection. Good choice of meals and very tasty and sensibly priced. Whole experience excellent would recommend highly

Lovely little pub and the food in the restaurant was great. The rooms however, have paper thin walls. The guest in the room next to ours left the TV on all night and it was like it was in our room. Even the sound of a spoon in a cup being stirred could be heard. It was a nice place and the location suited us, but it was a sleepless night and so we wouldn’t stay again.

Excellent venue and location. Room was in an annexe that was well maintained and had everything we needed. Food and service were top quality and would highly recommend.

It was good but the food at dinner was disappointing. It was so refined to the point that it lacked any flavour. Plus we think it was expensive. We would stay again but not eat there. It’s in a great location.

A wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff. Perfect location. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Everything you could want. The breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. We have already made another booking which says it all!!!

Enjoyable stay in one of the pub's rooms at the back of the property. Nice big room with settee and two chairs, much better than having to sit on the bed. Tea and coffee, fridge and bottled water are nice extra touches provided for when you get back from a day exploring. Shower good, water hot plus soft towels ( much appreciated!) and very quiet location in a small village with a handy village store in walking distance. Great overall stay.

We stayed over for a wedding. Rooms were comfy and clean but lots of noise from the neighbours on either side woke us up quite early which was annoying as we were looking forward to Sunday lay in. We didnt have an evening meal but food looked lovely. Breakfast was really nice.

A tastefully and comfortably modernised pub in a somewhat downbeat village near the M1 and airport but surprisingly quiet. The M1 is white noise in the background. I couldn't hear the planes. It was only an over night wedding stay, the only real complaint would be the breakfast, bacon was inedible otherwise a great stay

Quiet location, room very clean and comfortable, quality of food in the restaurant is really good, with excellent service and a nice outdoor seating area available for this warm weather!! . One thing to note is the bar and restaurant closed at 6pm on the Sunday, which caught us by surprise , there is a co-op in the nearby village where snacks can be purchased, if needed

Lovely place to stay. Very clean spacious room with parking available opposite so not far to move your stuff from car to room. The pub does a lovely full English cooked fresh to order. I did have an evening meal which was a bit pricey (Steak & chips) but again couldn't fault it, was lush. Staff were friendly, would easily stay here again.
