Cool hotel in a decent area. We were just there for a night but we were very comfortable. It has a cool, fun vibe that we really enjoyed. Great value for the money! The main building has a bar, coffee, and a nice fifth floor outdoor space both nice views.

For being in the heart of Portland, this property is perfect! The underground parking was a luxury that we were very thankful for because we could leave our camping gear in the back without fear of theft. The property is well maintained and the staff was so kind and helpful for us out of towners.

Fun and hip, great outdoor seating areas, convenient location. Restaurant/bar was excellent. Lobby staff could have been more welcoming, but the housekeeping staff were very nice. Room was clean but smelled swampy. Could have used a deeper clean. Upstairs guest was very noisy, could hear every step they took until late at night. Once they went to bed it was quiet. A mini fridge would have been nice.

We chose this place because they offered parking and had heard good things from friends. At check in we were told that they did have parking but they just sold their last spot- why would you say something like that to tired travelers who just shower up? Just say parking not available! Also they said that our room wasn't available for early check in because the cleaners were running late. They offered us another room for $20 more but we were fine to wait. However- when we got in the room it was facing a dumpster, the floor had dirt on it and the comforter was stained with red or pink dots and had crumbs or sand all over. When trying to take a shower we unfolded the towel and a black beetle like bug fell out and scurried away. If we were going to be there longer I would have complained but something tells me they wouldn't have cared. We are headed home to disinfect and wash everything!

The original Jupiter is where we stayed. It's cute, accessible and clean. The room could use some attention. We didn't have hot water in the hand sink at all and the room itself could use a good clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would try a stay at their newer building next time.

We had a great time, staff was amazing and friendly, bar was awesome, loved the outdoor patio area, beds were comfy. Only issue with our stay was that the shower in our room did not drain. Staff immediately offered that we move rooms even though it was 11:30 or so at night, which was greatly appreciated, but the shower in our second room wasn't great either and had a wobbly floor.

If you read the reviews below, you'll notice a recurring theme: the hotel staff is consistently rude. What’s worse, their responses to criticism are filled with gaslighting and passive-aggressiveness. It’s hard to decide whether the rooms or the people are worse, but be warned—there are live bugs, as others have also pointed out. We unfortunately didn’t realize there was a difference between Jupiter and Jupiter NEXT. While the rooms in Jupiter NEXT may be better, you’ll still have to deal with the same staff. Upon checking in, we asked about the differences between the rooms. The front desk employee—recited a script, trying to sugarcoat the truth with words like “vintage,” “music-inspired,” and “cozy.” A bit of honesty would’ve been appreciated; the reality is it’s a grimy knockoff of a Motel 6 with murals as a distraction. Our room smelled disgusting, likely due to the damp carpets, and everything was covered in a layer of dirt and grime. Your socks/feet will turn black if you walk around in the room. The doors didn’t even close properly unless you slammed them shut—a great feeling of safety for women traveling alone, right?

Large difference before NEXT and the OG. OG wifi connection was very weak, difficulty with communicating with reception in the lobby (over at NEXT) based on no phones in the room, relying on cell phone access for communication (we’re from out of country and couldn’t text or call to communicate with hotel).

Fun hotel in a great location, close to shops/restaurants and the light rail. Only downside was that the rooms have absolutely no noise insulation, so when someone is on the balcony outside, it sounds like they are in your room. We had a group come back at 4am and could hear everything they were saying and doing. Not a reason we wouldn't stay again, but something to be mindful of if you're a light sleeper and/or have kiddos.

It was a tiny clean and neat room and the location is great. I probably wouldn’t stay here again though. I was disappointed by the lack of mini fridge and paying extra to park seems a bit stingy especially for the price of the room. Overall it was an okay experience. I really like the courtyard space and the feel of the place.

A very cute and modern stay. Easy to access the parking garage. Room was nicely decorated. Lacked a few basics, like fridge, microwave, full length mirror. The blackout shade worked well. My biggest issue was thin walls—I could hear everyone who walked by and the residents above me walking around. But all in all, a nice stay for one night.

Jupiter Hotel is definitely a motel- 2 floors, all rooms only accessible through outside, no elevator, check in was in a different building across the street. The room I stayed in "Entourage Double" had 2 beds, a table, a nightstand, wall unit heating/cooling, a clothing rack and 5 hangers, hair dryer attached to wall, tv. Room was very dark, the walls painted black except for the mural of David Bowie (pretty cool!) but the lamps in the room were not bright enough. No overhead light at all. Blackout curtains worked quite well. Bathroom had a hair dryer attached to the wall. One individual lotion in a tiny bottle, the rest of the soap and shampoo were in larger bottles attached to the shower wall. (Which I personally appreciate, as the waste from those tiny plastic bottles is excessive.) I asked for an iron and they answered and brought it to me quite fast. Free coffee and tea was available in the common rooms (had to exit the motel room and walk a little to get there.) Cute coffee shop across the street with breakfast options. Walkable to Nong\'s (you must go there) as well as other restaurants and food truck pods. Overall a fine motel, just wish there was a closet and more lighting.

Hotel has no lobby (you check in at the adjacent hotel) and has no microwaves, no mini-fridge, no vending, no coffee makers. They only have $30/day paid parking, which was sold out, so be prepared to circle the block for street parking. And I'm not kidding when I say the rooms are so small, there is no place to set a small suitcase except on the floor blocking your path. We crawled around to find outlets for two phones and wound up unplugging a lamp. Rooms were decently clean and beds were fine. By comparison, there is a clean budget hotel right across the street that offers free parking, microwaves, mini-fridge and even a small closet/luggage area for half the price.

We paid for late check out, but a gentleman from the hotel came to the door and told me I had to leave at the normal time. He was fairly rude and argued with me, didn’t believe me even though I had a screenshot to show him that we’d arranged the late check out. He finally left after standing outside my door texting someone, but never apologized to me for being rude. It was disappointing.

It’s very important to understand which side of the Jupiter Hotel you are staying at. I wasn’t clear when booking and ended up on the motel side of the property. It’s run down and doesn’t feel as luxurious as the pictures look online. You enter/exit straight to the outdoors and the lobby, bar, and reception are across the street. Also, very odd that we had a Jupiter-branded condom “gift” next to our bed.

This would have been a great room for someone who could sleep in the next day. Unfortunately, that was not my situation. Staff knew of the large outdoor party directly adjacent to my room. Instead of blocking it, they placed me there. Upon check in, front desk told me there were a few rooms in the room class I reserved and asked if I had a preference. I said I did not and they put me in a room next to both the utility closet and an outdoor party. I had to take my friends to the airport at 3:30 am, so I was in bed early. Called the front desk when I was awakened by the loud noise of moving BBQ equipment. The front desk encouraged me to hang in there because the BBQ was almost over and the live band should not be too disturbing. They promised to make a note to my file so that if I called a second time they would have a record and could move me. The band played on and I kept waiting for things to get better. As each hour passed, I was that much closer to wake up time and the thought of moving rooms seemed like an increasingly overwhelming task for less payback (sleep). As I was getting up at 3:15, I notified front desk via text of the really bad night. Told them I had previously notified staff. They offered earplugs and a 2 pm check out. By 3:15 am it was quiet, so no earplugs needed and I had to get on the road by 11. I appreciate the efforts of staff. I recommend blocking room 129 at the original property when outdoor events are scheduled.

I stayed at the Jupiter for 2 reasons: it is walkable to Revolution Hall (concert venue) and it offers EV charging. It was the perfect location. There are several great restaurants across the street. The hotel itself is not fancy, but the AC worked (weirdly hot day) and the bed was comfy. There is no coffee in the room, but they have coffee in the lobby. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for work as downtown options were unavailable. The property is funky and rooms very small; it's a motel essentially. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable, but bathroom was tiny! My biggest challenge was finding amenities within walking distance. No stores nearby to purchase basic things like drinks and snacks. The coffee shop across the street was small and had a very limited menu. Also limited hours. Neighborhood didn't feel entirely safe and there were more bars in a three block radius than anything else. Staff was very friendly and responsive, and cleaning staff did a wonderful job. Location was really the big issue for me.

Cool hotel in a decent area. We were just there for a night but we were very comfortable. It has a cool, fun vibe that we really enjoyed. Great value for the money! The main building has a bar, coffee, and a nice fifth floor outdoor space both nice views.

Great hotel experience in Portland — honestly, this is maybe the best hotel/motel we’ve stayed at. The front desk people are super friendly, the bar/lounge was great with really good food, and the outdoor seating in the Jupiter was really welcoming. The room is a little small but you’re not spending time in your room in Portland anyway. And the area around the hotel has many restaurants and breweries. Overall, it was a great vacation in Portland!

This is a motel! While I have not stayed at many they tried update and make it look like a hotel. Our bathroom tub was not cleaned or stained with a lot brown stuff. Luckily there was a rubber Matt put over the area. While I’d say this clean for a motel it still had a smell that felt like something old or mold …. Ac works but it’s quite loud. If you’re someone want peaceful sleep this is not for you !! You can hear all the foot steps above. There is a bar or club plays late into the night past 1-2 am and you can hear all the base come through. I reached out via the app and they responded 1 time and never answered my other questions and it was well over 24 hours. I would not stay here or recommend it to anyone unless the things I listed out is okay with you. Even the lobby was closed at weird times and you could not get water. Internet is pretty slow and the tv will keep asking for a password but I was able to guess it. 00000 or 0000.

Checking in met my expectations of a modern and chic hotel but the room and service felt more like a motel...bathroom and furniture looked tired, chipped and rusty. The bathroom toilet clogged twice on the same evening; when I plunged as hard as I could but with no success, the manager didn't offer any solutions and sounded annoyed. I had to suggest to be moved to a different room...so 3 guests had to pack everything and move at midnight...I left this facility disgusted instead of rested
