Cute little place. Free kayaking, hot tub, pool and sauna. Nice game room with pool tables, foosball and an Atari style game. Superior customer service, definitely will be backs when we have nice weather.

Staff were very nice but the pool and hotub were broken. No mention of broken pool on website or when i booked. They only notified me when i checked in after arriving. Bathroom is very small. I could not sit normally on toilet sithout my knees hitting the wall and i am onky 5ft 8in tall. Also they offer no food minus snacks and there is no delivery service. So unless you bring your own food you have to drive 10mins or so into Ocean Shores. The pictures on website are glorified and make it look much nicer than it is. They did however refund us for one nights stsy when we left early and did not stay the last night we had booked. Staff were very nice.

I enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff were super friendly. It was very clean. My daughter and I enjoyed the pool table. In the summer I would enjoy the pool and kayaks you provided. There were trails near by. Thank you.

The only 4 star is for the condition of the property. I mean i would give it a 4.9. Only think about that is the hot tub. Probably needs to be resurfaced. It's a little green. Other thank that this place is PERFECT. Perfect for families or couples. AND PETS!!! Easy short walk to the beach. Heated pool, they start a fire pit for you. Short drive to downtown ocean shores. Definitely our NEW favorite place to stay.

We found this property to be pretty magical. The balcony and deck overlooked a wooded area that was a labyrinth of paths all leading to the dunes and beach. The whole place is super pet friendly. And the amenities like free kayaks and boats, dog parks, hot tub and pool, clubhouse and fire pit were all amazing. Highly recommend to anyone. We are already planning our next trip here.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable. Easy walk to the beach. We had a great weekend! The evening bonfire was a great way to finish a nice beach day.

I was glad I only booked one night because the unit we were in needed major updates. It was hard to breathe with the musty smell and the carpets and couches needed cleaning. They left a dirty plunger next to our clean towels under the sink. Great location and friendly staff. When I told them in person my concerns they mentioned they were in the process of updating so maybe it’ll get resolved.
I was glad I only booked one night because the unit we were in needed major updates. It was hard to breathe with the musty smell and the carpets and couches needed cleaning. We had a beautiful visit. The accommodations were some of the best in the area, the amenities were amazing, kept my teenager and pups interested the whole visit. Only drawback was the 2 mice in the living room at breakfast on the last morning.

The townhouses are nestled in a quiet forested area and about 15 min drive into town. The pathway to the beach is about a 3 min walk. There is a nice fire pit outside. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The downside of the townhouse was that it was not properly cleaned. The fridge was dirty from the previous guests and the floors had sand and dirt in the main floor and bathroom. The inside is quite dated - could use some fresh paint and newer appliances. There was very little supplies. No extra toilet paper and the roll of paper towel was almost down to nothing. Kitchen did have basic supply of dishes and cups. Although the spiral stairway looks nice, I would not recommend this townhouse for those who have mobility issues or young children who require supervision on stairs. The stairs are solid concrete with pebbles in them and are very narrow. The railing is narrow. Any trips will result in injury on these stairs. The master bedroom is upstairs and the bunk beds are in the hallway so any trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night requires one to go down these stairs. The hot water tank is in the master bedroom which is very unusual. Any one who is using the water downstairs triggers the tank to rumble and make noise. The main floor has a decent sofa bed and chairs. The gas heater is easy to use although we had some trouble trying to regulate the temperature so that it wouldn't be so hot.

We enjoy this property for its laid back but welcoming feel. Everything at the property worked and the fireplace was so cozy. The kitchen was basic but had all we needed . One bed was too soft so I moved to the bunk because of my bad back . That worked !

The Wi-Fi was free but barely usable. While the listing said the unit could accommodate six people, it felt much too small for that many – it’s more comfortable for 2-3 people. The TV was quite small, with poor screen quality, possibly due to a weak connection. The shower door was also a concern, as it was flimsy, not securely installed, and felt unsafe.

Very nice place. I kind of wished the bathroom was on the same level as the bedroom. The stairs hurt my feet walking up and down them because the surface was rocks. Nice to have a kitchen if you wanted to make your own meals

The queen bed was fine, but the bunkbed mattresses were absolutely terrible. Neither person slept well at all because of it. And the bathroom being down a steep flight of stairs was not great at night.

The places are dated and in need of the repairs by standard conventions but quite typical for Ocean Shores. I loved it had a full kitchen that was mostly stocked (wishlist a pan with a lid so I could make oatmeal), very close to the ocean with an easy path to access and lots of fun games including a pool table. Children there seemed to have a lot of fun so I would say especially good for families. Also, dog friendly. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I plan on returning next year because my dog and I had such a great time!

We came for the quiet, and that's mostly what we found. We enjoyed the short walk to the ocean and had two breaks in the weather to enjoy it. Spa area is nice. Sound travels from it quite a bit, though. Could hear the steady clatter of louder families enjoying the pool through the walls of our unit. Everything about the unit is functional and dated. Couches work, but they're old. There's nothing fancy about the dining room table. The silverware is a step up from plasticware. Also, you'll be handwashing the plates and cups you use, as there's no dishwasher. But the thermostat is wonderful. Loved how warm we could make the place after coming in from a walk. We didn't mind the layout of the unit--bed upstairs, living space below. But a drawback for many will be that the only bathroom is downstairs. If you need to pee at night, you'll be clutching the spiral staircase and finding your way there in the dark. Would be so much more convenient to have even a half bath upstairs. Appreciated the use of canoes and the game room.

The location was good. It was quiet, away from highway and town noise/activity. Maybe a 5 minute drive to Ocean Shores. Fairly close beach access, but no beach view. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Room was clean, somewhat outdated, but fit the needs for our 2 night stay. Bedroom (only 1) is upstairs. Pictures led us to believe there was a 2nd bedroom. It is just a narrow, open loft area with a twin bunkbed, no door. The mattresses on the bunk were pretty creaky and not super comfortable. Only bathroom is downstairs so night time bathroom needs are next to impossible. Spiral staircase is only access to upstairs. It's very narrow, aggregate steps. I did not feel safe on it, especially at night, in the dark, half asleep, and in bare feet. Would not recommend for small children or anyone with mobility issues. Sofa bed was just so-so, comfort wise. Not much counter space in the kitchen area, but dining table could be used for meal prep. Regular coffee maker vs keurig, fyi. Full size fridge, oven, 900W microwave. Great common area, pool table, Foose ball, tons of dvds games and puzzles. Pool/spa area was clean, lots of towels, heated outdoor pool, kids pool, hottub, and sauna.

As a retired couple enjoying a few days at the beach, we probably aren’t the target market for this property. I would think a family reunion situation or a kid-centric vacation would be best suited for a longer stay at this aging resort. After we made peace with the fact that we’d have to brave a very steep spiral staircase to get to the bedroom (and the only bathroom was downstairs), we decided to make the best of it and try to enjoy the wet area. We got to the pool to find a big group of people with very noisy children taking up the hot tub. We gave them about 20 minutes and checked again to see if we could get in, and they were still there so we said forget it and went back to the room. It’s also a fairly long walk to the beach, and since it was raining we didn’t even venture out. Just slept and left before taking a shower the next morning because we just couldn’t stomach the old shower and bathroom situation. All in all, the staff seemed friendly and accessible, but as I said… we aren’t the target market.
As a retired couple enjoying a few days at the beach, we probably aren’t the target market for this property. I would think a family reunion situation or a kid-centric vacation would be best suited for a longer stay at this aging resort. Surfcrest Resort is an amazing location with a super friendly and hard working staff. Was welcomed when checking in, which set the right tone for the stay. The grounds are well maintained and the townhomes are comfortable. To be clear, this is not a luxurious five star resort, but I did not expect it to be. It was well worth what we paid to stay for the location and the things to do on site (games, walk to the beach, boating, etc.).

Great place and great location. Staff was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. Upon arrival I was greeted by a smiley front desk person that seemed to enjoy her job. Very outgoing. She even showed me around the place. Very short introduction to the place was very nice. Bring it was our first time there. Much appreciated. during our departure the gentleman at the desk was also very smiley and super friendly. Great staff members. All very sincere in their interactions. Rooms were very clean. Just an overall great experience and stay.

Staff were very nice but the pool and hotub were broken. No mention of broken pool on website or when i booked. They only notified me when i checked in after arriving. Bathroom is very small. I could not sit normally on toilet sithout my knees hitting the wall and i am onky 5ft 8in tall. Also they offer no food minus snacks and there is no delivery service. So unless you bring your own food you have to drive 10mins or so into Ocean Shores. The pictures on website are glorified and make it look much nicer than it is. They did however refund us for one nights stsy when we left early and did not stay the last night we had booked. Staff were very nice.

It’s our second stay on this property and service is still superior. Great customer service exists here. Lots of amenities catered for the whole family so plan your trip ahead. Will definitely include this on our yearly weekend vacation. Watch out Surfcrest, we will keep coming back :)

This was one of the best places we stayed during our trip. The staff were so kind and helpful; the resort had so many activities; it was quiet and private. I would highly recommend Surfcrest Resort to family with children of all ages.

The price of this hotel was overall what made us book, there’s 4 beds total so it made some lovely room for our family. There was a mishap with the housekeeping staff and when we checked in and arrived to our room it wasn’t ready, but they quickly gave us another room to accommodate us. Overall, a good stay and we would return!

Surfcrest is located just north of Pcean Shores. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and equipped. Gas fireplace keeps the room warm. The beach is a short walk on a well marked trail. We stayed off season but saw kayaks and canoes available. The grounds atr well kept with fire pit and playground for kids. Will stay again for sure.

Great property is conveniently located near the beach and short drive to ocean shores. Condo amenities, great outdoor pool even in December. The trail to the beach could use some attention in winter, but it is probably better during the summer months.

The only 4 star is for the condition of the property. I mean i would give it a 4.9. Only think about that is the hot tub. Probably needs to be resurfaced. It's a little green. Other thank that this place is PERFECT. Perfect for families or couples. AND PETS!!! Easy short walk to the beach. Heated pool, they start a fire pit for you. Short drive to downtown ocean shores. Definitely our NEW favorite place to stay.

The resort is nice and we loved the pool and games room. The down side is that it is a 15 minute drive to town where shops, food and restaurants area and a 10 minute walk to the beach. A great place for a weekend away though!

Surfcrest Resort is in a beautiful place, each of the units looking out towards the dunes - walk a few hundred yards through the sea grass-covered dunes, and you reach a spectacular beach that goes for miles in either direction. Our first morning, we got up and walked the beach at sunrise, then after breakfast enjoyed the pool/hot tub. The units were great for the two of us. We also took one of the canoes to the lovely stream that runs behind Surfcrest, paddling for about 20 minutes in each direction without seeing a soul, just birds, wetlands, even some salamanders. We'll be back!

Perfect for a week's stay with family and children where you bring your own groceries...tons of fun things to do on site, including a big secluded beach. But, you're not walking distance to anything and even driving you're miles from other businesses -- don't expect boardwalks and restaurants. Warning for those with mobility issues...my bedroom was upstairs, up a narrow, cobblestone circular stair...and the bathroom was downstairs...bad for me, a non-starter for many in my family. I bet you can ask in advance about that -- the staff was terrific.

The woman who checked us in was super sweet and helpful with information regarding the property. The property was a bunch of townhomes with good access to the beach and some amenities on property - we were only there for one night so none of which were used, but nice that there was the option to (i.e. pool, kayaks, fire pit, etc). The townhomes were a bit dated, but had everything we needed for a short stay. A couple of things to note, the bedrooms are on the second floor which requires a climb up a spiral staircase. I always love the idea of a cool, spiral staircase to a loft area and really didn’t mind so much, however if you have difficulties with mobility or feel a bit uncomfortable with these, I would steer clear. They were also made of a kind of uncomfortable to walk on barefoot stone, so I often needed to put shoes on to walk up and down. The property is located in a sleepy little beach town, so don’t expect a ton to be open late either. With that being said, all in all, our stay was pleasant, the price was right, the bed was comfortable, and we got what we needed out of it.

Staff there is super nice. It is a few minutes walking away from the beach and digging the razor clams there is fun. The resort even provides tools for that. It does have a full kitchen but the cooking ware is not complete. No salt, oil, or other ingredients are provided.

This was our first time here and we will be back for sure. Love havin the full kitchen available. Would be neat if y’all had little necessities in kitchen as in some salt and pepper and some cooking oil! I came with my 2 little kids my fiancé and my mother. We planned meals and even know I brought all this stuff from home and tried making sure I had everyrhing I needed I still forgot little things like oil. Had to drive up the road to the store and buy a 7$ bottle of veggie oil that I will probably never use again. Other than that the only other thing would be a ice machine!! Thanks for having us and thanks for showing such great hospitality.

This is a nice place to stay. Nice pool/hot tub. Kayaks, canoes and row boat, life jackets provided. Fresh coffee, tea or cold water in lobby. Short walk to the beach. Barbecue area is a nice addition. Playground for kids. Evening fire in the area of horseshoe pits. Seems they have thought if everything. Short drive into Ocean Shores.

Will definitely come back. Awesome place with a 5 or less minutes walk to the beach. Overall experience was outstanding. I wish there is an on-site restaurant but no big deal because we saved money by buying food to cook. 😀

We loved our stay and will be back next summer. Great place! Family friendly and close to grocery stores, shopping, and fantastic taco trucks. Very easy check in process. Beautiful views, and awesome swimming areas with rafts. We enjoyed paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming. Incredible sunsets! BBQ grills available for use. Very clean and well kept property!

I can not rave more about this resort. The staff is so friendly the rooms are great. You feel like you are home it is so relaxed. Just book here do not even think about it. Lovely walk to the beach. I love the fire pit.

The hotel is in a great location and has all the basic amenities you would need for a quick weekend getaway. The front desk staff were also very nice and friendly, which I appreciated. That said, there were several issues during our stay. First, the Wi-Fi was extremely spotty,so much so that it was practically nonexistent. It barely worked unless you were near the office or had a room close to it. If Wi-Fi is advertised as an amenity, it should be reliable and accessible throughout the property. The shower was another major issue. The shower arm was very loose or not functioning properly, causing water to spray toward the ceiling and all over the bathroom. By the time we finished showering, it felt like it had literally rained inside the room, with water covering the floor and leaving everything wet. We reported the issue that morning, but no one came to fix it. We reported it again that night, and it took a long time for maintenance to arrive. I understand it was already late and the maintenance person may have been off for the day, so there may have been a communication issue between the front desk and maintenance. There was also a hole in my bed sheet, which was disappointing. Overall, the staff at the front desk were kind, and the hotel could be a good option for a quick weekend trip. We loved our family getaway at Surfcrest! Our group included 3 kids (ages 3, 5, and 17), 2 parents and a grandmom, and a 95 lb dog. We all fit comfortably in one of the units that had bunk beds, a queen bed (in a separate room), and a pull out couch. We loved searching for sand dollars at low tide (and finding many!), all the activities like soccer, horseshoes, etc., the cozy campfire, and the game room. We went to the pool at night around 8pm and it was a very comfortable temperature. There is also a sauna and a hot tub. We could have stayed a whole week! Next time we will need to stay longer and try out the kayaks in the lagoon. It is also close enough to Ocean Shores for the amenities and that is where we got dinner. This was such a wholesome place and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We loved our family getaway at Surfcrest! Our group included 3 kids (ages 3, 5, and 17), 2 parents and a grandmom, and a 95 lb dog. We all fit comfortably in one of the units that had bunk beds, a queen bed (in a separate room), and a pull out couch. We loved searching for sand dollars at low tide (and finding many!), all the activities like soccer, horseshoes, etc., the cozy campfire, and the game room. We went to the pool at night around 8pm and it was a very comfortable temperature. There is also a sauna and a hot tub. We could have stayed a whole week! Next time we will need to stay longer and try out the kayaks in the lagoon. It is also close enough to Ocean Shores for the amenities and that is where we got dinner. This was such a wholesome place and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
