My stay at Motel 6 Winchester was good but lack of a few amenities made it a bit below excellent. Hotel was clean but rooms are stark. No decor or pictures of any kind so walls were just empty and not warm and homey. No toiletries except a bar of soap and no hairdryer in the room. There was a decent microwave which worked fine; refrigerator freezer way crusted with ice and no too useable. Lighting was not strong. My room had no overhead light, just lights next to the bed which were subdued lighting and not strong for reading. No real light by the table under the TV so I couldn't do some of the paperwork I was planning to do. Best lighting was over the sink area. Room was clean and the staff was very nice. Location also good .... set back a bit from the road so no issues with highway noise, etc. Price was okay but seemed a bit high as you got nothing except the bed and a TV. Would consider going again but a few inexpensive touches to the room would make it more inviting.

This hotel is horrible, and should be avoided at all costs. I booked a non-smoking room with two queen beds. As I pulled up, the office was blocked off by cars - with groups of people loitering around drinking and smoking. The teenaged receptionist falsely claimed I had not booked a non-smoking room - and that only smokers rooms were available. When I showed them that was demonstrably false, they were still unwilling or unable to find me another room. As far as I could tell, they were the only employee present. Apparently, they converted numerous rooms to smoking rooms because they have such a high population of locals who reside there permanently. The room reeked of smoke. The beds had literally dozens of cigarette burn holes in the sheets. The shower head was permanently bent towards the wall, and there was no shampoo provided. There was a single broken bar of soap beside the sink, but no shampoo. There were people chatting it up on the balconies for most of the night. In summary, the hotel was filthy and the service was non-existence.

Good economical stay. Room was in good condition and comfortable. Appeared clean, but there were some roaches. Room was never cleaned while I stayed for 3 nights and only 2 sets of towels were provided. Felt safe and was pretty quiet. All 3 desk people I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Bring your own toiletries. All that was provided were 2 very small bars of soap. Not much in the area right around the motel, but everything available with a 5 to 10 minute drive. Very pet friendly with no extra charge for a pet. I had a dog have a medical issue the day I was leaving and had to bring her with me, so this was a great feature. Floors were laminate with no carpet, which was great for having a pet, as well. I would stay again.
