They are currently remodeling. My room the main room was clean. The bathroom was clean but the room above ours had a water leak of some kind. Possibly the toilet. Another tenant was a pot smoker and the hall was filled with the smell of POT. The front lobby smelled of it too. There were about 12 mattress stacked at the back of the building outside. With the rains in the area that will begin to stink soon. Im sure it will be nice in a another year.

The owners were so kind and accommodating. We stayed after a local sheep show. They had a safe place to park our trailer and offered water for our livestock. Would recommend this place for anyone needing a simple place to stay.

I always rate hotels by the price we pay for a one night stay. I don't expect a $500 room for $50. That said, this room was worth considerably more than we paid for it. Large, three beds, A/C blew cold, large TV and fast internet. Down sides, the grounds of the hotel are on the trashy side and the included breakfast really isnt worth waking up early for. That said, we'd definitely stay here again.

Guy told me he is the new manager and was very nice and friendly. The outside of the hotel looks like a dump. The inside is considerably better. The floors are of engineered wood, which is good because it is probably cleaner that carpet. However, I could hear movement and such from the floor above me and beside me, and I am sure at least in part, this is because they replaced the carpet with this engineered flooring. The room was small. There is no closet or suitcase jack. There was a rack on the wall over a chair where you can hang clothes. That rack is old, looks like it is about to fall off the wall, has like corrosion on it, and is hard to get clothes on and off of it. Very small and low toilet. At least they make an effort to serve breakfast, but it is very poor. Coffee is not good. There is a McDonalds literally in the parking lot, so if you wish to spend a few dollars, you can get a decent breakfast there. They appear to have new air conditioner / heat units, but I found it to be slightly loud, and it cycled a lot. Really, not a bad stay for the money, but it would make it better if they made the outside look less like a dump.

We stayed here overnight on our way home from spending a week in a luxury resort at a national car convention in the Wisconsin Dells. Budgetels pillows were better, their bed was better, their shower was better, and the room was cleaner on checkin. If you are looking for a nice but less expensive hotel in Ft Scott, definitely consider this Budgetel!

We will try to stay here again the next time we travel. This is an old motel that very caring and hard working owners have turned into a comfortable, solid option. The beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were plentiful and fluffy. I slept better than I have at most places. The room needed some repairs, but it was absolutely spotless and well supplied. As I sat in the very simple lobby with my morning coffee (breakfast is simple, but varied), other guests said very complimentary things to the owners. I clearly wasn’t the only one who noticed the quality of the service. Please note that the place is old. It needs renovation. But I was happy to patronize these hard working owners. I wish them the very best in their endeavor.

Great place to stay for a few days while our house was being worked on! Excellent staff and cleanliness!!!! It's a bit in the older side, but well maintained. Overall i give it 8.5/10!! Will definitely stay again!!

Wonderful staff very friendly. Shower and toilet are really low but manageable. Clean rooms and bathrooms , comfortable beds and nice and quiet . If I’m ever passing through again I will definitely stop off here .

The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The check-in process was quick and easy. The room was clean and comfortable. There were several dining options close by and the location was convenient and close to the activities we were there to participate in. Overall a very good experience.

The bed and pillows were very, very comfortable. The room and lobby/dining area was also clean. The location was excellent and the value for the price was also excellent. It’s an older hotel but it’s clean and very comfortable. I would stay there again.

Staff was very accommodating...my first room had an issue with the door beeping when you shut it. They upgraded me to a King suite...door looked like it had been kicked open and fixed. AC unit had a bucket under the corner due to leaking. I went to breakfast at 7:30am and there was oranges left, a couple of bagels and jelly. Beyond that- the bed was super comfortable.

Seems this hotel is older but for $58 it was as nice as hotels l've stayed in for twice as much. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the normal fare ( not much ,waffles, fruit, cereals and muffins), but l was ok with that. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I am perfectly happy with my stay and would stay here again.

Counter help could not speak English. Made check difficult. Booked 2 queen beds for 4, only had 2 towels. This place was "Average" at best!

only problem was bright lights from Caseys store next door, had to place rolled up towel at bottom of window to help block out light. I stayed here before, quiet peaceful, no problems. friendly staff.

I checked in a little late, and the person who served me at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The breakfast was meh, but I'm fussy about my food. If you don't like waffles, McDonald's is next door. It was a good place to stay for the price.

A hotel where they are putting money in to keep it up. Service was fantastic and the breakfast was plentiful with a great variety to choose from. Next to McDonalds, Taco Bell and other fast food chains. Close to Walmart if you forgot something on you trip. Just don't rely on you GPS if you want Pizza Hut. I drove 20 miles and the building was vacant/for lease! A nearby Convenient Mart had Simple Simon individual pizzas and the one I had was very good. They also hve a Dominos in town. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again if I pass this way on my way back home. They are hard working, polite people that want your stay to be perfect.

I checked in a little late, and the person who served me at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The breakfast was meh, but I'm fussy about my food. If you don't like waffles, McDonald's is next door. It was a good place to stay for the price.

I booked online. Before going in I drove around to check it out. When I went in the gentleman mentioned that he noticed I drove around. This gave me a sense of security. The room was clean. NO BED BUGS! Linen and towels were clean. Waffles, bagel, cereal, fruit, toast, muffins, juice, and milk for breakfast. Fantastic price! Honestly, one of my best hotel stays. I highly recommend this location! Thank you! 😊

Seems this hotel is older but for $58 it was as nice as hotels l've stayed in for twice as much. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the normal fare ( not much ,waffles, fruit, cereals and muffins), but l was ok with that. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I am perfectly happy with my stay and would stay here again.

A hotel where they are putting money in to keep it up. Service was fantastic and the breakfast was plentiful with a great variety to choose from. Next to McDonalds, Taco Bell and other fast food chains. Close to Walmart if you forgot something on you trip. Just don't rely on you GPS if you want Pizza Hut. I drove 20 miles and the building was vacant/for lease! A nearby Convenient Mart had Simple Simon individual pizzas and the one I had was very good. They also hve a Dominos in town. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again if I pass this way on my way back home. They are hard working, polite people that want your stay to be perfect.

Low price AND great breakfast? Per reviews, so I thought. Price was low, but the breakfast didn't make up for the jump from I-49. The only things hot were coffee a nd DIY waffles. Eggs aren't $6 per dozen anymore.

I always rate hotels by the price we pay for a one night stay. I don't expect a $500 room for $50. That said, this room was worth considerably more than we paid for it. Large, three beds, A/C blew cold, large TV and fast internet. Down sides, the grounds of the hotel are on the trashy side and the included breakfast really isnt worth waking up early for. That said, we'd definitely stay here again.

The front desk was nice and it was very affordable but breakfast was meh, it smelled like incense, the ice machine was broken and the ice we got from the front desk tasted like curry. It would have been better if they just directed us to the Caseys next door for ice. Beds were not very comfy and one of the frames "popped" every time you got up or rolled over. So no one got much sleep. Our room did have 3 beds which was nice with the kids but we ended up moving to a different hotel for the second night so everyone could get some sleep.
