Adventure Hotel

We loved the staff. So very friendly. The room was small, but had a lot of charm. There were only 10 parking spots, so we were afraid to take our vehicle out of the parking spot just in case we would not have parking. They did not have an elevator which made it difficult, as we were constantly up and down throughout the day.

Great location. Walking to shopping, restaurants and the water. Parking is limited. Rooms are nice and clean but could use a mini fridge. Hotek restaurant, cafe and bar were all good. The bar had truvia nights on thursday. That was fun.

Great to have a quality restaurant and a bar on premises. The communal kitchen is fun also.

Absolutely fantastic property. Lots of great features like the attached coffee shop, restaurant, and pub, along with the sauna on the roof. Really enjoyed this spot and fully intend on staying again next time I’m in Nelson!

Unique property. I used the rooftop patio and common area coffee, tea, microwave and ice. Great features. Budget rooms too without bath/shower in room for better savings.

Ideally located in the heart of Nelson. Friendly staff, quiet and clean room. Deck was a nice touch (too bad the sauna wasn’t working though).

I was here for work, hotel is in a great location to walk to several restaurants. The hotel pub has good food and several TV to watch sports!! Rooms are clean and comfortable.

My husband and I stayed for one night in an economy Queen. It was clean and well planned out. Staff at the front desk were very friendly, kind and helpful they were really nice to speak with. The bar and restaurant attached were fantastic. We arrived late so had dinner in the bar. Pizza was incredible as were the little pork ribs bites. Overall the hotel was great and I would definitely stay there again but next time I would get a bigger room. It’s a beautiful heritage building right downtown walkable to everything.

Older property that has had some upgrades to the rooms. Positives: Room was clean, comfortable bed and nice new shower. No coffee, microwave or fridge in the room but these can be found in the guest lounge. Coffee was much better than most complimentary hotel brew. Patio area is a nice spot to relax, though it is set up for smokers so might not be for everyone if you’re not fond of the smell of cigarettes. Front desk and cleaning staff were quite friendly. Great location close to pretty much everything you want to see in downtown. Lots of nearby dining and shopping options. Not so positives: Parking at the hotel is very limited and the area around the hotel can be extremely busy, so be prepared for a walk to get to the hotel. Not sure if there is daily parking somewhere close by because all street parking is metered during the week. This is a noisy property. The bar below is open until 11 most nights and is especially loud on karaoke nights (Saturday) which go until midnight. If outside sound is an issue book through the hotel and make sure your room is away from the bar. Unfortunately there is no escaping the extremely squeaky floors. If you’re not alone, it’s impossible to not disturb the other person if you get up early or get in late. Lastly, the bathroom window is not frosted or tinted so if anyone in any of the nearby condos has a voyeuristic personally you’re somewhat exposed. Not a comfortable feeling. Highly recommend the hotel invest in some tinting film.

Good service but worst cleaners ever. That is why I gave them one star - i.e., cleaning my room.

Checked in late at about 2am. Stayed for about 10 minutes because we found a bed bug in the room. Asked the hotel for a refund through the hotels.com app and they refused

Double dog fee because a friend walked their dog in my room. Should have been $25 and was charged $50 because a friend's $og Walken in my room. Also, there was incredibly loud karaoke until midnight. There were silverfish all over the room I'm have a picture of 3 seperate silverfish but the app won't allow me to upload.

Hotel is well located and has a lively bar and nice restaurant. Receptionist was friendly, helpful and informative. Our main problem was due to minimal room service as bed was not made up during our 3 night stay and it appeared that only garbage was emptied daily. For $150 per night we expected more. Also noisy for rooms close to the communal kitchen and dining area, where people could be heard talking late at night.

The place is nice, there was a mouse in the room.

For the price, the hotel was awesome! Clean, good service, awesome restaurants at the bottom, super cool lounge area with a sauna! Only problem was the super hard bed, mattress could be replaced ! And pressure on shower and water a bit stronger! Great for 1-2 nights if you recover from back soreness quick!

Nice clean room, very friendly helpful staff and close to where we were spending our Halloween night. The only things I didn't like was the lighting in the bathroom, pretty dim. Other than that, great place.

Very cool old hotel, great location downtown, super friendly staff, would definitely recommend. Loved the little coffee & ice area on the second floor! Only two negative things to say..... the wall mounted fireplace in our room didn't work, and there was a crazy amount of cobwebs on the outside of the windows of our room and bathroom. Both those things were minor, and other then those it was great. Would definitely book there again!

The bathroom/shower floor was not the very clean. We definitely appreciated the staff. We were booked in a king room but there was a fan just outside our window. We changed rooms without hesitation from staff. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was fine, but a bit pricey for what you get. The deluxe room was still much smaller than a standard hotel room, and was missing basic features like a mini fridge or outlets near the bedside table. Plus, there is only very limited free parking, so we were stuck finding street parking and feeding the parking meter the whole time. However, it was a nice place to stay in a very convenient location, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Very tiny room

We knew both from booking online and when we checked in that it would be loud Friday and Saturday night due to being right above the pub - so that was ok. It helps that we don’t go to bed before midnight and the pub music is quite loud until then. However the hotel itself is old and limited sound proofing between rooms with a door that rattles horribly when someone closes their door nearby - so it’s a loud place to stay overall. What we weren’t prepared for was the bathroom door that’s frosted glass and doesn’t seal - so if sharing a room with someone you’re not comfortable with hearing you in the bathroom this could be problematic. Additionally, the room were were in had poor window blinds that didn’t fit the windows properly so when the sun came up the room was incredibly lit up. Finally, parking is horribly limited. 10 stalls for the entire hotel and then you’re parking on the street if you aren’t lucky. Street parking is free from 5pm to 9am however so it’s not too bad. Best thing about the hotel was the front desk staff and the location to Baker street. Very easy to access Baker street and wander around. It’s not a bad hotel by any means - lots of quirks however.

Location was good. Rooms were small, the “fireplace” didn’t give off heat, definitely just for ambience. Room was considered deluxe but seemed pretty standard. Not many cable channels but we were able to stream Netflix through our phone which was good to drown out the noise of the pub that was directly below.

Property was an overpriced old building with next to no parking. Nicely renovated but walls were paper thin. Had to call front desk at 3 am to ask them to tell my obnoxiously loud female nieghbor to shut up. Rooms are clean but small. Beds are rock hard. Are conditioner is mediocre at best. I'm tired of overpriced hotels that hide behind groups like expedia.

No parking really, sports bar noisy below and no idea why a glass door was choice for the bathroom. Hard to hide from other guests. Coffee shop was absolutely the highlight. Likely will try another option next time

Second time I stayed first time I thought the hard bed was just that room. Stayed second time different room still hard bed!! No thanks not again. I will not book a room there anymore.

Good 2 night stay. Don't accept room 101 as floors are incredibly squeeky!

The room was small but clean and recently upgraded. The only drawback was the flimsy sliding bathroom door.

I love that this hotel has 2 restaurants, a coffee house and a liquor store. We did specifically pick this hotel due to the sauna and were extremely disappointed that it was not working. There was a blood spot on one of our pillows and some mold in the corners of the shower/bath and the patio lights did not work. Our room was not cleaned or the bed made at any time during our stay. We had to ask for new soaps and towels directly. While we did enjoy our stay there were definitely some things we were not happy about.

Located in a nice area with dining and drinks available on site. The patio and common area was nice to grab a coffee and go sit outside. Shopping and more resteraunt within walking distance and hotel is locked at night so you dont have to worry about unsavories. Unfortunately the younger front desk girl apon arriving was extremely rude, our toilet was broken, we had to flush it by removing the back lid to pull the string, the air conditioning didnt work in our room and there we lots of silverfish bugs in the bathroom. We had a different mature front desk lady on the way out and she was great.

Ashley was at the front desk when I arrived. She gave me the room key early since the room was ready, and she offered excellent suggestions on places I might enjoy going for a walk. Ashley made me feel very welcome, and greeted me by name every time I walked by the front desk.

Staff are incredibly friendly and happy to share suggestions for activities, dining, and drinks. They really seemed to enjoy advising and seemed happy at work and so nice to one another and the customers.

Very friendly staff. Hotel is in the heart of downtown Nelson. Parking is limited and guests should know they have to take stairs to their rooms. There is a community fridge and coffee available in a common room. It's a pleasant hotel and I intend to stay there on my next visit.

From the moment I stepped into the Adventure Hotel, I was greeted with an unparalleled level of hospitality and warmth. The front desk staff set the tone for my stay, radiating friendliness and efficiency. Their ability to make guests feel welcomed and valued was immediately apparent.

It was clean and close to everything.

I love the central location of this Hotel. The roof top deck is great to bring out a Charcuterie board and bottle of wine. Great pricing.

We loved our room, location, and cost. We will definitely be back.

My first time in Nelson. So glad I chose this hotel. Excellent location, around the corner to a wonderful selection of shops, restaurants, cafes. Clean. Quiet. Super considerate staff. I hiked Pulpit Rock and to the flagpole the morning before I checked out, they were gracious about me checking out a bit late. Will definitely come again.

Top location. Rooms were a good size. Gorgeous view of the mountains.

The location is perfectly centred right in the town. The building is old and has character which I like, but best of all it’s very clean! The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s my second day there and I would certainly stay there again!

Beautiful and cozy hotel. Everything you need for a social experience is contained under one roof. We attended a memorial service in the banquet area, celebrated till late in the sports bar, then breakfast and coffee the next morning in the espresso bar. Matt and staff worked hard to ensure our unique booking was accurate.

Room and beds were great. Outdoor area was not ready for use, fire pit, tables etc. Breakfast was quite late at 9, so we missed it because we needed an early start.
