Glyfada Beach Hotel

Et dejligt lille hotel, hvor man føler sig hjemme. Bedste badestrand lige ud for døren. Dejligt sted til afslapning

Hotel and rooms were exceptionally clean, bed linen and towels changed daily. Staff were pleasant and very helpful, we arrived late and the kitchen was closed but the nightshift receptionist made us toasties which was most welcome. The breakfast was a buffet style self service and there was plenty to choose from. The beach was literally a stones throw from the hotel door and you could drift off to sleep listening to the sound of the crashing waves. You will need transport to get around, the nearest town is Pelekas which is about 5 kms away, as the location is quite remote which is ideal if you want tranquility as there is no through traffic or disco noise. Taxis can be expensive as they have to come from Corfu Town. The road down to the hotel is quite steep so bring trainers or boots if you're wanting to walk up to the main drag. A bus runs 3 times a day from Glyfada to Corfu town passing Aqualand on route. You can get buses from The Corfu Town Green bus terminal to the airport and other locations on the island, check the Green Buses Corfu website for details. Bring a mosquito repellent plug-in thing.

Breakfast a reasonable selection, view pleasant

The breakfast was wonderful. The staff was helpful. It really wasn't a lovely hotel

Ground floor rooms noisy without much of a view - avoid. You get noise from reception all night and breakfast clatter from early. Walls are thin so if you have people chatting late or watching tv in middle of night next door, you will hear this. Poor water supply, barely enough for shower. Poor wifi, cell is better. Hotel felt tired, nice location but disappointing facilities. Breakfast fine but can't sit outside because of wasps which means confined to small and cramped dining inside.
