Hampton Inn St. Louis/Westport

The staff at the front desk and breakfast staff were great.

This hotel is dated and the updates aren’t done well. Bathroom has cheap rubber baseboard.

Very dated. Lobby and elevator area is heavily fragranced which begs the question if a different odor is being masked. Arriving at floor 3 and entering the room that other odor was a pretty strong wet & musty smell. Room is quite small with very little bathroom counter space.

Great location to all things St. Louis. The area in front was also really good for hanging out with family

Our stay at this Hampton Inn was disappointing overall. When we arrived, we immediately realized this was a much more run-down property than the higher end Hampton Inns we were expecting. The staff, however, were incredibly friendly and professional. Check in was pleasant, and when we brought our concerns to the front desk, the receptionist was very kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, our first room was not acceptable. It was on the lower level and was extremely humid, with a dehumidifier running in the room. The air felt incredibly thick, and there was so much condensation on the floor that my anti slip tennis shoes were sliding. We also found spiders on the floor near the air conditioning unit, ripped fabric hanging from the bottom of the bed frame, and pink mold in the corners of the shower. We asked if we could be moved to another room, and thankfully the receptionist was able to move us to a room on a different level. The second room was an improvement, but it was still noticeably worn and dated. The cabinet door in front of the fridge was broken, there was hair in the shower, and it took over 5 minutes to get hot water in the shower as well. Overall, this was definitely a lower-end, older Hampton Inn and did not meet our expectations. We really appreciated the friendly and professional staff, especially the receptionist who helped resolve the situation, but the condition of the property and first room significantly impacted our stay.
