This hotel is in such a good location. We drove in and there is parking across the street. It’s not part of the hotel, so you will pay extra, but it’s very convenient. The front desk was excellent, welcoming. On our last night, we did have trouble with our shower, but it was addressed and remedied immediately by the front desk staff. We were really happy to stay there and will stay there again when we’re back in town.

Pros: The staff was very friendly. There was a small connected restaurant were we had a nice breakfast, however the menu was quite limited. Large bedroom with comfortable bed and very large living room. Cons: - Parking garage is not close and it is somewhat scary to walk back to the hotel at 1 AM when the streets are deserted. During normal hours the area seems quite safe. - Blinds, but no curtains on the large bedroom window. The room never got dark at night due to lights directly outside the bedroom window. - No outlets near nightstands. - Bathroom had an extremely noisy fan that automatically turned on with the light. I moved a lamp into the bathroom to avoid the sound. - One-person small sleep sofa was in a small room in back next to the kitchen. There were about 20 HVAC compressors in the alley outside the small room. You could hear the noise from the compressors. - It is mind boggling why they don't put blackout curtains on the windows and a queen size sleep sofa in the gigantic living room (where you would not hear the HVAC compressors). - At 6:30 AM the person who was sleeping on the small sleep sofa was awakened by extremely loud trashmen. I did not hear them in the main bedroom. - Hopefully an anomaly, but there was a large glob of hardened material like cardboard molded into the bedsheet. I can't believe the person who made the bed didn't see it. Another Pro: Kitchen seemed well equipped; however I didn't use it.

Unfortunately, staff could not get internet connection working in our room. And although it was advertised, there was no room service available. Hotel restaurant didn't open until 9:30am which didn't leave much time for breakfast before an 11am checkout.

Great Philly location. Very walkable, with excellent shops, craft bars, and many top rated restaurants close by. The AKA provides hotel rooms with very small bathrooms, and larger extended stay suites. The rooms are gray and modern. Nice fridge, sink, and Nespresso coffee maker. Nice gym and cinema room for use. Front desk service was excellent and the connected bar and restaurant were also very good. The only negative is that the windows need to be washed and the bathroom corners need a god scrubbing. Sparse but comfortable for our weekend stay.

The AKA Rittenhouse Square hotel is a centrally located, modern property with huge rooms and a great staff. The workout room is small but functional. The location is fantastic right off of Rittenhouse square. The shopping and dining in this area is fantastic. Note there isn't hotel parking but there are local parking lots that are easily accessed near the hotel.

Front desk staff were very friendly and courteous, but the hotel itself is definitely not 4 star. The kitchenette floor was sticky, the TV remote felt grimy, only one body towel in the bathroom, etc. The finer details are what separates the best hotels from the average. Not much attention is paid to details here. Plus I object to the policy of openly welcoming the general public to use the bathrooms. That said, I slept comfortably.

The hotel is in a great location and the staff are very helpful. For the price of this hotel, and considering that I booked an upgraded room, I expected a luxury-level hotel room. The cleanliness was subpar and on my first day there were issues with the toilet and shower not working - which was a big inconvenience since Engineering was not available to fix it at the moment.

Location cannot be beat. The staff is great. Rooms are outdated. Carpets are nasty (generally). Bathrooms are small and old with those old round toilets. The entire property smells like kitchen — clearly the restaurant has no proper ventilation. There was no power plug on bedside table to charge your phone — had to unplug the lamp reaching to a dusty area behind nightstand next ro the aforementioned disgusting carpet.

We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the bar/restaurant on 18th Street. This was the absolute noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. There were loud people on the street and we heard every truck and bus. We got very little sleep every night. They were unable to move us to a room on a higher floor.

The Staff at aka Rittenhouse is some of the most impressive I have ever seen at any property or any hotel. Kudos are absolutely deserved to the Team (and to the people who hired them). The issue is in the rooms, really. I came with a party that required two rooms. Each room was missing different obvious things and/or with maintenance issues. Room 1: The toilet ran after every flush unless you manually reached into the tank and replaced the flapper. Nobody was around for maintenance that weekend, so we just took off the lid and played with the flapper every flush. Also, the towel rod/rack in the bathroom fell off. The bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen. There was no safe. No luggage rack. No plastic, wrapped bathroom glasses (had to use the coffee mugs). Room 2: No refrigerator (pretty essential and standard these days). Very dark - there were 4 light switches which did nothing, and I am guessing they corresponded to unused outlets which could have used some UPLIGHT lamps/lighting. Instead of the kitchenette Room 1 had (with fridge and microwave and sink), Room 2 had a remarkable, enormous ~20 square foot shower "room." Lovely, but weird use of space. No plastic, wrapped bathroom glasses again (I used the included ceramic coffee mugs). I know there's likely nothing NOW which can be done, but the whole property only has 1 guest elevator for the 12 floors, which made wait times very hit-and-miss.

Room small, bathroom so small 2 people could NEVER fit. Tiny pedestal sink crammed between toilet and shower. No place to set anything. Very few plugs for charging- none on nightstand. Would not stay at this property again. This room was advertised as a suite?!!!

The first time I stayed here with a friend I loved it. We were upgraded to a two bedroom, so that helped. This time I only booked a studio and it was facing 18th on the second floor - super noisy outside and inside we could hear the staff opening and closing their door across from us early morning. Plus the TV wasn’t working well because the Internet was really slow. So I would not stay in 204 again.

Location was lovely, and the front desk staff were very helpful. The room, however, was very disappointing. The pictures are misleading - the room looks nothing like the photos. It is spartan. Bare bones. A low hanging chandelier that will hit you in the head if you are taller than 5'10. Three chairs at a four table top. No spare linens. A temperamental heating/cooling system that's very loud. The second bedroom doesn't have a closet. The dining table shows signs of wear with lots of scratches. The water pressure rotates between full stream and spurting. For the money - this was not worth it at all.

My husband and I had never stayed here before but it was in the right location for our overnight visit to the city. After booking, I called the hotel with some questions and the person i spoke with, Tina, could not have been nicer. She took the time to answer all my questions. Also, I requested a high floor and she said she'd do her best, and she did. We had a great room on the top floor and enjoyed sitting by the window at night and watching all the city lights. Additionally, from the moment we got there, the service was top notch. Josh and Juliette at the front desk were so helpful. They went of their way to make us feel welcome. We enjoyed chatting with them about our favorite city restaurants. We were celebrating our birthdays and when we got to our room, there was a birthday card and gift. How thoughtful. As for the room, the suite was spacious, clean and bright and had everything you need for a short stay. The rooms were comfortable too. The next day, we had more great service from Juliette. She went out of her way to help us once again. We can't say enough good things about the service we received from the friendly staff. We only chose the AKA due to it's proximity to Rittenhouse Square and the fact that our favorite Philly hotel had gotten so expensive, but we had such a lovely experience, we are are already planning our return trip. Thank you AKA for a wonderful weekend!

We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the bar/restaurant on 18th Street. This was the absolute noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. There were loud people on the street and we heard every truck and bus. We got very little sleep every night. They were unable to move us to a room on a higher floor.

AKA Rittenhouse Square is clean, well-maintained, extremely hospitable staff, and in a prime location for parks, restaurants, and an easy walk to many historical and famous sites in Philadelphia. Highly recommended. We loved the free welcome drink from the hotel bar/restaurant. My only request would be for vegan options on the food menu. Otherwise a perfect stay! We will definitely be back next time we are in Philadelphia.

I wanted a large enough room for my grown children to stay with me (we were visiting my niece, who lives nearby). We booked through Expedia and were given one of the Penthouse suites, which was shockingly large--a separate study, kitchen, giant dining area, giant living room, and giant bedroom and bathroom. Everything was very clean and modern, although I found the decor a little stark and bare. The biggest detractor was the noise--even though we were on the PH floor, we still heard a ton of motorcycle noise and what sounded like a marching band, quite late into the night. My niece, who used to live on Rittenhouse Square, says that the area has become very noisy and they had to move to a much quieter neighborhood as a result. Also, the shower--which had a very fancy touchscreen panel--had a leaky door, so we had to mop up puddles on the floor. Overall, I found the location and the spaciousness of the room to be a huge plus.

We stayed here over the July 4th weekend. It's located in a great area. You are in a great part of the city that is walkable and situatied close to aLOT of great eateries. The Room was nice and large, the bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice and large. The kitchen was the perfect size if you wanted to cook. the living room is a good size. The furniture in the living room needs to be refreshed as the fabrics needed to be cleaned. The couches were not comfortable, it was almost like sitting on a hard wooden bench with a very thin cushion. Although the furniture wasn't the greatest, don't let this stop you from staying at this Hotel. The other feature out weigh the small downsides.

Stayed here for two nights with my fiancé to attend a friend’s wedding. This hotel is in the best spot for shopping, a few nice dinners and some bars. The restaurant and bar connected to it has AMAZING food. Staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful, friendly and really made us feel safe and welcome. I would high recommend staying here, and next time we come back this will for sure be our home base.

Very conveniently located and clean property although room was a little basic but fully functional. Lighting in room is a bit dark and if there are bed side switches I failed to find them. A/C unit was too loud to sleep through and I shut it off. Fortunately I didn’t need it but it would be a problem in hotter weather. All in all a pleasant stay.

I was greeted by their very friendly front desk staff. We stayed in a king suite. The room was immaculate, the kitchen was immaculate. The restaurant downstairs is top-notch. Will be staying there every time we go to Rittenhouse. My only complaint is that across from the toilet there’s a clear glass shelf. That shelf is not placed well. My husband and I both hit our heads on it. I put my red shirt on the shelf so that it was more visible to us and we stopped hitting our heads lol but other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel. We travel frequently and for this to be the only thing that I can say about a hotel is rare.
