Motel 6-Salinas, CA - North Monterey Area

Ice Machine has been broken then last 2-3 times I've stayed! Other then that everything is good NO problems!

Great staff overall. Maid service is thorough and property is well maintained. Ample parking and convenient location. Best value stay in the area.

The room was a standard two queens. There wasn't a hair dyer and soap/shampoo to use. Ice machine broken. Overall stay was okay considering it was just for 1 night.

No microwave in the room was a big downside.

Easy access to freeway, ample parking, security guard

We like the room but the motel only provided small bar of soap, no shampoo. I asked at check in if there are breakfast in the morning and was told next door. In the morning, I came in and all there was is coffee.

Secure parking with security at night. Big lot for truckers with trailers. Our favor spot for the season. Rooms are big with comfortable beds with restaurants in the corner ti have a good lunch or dinner.

The outside pool is warm for a night swim

There wee none of the usual accommodations such as iron hair dryer coffee pot and coffee on the room lastly no microwave

Hello, I stayed at Motel 6 Salinas – North Monterey Area on Aug 30–31. The bathtub in my room was extremely dirty and unsanitary. Because of this, we were unable to take a shower at all during our stay. This was unacceptable and made the room unusable for its basic purpose. I am requesting a 100% refund for this stay, as the conditions did not meet minimum cleanliness or health standards. Please confirm when the refund will be issued.

Bugs behind the night stand, mold on the bathroom wall, homeless people laying around.... My car alarm was triggered during the night attempted entry

Room marginally clean. Beds a bit like a hammock---just worn out. Bathroom and room floor in poor condition. Wifi weak and sometimes not at all.

Boogers on the wall stains on my bed tv didn’t work and the mini fridge didn’t work as well should get a refund was a terrible experience

First off, I travel often and have stayed at alot of iffy hotels in iffy areas for much less than I paid for this room. $140 before fees and taxes to be exact. This hotel really takes the cake as far as a place that I would never stay at again. I was warned by my friends who live in Salinas that Kern Street was shady but I guess I didn't really pay that much mind until I saw the security officer patrolling the parking lot. I also had to fully document my car and my friend had to present her ID at check in along with my own (I suppose to ensure that we were the only two staying in the room?) According to them, there had been a prostitution bust on this site not too long before we came to stay. Shady, yes but I could still look past it for a comfy night sleep. I understand and appreciate the security measures even though their presence set off some alarm bells and I cant blame a hotel for who stays there. Im grateful they have measures to try to keep guests safe. There wereamenities in the room so dont expect them. No microwave, no fridge, not even a coffee pot. I have paid less than $140 for other hotel rooms in busier ty settings and have ATLEAST had a coffee pot available. Now down to the nitty gritty... The cleanliness of the room: Filthy doors. Semen on nightstand. Dried food under bed. No drain plug in bathtub. Black mold around doors and fire sprinkler. Dried blood/snot/fluid on walls. Massive wad of wet toilet paper stuck to ceiling, spitwad style.

Check in and check out was quick and easy. Bed blankets were very thin. Noise outside room from other hotel guests talking during night hours was loud and prevented sleep.

Old, noisy, thin walls

It was an okay stay for one night. It was noisy throughout the night, people around and the traffic. The floors left our feet black, the counter by the sink was dirty when wiping it off. A part of the ceiling by the front door had a brownish color to it like water was leaking.

I reserved a non smoking room. Walked into our room & there was an ashtray with a bad smell. I called to confirmed with office about my booking. Reception said they leave ashtrays for those who choose to smoke & not able to move us. The air-conditioning buttons were missing and didnt cool the room. There were what looked like shoe stains on the sheets. There is no seal to the bottom of the front door you can see all the light and hear all the noises outside. Tried to cancel my booking with office and was told since housekeeping had already left they would have to still charge me if I decided not to stay because we had already been in the room for 30 minutes.

Well it was quiet but the room was pretty much empty had a TV in a bed that's it. No microwaves no coffee maker only one outlet to plug my phone into no clock just two bars of soap and a couple of cups and a few towels. I paid $100 a night for that two nights and I had to climb outside stairs to get to my room upstairs the outside bright LED light was so bright that it bled through the Windows and I didn't even need to turn on the lights in the room it was plenty and the beds are shot need to be replaced

The room was clean while sparse. The amenities were minimal. This was expected as it's a low cost motel. The building itself is in rough shape. The drapes were dangling off, the window was old and beat up as was the door which didn't seal shut - light comes in around the door. The shower mostly worked but the handle for the water valve needed to be forced through some stuck points.

I'm surprised how fast the wifi is in the hotel

ALL ADULTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE ID- This is something that isn’t mentioned anywhere, and the manager was condescending about this request as if it was noted anywhere. Unfortunately my wife had left her wallet at home and we were 3 hours away from home. The manager seemed irate at the fact and said all adults needed a photo ID or we couldn’t check in. My wife didn’t have a picture of her ID, but did have a picture of her cosmetology license and the manager said no. Finally my wife found a picture of her passport and they seemed so inconvenienced. I reiterated that presenting ID’s wasn’t noted anywhere. I don’t like being made out to be a problematic customer when the rules/ requirements are not stated anywhere. People aren’t psychic. I gather (now) that it’s due to the area, there’s a lot of obvious sex work, but, again, not the customer’s problem or fault. After checking in, there was no hot water. When I called front desk, a different gal said the manager knew but was off for the night and that we were supposed to have been notified upon checking in that there wouldn’t be hot water that night nor the following day. This was even more upsetting since none of that was mentioned. Needless to say, we made due. The following morning while I checked out I asked the manager if she could compensate us for the inconvenience. There was a reluctance but she ultimately offered a $20 refund since “they’ve been having problems with the boiler.”

Staff was very accommodating A/C wasnt working and they replaced it. Needed an extra pillow and they brought it. Quiet place.

When we went to check in they couldn't find our reservation from my name. Then when they pulled up our confirmation number it has someone else's name on it. If it wasn't for my husband getting stern with them I'm not sure they would have honored my proof of our reservation. When we went back to get our key we overheard other people having the same issues we did. They really need to fix their system with this.

Everything was fine the only thing that I didn’t like was the first room the tv didn’t work but they helped me move room with a tv that works

I stayed at this location for two nights, on September 29th and 30th, as I was attending a Porsche event nearby. On the morning of October 1st, my mother approached the front reception office to request some water. Unfortunately, the front reception staff member's behavior towards my mom was quite unpleasant. Despite having water readily available for the public, she refused to provide any to my mom. She was so mean to my mom. I do not recommend this location at all.

There are many places to shop near by. The staff is very friendly. It is clean and comfy!

Front desk in the morning was pretty rude

I've come to this same motel in Salinas at least 5 times and it's overall pretty quiet. I always request a downstairs room and they have no problem accommodating me with that. It's a motel 6 so it's not lavishing but it's average and everyone is always nice. Check in and check out is fine and overall it's great for the price.

I do not see anywhere on summary of room reservation that NO refrigerator in room. No notice that it is a basic room. Must request refrigerator when making reservation. NEVER before have I had to request room with refrigerator. TERRIBLE location...lowest of barrios, unsafe. Guard standing at office at night.

It’s right next to four of favorite restaurants

The area about a block away was unsafe. The traffic along those streets was also very congested.

bad area, too many homeless around, ok hotel, a little dirty , shower head spraying everywhere, random fireworks in the middle of the night. pricey for conditions, but not bad, not too many choices

Terrible location....lowest of barrios. No refrigerator. I didn't know I needed to reserve a refrigerator. Didn't know there are "basic" rooms. I request queen room for 2 nights on ground floor....WHO knew I needed to specifically ask for room with refrigerator....since when? Room clean, grounds clean, staff nice. Worst location I've ever been in.

Room needed a refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave oven. (But the office did provide good coffee in the morning.)

Clean, safe and options to eat right across the street. Jesus checked me in and he was great!

early check in, front desk was prompt helpful. The place was quiet, yet conveniently located and close to highway 101, also close to and walkable to a few restaurants. The only thing i did not appreciate was the bathtub - it looked old, and looked rusty.

Our stay was good. NO bed bugs NO roaches. The area was safe, there wasn’t any sketchy things going on on the property from what we were able to tell. We stayed two nights. My only complaint really is that the floors needed to be cleaned. No complimentary breakfast or shampoo/conditioner so be prepared for that. It was much nicer than the motel 6 I stayed at the night before in a different town! I would stay again.
