Hotel O Daylight Inn Elkhart I-90, IN

My initial greeting was a lady approaching my car to panhandle. I got out of the car, and I saw a defunct fitness room through a picture window. All equipment was covered in dust, and there was broken glass everywhere. This place was once condemned--I believe it still is. Needless to say, I lost my money because there was no way in hell I was going to have my family there. Totally unsafe and filthy. The owners should be sued for EVER taking anyone's money, and their listing should be permanently removed from all booking sites.

The property is filthy. There are homeless people and low income people living there week to week. The rooms stink and are dirty. Customer service was rude and short

The parking lot was not cleared of snow I almost fell and got stuck the lights flickered and the room did not smell pleasant

Entire place in disrepair. Extra charges at motel. "Security deposit" unreturned. Roaches. OMG the roaches. Now I have to spend even more money to make sure roaches don\'t travel with me. And the beds smelled like urine. On top of that had random people banging on door at all hours. Left before booked stay was over and checked out with clerk but obviously not getting any refund or deposit back. Heat/ac didn\'t work properly, plug had to be jiggled and half out of socket.

This motel should not be in business, I don’t know how they pass the inspection

The worst room I've ever stayed in. The bathtub had mold in there, the room was filled with roaches, the AC filter was disgusting, the bathroom had a half of toilet paper in there and its a problem trying to ask for more. The laundry room is not working, and it hasn't been for a while. The room was extremely dirty, it was 2 onions left in the refrigerator, a piece of bacon underneath the bed so the roaches had themselves a good snack. I left the room as soon as I can. I was there during check-in time and I haven't seen not one house keeper. Front desk don't gaf and they won't switch your room or help you with anything. No need to respond to this review management team, because this place been a dump for years. You guy's are not showing any effort in making this place better at all. Pay a little extra and go next door to the Red Roof Inn. Its worth it, trust me

DO NOT BOOK HERE. The place is basically transient housing. It is run down and dirty. Lots of people hanging out in the parking lots. Lots of trash and dirt around. Room floor was not sweep! Saw two roaches! The only toiletry was a SMALL bar of soap. There was only a small partial roll of toilet paper. A room light was not working. The vanity did not have a mirror, and its faucet leaked on to the counter. No trash can in the room. As I was leaving two police cars were there. It appeared they were arresting someone. Hotels.com should be ashamed it lists this place!

Dirty complex, room floor filthy, tub, toile and AC need replaced… they did send someone to fix my TV. Did the best they could with a shambles of a complex

This property needs shut down asap. We found evidence of bed bugs, a cockaroach infestation. The room pictures are not the rooms at all. The bathroom was dirty with bugs/trash on the floor. There were roach droppings. There were actual cockaroaches. The room reeked of pine sol and the floors were filthy and sticky. Do not stay here. Not to mention the door barely latching, there is security chain, you can see daylight through the door cracks, the fridge is ancient and so loud it will keep you up. The bed was wafer thin and dirty and stained. We unfortunately could not stay here and had to drive home in the middle of the night it was so bad.

The room was filthy. The bathroom door was busted. There were stains in the tub and mold in the corners. The room was crawling with roaches.

The gentleman at the desk was polite. The room was disgusting ! I got what appears to be bed bug bites on one side of my arm. Not to mention roaches. Absolutely disgusting this place should be closed down.

Dirty sheets, mold in the shower, no towels or toiletries, saw/killed 3 roaches, broken lamp. It was terrible.

The room had cockroaches all over the room, even on the headboard of the bed, in the sink and in the bathroom.

We found mold in the fridge, bathroom and in the cupboard. It was infested with cockroaches and the curtains on the window were just hanging without support. We requested another room and were told non were available. We asked for a refund and were told no refund. They took another $50/- refundable deposit, which I have not received. The description of the property ( pictures etc) are not of this property. Do not stay here. The health department should be informed about this. We did take pictures and videos of the room including the cockroaches. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Ooof. This was NOT a good stay. I can say this was probably the worst place I have ever stayed in my many years of budget travel. And this is my first negative review I’ve ever given. The check in gentleman was polite- he explained the surprise $50 cash room deposit - but my positives end there. COLD- Our 2nd floor room was run down, and there was no heat in the below-freezing winter night. Very thin bed covers. We had to turn on the old AC/heat unit by the window, and wear sweaters to bed until it finally got hot by 4am, and we turned it down. Loud knocking sounds in the bathroom area may have been water heater? BUGS- Saw one dead roach UNDER the COVERS of one bed (!) and 2 more in the bathroom areas. SMELL - the room smelled of mothballs. The sheets had a combo of strong bleach and vaguely fecal smell (!) DIRTY - wiping up a water spill, my towel came back brown. So the floors are not cleaned, I guess. The sink & tub had stains that I wiped away. Bed covers were shockingly dirty. The whole place felt dirty, uncared for, old. We didn’t find the plastic water cups until we were ready to leave in the morning. All we saw were 2 soap packets, no bathmat. TV remote didn’t work, but we were able to use buttons on the side of the screen. With the condition of the room, I am shocked that they charged $125/room $50 cash deposit (which we had to wait for them to inspect the room before it was refunded). I blame the owners, who appear to be slumlords.

We ordered a king size, got 2 full size bed. Called and the person who answered was very rude and hung up on me, but when we arrived and check in, the person was completely kind. The room was presentable. They covered the couple issues on first got there. There was a lot of cockroaches.

The lock to the room door wasn’t working. Had to call the office for them to open it up. Very inconvenient. I’ll never stay there again. Go some somewhere else!

Room needed some patches. No outlets available unless unplug microwave. No coffeemaker for those that drink. Shower tiles needed thorough clean. $50 deposit not mentioned upon online booking

I appreciated the cleanliness of the room and linens. However, at check-in, we were required to pay a $100 cash security deposit, which we were assured would be given back to us when staff returned the next morning at 9 am. (This was a complete surprise, as it had not been stated in the information on the property.) When we attempted to retrieve it at 9, the staff person told us that the money was in the safe and only the owner had a key to the safe. They thought he would be in at 11 am, but weren't even sure about that. We had to wait until after 11 to get our cash back and were delayed more than 2 hours from the time we had wanted to leave. Even then, the owner didn't come directly to the office to help the customers who were waiting for him. I had to find him wandering on the second floor outside and beg him to come directly to the office so that we could leave. Also, the staff was not trained and didn't know how to deal with a reservation that had gone through Expedia, or how to get the money from Expedia. And finally, there were many broken things in the room, including a toilet that kept rocking, and was not firmly attached to the floor.

The room is good for the price

They allow you to make a booking after 11pm but won't check you in because their check end time ends at 11pm. They know they're doing this and continue their deceptive business practices. Time to call the FTC to be a whistle blower. Not good for them.

Staff wasnt there to check me in. I was forced to find anther hotel for me and my family including a 3 year old daughter at 1am, in another state, because i was late. Then refused to refund me my money and told me "it\'s not my problem. There\'s nothing i can do". Thank goodness i had extra money in the bank

Reserved a room. Had no idea that I wouldn't be able to check in after 8pm. Wouldn't refund my money even though I never even seen the room.

Awful hotel. Filthy and a $50 security deposit is required....but they will make an "arrangement" if you pat cash. The bottom of the tub had a stain...or blood...or something on the bottom. Never so uncomfortable in my life.

Absolutely never again. I reserved a room for 2 nights and arrived around 12:05 AM to be told that there are no available rooms. I was like i have reservations and had my numbers they were like sorry those rooms are c out of service . So there we were 4 hours from home and no place to sleep .

This motel is filthy. The smell is awful. Nobody in office at night. Lots of cars coming and going all night from 2 rooms. Beds were awfully lumpy and old. Sheets smelled like mold. Walls had food and ? all over them. I ended up sleeping in my vehicle.

Extremely dangerous location. Many loiterers that weren’t renters. Room was filthy, reeked of smoke, no toilet paper, a large amount of dead bugs. We didn’t stay the night due to how uncomfortable we were. We did not feel safe.

We didn’t even stay there and they would not refund. It was horrible and does not resemble the photos at all. The clerk was behind glass because it was so bad and dangerous

This place was filthy and dangerous. I prepaid thinking nothing as terrible like this could ever be on this app, but there was no way in hell we were staying. The floor was dirty with caked on dirt. There was a bad smell. The room adjacent was half ajar with wet towels hanging up. There was debris scattered everywhere on the property. I went back to the registration to tell the man, he said to call Hotels.com, upset that I was his “last room” and when they tried to call the property to get him to refund it, he vanished and did not answer the call. There was literally a shooting at the property later that early morning- I was there at 11:30pm and the shooting happened right before 1am. This was a bad bad place- everything had a bad feeling and the chain lock for the door was missing, the air conditioner vent was moldy and black- I would have taken pictures but this place was so creepy I had to run the hell out of there with my family

The place looks like a homeless shelter and a poker house - an absolute mess! I arrived at the property at 3am, I had already sent a message through Expedia that I will be arriving late only to come to find out there was no staff on site, the place looks nothing like its depicted in the pictures, there are open drug deals happening on the property, sketchy people, and there was not even a number to dial to get a hold of staff to assist with check-in… an absolute disaster, ending up sleeping in the car as no other hotels in the surrounding had availability!
