the so called deluxe room could never be describe as deluxe. the bathroom was dirty, the tv was the size of a postage stamp and could hardly see it from the bed, the furniture was in poor state and miss matched, plastic drinking glasses and two pathetic biscuits ,, the breakfast was poor rubber eggs , tinned mushrooms and uncooked tomatoes very very disappointing, the pool area was very tired and not somewhere you would want to spend any time bottom of doors rotted , flaking paint toilets unpleasant. all needs an upgrade !!!!!

The Northfield hotel has lovely large rooms, a nice view at breakfast and in good walking distance to the town and lovely gardens. Never seem to answer the phone as I've rung twice and they don't get back. Good carparking facilities and lovely gardens surround the hotel. Second time staying here and still the jacuzzi not working and I don't think steam room was either as we tried it out but no steam. Breakfast average.

This was our first stay at the Northfield Hotel and likely won't be our last. The building is fantastic, beautiful, spacious and has lovely character. The parking was easy in the Hotels car park and the garden was incredible to walk around & so well looked after. The hotel also boasts a fantastic pool, jacuzzi and gym. We loved the jacuzzi. With Minehead beach literally a 2 minute walk as well as the main High Street just a stones throw away it was so convienent and nice not to have to drive unnecessarily. Plenty of shops nearby, restaraunts, pubs and more to keep all entertained. The hotel staff were amazing; inviting, friendly, smartly dressed, polite and couldn't do enough for us and our small dog. That is another reason we chose the North Field Hotel as it is wonderful being able to include our dog on our holidays as he is as much a member of our family as children would be. There was plenty to keep him entertained with the large garden to explore and the beach has a year round dog friendly space for him to go running and digging on. He also loved his sausage breakfast supplied free of charge by the Hotal staff. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed here before so knew what to expect. Lovely big room with tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast fab, came on a hot plate which was a bonus, good choice too. We also used the pool again great experience. Very close to the front and plenty of parking on site.

The staff were absolutely excellent with warmth and helpfulness throughout. The building is old and so the hotel isn’t modern but it is charming. Food was excellent and the bar pleasant and comfortable. The leisure facilities were lovely. Overall a very relaxing and peaceful stay.

The hotel does have a couple of positives – the view from the property was lovely, and the road leading up to it was quite pretty. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The building is very old and feels extremely dated, with parts that seemed unsafe. My room had a strong smell of damp and clear signs of neglect, including flaking paint, damp patches in the corners, and black mould in the shower. On top of that, the swimming pool was in terrible condition and wasn’t properly maintained, which was very off-putting. Overall, the stay was uncomfortable, and I felt the condition of the facilities fell far below acceptable standards. I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements and renovations are made.

We paid extra for a seaview room and we were sorely disappointed. We could see the sea if we opened the window and hung out if it. It could also be seen if standing in the bath. The room was tired and dirty with stains on the carpet and headboard. The handles on the drawers were broken and a large scratch was in the bath. There was about 25/30 packets of sugar, tea and coffee that had fallen down the back of the unit thay had obviously been there a long time as very dusty. I took photos of all the stains and dirt etc should they be required. The worse thing was the loud humming noise which could be heard for the duration of our stay. On investigation it seemed to come from some sort of plant room next to our room. We had a terrible nights sleep and left very disappointed. We would not return or recommend to anyone. Avoid.

A very nice, clean, small room with a comfortable bed and choice of two chairs. There were some faint water stains on the ceiling but overall the decor was acceptable. The staff were uniformly lovely and helpful. A decent breakfast was on offer in the wood panelled dining room with views of the gorgeous gardens and the sea. A very pleasant stay.

Good location, friendly staff. Room 18 was shabby and uncared for, loose toilet seat, grab rail next to bath was loose and rusty, mould on tiles, no bathroom blind, exposed, raised screw on bathroom floor where door stop would have been. Bin broken, large wet patch on the carpet when we arrived and didn’t dry out. Cobwebs and dust everywhere throughout the whole building, stair carpet was filthy and not hoovered during the two days we stayed. This stay was not worth the money that we paid and we would not recommend or return.

This hotel is tired and needs a good facelift particularly in the bedrooms and en suite bathroom. Shower tray was very stained and tiles mouldy. The vanity light over the dressing table overheated melting the diffuser which was dangerous, had to turn off immediately. The food and staff however were very good.

Loved this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious with great views. My companion was not so lucky, insofaras their room was nearer a boiler or fan which could be heard until 11pm. Maybe a bit of sound proofing in the boiler cupboard would not go amiss, but otherwise this hotel was a very good find and I would not hesitate in booking there again.

Checked in online to save time, we were running late due to traffic, so arrived at 3.45pm. Room wasn't ready, and was told by the grumpy lady it would be 10 minutes. Was about 20 minutes later it was finally ready. Was supposed to be a 2pm check in! Room 8 was cramped, poorly equipped and the bathroom was dated and had silicone hanging from the wall. The whole place is very dated and needs a major renovation. On the plus side, the gardens are beautiful and it's only a short walk into town.

Beautiful hotel with rooms that have sea views. We stayed in a family suite which had a separate room for the kids. My toddler loved the bunk beds! Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Very big spacious bathrooms. Easy to park. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Spacious, light and airy room which was perfect for sorting our kit and last minute prep before beginning our coastal path hike the next day. The staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful.

A very warm, welcoming place. The staff go out of their way to help. Although parts of the building and furniture were tired don’t let this stop you from staying. We had sea views and a generous size room with comfortable bed. The restaurant and bar had a good range of menu choices and the food was tasty. The meal and wine was reasonably priced. A lovely garden space with lots of sitting areas. A garden gate which comes out near the sea, so a short walk along the prom to the Heritage railway. An added bonus was the on site parking. A really good find.

The Northfield hotel has lovely large rooms, a nice view at breakfast and in good walking distance to the town and lovely gardens. Never seem to answer the phone as I've rung twice and they don't get back. Good carparking facilities and lovely gardens surround the hotel. Second time staying here and still the jacuzzi not working and I don't think steam room was either as we tried it out but no steam. Breakfast average.

Hotel was pleasant nice surroundings comfy bed annoying back ground noise from boiler pump running constant goes of at11pm comes back on at 6am toilet wont flush once pump stops running at 11pm awake at 4.45am as curtains like tissue paper overall not a good stay for us did complain to hotel reception but not really bothered so wont be returning

Checked in online to save time, we were running late due to traffic, so arrived at 3.45pm. Room wasn't ready, and was told by the grumpy lady it would be 10 minutes. Was about 20 minutes later it was finally ready. Was supposed to be a 2pm check in! Room 8 was cramped, poorly equipped and the bathroom was dated and had silicone hanging from the wall. The whole place is very dated and needs a major renovation. On the plus side, the gardens are beautiful and it's only a short walk into town.

The staff were absolutely excellent with warmth and helpfulness throughout. The building is old and so the hotel isn’t modern but it is charming. Food was excellent and the bar pleasant and comfortable. The leisure facilities were lovely. Overall a very relaxing and peaceful stay.

Excellent location - only a short walk to the town centre and the beach. The hotel has lovely gardens which would be nice to relax in on a dry day! My room was quite old fashioned but clean and comfortable with a large shower. Breakfast was good.

This was our first stay at the Northfield Hotel and likely won't be our last. The building is fantastic, beautiful, spacious and has lovely character. The parking was easy in the Hotels car park and the garden was incredible to walk around & so well looked after. The hotel also boasts a fantastic pool, jacuzzi and gym. We loved the jacuzzi. With Minehead beach literally a 2 minute walk as well as the main High Street just a stones throw away it was so convienent and nice not to have to drive unnecessarily. Plenty of shops nearby, restaraunts, pubs and more to keep all entertained. The hotel staff were amazing; inviting, friendly, smartly dressed, polite and couldn't do enough for us and our small dog. That is another reason we chose the North Field Hotel as it is wonderful being able to include our dog on our holidays as he is as much a member of our family as children would be. There was plenty to keep him entertained with the large garden to explore and the beach has a year round dog friendly space for him to go running and digging on. He also loved his sausage breakfast supplied free of charge by the Hotal staff. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed here before so knew what to expect. Lovely big room with tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast fab, came on a hot plate which was a bonus, good choice too. We also used the pool again great experience. Very close to the front and plenty of parking on site.

Pros: location , easy few minutes walk to beach and the parade of high street shops. Nice cafes and eating places. Easy reach of Dunster village and Porlock, both beautiful. Dog friendly, lovely kind staff. Free onsite parking. Garden leads to both the beach and the main parade which is handy! Neg: hotel is a little dated and needs some TLC/diy. Would still recommend the location is super!

the so called deluxe room could never be describe as deluxe. the bathroom was dirty, the tv was the size of a postage stamp and could hardly see it from the bed, the furniture was in poor state and miss matched, plastic drinking glasses and two pathetic biscuits ,, the breakfast was poor rubber eggs , tinned mushrooms and uncooked tomatoes very very disappointing, the pool area was very tired and not somewhere you would want to spend any time bottom of doors rotted , flaking paint toilets unpleasant. all needs an upgrade !!!!!

I am unsure about the quality of my breakfast, as it was not served until 8 o'clock. I had to depart at 7:15. The staff was present and even managed to have their toast on the go, but it appears that an earlier breakfast was not an available option. Eben it was paied for in advanced again no information was avaliable

Beautiful building in need of some tlc, great location, great garden. Friendly staff. Our room wasn’t the best. Breakfast could have been warmer. Despite the negatives, we still enjoyed our stay and are returning.

The Hotel needs a refurbishment, no air-con in the room,the room was very hot at night,the fan only made a slight difference. Breakfast was ok ,but the service was very good ,even if there wasnt many staff.

Northfield was delightful! I wish every hotel was filled with such kind workers and friendly staff. The food was very good. This hotel even hired a musician to entertain its guests. This staff goes above and beyond to make sure their visitors have an enjoyable stay. The room was very large with a beautiful ocean view. The hotel was clean and tidy. I give this hotel 5 stars!
