Simply put, its one of the classic elegant properties in the heart of the old city, but peace and quite once you get into the hotel. Frequently the sounds of cannons maybe heard but added character. Rooms where lovely and we had a super view. Best food at Beef Bar as well ! Great bars and lovely pool !

The hotel location and amenities are just amazing! Their garden and pool area are unreal. We had the best time in Valletta. The hotels restaurant is also excellent with amazing service and outstanding views. Next time I’m in Malta I’m 100% coming back!

Wonderful hotel. Staff are charming and extremely helpful. The Spa facilities are excellent. The outside pool is cold in early March but a very invigorating way to start the day and what a fabulous view across the harbour. I will certainly be staying again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Amazing outdoor pool next to the fortress wall of Valletta!! Indoor spa & pool! Didn’t discover these until after visiting all the sights but be sure to experience from day one. Service was impeccable. Prosecco breakfast, try the local specialities, carved ham, pickled eggs, herbs with cheese, dates, carob, capers... Turn down service, cold drinks in waiting after hot days in your mini bar. Luxurious toiletries, Aqua line. Nits: hubby complained about too many and too large pillows ;). Pool bar could use glasses vs plastic. Our shower leaked. Some of furnishings throughout the hotel needs updating, Eg wicker, carpets, and the like.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel & property was grand, serene, spotless and very well maintained. The staff were all so professional and helpful. The location was awesome and so close to everything! We thoroughly enjoyed the relax time by the infinity pool with an incredible view of the marina. The staff at the pool were so friendly and attentive. Wonderful dinner and service at the award winning Beef Bar too. We would definitely recommend this wonderful hotel!!

Extremely well run hotel. Excellent staff, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is beautiful and extremely clean and comfortable. The room was very well serviced daily and everything had been thought out . Nothing was lacking . Beautiful grounds and pool area. Excellent location at the entrance to Valletta.

The Phoencia is a wonderful hotel. all the staff are courteous, efficient and friendly, and they all seem happy in their work. The rooms are spotless and the restaurant is excellent. A special mention to the restaurant breakfast staff who work very hard and were very busy on Sunday, but made the time to clear a prepare a table in the conservatory.

Lovely traditional hotel. Public spaces were definitely '5 star', comfortable, nicely decorated and spacious. Rooms were less so, more a solid '4 star' as neither plush nor overly comfortable. On arrival, there were blown lamp bulbs that should have been replaced before giving the room to guests and the USB sockets did not work either which was somewhat inconvenient. However, most room amenities were excellent (like the Acgua di Parma toiletries) and the daily complimentary soft drink mini bar was nice to have. House keeping was prompt and excellent (except last day when rooms were still unmade at 4.00pm) and evening turn down service was faultless. Beds were comfortable linens were top notch. Had a huge if slightly old fashioned bathroom but it was nice to have a large opening window. Breakfast was faultless and the service exemplary, nothing was too much trouble and carried out in a very friendly warm fashion, in fact every staff member we had contact with were excellent. It all felt genuine. Had dinner one evening in the restaurant and that was excellent too. There was a Christmas tree lighting ceremony during our stay which offered delicious canapes and pastries. Hotel location is excellent, at the gates to Valletta town. There are extensive nicely maintained gardens but the open air swimming pool was at the furthest end of the grounds and looked pretty rough and uninviting, might be better in the summer months. But definitely recommend - had a great stay.

A really beautiful hotel with the most impeccable service. The room was very nice and very clean. It was also lovely to have a turndown service in the evening , not so many hotels do this these days. The spa was really modern and the pool very nice. Breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed drinks in the bar every evening and often the piano would be played.. We were treated to a champagne reception with delicious canapés one evening during which the General Manager welcomed us to the hotel. We absolutely loved staying here it was a pleasure and treat in every way and incredibly good value too for the quality of hotel.

Great location and very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. The courtyard is great for tea and relaxing with a book. Loved the spa massages. Lovely garden and grounds. The only thing that detracted somehow was that the rooms were relatively small, and the furniture looked a bit tired. We had to upgrade ours. All in all a great hotel

Første indtryk på The Phoenician var dørmanden Mr Hurn, som tog imod os som var vi vigtige gæster i hans hjem. Receptionisten mødte os ligeledes med smil og gæstfrihed. Værelset var behageligt, rumligt og rent. Hotellet ligger lige udenfor bymuren til Valletta og trods trafik og mange mennesker var der roligt og stille på vores værelse. Alle var venlige og smilende, så det føltes dejligt at være der.

Værelset var behageligt, rumligt og rent. Hotellet ligger lige udenfor bymuren til Valletta og trods trafik og mange mennesker var der roligt og stille på vores værelse. Alle var venlige og smilende, så det føltes dejligt at være der.

Lovely traditional hotel. Public spaces were definitely '5 star', comfortable, nicely decorated and spacious. Rooms were less so, more a solid '4 star' as neither plush nor overly comfortable. On arrival, there were blown lamp bulbs that should have been replaced before giving the room to guests and the USB sockets did not work either which was somewhat inconvenient. However, most room amenities were excellent (like the Acgua di Parma toiletries) and the daily complimentary soft drink mini bar was nice to have. House keeping was prompt and excellent (except last day when rooms were still unmade at 4.00pm) and evening turn down service was faultless. Beds were comfortable linens were top notch. Had a huge if slightly old fashioned bathroom but it was nice to have a large opening window. Breakfast was faultless and the service exemplary, nothing was too much trouble and carried out in a very friendly warm fashion, in fact every staff member we had contact with were excellent. It all felt genuine. Had dinner one evening in the restaurant and that was excellent too. There was a Christmas tree lighting ceremony during our stay which offered delicious canapes and pastries. Hotel location is excellent, at the gates to Valletta town. There are extensive nicely maintained gardens but the open air swimming pool was at the furthest end of the grounds and looked pretty rough and uninviting, might be better in the summer months. But definitely recommend - had a great stay.

Beautiful property and exceptional service in a brilliant location. There is nothing I can fault. We had an Executive room with balcony and although it was quite small, it had every convenience possible. Our room (430) had views either way when on the balcony. One was the marina and the other way was the fountain. Thank you Phoenicia for a wonderful stay.

Malta is overrun with tourists, and, believe it pr not, has the worst food in Europe. It is SO bad across scores of restaurants, that it is hard to believe. Hotel placed me in a room next to a three day political rally, concert, and Independence celebration. It was incredibly loud and very crowded. They charged me $1100 dollars for a tiny room with only a tub shower. Stay here at your own risk. Not worth the time, money, or hassle. The locals say that Phoenicia was very good years ago, but Malta is a tourist trap, and I do not recommend staying anywhere near there. Also, the hotel told me food couod be ordered in the lounge, but the lounge said, sorry, we arent serving after 930 PM. Also, I was told by the staff that the music festival was "only for one night," but that was NOT true. There were no rooms they would offer me away from the loud din. Lastly, they were gracious enough to cancel my second two nights without penalty. Malta is a terrible place to visit. Go there and the Phoenicia at your own risk. Malta is a disaster destination with only two good things: 1) Caravaggio painting 2) St Paul was saved there after a shipwreck.

Loved the style, the wonderful staff, excellent breakfast, beautiful communal areas and fantastic location. Bedrooms are fairly simple but very comfortable and well appointed The only thing I’d have liked would be blinds / way of subduing the natural light in the bathroom which was very bright first thing in the morning. A great hotel with a peaceful and upmarket atmosphere. Rooms aren't big but they are clean and comfortably furnished and we had a lovely view of the harbour. We enjoyed the restaurant - good selection at breakfast. The hotel is brilliantly situated just outside Valletta's city gate so easy to walk everywhere.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel & property was grand, serene, spotless and very well maintained. The staff were all so professional and helpful. The location was awesome and so close to everything! We thoroughly enjoyed the relax time by the infinity pool with an incredible view of the marina. The staff at the pool were so friendly and attentive. Wonderful dinner and service at the award winning Beef Bar too. We would definitely recommend this wonderful hotel!!

If you want to indulge yourself do it here! The hotel is about complete service from the moment you step through the door. The doormen are friendly and full of advise, the people on reception are friendly and accommodating, the staff in the restaurants are witty, friendly and clearly always out for giving the best possible service. Training of all staff is clearly good, because I did not find a weak link. That said, special thanks to Rose in the main/breakfast restaurant and Joe on the door! These 2 always smiled, always had time for some advise, always super professional! Perfect ambassadors! The hotel has a super pool, with great views over the harbour and city. The hotel is on the doorstep to Valletta and only some 15 minutes away from the airport. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. And we will be back!

We stayed for 4 nights. Room was nice and clean. Hotel is situated in a very nice area and neighborhood. Beautiful lobby , slow service at the restaurant La and lounge. Walkable to many historic places and restaurants and shops. I had one of the best massage at the hotel spa by Grace , she was fantastic. The only problem during our stay was food, breakfast was ok they need to improve the quality of the food. food service was slow. Dinner was a lot better quality. Overal very nice stay.

The Phoenicia is one of the finest hotels in the world. It is elegant and sophisticated without being elitist. The location is perfect. Triton fountain and the impressive walls of Valetta are right in front of it. The entire city of Valetta is within easy walking distance - we're talking 10 minutes maximum to pretty much everywhere you want to go. It's quiet, unlike other places that are directly inside the city walls. My room was beautiful with gorgeous decorated tiles on the floor. The bed was marvelous and comfortable with a large selection of pillows (which I highly value as many hotel pillows are too overstuffed for me). The multiple dining options were all delicious, especially the breakfast buffet and the weekend brunch (highly recommended). The hotel staff and the restaurants' wait staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Waiter Saroj Gautam was especially cool. There's a taxi stand located right outside the hotel, so getting around the island is easy from here. I was also able to arrange for a private driver for the day through the hotel concierge. Everything about my stay at The Phoenicia was excellent. It's about as close to the perfect hotel as I have ever experienced. Highly recommended.

Simply put, its one of the classic elegant properties in the heart of the old city, but peace and quite once you get into the hotel. Frequently the sounds of cannons maybe heard but added character. Rooms where lovely and we had a super view. Best food at Beef Bar as well ! Great bars and lovely pool !

A beautiful hotel, built in the 1940s, in the great British colonial style, like the Raffles hotel in Singapore or the Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe. The interior is elegant. The service was remarkably warm, helpful and attentive. The overall experience was outstanding, even compared to other five star hotels.

A really beautiful hotel with the most impeccable service. The room was very nice and very clean. It was also lovely to have a turndown service in the evening , not so many hotels do this these days. The spa was really modern and the pool very nice. Breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed drinks in the bar every evening and often the piano would be played.. We were treated to a champagne reception with delicious canapés one evening during which the General Manager welcomed us to the hotel. We absolutely loved staying here it was a pleasure and treat in every way and incredibly good value too for the quality of hotel.
A really beautiful hotel with the most impeccable service. The room was very nice and very clean. It was also lovely to have a turndown service in the evening , not so many hotels do this these days. The spa was really modern and the pool very nice. Breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed drinks in the bar every evening and often the piano would be played.. We were treated to a champagne reception with delicious canapés one evening during which the General Manager welcomed us to the hotel. We absolutely loved staying here it was a pleasure and treat in every way and incredibly good value too for the quality of hotel.

Staff excellent. First class service. Comfortable room with huge well appointed bathroom. Fabulous grounds. Only disappointment was the Club Bar. No more Club Sandwiches when we don’t want a big evening meal

We stayed for 4 nights. Room was nice and clean. Hotel is situated in a very nice area and neighborhood. Beautiful lobby , slow service at the restaurant La and lounge. Walkable to many historic places and restaurants and shops. I had one of the best massage at the hotel spa by Grace , she was fantastic. The only problem during our stay was food, breakfast was ok they need to improve the quality of the food. food service was slow. Dinner was a lot better quality. Overal very nice stay.

A nice pleasant stay with a tip tip staff ! Room is small if you take the cheapest deal ! Spa is good even tough you have to book in advance ! Breakfast is top but drinks or food are quite expensive ! Lovely garden and a superb pool outside

Excellent location to enjoy Valletta. The hotel grounds are amazing. The restaurants were very good. The rooms are clean and the staff is very helpful.

My experience in this hotel is amazing, everything is perfect from the place itself to the staff. The pool and garden are beautiful. However, the breakfast foods didn’t suit me, maybe because I’m asian. And I did experience issue when doing the check out, I did try call to the reception multiple times to ask if someone could come to help me with the luggage but no calls were replied, so I ask cleaners ( 2 cleaners, each one I waited for 30 minutes) outside to check this out for me, I was waiting for more than an hour but nobody came. So I had to carry the luggage by myself. This is the only issue I had.
