Riu Reggae - Adults Only - All Inclusive

There’s little food to eat after dinner I think it should be open 24 hours so you can eat 7-11 breakfast 12-5 lunch 6:30-10 or 11 dinner after franks nachos chili veggie patties, popcorn sandwiches. Pool close at 6pm WHY and it’s a swim up bar so you start drinking around 9am beach is open at your own risk after 6pm

Although adults only, the property is still a "young" property with lots of activities during the day & evening - a little something for everyone. Staff were wonderful and accommodating. Resort very quiet at night.. The pools are shallow (2'5") and not designed for swimming but one can do laps. The pools close at 6pm, which was disappointing but standard with many resorts. The rooms were very clean & well stocked with a variety of beverages. There are 5 restaurants - we tried the steakhouse, but found the buffet was our favorite as it provided a wide-variety of food choices that accommodated all dietary needs (including gluten free!). The beaches were as clean as they could be but there is always people who leave garbage around vs. depositing it in one of the many receptacles. Security patrols beaches at night. The property is across from a strip mall which has a grocery store, pharmacy and other small stores. I would recommend walking over to pick up any toiletries (we learned this the hard way after paying $10US for a 90ml bottle of Listerine at the hotel when we could have purchased at grocery store!). Similarly, if you are looking for the JBM coffee, purchase at the grocery store. One can walk safely to the mall within a few minutes - there is a free shuttle as well, but as with everything else there, nothing is really "free" - we took the shuttle once and were delivered to a gift store employee. Recommend for an all-inclusive experience.

The pool closes two early like kids around and it’s a adults only hotel..and the drinks was not strong enough..was not much entertainment

Most staff were very courteous, swim up bar, beach, food. Bar service was great. Hotel did not have updsted aura, elevator old. Spa overpriced. Fire alarm had guest scrambling at wee hours no explanation no pa system to explain anything no offers for inconvenience. Would not stay again but staff were very nice very approachable

Great resort! Has a great layout with lots of pools, It's right next to sea. Beach is absolutely beautiful. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff were very friendly. They also had lots of fun activities during the day and amazing shows at night. I'd definitely come back here again!

Check-in went smoothly – Shavaun took care of us and was incredibly friendly, answering all of my questions with patience and a smile. The entire staff was attentive and full of warm hospitality. Everyone greeted us with a smile, which made the experience even more welcoming. The hotel itself could use a bit of an update, but honestly, that didn’t take away from how phenomenal our stay was. The food was absolutely delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment – though I do think there’s room to elevate it a bit for a more upscale experience. One thing I would recommend is extending the pool hours. Closing at 6:30 PM felt a bit early, especially for guests returning from day-long excursions. Even just an extra hour or two would make a big difference. The location is super convenient, being close to the airport, and they also offer transportation if you want to explore the area (though it comes with an extra fee). Overall, I had a fantastic time! I’m definitely coming back to Jamaica. Love one!

Great hospitality! Great Resort! Great Authentic Jamaican Food! Great Spa! Great room & location!! My only downside was that the abundant amount seaweed needed to be removed from the beach 😞😞 I only wanted to enjoy the beach and it was very difficult with seaweed in over 90% of the water. I asked the seamen and they stated that the hotel needed to clean it out. Not sure why that hadn’t happened by April 2025. This hampered my visit and my expectation of being in the water. 😞😞

Nice resort ,we stayed for a week with my cousin and enjoyed it . Check in easy and fast ,check out too ,cleaning lady does amazing job every day .Food is not bad ,for a la cart restaurant you need to make a reservation online and it’s ok ,we made it on our first day in resort for the whole week in advance . They have quite zone and party zone .

Baby I went to this resort for my 32nd birthday and had A BALL! Riu owes me nothing! The resort was beautiful! Staff was super friendly ! That buffet hits just when it needs to! Free water sports at the resort, entertainment around the clock from noon to midnight! But wait, then you get access to Riu Mobay and that’s A WHILE OTHER PARTY! I already booked my trip back before I even got my all inclusive bracelet cut off! Definitely 10 out of 5 stars!

My room air conditioner was not working properly. Someone came to fix it twice. The room started smelling mildew and stuffy.

It had roaches in the buffet area

Was there during hurricane Melissa they did not treat us well mentally WiFi & tv was gone water was accessible two times per day 7am to 8am & 5pm to 7pm witch was cold so cold showers you couldn’t flush toilet witch led to a stinky smelling resort also the ac went out the staff hid our liquor away from us mean while riu palace & Montego Bay had WiFi liquor & live dj atleast being their for their guests mentally basically all we had at reggae was food & a room no pool or beach access

The room wasn’t cleaned properly. The floor was dirty and I found hair that I didn’t

My stay at RIU Reggae was amazing! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-notch, everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The entire property was spotless, including the buffet area and our room. One of the best parts was the easy access to the beach right on the property, just steps away from the water. It made the stay even more relaxing. I highly recommend RIU Reggae to anyone looking for a clean, beautiful, and well run place to stay in Jamaica. I’d definitely go back!

The hotel was 24 hours cleaned by staff which was very impressive. Staff on resort was very hospitable and courteous. The food selection was vast. I definitely recommend this resort.

The staff was nice, room wasn’t that clean and food was ok . Mirrors and curtain had stains on them . Even though the hotel wasn’t the best I still enjoyed myself until sat I came back to hotel and ate and the late night snack bar . In the morning I got up throwing up the entire day and horrible stomach pains . My friend I was with had the same stomach pains, diarrhea and we both ate the nacho and cheese from the late night snack bar .We only had a few and both agreed that it taste weirds and didn’t finish but it still gave us stomach poisoning. For this reason I would never stay at that hotel again .

This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in. The noise was inescapable. There's loud music all day—you can't relax or read a book. I literally paid a staff member to turn the music down. The guests are mostly drunk, loud, obnoxious Americans. The food was so-so. A few good dishes here and there, bust mostly mediocre. There's a constant shortage of towels, both by the pool and in the hotel itself. Guard your towel with your life. The dining and pool staff were mostly lovely. We had a few cranky staff members, but you can't win 'em all. I won't be returning.

I stayed at the Riu Reggae for four days and three nights. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a rum punch and a warm, friendly welcome from the staff, which set a great tone for the trip. Rooms: The room was clean but very bare-bones—only the essentials. If you like fancy décor, plush bedding, and a soft mattress, this is not the place for you. The mattress was rock hard, and when I asked for a blanket, I received a very thin one. The overall feel was functional but far from luxurious. Vibe: This is absolutely a party hotel. There are lots of young people having a great time, with nonstop entertainment and music. If you love to party, you’ll be in heaven. If you want peace and quiet, you’ll have to actively seek it out—there is a quieter pool on the property where you can relax, which I really appreciated. Some of my travel companions had late-night noise issues with neighbors throwing loud parties in their rooms. Food & Dining: The buffet was delicious, and the steakhouse was also excellent. No complaints there—the food was a highlight. Other Things to Note:    •   If you book a “double room,” be aware this means two people, not two beds. Some people in my group ended up having to share a bed despite paying for a double.    •   There’s a one-towel-per-person-per-day policy for the pool/beach.

At first I was very disappointed lobby is unimpressive and check in person was very unfriendly. Reserved a basic room and it was less than basic. Rooms need updating and even though it was a basic room I did not expect to overlook a huge cement roof extending outside my patio. Request for different view was denied. So that all was disappointing. So let’s get to the good stuff The rest of the staff was very pleasant and helpful! Wonderful service and the resort was spotless! Pools were smaller than I had thought but it was nice that we could share the amenities of RIU montego Bay

Common areas are very clean. My room left a lot to be desired. Overall decent resort. Crowd pleaser

The Steakhouse and Italian restaurant were booked the entire time we were there. Our room was not ready so they gave us a King size room with an extra bed, it was not ideal for two adults that like their space.

Really nice property. Loved the option of being at the pool or the ocean. The staff members were very nice and accommodating. Wish the bedding came with more blankets since the AC was very cold.

The rooms need a serious upgrade

As a common theme they put three Rius next to each other. This is a calmer one compared to the Riu MoBay. We hang out at Reggae the days we wanted to chill and relax and went to MoBay the days we wanted to be immersed in the party vibe and especially around three a clock it starts building up. Friday night’s Riu Party was a nice experience as well. At the check in there was a minor hick up and the front desk supervisor lady took the initiative and resolved the situation. In the following days front desk staff checked on us to make sure all was good - it was a nice touch. Reggea is a smaller Riu. But per person there was enough everything really and everything is close by - so I see it as a plus. For the ones who want to have a formal dinner experience they have several a la carte restaurants but we were satisfied with the main buffet and its convenience as we like eating little bit from many different things. The quality and variety of the food was very good. The service was better for the most part compared to bigger resort settings. One night we were looking for lemon wedges for our seafood dish and there wasn’t any lemon on the buffet. Upon bringing it up to the attention of the supervisor chef overseeing the dining room, he asked us to go ahead and start enjoying our dinner, he was going to prepare and bring it to us and he did.It was very nice of him. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay for us.

Hello i just recently stayed at this property and everything was good besides the front desk staff. The front staff particularly the women that were there on the 17th of July really needs to work on their professionalism. They were really rude checking in and out. I scheduled a double room and when I got there at 4:00 and had to wait an additonal hour and a half for my two beds when it is what I reserved. The Akee Staff was extremely pleasant and Kadijah and Desmond were rock stars

I like the various food options and the activities but I did not like the customer service at all.

I wasn't able to check into my room until after 5p.m. I missed the dinner reservation. This experience was not at all good at any point. I'm looking forward to hearing from someone soon. Thanks for your attention to this matter

I am writing to formally request a refund and resolution regarding my stay at your property during the recent hurricane. My experience was significantly impacted by poor communication and unclear emergency procedures. During the lockdown, guests were given no meeting points or guidance, leaving us completely unaware of the hotel’s emergency protocol. This created confusion and added unnecessary stress during an already difficult situation. We were informed the hotel was on lockdown, yet the buffet remained open, which was contradictory to the instructions provided. Additionally, I did not receive the bag of food that was supposed to be distributed to guests. The only time communication from the hotel was clear was when we were told that additional nights would need to be paid for, which felt unfair considering the circumstances and lack of support. As of today, I still have not received my refund, despite being told it would be processed. I have a printed copy of my receipt and can provide it upon request. I respectfully ask that you review my case and issue the refund owed to me as soon as possible. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a resolution

I enjoyed my staff but I wouldn’t recommend this resort or come back. For an adult only resort it is micro managed and has too many restrictions. That’s a lot coming from me because I don’t drink or party. My reservation wasn’t honored, my room was ready upon arrival. I wanted to shower and rest, instead I was told to go eat or sit until my room was ready. The room they gave us was a king bed not a double bed with one key for 2 people and the view was the parking lot. My concerns were brushed off and 24hrs later they offered me a room on a 2nd fl with no elevator. They wouldn’t provide us with any shuttle service because we booked through Expedia. The staff was amazing but upper management has to do better. Micro management of straws, towels and hours needs to stop. We’re adults not children.

Poor Communication and Mishandling of Accommodation issue. I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent experience at your resort. Unfortunately, several issues during my stay and at the time of departure left me feeling frustrated and unsafe. On two separate occasions, I informed the front desk that my flight had been delayed and inquired about extending my stay. Each time, I was quoted a rate of $379 per night, which was far higher than expected and unaffordable at the time. Based on that information, I made the difficult decision to leave the resort. However, after I had already departed, I was informed that the rate had suddenly been changed to $89 per night. Had this information been provided earlier, I would have remained at the resort instead of leaving under stressful circumstances. To make matters worse, when I attempted to return—after realizing the resort I moved to was unsafe—the head of security denied me re-entry, leaving me scrambling to find shelter. This was an extremely distressing situation that could have been easily avoided with clearer communication and more compassionate handling from your staff. I am requesting that management review this situation carefully. I believe the way the matter was handled demonstrates a significant lack of communication and guest care, which is not what one would expect from a resort of your reputation. I would appreciate an explanation and any possible goodwill gesture to address the distress this

This was my second time staying here. But this experience was horrible. Upon getting to our room, the ceiling can was rattling and making a loud vibrating sound, bar bottle were empty and loud fan running in the bathroom. Put in service request to have bar stocked, but never happened. Also but in service request for fan 3 times and maintenance did respond, but they never fixed the fan. Had to be moved to another room because we wasn't able to sleep due to the fan noise. I was also there for my birthday and wanted to go to the steak restaurant, but was reservations avaible my entire 5 days there. How is that possible as we checked every day from the first day we arrived. Went and complained to front desk staff and was promised hey would figure out something and get back to me, but no one never got to me. NO response, follow-up or calls as promised. I won be coming back for a third stay based on this experience, nor recommend it as I have done in the past.

Clean quiet resort, delicious food in the buffet, something different always. The workers thats put on the shows are friendly and hard working. Everything close together for easy access. Bar men awesome.. didnt like my 1st room on back of building, facing a wall.. easy upgrade to partial ocean and pool view. Great front desk service

What a fantastic property and wonderful people. The room was comfortable. and clean The hotel had plenty to see and do. The staff was super nice and genuine. No negatives at all. The property itself is a bit far from town. A $20 cab ride will get you to the shopping area, though.

Loved the beach are and the pools, the service and staff were great! Walkable shopping and food around.

I had a good stay, but, check in was delayed and un organized. We took out own bags. We only ate at the buffet because the restaurants were always booked. There was no real night life at Reggae, you have to go to another resort.and no top shelf liquor.and the pools close too early, I believe it closed at 6.however, the buffet was good.

I loved the entertainment each day which was excellent. The food was very good.

Staff was very welcoming and the overall Resort was clean. However, i enjoyed breakfast. lunch was just ok and so was dinner., I think there should be different options for dinner each night. It became a bit much eating the same every day. Secondly, trying to make reservations for the steak house was awful.

Okay, but expected more for the price. If there is a 24 hr bar, there should be 24 hr decent food. Average liquor not available, Jack Daniels, lemoncello, amareto, serving low end local rum etc. Drinks very weak even after asking for doubles. Impossible to get a restaurant reservation as the a la carte restaurants are so small, even with limited options. Stop americanizing local food, make the local food taste authentic. Property was clean, plenty of lounge chairs, buffet had a wide selection, but did get monotonous. Events on stage resulted in loudness through the resort as the stage and building are adjacent. Staff friendly.

Stayed for 5 days. I was expecting more for an adults only hotel. All the pools close at six. I was expecting more Jamaican cuisine but the food was lacking. The steak house restaurant is shared with the buffet part of the restaurant, does not actually have a restaurant area for itself. Bamboo restaurant was disappointing. It is supposed to be Asian inspired but was lacking and it is buffet style also. The Italian restaurant was also a disappointment. The food was not good. The drinks tasted like cheap liquor. The staff was polite and kind
