Best Western Sonoma Winegrower's Inn

Hot tub and pool permanently closed. Bank owns property now. Room had no soap. Exceptionally dirty. Sketchy.

At first, to drive up and see caution or yellow tape completely closing off the front of this site was not cool, having your customer walk all the way around just to find one person at check in?? Really? Your pictures do your site a wonder that is, because your grounds, exterior look, rooms, bathrooms and smelly carpets is the reason you should not be on Expedia and or Hotels.com.. I will never return or consider this Inn, very very badly kept.. My wife and I immediately left and booked a beautiful room in Santa Rosa! I will let my 3rd party understand the importance of not doing business with run down Hotels, Motels, and Inn maybe Hotels.com should get out more often and Exoect and Inspect your advertised sites, I am not asking for anything, We left because we felt unsafe, dirty, smelly and down right old and run down site.. I was not going to spend my weekend/ Birthday at this site.. My wife was discussed the minute we pulled up! So to sum up my concerns, get out and view some of these places that you do business with..or I can just use your competitor going forward .. thanks

I picked this hotel for the pool, hot tub and location. The staff was nice, the room was fine but the pool and hot tub were permanently closed. The hotel apparently was closing at the end of the month to be converted into low-income housing. Thus the experience was disappointing. Breakfast was very disappointing.

FALSE ADVERTISING going on here. On the website it says full breakfast but when I arrived the person at the front desk, said that was when it was owned by best Western and now they have burritos- frozen burritos. When I went to look at breakfast, there was very little. And pretty much junk. Also at the front desk when I arrived, there was a sign that said pool and spa permanently closed. The hotel is very very noisy. I asked to be moved because I was staying two nights and I was originally given a room as close to the freeway as you could get. I was moved a little further back, but then discovered there were some rooms on the other side that would’ve been quieter. I wasn’t given one of those.

Much of the front office and breakfast area were under construction, so it wasn't as we were expecting it to be. Property is conveniently located near I-5, but is in need of the updating that we experienced.

Chose this hotel because the advertised a pool and hot tub, but both were fenced off and the front of the hotel was under construction. Front desk was not very friendly either

Was a continental breakfast we were not told. Frozen foods. Pool was closed the bathroom had mold the room smelled old and moldy. Towels were dirty. Room was never cleaned we asked for toilet paper it never came. This visit was so disappointing this place was nasty carpent was ripped and a big piece was just place to cover it.

Facility was old and in poor repair. Pool was filthy. Hot tub was unusable. Breakfast was meager and poor. I would not stay there again. Do not trust the photos.

Rooms are clean and functional at a fair price. Pool and spa were pretty dirty and the breakfast was little to nothing. I would expect better when there comment leads to something it's not

The bedding was horribly dirty. The room smelled like cigarettes (in a no smoking room) the towels had gross smears on them.. super not impressed. I wouldn’t even let the kids be barefoot in the room.

I never had such an uncomfortable night trying to sleep as the two nights I stayed at this hotel. The bed was terrible, the linens insufficient for the weather, uncomfortable pillows; the whole stay was literally painful. There was visible dirt in the bathroom area, and, because of the flooring (which appeared to be lvp) I thought it would be okay for me to walk barefoot to the bathroom at night. Not so. My feel were filthy the next day, just from the floor, which apparently is not cleaned very well.

DO NOT STAY HERE, BED BUGS!!! I left with Over 40 bites. I did receive a full refund but the manager acted like they didn’t know there was a Bed bug infestation. With as many bites as I got there is no way management was not aware!

The room hasnt been updated since the mid 90s, the tack strip between the bathroom and main room was sticking up and stabbed my boyfriend in the foot. The bathroom was pretty gross in an of itself, the shower curtain had.. questionable holes in it & the shower head was that of what you get in a county jail. The sheets were stained and the pillows you get equate to sleeping on rolled up towels. Bed springs were extremely noticable, and being 5'1 and 150lbs, you have to have a pretty worn bed for me to notice springs. Tried going to the pool and was met with cracked pavement and rotting lawn chairs. I questioned the quality of maintenance on the pool so i decided not to try it out. Asked for a refund or anything accomodating at the desk and the directed me here, which has also given me 0 answers for my $200 1 night stay. I was also accompanied by a nice spider who I let outside. The breakfast was extremely lacking, some packaged food you can heat up in a microwave and some half-edible fruit, you can pair with your stale cereal and warm low fat milk while you sit outside and listen to the extremely noisy freeway right outside your window. This location is very walkable and does have a fantastic sushi restaurant about a half mile away!

Front desk staff was professional, helpful, friendly. The room had the previous guest's socks on the floor at side of the bed, the bed was made bit the pillows were in a pile looking unmade, there was a used towel on the floor of the bathroom crumpled up, the rim of the toilet was dirty but the seat itself was clean, there was trash in both of the restroom trash cans, and used coffee supplies still on the countertop. I was too tired and stressed out to go back to the front desk to complain and just slept in my clothes and didn't take a shower because I just needed a place to sleep. The room looked clean from the doorway, until you got to the bathroom area and checked the side of the bed.

The room was not up to standards. There was BMI left in the toilet. That means there was someone that had taken a poo in the toilet and it was left in there. There were spiders multiple times crawling in the bed and on you when you’re sleeping. The picture below is the spider smashed on the sheets of the bed, causing blood stain.

The wall plug didn't work, the toilet was clogged, and it felt unsafe.

Keys did not work, get 2nd set, the same. She unlocked with master key and we are stuck in the room. If we go out, we have to get ger to unlock the room.

Wifi was out. Otherwise great hotel.

The grounds were not clean, stains on the sidewalk from spilled liquids and grass areas outside units were weeds. Our room lock was broken where we were unable to open the door and had to call maintenance, thankfully it was not an emergency or we may have been trapped. Staff was very nice.

The bed was comfy but we were in the very back facing the freeway and the noise was more than I expected. Perhaps in another room it wouldn’t be so loud. I know for the future to request a room in another area.

Alot of road noise

The property and staff were very nice, however, their Wi-Fi doesn’t work (both times we stayed there), and cell reception is bad in that area. Would be nice if they fixed this.

Typical of best western, renovated just enough to make it look nice in photos, while the bones are falling apart. The hot tub wasn’t working, and it was FILTHY. The sign that alerted guests that it is broken had clearly been up for a while, so enough time to update your website. The room is ok, at least it was clean and had new furnishings. The fridge was either not working or wasn’t turned on/plugged in. I get trying to conserve energy, but it takes a while for a fridge to cool, so hardly helpful when a person is only here one night. The staff was pretty non-plussed. Another typical expectation of best western. Overall, it’s ok.

Young ladies at front desk were wonderful.

A good stay overall. Would have been great if the woman checking us in had been friendly. We arrived at 1:15 in the morning which I understand is not the most pleasant, but we definitely felt like she would have preferred that we never booked the room or showed up. The breakfast was kept well-stocked and had a moderate number of choices including waffles. The room was clean and comfortable. A lttle friendliness and this would have been a 5. Other staff were fine.

The first impression by phone was not positive: I introduced myself and asked about early check-in as we approached the city. Immediate response was a definite No, not until 4. She. Old have been friendlier but was the same upon meeting her in person—same answer claiming she was “totally booked”…the lot was empty but 2 cars and 2 housekeeping employees we saw. She did not even take my name. I cancelled a second night online. We came back at 4 and Solomon, the desk was very nice and spoke to us in a helpful & friendly manner. It’s unfortunate some Clerks are not happy with their job.

The room I checked in to wreaked of stale cigarette smoke and other odors that I couldn't identity. The bathtub matt had green mucus stuck to it and finally the refrigerator was broken. I went to the front desk and the person immediately apologized and assigned me a new room. She was very helpful and caring. A+ on service. All in all, a very nice place to stay.

Super shady staff and horrible customer service. I should've listened to the Yelp review left from a month ago about the housekeeper coming into the room for no reason. That should've been a sign that this place is shady. We stayed over the weekend for the Sonoma Balloon Classic and checked out on Sunday at 11am. We got home at 5 and I realized I left my outfit in the closet hanging on my own wooden hanger that I had brought to the hotel. I called at 5:10pm and the young lady I spoke with said housekeeping hadn't turned anything in but to call back in the morning between 8am and 9am. I called on Monday morning at 8:42am and spoke to Marianne. She then put me on hold and spoke with their head housekeeper who said nothing was left in the room and they hadn't found anything. I said I definitely left my outfit consisting of a black velvet jacket, black top, and black skirt, so I asked if I could leave my name and number so they could check again and get back to me. I expected them to check and call me back soon but I didn't hear anything. Being anxious about finding my outfit, I called again at 10:42am and 10:45am but no one picked up. At 12:01pm, I spoke to Marianne again and she said that she was too busy on a Monday answering phone calls and responding to emails to check for me. I called again on Tuesday at 1:08pm, and Marianne said that she checked lost and found and nothing was there, and nothing was in the room. She suggested that someone in my group took it.

We really appreciated everything. The staff was exceptional… 😊 thankd

Not a very customer oriented stay. They were pretty empty and wouldn’t check us in early without charging extra. I’ve never had any hotel ever try that. For sure a below average stay as far as nice. I’d rate it maybe a 4 out of 10.

The front desk staff was super friendly and got us extra blankets for our room. The room was clean and comfortable, and I actually really loved the pillows! The hotel is super close to a lot of restaurants, which was nice. I was sad that the hot tub and pool were permanently closed. Also, our microwave sparked when we tried to use it, so I probably should have reported that... 🤔 Otherwise, we had a good stay. It was a great value for the money.

Location is pleasant. Easy freeway access without the freeway noise. Lots of shopping and dining options nearby. Tasteful vineyard landscaping on the property. Friendly staff at the lobby made check-in very easy and pleasant. The rooms were very clean. Bathroom too. I recommend this stay.

Sonoma Winegrower’s Inn has potential thanks to its peaceful location and friendly staff, but it needs some upgrades. It’s a decent choice for travelers looking for a good home base to explore the Santa Rosa and Sonoma areas with food and shopping options nearby. Really close to the casino, too!

Free breakfast provided in the dining room at the front desk lobby. Coffee, water, apple juice, milk, orange juice. Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, Monterey brand breakfast burritos, yogurt, cream cheese, bagels, English muffins, assorted cereal boxes, hot cocoa & oatmeal packets, bananas. Good assortment but limited as in no hot breakfast :( unless you heat up the food! Clean room. Very Convenient location. Hotel is a maybe 5 minutes away from practically everything.

Love staying at this place, but next time will be requesting a room away from the freeway. Being a weekend it was rather noisy.

When I stay at hotels I always look forward to the complimentary breakfast. This hotel had far by the worst selection/service I ever experienced. They didn’t even have the waffle bar as shown on their hotel website. I would compare their breakfast service to a gas station spread.

Stayed one night and it offers everything we needed for a short stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Nice hot breakfast with freshly made waffle, pancake, egg patties, meat patties, bread, bagel, muffin, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, cereal, milk, soy milk, yogurt and more.

The hot tub jets were broken. The pool and the hot tub were really gross, they needed to be cleaned. The tv remote wouldn't work. The breakfast was not good. They had frozen burritos and hard boiled eggs, along with the normal cereal and bread. The waffles were the only decent thing being offered.

Great place to stay! The hot breakfast was wonderful! So impressed with the helpful woman who made our waffle and pancakes! Would definitely return!
