Free breakfast is delicious. Food options range from traditional to special plates. Pub definitely has the English feel. Outdoor tables are perfect to have a pint and enjoy the sun. The staff puts five star hotel chains to shame. They are friendly, attentive and professional. Definitely staying here again.

Parking is a big issue if you arrive any time. The breakfast was very good and the service too. Our room was painted bright white/the bathroom had seen better days and was very small and could have been cleaner (door did not close). Aldbury is a lovely village. If I stayed again I would request one of the more modern rooms.

A good one night stay in a welcoming pub with very good staff. The food was also good and nice well kept real ale. Lovely location too. We parked and were not charged (so perhaps the surcharge mentioned in Expedia is not accurate). Expedia also states in room amenities that towels are not available. They were and this entry is also not accurate.

Lovely pub with fantastic food. Breakfast was just as good. Annex building with farm/field view. I travel a lot for my work but hate the giant corporate places. Your money is better spent in the community you’re working in. Definitely be going back.

Lovely tiny village with a small pond with ducks out front. Pub downstairs. Nice breakfast. Beautiful flowers on the patio. Really deep bathtub in the room. 😁

A lovely old inn with all of its charm and foibles. Tiny rooms in a historic building. Very nice opportunity to wake up in a tiny village filled with character and see a field full of sheep outside the window. If you are looking for serene English countryside this is the place

We were somewhat disappointed with the offering. From the outside it looks really nice and the situation overlooking the village green and duckpond is idyllic. The parking which is on the road in front of the property can be problamatic depending how busy the pub is. The room we had was out the back in a converted barn, up a flight of metal stairs which could have tricky had it been raining. The room was small and very basic. The mattress on the bed was awful and gave absolutely no support. The bathroom was extremely small and just about adequate, not big enough for two to use at the same time. We ate in the pub meeting friends who lived close by. The menu was good and varied, and the food was very good. The service was also good, although we did feel a little rushed to order desert. Breakfast was also disappointing although the offering was good. We both had poached eggs which at best were luke warm and the mushrooms were missed off my wife's order. Overall quite disappointing and really not value for money. Would we stay again, I'm afraid not.

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Great staff everyone was so friendly. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a treat. Ate there on first night, food and service was 1st class. No faults and would higy recommended

The food was fabulous and so was the service at dinner. The room was so dated and so dirty it was awful. The curtains were ripped, the shower flooded so I moved the cover over the drain and oh my goodness, it had never ever been cleaned! The floor of the room was so out and sloping that the bed kept moving. No headboard so the pillows kept falling off the bed too. There is a large green light above the door which is so bright, we got not sleep. We tried to cover it in clothes and a pillow but still so bright. It was so dusty in the room we could write our names in it! Breakfast was nice but one of our party was gluten free and they put the gluten free toast next to the standard bread. Has such potential but the basics just aren’t being met at all. Disappointing.

The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good. The room was very basic -grubby carpets, worn furniture but more importantly very, very cold. The radiators were off and a window open when we arrived. We turned the rad on but the heating appeared to go off around 5.30 but had made little impression on the temperature in the room anyway. We went out , came back very late and the room was so cold that it took us a couple of hours to warm up in bed. When we went down to breakfast at 8.30 the heating was still not on. Showering and dressing in the cold was not a pleasant experience.

Nice village, quite location however the room was a disappointment. Curtains were tatty, furniture & bathroom dated and the grouting needed a good scrub. The green night light on the emergency exit was bright and lit the room all night. Fortunately an eye mask cured the problem. The restaurant was busy and obviously popular, the food well presented however the single veggie option was a little bland. The highlights were the staff who were delightfully helpful and attentive. Unfortunately I just cannot understand how this place is a 4 star premises it's definitely not.

This was a very welcoming stay, ideal for walking in the area. The facilities were clean and bed very comfortable. Although the catch on the bathroom door was broken and the decor was a little old, the shower was warm and the towels big and fluffy. On the whole we were really pleased. We would definitely come here again. The staff were lovely.

We only stayed for one night, but definitely plan to return. Staff were welcoming (so were other customers) and helpful, the food was very good indeed and with great seasoning. Our room was clean and comfortable. The village itself is picturesque and perfect for a quiet getaway.

Stayed here for a planned wedding that got cancelled due to Covid, late doors, with the post wedding meal to be here as well, and so pleased we decided to stay here still. The bar and restaurant are lovely, the staff are all really friendly and polite, we didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast was lovely and nicely presented, and a pleasingly large pot of tea for 1. The room was comfortable, clean, with a lovely bed, nice shower and very peaceful. Aldbury itself is small, but so worth visiting. A beautiful old church, village pond with stocks, and there looks like plenty of walks can be had. We will be returning and staying.

Easy check in and friendly helpful staff throughout. Really peaceful picturesque location and yet close enough to Warner Bros studios. Allowed me to work in the bar after breakfast even though it was supposed to be closed.

Fabulous pub in beautiful village. Staff and service excellent, our room was superb . Couldn't fault it. Very highly recommended

We were somewhat disappointed with the offering. From the outside it looks really nice and the situation overlooking the village green and duckpond is idyllic. The parking which is on the road in front of the property can be problamatic depending how busy the pub is. The room we had was out the back in a converted barn, up a flight of metal stairs which could have tricky had it been raining. The room was small and very basic. The mattress on the bed was awful and gave absolutely no support. The bathroom was extremely small and just about adequate, not big enough for two to use at the same time. We ate in the pub meeting friends who lived close by. The menu was good and varied, and the food was very good. The service was also good, although we did feel a little rushed to order desert. Breakfast was also disappointing although the offering was good. We both had poached eggs which at best were luke warm and the mushrooms were missed off my wife's order. Overall quite disappointing and really not value for money. Would we stay again, I'm afraid not.

Easy check in and friendly helpful staff throughout. Really peaceful picturesque location and yet close enough to Warner Bros studios. Allowed me to work in the bar after breakfast even though it was supposed to be closed.

Lovely pub with fantastic food. Breakfast was just as good. Annex building with farm/field view. I travel a lot for my work but hate the giant corporate places. Your money is better spent in the community you’re working in. Definitely be going back.

We only stayed for one night, but definitely plan to return. Staff were welcoming (so were other customers) and helpful, the food was very good indeed and with great seasoning. Our room was clean and comfortable. The village itself is picturesque and perfect for a quiet getaway.

Lovely country-side inn. Excelent service and good food. They basicly only serve english breakfast, but that seems to be the common denominator at most inns/hotels in england. The dinner options are great and the local beer is really good.

Nice village, quite location however the room was a disappointment. Curtains were tatty, furniture & bathroom dated and the grouting needed a good scrub. The green night light on the emergency exit was bright and lit the room all night. Fortunately an eye mask cured the problem. The restaurant was busy and obviously popular, the food well presented however the single veggie option was a little bland. The highlights were the staff who were delightfully helpful and attentive. Unfortunately I just cannot understand how this place is a 4 star premises it's definitely not.

Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. The property is a common stopping point for local hikers during the day and for the locals in the evening. Room ceiling was high enough but the hallway and stairs to the room are meant for shorter persons.

Second stay here within a short time. Really nice room the first time but not so much the second time. This most recent room just seemed less comfortable. The bathroom was situated beyond a second bedroom and the tea/coffee room beyond that. Just seemed a bit odd. Anyway, will stay again but must remember to call and say l don’t want the triple room.

Room was insanely hot so barely slept at all. Asked for a suitable fan but didn’t have one. Room above the bar and people sat outside drinking past 11am. Restaurant was good on the evening but wasn’t offered breakfast on check-in.
