Days Inn by Wyndham Mackinaw City - Lakeview

Found a piece of excrement floating in the murky hot tub. Pool area is filthy and in need of maintenance. Staff was friendly and accommodating, but building is clearly showing age. Room was comfortable, view was pleasant, beds were clean.

The floor in the room was dirty. One of the sheets had stains on them. The head of the shower was falling apart and one of the lamp shades was dirty and falling apart. Just walking around the room in socks or bare feet we got dirty. Pool had piles of dirt on the bottom and hot tub was cold. The pool was warmer than the hot tub.

The pool area was gross. Very outdated, dirty...tons of spiders and probably enough chlorine to kill someone. Rooms were decent. Needed some TLC and they could definitely be cleaned better.

The pool was in terrible condition. The hot tube was disgusting and unusable. It should have been closed!

No elevator, dirty lobbies and stairs

I never leave reviews, but don’t be fooled by the facade you see online. This is a motel and not a hotel. The room was very dirty and outdated. The shower head was moldy and the towels were stained. The sheets in the beds were also stained. The pool and hot tub were severely cloudy and there was only a hint of chlorine. Paint was chipping everywhere you turned.

Place is old and outdated-website says free breakfast-it’s pre packaged muffins and free coffee-our tv didn’t work-I called the front desk they told me to check all the connections behind the tv instead of sending someone up to fix it-checked the connections and tried to call the front desk back to tell them it still didn’t work and they didn’t answer the phone-waited until the next day and went to the front desk in person-finally hit it fixed

Old and run down! The pool and hot tub were not connected to the motel and it was disgusting and dirty! Things floating in them. Rooms old. Carpet disgusting. I will never stay here again. Rooms were cold. Air leaked right thru the door as there was a space between jam and door. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Nice hotel, it has pretty lake view. But its not beach front, there is a ferry company with docks and a parking lot in front of it, the photos during booking makes it appear that there is a game room, there is not, their continental breakfast was coffee tea and muffins. We stayed right after a holiday weekend and most of the facility was clean, however the hot tub looked pretty gross and had soooo much sand in the bottom i only put my feet in

Dirty hotel

Checked into our room, and after unloading everything we discovered the lack of housekeeping! The floors were dirty black. I complained to front desk and he gave me a mop, still black! I asked for cleaner and rags, still black! FD offered to move me into another room but after I inspected it, it had filthy floors as well! I ended up going to Family Dollar and spending $30 in cleaner to get the flooring clean. The hotel is extremely dated! It smelled moldy and the sofa needs to go to a landfill as it smelled horrible! I am pretty generous with leaving housekeeping a tip if the room is clean but not this time! They need to properly train there staff or hire new ones….

Room was so dirty. Honestly if it wasn’t so convenient for us I would have canceled and went somewhere else. Sheets underneath first sheet were stained and had hair all over it. Room had dust everywhere!! Floors…tables…literally everywhere. I won’t be staying here again. Staff was very friendly and so nice but just not a clean place to stay.

Clean room, nice bathroom… stayed for a hockey weekend

Hotel is very outdated and dirty. Needs a deep clean in the rooms. The needs are very uncomfortable. The bottoms steps going upstairs are rotten and feels like they might give out any time. The sliding glass door to the balcony does not lock in so the neighbors could easily step over the railing and come in. The shower drains very slowly and I was standing in 4” of shower water.

Sand in the beds and on the floors

The room smelled musty, we found small mold spots on the walls. The shower curtian was ready to fall off the wall. I had to search for the lobby, because there are 2 different buildings. Our morning coffe, sugar and creamer were hard in the packages. outside was dirty and spider webby, several outdoor lights didn't work. It was October but these were not Halloween decorations. Wasn't impressed. I will say the staff was friendly.

Avoid this hotel at all cost. It was filthy from the bedsheets (top cover and bedskirt) to the mold in the bathtub. The walls had brown and red all over them and the room hadn’t been touched or remodeled in decades. When bringing up concerns and requesting a refund, I was laughed at and only offered room service. The room was far beyond room service.not only that, Expedia was little help and recognizing how unsafe and unkept the hotel was. I will never rebook through a third party.

Dirty. Dusty. Room had spiders and webs around door and light fixtures. I can’t believe we stayed.Gave us something to laugh about I guess.It was so late we weren’t in the mood to object and were momentarily entertained by the spiders moving up and down on their webs in the room. Lamp shade by the bed spot stained. The bathroom was interesting.box toilet paper fixture falling out of the wall,wall paper peeling off.Counters coming apart at the seams with moldy areas.Everything felt wet from humidity(toilet paper to bedsheets).I find out later that it is expensive probably by 2x booking through hotels.com. The AC unit was dirty. Eyes watered and noses dripped after it was turned on.Noticeable stains on the sheets at the base of one of the beds and chair. Bathroom door edge looked like maybe it was kicked in too many times or some rat chewed through it. It was so late by the time we checked in (midnight) that we decided to just smash up the spiders we noticed and tolerate the rest until morning. We brought most belongings back to the vehicle in the morning and went for breakfast at a nice place elsewhere for a couple hours before coming back to use the toilet and leave before check out time. Hotel maid or person, unlocked and opened the door in the morning when we were getting ready to go, seemed surprised, quick sorry and closed the door again. Perhaps my standards have become too high over time, I don’t know, but I know I have stayed in much nicer motels for less than I paid.

Bed sagged in the middle. We kept rolling down to the middle. The screen on the balcony door was ripped so we couldn’t keep the door open for fresh air. The door jam kept getting stuck and it was hard to open. A couple of electrical outlets didn’t work. The small refrigerator was balanced on top of a resin lawn furniture table. The wall paper above the patio door was peeling off the wall. The bathroom door was cracked and coming apart at the bottom. We were on the first floor and when the room above us was occupied they walked around and it sounded like they were stomping around and the noise kept us awake till they went to bed around midnight. The furniture and tv stand appeared to be from the late 1970’s. The place was fairly clean but pretty beat up. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Beds were not comfortable. TV’s are inexpensive and only have speakers in the back, and the back of the TV faces neighbors wall. So we heard neighbors TV loud and clear all night. Won’t stay there again

The bathroom vanity was broken. Shower head way to low .

When I booked this room, there is lakeview which not really lakeview. No microwave but in the website which microwave should include. There's bug in the room. Wifi is not working.

Room 218 needs major work. The only lock on the door was the one by handle. The upper was broken. The door jam was broken. The wall paper was coming off the wall. The bathroom curtain rod was coming off the wall

The “Lakeview” was not like the pictures. Problems with tv and WiFi. Good location, shower and comfortable bed.

Many things I like. My room was very clean- staff was nice- check-in was simple. You will hear the ship horn in your room. My TV is terrible. It would go in and out. The volume also goes in and out. There is a major delay in the remote. I probably wouldn’t care but there were some big sports happening that I follow.

No ventilation in room only a window heater/ac unit which was noisy

Overall staff was very friendly and helpful. The only breakfast offered is coffee and muffins, which we didn’t have access too because the lobby was closed at 7am. There were only three outlets working and the lights and alarm clock were non functioning. Only two overhead lights worked. No fan in the bathroom. The pocket door to the bathroom wouldn’t close all the way and the entrance door closed ok but had a slit in it so thank goodness it didn’t rain. Bring an extension cord if you have any medical needs. Most hotels have them next to the bed but not this one. There was no place to connect a medical pump and no place to charge a phone but the outlet for the hair dryer. Sorry I didn’t think to take pictures or video. We only stayed because it’s right next door to the Arnold ferry and you could walk there.

The AC was very loud. The floor was coming up in some areas and the wallpaper was peeling.

Location is great, our room was not ready for check-in (the kind of room I booked had not been cleaned). We did not receive new clean towels during our 4 day stay, so we had to keep snagging towels from the pool room. We never received any room service (bed making/toiletries refilled/trash emptied ect)

We really enjoyed staying at the Days inn and the staff was so friendly with our room thank you again

Pet friendly location right by the Mackinaw ferry. Highlight if the hotel was Keno working the front desk. A great young man that went out of his way to make our stay great!

When I checked into the hotel I received a phone call about 30 minutes later that i needed to come home due to a family emergency. I immediately went to the front desk and told them my situation and that I needed to check out early due to a family emergency. The man at the desk told me that he would talk to his manager about what to do since I was checked in for a 2 day stay and to call back tomorrow. I called the hotel the next day and told him about my family situation again and asked if I could possibly get a refund of my stay since I was only there for 30 mins before having to leave suddenly. The man put me on hold for 30 seconds and then came back on the phone and told me that his manager said no he could not issue me a refund because I had already checked in regardless of my family emergency. Needless to say, I will never be staying at a days inn again.

We really enjoyed our stay...the room was spacious, quiet and clean. The staff at check in was very kind and helpful.

All of the staff was amazing. The housekeeping staff was especially great. They were willing to help at any moment.

The maid service were very rude. We had a lower balcony room and they threw a bunch of dirty water over our balcony and splashed us. Then they threw a bunch of food over for the crazy pint of seagulls to eat. Our stay was August 14 2024 though August 17th

We could not check in until after 9:30 pm due to their internet being down. A female came from another hotel to assist. She was extremely agitated and very rude to the girl who was trying to check us in. She was verbally rude to us. In this competitive city, the hotel owner should do something about her before she runs other potential customers off. We won’t be the only ones who won’t stay here again due to her unprofessionalism. We thanked the poor desk clerk who had to tolerate that behavior. The room itself was good, but we won’t patronize places that tolerate people in charge treating staff and customers poorly. Our money is better spent elsewhere. Do better.

The hotel is conveniently located between the free way and downtown with plenty of shops and restaurants. The ferry dock is within walking distance. The housekeeper LaVerne helped us out as we were on an extended stay. We were on a Lighthouse vacation and it was a blast.

Expedia listing and actual property were far from each other. Game room was non-existent. Breakfast was packaged muffins in a basket. The door nor through-wall AC sealed, with obvious gaps. Room floor was dirty. Asked for extra blankets and was told “no chance”. Extra towel was provided like I was going to steal it with demand of room number. Complementary shampoo/conditioner was used prior. Front office staff were more concerned with each other than helping guests.

The facility met my expectations, room was comfortable and had necessary amenities. Coffee and refrigerator. AC good. Location to Lake Huron was a short walk. It was a pleasant surprise being in close proximity to ferry. The price seemed fair. I would definitely return and stay .

This is a no-frills hotel right on the water. It was affordable for our one-night stay on the way to another location, so we were happy with the accommodations. The bed was comfortable and the view was spectacular. Also, an easy walk to restaurants.

We enjoyed that the property was close to the lake and a ferry pier. It would be better if the property had it's own beachfront instead of the parking lot that exists there now. Otherwise, it's possible to walk to the property next door and use their beach.

Decent stay, but hotel needs some updating We stayed here mainly just to sleep, since we were out most of the day visiting a nearby city and UP. The room was okay—clean enough and served its purpose—but the hotel could use a little updating. Some wallpaper was peeling off, and the balcony really needed power washing due to bird droppings. As for breakfast, it was disappointing. They only offer muffins and coffee, and instead of a full breakfast, they give you a coupon for a restaurant where you still need to pay around $20.99 per person. The staff were polite and check-in/check-out was smooth. Overall, it’s okay for a short stay, but don’t expect too much.

The property was ok. Needed updating but the floors were nice rather than old ugly carpet. Beds were very comfortable. Slept great. Not much of a breakfast, just coffee, hot chocolate and muffins. Should probably say there is no breakfast. Was able to buy ferry tickets right at the front desk and the ferry was located right next to the hotel which saved on daily parking which I believe they charge now at the ferry. I think it was $40/day, but I’m not positive. The hotel does not have a beach but does have Lakeview rooms. Seemed a bit overpriced for what you get. Seems that it could have been just a little bit cheaper. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel room was pretty standard. It was nice that the toilet was in a seperate room from the vanity. The room was clean-ish but the bed had sand between the top blanket and flat sheet. The pool was alright but paint chipping and laying in the bottom edges around the pool. They do have a hot tub though! Prime location for fireworks on the 4th of July!

Towels were worn out and they were kids size! Breakfast was NOT as mentioned ‘continental’ Just muffins, yogurt and coffee!! The only good thing was it was next to the ferry.

Breakfast was coffee and a packaged muffin, pretty bad. Bed was ok. Safety lock on door broke, air ran continuously and was loud. We were in room 222, need to cut the two trees down so have a much better view of lake. Was walkable to the ferry. Enjoyed watching the geese graze on the grass. Overall it was ok.

I was told Breakfast is part of reservation but while checkin they said just coffee and muffin is breakfast.

The features described is not like what you really see in person. One of the feature described is breakfast but they only offer muffins and coffee.
