This is an excellent place to stay. I managed to find the hotel easily by using google maps. I was able to park my car in one of the couple of empty spaces available (however I visited in the end of September, I'm not sure if I would've found a space in peak time, unless there was additional parking capacity I didn't spot). I was greeted by name by a lovely and warm staff member on reception, who took the time to provide a tour of the hotel and where my room was located, along with providing some local hotspot tips and recommendations. The room was lovely and clean and just as the photo showed (but could do with a re-paint). It came with excellent Cornwall tea hot drink options and some very useful complimentary ear buds (which was useful given there was a storm that night, and you can hear the lighthouse, which isn't too far away). The hotel is right on the coastal path with stunning views of the sea and lighthouse, and access to a private bay in low tide. The food in The Terrace restaurant in the evening and for breakfast was truly incredible with excellent service at all times - I would highly recommend eating here at least once! There's a great snug area to make the most of the sea views and enjoy a drink/book/games which was a lovely touch. All staff were incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe staying here and would definitely recommend to others.

The welcome from the start by Jo and Molly was amazing. The staff were attentive and the rooms were very well decorated and thought out. The food is amazing from breakfast to evening meal. If you are a foodie then this is the place to stay and then the views and walk down to the bay is just breathtaking. I can’t wait to stay here again for my next Cornwall visit.

We had a most enjoyable four night stay at the Housel Bay hotel. A fantastic location with gorgeous sea views from the Terrace restaurant and patios outside. We had a fairly small but perfectly adequate room on the 2nd floor (lift worked perfectly) with a country view, which we thought was very good value. Not much space to hang clothes but OK. Bathroom was spotless and shower was great. Delicious breakfasts and all the staff were helpful and charming. We had one evening meal there, which was delicious if rather pricey, The only fault was that the plug on the washbasin was faulty and needed replacing as the water just ran away. I did report this, and hope it will be repaired for future guests. Thoroughly recommended overall, and we may well make a return visit.

Booked an Ocean View (cosy) room for 2 nights. The website describes the bathroom as '1980s style' - which was acceptable in theory, but it was poorly maintained: bathroom door creaked and could not be closed; no bath chain on plug, and unable to pull plug; weird curtain under washbasin that was coming adrift from wall; toilet on a 8cm platform which was awkward, towel rail and toilet roll holder both loose.; numerous holes in walls were poorly filled and painted over. Shower pressure was weak, and no hot water this morning. Bathroom needed painting. Had booked a table for dinner at 7pm, which Receptionist confirmed. But waiting staff didn't have a table for us. Offered 8.15 or eat outside. Had to ask 3 times where our dessert was, it finally arrived at 8.47pm. Hotel sits on the coast path, with lovely views from Terrace dining room and bedrooms.
