The suite was clean and comfortable, but we had a disappointing experience with security. On our first night, we woke up to find our car had been hit in the parking lot. When I called security, they said the cameras don’t work well and couldn’t provide any footage. At night we also heard drifting sounds in the parking lot, which felt unsafe and scary. The hotel has signs posted everywhere stating they are not responsible for damage or theft. If something happens, you may end up with no proof. Be cautious and consider staying somewhere with better security.

Clean, recently renovated suite with kitchen and living area. Fantastic shower, nice pool/jacuzzi area and friendly staff. The only minor negative point was that where we stayed (CV Motor Lodge) is a separate building from parent company Carson Valley Inn/Casino, and we needed to go to the registration area of Carson Valley Inn to get our room card keys for CV Motor Lodge, which was ~quarter mile away.

Enjoyed Katie’s for meals very much. Pool too cold. But enjoyed hot tub view. Shower head barely ran and tub plug broke- cable kept glitching. Beds comfortable and linen nice. Some did not follow smoking rules at motor lodge. Butts on sidewalks and doorway entry. Odor was bothersome at times. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The room looked good at first for what we were expecting. The shower was a bit dirty. Could see dirt on the walls from either a previous person's stay or a dirty cloth. One of my kids left a Gatorade one the ground before bed and by the morning the entire floor was covered in ants and we were on the second floor. I have had better experiences in the actual hotel.

We were only there for the night. Unfortunately someone had backed into the parking space infront of our room and when they left there was a faint odor of exhaust. The grounds were clean and the room was ok but the carpet felt like sand or gritty when you walked barefoot. All in all it was good.

The tub is so old that the porcelain is completely warm ohh in spots. The drain cover is off. The front door must be lifted berfore the dead bolt will close. The door is warped so badly that I could see the outside walk way when the door is closed. The bedding is lumpy. I found an earwig in my t-shirt after putting it in their dresser drawer. And there were ants on and around the sink.

Have stayed here before - was in the unit adjacent to the gas station on the other side of the casino so much quieter. Exterior access, upstairs unit facing the mountains. Nice view. Odd thing is that the showers had body wash and shampoo but no conditioner. Not a big deal, but unexpected.

Wi-Fi did not work in the room. I’m sure that we had booked a non-smoking room but when we got to the hotel, they had us booked in a smoking room. Fortunately, we are able to contact Hotels.com and get it changed. Also, the room had ants on our second morning. Ants had found some cookies that we had and were covering our ice chest.

There were ants in the bathroom and by the sink. The only food we had was in the Fridge. The Manager said they were having problems with the warm weather. So you spray and get rid of them. That never happened. The internet was incredibly slow and the TV signal would cut in and out.

We stayed in the motor lodge. It was clean and comfortable. Had twin beds that were fine. The room needs to be updated - it's showing it's age. No real complaints. Kind of like a Motel 6.

Horrible check in staff. Nothing but attitude the entire time. There was no reason for it. Truly horrible customer service. Rooms were gross, I ended up not staying there, dirty, outdated, could hear the person next to, smelt like weed. Just an awful experience especially gor the price

The price was good, the property is quiet, and the room is planned out well. Our keys did not initially work, and they sent someone over to bring us new keys. Extremely polite staff. Remember to request the first floor as there is no elevator. Check-in is at the main casino, so you must drive there to pick up your room keys.

The check in area is too far away from the room. We had to walk almost 2 blocks to get from CVI to the motor lodge. We are old and’s can’t walk easily. You should have check in at the motor lodge or a shuttle service to and from the lodge. Our keys didn’t work when we finally got to our room and we had to call CVI again to tell them. We couldn’t walk back to the registration desk to get new keys. CVI did send engineering over to open our door but there was no place for us to even sit while we waited. Otherwise the room was nice but terribly inconvenient. I am surprised CVI would run the hotel that way.

Our first introduction was not being told where the Lodge is compared to the casino hotel. The front desk checked us in, never asking if we knew where the Lodge was. After wandering around for 10 minutes we ended up back at the front desk and were misinformed that we could take the elevator there. Well, the Lodge is a separate building on the other side of the parking lot and a gas station! It’s not even walking distance with luggage! Although the room was very spacious and tried to be modernized, it fell short. Upon arrival we found the kitchen trash can was full and a used towel still hanging in the bathroom. The combo microwave/convection oven were too complicated to use—no directions. The curtains weren’t hung properly so they didn’t close and the porch light shined over the bed all night. Not a good experience

Front desk was great! Helped out of a sticky situation. I stay here a lot, I was shocked at a mattress situation which I should have reported. All and all I love this place and I hope they will keep midweek prices down

We were not told in advance that check-in occurs at the casino, which is about a half-block up main street. Other than that, this hotel is good. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and it's quiet.

Comfortable room. It is motel, but you can use casino amenities Casino is on the same parking lot 150 yards away. So for the price it is great deal.

We booked off Hotels.com in the Motor Lodge. It advertised all the amenities that are available at the Casino but the lodge is located a block away so not convient to use the amenities. The room had been nicely renovated.

Maybe it was in my confirmation email, but I didn't realize that I had to check in at the Carson Valley Inn registration - which is about a block away. Since I got dropped off at the motel, I ended up walking the block to the Registration desk and then walking back to my room. Otherwise, the property and room were great.

Hotel is located in a quaint older town surrounded by stunning mountains. Rooms are nothing fancy, but they are incredibly comfortable and very quiet. Close enough to a casino to walk but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet.

Good hotel, place as described. No oven though. Only microwave and stovetop. Clean and quiet. AC worked great, we stayed during summer. Close to LakeTahoe. Able to drive up everyday.

Just take note that there is a small "motor lodge" which isbnot attached to the main casino, I didnt realize that when booking but it was still very nice and clean I just didnt notice that when booking.

I was very disappointed in the steak house. All different types of seafood and a steak ordered. The food was so so and the potatoes au gratin were grayish on top and unappetizing. We will not eat there again. Also the pillows and mattresses were uncomfortable. I have been staying there for years and the Motor Lodge needs some renovation. Would have reserved the casino rooms but they were already booked.

I have stayed at the property dozens and dozens of time in the past. What a disappointment this time. Was looking forward to a nice quiet dinner with my Nephew that we happened to be in the same area. We live 500 miles from each other. We were looking for a filet and lobster dinner with drinks. The posted hours at the CV steak house shows closing 9:30 We entered at 8:45. Told they closed the kitchen that we could go to the coffee shop. When I brought up the posted hours of operation the women said it depends on how they feel and decided to shut it down for the night. The next day is there closed day. I brought this complaint to the front desk and asked for a manager to contact me. Left them my phone number. I heard nothing from them. Very disappointed with their rudeness and lack of care for someone that has been a staying here over that past 20 years. Thankful that there is a Dominos Pizza right next door. I did stay at the J’s Resort for the 5 days before coming here to the Carson Valley Inn. I highly recommend J’s Great staff. Great food and beverage at killer prices, and a newly remodeled Casino and Resort. The staff at the food establishments are very welcoming unlike the Carson Valley Inn.

I came to Minden for a funeral. My 2 night stay was very comfortable and met all my needs. I liked that I had resturant options inside the lodge, so I did not have to go out for meals.

It was super easy check in (at the main inn) and the food and atmosphere was great. The room was spacious and comfortable for what we needed. Great stay and would come back again.

Enjoyed Katie’s for meals very much. Pool too cold. But enjoyed hot tub view. Shower head barely ran and tub plug broke- cable kept glitching. Beds comfortable and linen nice. Some did not follow smoking rules at motor lodge. Butts on sidewalks and doorway entry. Odor was bothersome at times. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Food was very good . the fine dining restaurant was excellent and service was great. The bar next to the restaurants was not very user friendly. The check in desk was very accommodating and helped make our stay much better. Room service very good. We had a great time.

The room was clean the floors looked clean, but after my four-year-old grandson walked barefooted on them. His feet were black and he was upset that his feet were dirty. The property was in good condition. The staff was friendly. Don’t plan on staying there again even with the dirty floor.

Liz at the registration desk is AMAZING! We wanted to shorten our stay by one night and were getting the run around from Hotels.com, she was able to fix it for us. She made sure we were well taken care of. We had a kitchen suite at the motor lodge, it was perfect for me, my husband and our 2 adult kids. Plenty of space and a full kitchen to save on meals and snacks. The room was clean and recently updated. I left my prescription glasses and didn't realize until we had driven 9 hours home. Housekeeping found my glasses and shipped them back to me. Katie's Country Kitchen in the main building is probably the best restaurant value around. Great food and reasonable prices. Everyone we encountered was extremely helpful and kind. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed in the Motor Lodge. We had to drive over to the Casino to check-in. Trailer parking between casino and motor lodge was decent (8 long pull through spots, I believe). Room was good size. Some new flooring and furniture. Older bathroom. Good value for the money. Would stay again. Convenient store, gas station, Domino's all within easy walking distance
