The property is a beautiful old buikding which sits high off the ganga river, and the views are amazing. The room was spacious and clean, with a balcony so you sit and relax watching world go buy.. The monkeys eould come and sit , but they can not be trusted. My only issue was not having a working Tv and tge bar fridge needs to be updated. Overall the staff and hotel are amazing.

Property is a challenge to get to. Cobblestone lanes very overcrowded and dirty neighborhood. When leaving property had 2 porters carry our bags out and we tipped them 500 rupees. Well worth it. Loved our veranda overlooking the Ganges until the monkeys show up at dusk and dawn. The food in the restaurant was the best butter chicken we have ever had. Monkey stole my banana from me the first morning. Definitely an authentic Indian experience. When leaving the hotel we got talked into going to a silk showroom. Would have been better if you go on first day of stay if you plan on purchasing custom wear. The route to the silk showroom was a maze and claustrophobic for Canadian standards. So many people squished together. Way out of our comfort zone. We definitely collected good stories from this stay.

All Good at Sri Oskar Palace. Since it was not high season My Aircon no-river view was complementarily upgraded, to A Riverview room complete with a great shared balcony. They were really good at getting me from and back to the airport with the taxi service. My only issue, and it is not the fault of the hotel, was the aggressive monkeys. They would come onto the balcony and at first, be cute. I made the mistake of letting one sip some beer I poured for it on the top of the wall. It made a great Social Media post, but the next day, two monkeys joined me up on the balcony, and I didn’t have any beer!! They were not happy and acted out towards me… I Didn’t feel totally safe up there after that… Don’t give ANYTHING to the monkeys! Have breakfast away from the edge on the rooftop, because monkeys jumped on our tables and made a mess and broke glasses all over the floor…

We had an excellent stay. The room was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The location cannot be beat—very convenient to ghats, 5 min walk to evening aarti, yet tucked away and very quiet. Beautiful roof terrace for breakfast or just sitting and enjoying the view. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful.

Experiencia desastrosa. No se puede llegar con vehículo y si llegas por la noche como fue mi caso resulta imposible de encontrar. La publicidad es engañosa, ya que tan solo 3 habitaciones tienen terraza al Ganges. Tampoco tienen desayuno buffet. Te sirven en la terraza cochambrosa un café, una tortilla, dos tostadas y un pequeño zumo asqueroso en brik. La relación calidad precio una estafa. Si vas te arrepentirás.

The best part of this hotel is undoubtedly the staff. It is situated in a prime location along the Ganges, offering excellent views of the river from the sit-out dining area. The hotel staff were incredibly considerate and moved us to a river-view room on the second day. We also had a qualified guide who was very patient and helpful in taking us around the city. However, accessing the hotel can be a bit challenging as there is no direct approach. But that’s also part of the charm of Varanasi—you get to immerse yourself in its unique atmosphere every day.

フロントスタッフ、親しみやすい屋上のレストランスタッフ、ほか皆さん親切に接していただき快適な滞在ができました。 施設設備などに対して価格は高い気がしますが、ソフト面で補ってくれています。 お湯が出たり出なかったりだったのは残念ですが。 場所はガンジス川に近く便利ですが、最初にここまで来る時は細い路地を歩き、なかなか辿り着くのに時間がかかります。 Googleマップがあればなんとかなるとは思います。 新市街にあるような高級宿ではありませんが、ガンジス川近くの宿としてはおすすめできると思います。

Property is in an excellent location. The staff is helpful and arranged tours with great guides. They facilitated transportation services and even carried our luggage the 15 minutes it took to get to automobile roads. The property was dirty. Our first room had ants in the bed and the AC did not work. They were gracious enough to move us to a new room with working AC. But the room was just as dirty. The walkway to the hotel was littered with trash. But the location to the Ghat area was perfect. As a side note this was an all male staff.

Non fatevi incantare dalle foto: la struttura fa veramente schifo. Stanze sporchissime, terriibilmente maleodoranti e ben lontane dagli standard dichiarati nei siti di prenotazione. Noi avevamo prenotato una suite con terrazza vista Gange, i 20 mq dichiarati non erano nemmeno la metà. Lenzuola sporche, animali (insetti e topi), bagno con cavi elettrici penzolanti e isolati solo con lo scotch avana, il bagno un buco schifoso con un secchio per fare la doccia, la terrazza privata in realtà è una veranda lercia in comune con altre stanze e l'accesso è da una porticina con chiavistelli. Il ristorante sul roof vergognoso e per arrivarci devi fare delle scale con tubature sul soffitto che perdono acqua a cascata. Avevamo prenotato 2 notti, ma siamo scappate alle 6 del mattino dopo la prima, ciò nonostante la struttura ha mandato una falsa ricevuta che attestava che avevamo fatto il check in regolarmente dopo una fantomatica seconda notte. Fortunatamente l'assistenza di Expedia (un plauso al servizio di supporto offerto su tutta la vacanza) è riuscita a farci avere il rimborso. Un'ultima cosa: la struttura non è accessibile per le auto. Il taxi vi lascia sulla strada e poi dovete camminare nei vicoli strettissimi per circa 10 min, anche se è vero che l'hotel manda due uomini a portarvi i bagagli. Struttura da evitare assolutamente.

The property is more run down than photos suggest, but still comfy. I was a bit let down by the condition given the high ratings, though everything’s relative. Important: the hotel isn’t reachable by car, rickshaw, or even pedal rickshaw—you have to walk 10–15 minutes from the closest drop-off. Contact the hotel for porters; they’re essential. We visited during monsoon and didn’t realize this, so we dragged rollerbags through narrow alleys with 2” of water, cow dung, and buzzing scooters. Backpacks are much easier. GPS can be off in the alleys—using two phones or pausing until the dot jumps works. Staff was great and responsive, though one pushed tours and boats too hard. Food was good, and the location is epic—awesome Ganges view from the balcony. You don’t need a guide for the burning ghats or aarti; Google Maps gets you close enough even with a few wrong turns. Touts in Varanasi (not the hotel) are the worst I’ve seen in India. Many lie to get money—ignore them like locals do. Foreigners look like walking ATMs. Key rule: no photos at the burning ghats without family permission. You don’t need to pay or have a guide to be there. Rain leaked through the balcony doors and brought a few ants, but not a huge issue. Airport taxi via hotel was ₹1100—beat-up car, no AC. Uber was ₹945 but dropped us 800m away in the rain. Hotel porters help a lot. Recommend booking transport through the hotel but ask for a better car.

They were doing construction and downgraded us to a shitier room with no refund. They were working all day and making alott of noise. The hotel is a construction site, most of the rooms were torn down and there was rubble evrywhere. They also stole 100$ out of my laundry and the room was dirty and full of mousquitos. The property is a beautiful old buikding which sits high off the ganga river, and the views are amazing. The room was spacious and clean, with a balcony so you sit and relax watching world go buy.. The monkeys eould come and sit , but they can not be trusted. My only issue was not having a working Tv and tge bar fridge needs to be updated. Overall the staff and hotel are amazing.

All Good at Sri Oskar Palace. Since it was not high season My Aircon no-river view was complementarily upgraded, to A Riverview room complete with a great shared balcony. They were really good at getting me from and back to the airport with the taxi service. My only issue, and it is not the fault of the hotel, was the aggressive monkeys. They would come onto the balcony and at first, be cute. I made the mistake of letting one sip some beer I poured for it on the top of the wall. What a great property, near the ghats and Kashi Viswanath Temple, room views of the Ganges. The staff was fantastic, great food from the kitchen. Very walkable in the heart of Varanasi. The hotel hosts were amazing, arranged a private guide and a day package to visit different temples and sites around the city, made my stay even more amazing... Highly recommend this hotel in Varanasi!!!

Highly recommended. Very close to river and many rooms have river view facilities. Hotel staffs are very well behaved and cooperative. Only problem is the location. Property is a challenge to get to. Cobblestone lanes very overcrowded and dirty neighborhood. When leaving property had 2 porters carry our bags out and we tipped them 500 rupees. Well worth it. Loved our veranda overlooking the Ganges until the monkeys show up at dusk and dawn. The food in the restaurant was the best butter chicken we have ever had. Monkey stole my banana from me the first morning. Definitely an authentic Indian experience. When leaving the hotel we got talked into going to a silk showroom. Would have been better if you go on first day of stay if you plan on purchasing custom wear. The route to the silk showroom was a maze and claustrophobic for Canadian standards. So many people squished together. Way out of our comfort zone. We definitely collected good stories from this stay.

We had an excellent stay. The room was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The location cannot be beat—very convenient to ghats, 5 min walk to evening aarti, yet tucked away and very quiet. Beautiful roof terrace for breakfast or just sitting and enjoying the view. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful.

This is a good affordable hotel right on the Ghats. It cannot get more convinient to visit the various sights on the Ghats, take a boat ride and go to the many temples than staying at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It is a perfect place at a budget price that is safe, convinient and hospitable.

Relación precio calidad excelente!!! Esta muy bien situado si quieres estar cerca de los ghats..... Una zona completamente tradicional de varanesi (hay zonas más nuevas, depende de cada viajero). El restaurante del hotel excelente!!! Son muy amables y accesibles para el check-in y el check-out

All the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to Neeraj, Nandu, Hanuman and the Manager Sanjay. Excellent hospitality by all of them. Food was healthy and delicious.

Property is a challenge to get to. Cobblestone lanes very overcrowded and dirty neighborhood. When leaving property had 2 porters carry our bags out and we tipped them 500 rupees. Well worth it. Loved our veranda overlooking the Ganges until the monkeys show up at dusk and dawn. The food in the restaurant was the best butter chicken we have ever had. Monkey stole my banana from me the first morning. Definitely an authentic Indian experience. When leaving the hotel we got talked into going to a silk showroom. Would have been better if you go on first day of stay if you plan on purchasing custom wear. The route to the silk showroom was a maze and claustrophobic for Canadian standards. So many people squished together. Way out of our comfort zone. We definitely collected good stories from this stay.

Experiencia desastrosa. No se puede llegar con vehículo y si llegas por la noche como fue mi caso resulta imposible de encontrar. La publicidad es engañosa, ya que tan solo 3 habitaciones tienen terraza al Ganges. Tampoco tienen desayuno buffet. Te sirven en la terraza cochambrosa un café, una tortilla, dos tostadas y un pequeño zumo asqueroso en brik. La relación calidad precio una estafa. Si vas te arrepentirás.

Highly recommended. Very close to river and many rooms have river view facilities. Hotel staffs are very well behaved and cooperative. Only problem is the location. It’s hard to find the location for the first timer. But the hotel will send one staff to guide you if you call them. Foods are very good. Overall we all were very satisfied.

We booked the hotel because of the position overlooking the river and because it had a restaurant on the roof. When we checked in, our room was upgraded and we had a great size room with a shared terrace overlooking the river. Couldn't fault the view. The room was swept but we felt it could do with a deep clean. Unfortunately the rooftop restaurant was being upgraded and not available. The hotel suggested we either ate in our room or used the restaurant of their sister hotel, Palace on the Steps. We don't come on holiday to eat in the room, so we went to the sister hotel and the restaurant was great. Food lovely and the staff very helpful. After the following day though, we got back to the hotel to be told there was a problem with the water. Monkeys were blamed, but we were offered a bucket of water to flush the toilet and told we couldn't shower. Obviously we were not happy about this. It was very hot and a shower was essential. We discussed it and went back to reception to say this wasn't acceptable, but we'd be ok with moving. The manager offered us a room in the Palace on the Steps. So we had to pack up and move around the corner. The room was lovely. Better than the original one. (Still in need of a good scrub but better). The staff there were more friendly and obviously the restaurant was open. We were much happier here and would recommend this hotel over the first.
