This is a historic building, so there are steps. The wonderful proprietor helped us get our luggage up them. It is a small hotel, so if you need no steps, book early. The breakfast is expensive with many home cooked delights. The location was in the thick of things and we felt very safe

This property was great. It is centrally located. You could walk here from the train station in about 20 minutes. Many restaurants and attractions are close. This was an amazing stay and the hotel staff was amazing and very helpful. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Just to note that the staircase to the upper floors is a spiral staircase and a bit difficult to climb with big suitcases.

The hotel location is excellent in the center of the city within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Cars are not allowed in the area so if you're driving the closest parking garage is about 10-15 minute walk to hotel. The hotel does not have an elevator, if your room is on the 3rd floor you can ask for assistance with your bags or request a room on the 1st floor. Emmanuelle the owner was very helpful with restaurant recommendations. Had a lovely stay at the Garland.

Lovely European hotel. The building is 400 years old so the layout is a bit quirky. While there is no elevator, the rooms have all the other modern amenities. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. It is centrally located. We walked to the hotel from the train station and from the hotel to the river cruise dock. There are rooms on the ground floor, but our first floor room was up a spiral staircase.

Small boutique facility in central Avignon that is close to a central square. Most things are in walking distance. Pleasant room with a good shower (an older building so it may take time for hot water to get there), Great breakfast! Very nice people with very good restaurant recommendations. No 24 hour reception. Parking is a bit distant. If on an upper floor, the stairs are narrow and spiral - ask for a ground floor room if you have mobility problems. We would return if in Avignon again.

Wunderbar gemütliche Zimmer, erstklassiger Service, ein sehr freundlicher und kompetenter Hotelier - unbedingt seinen Empfehlungen folgen! Für uns war’s das Optimum. Das Hotel liegt in der Fussgängerzone, Parkmöglichkeiten sind entfernt und nur mit ca. 5 Minuten Fußweg zu bewältigen. Im Hotel gibt es keinen Aufzug, bei körperlicher Beeinträchtigung unbedingt vor der Buchung klären, ob ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss verfügbar ist. Das Frühstück ist klasse! Jederzeit wieder.

The owners were very kind, welcoming, and informative. The building is old so keep that in mind—the door to the bathroom creaks and there is no elevator. The windows are soundproof but the walls are not. The city streets were filthy, especially the back alleys. No English channels were available, but there were German channels.

Excellent location. VERY clean and rooms were fantastic! Hotel managed by a couple who were very gracious and helpful. While it’s true that there is no parking nearby (if you have a rental like we did), it did not dampen our enthusiasm or enjoyment of the place. The hotel is steps from Palais du Pape and wonderful restaurants and shopping. I would most certainly stay there again and highly recommend.

Central location with very helpful front desk. Room had better than usual storage for clothing than what you normally expect from Europe. And they had a mini fridge in the room! I’ve never had that in any European hotel before. Wonderful place!

What a find! This small boutique hotel is in the heart of old town Avignon and is perfect for exploring the city, dining, and just walking the streets. The owners, Emmanuelle and Stephane, are delightful and VERY informative. The room was exceedingly clean and had a great shower. The beds are very comfortable and the shutters blocked the light and street noise. Absolutely the only downside, in our opinion, is the cost of breakfast. Having said that, it was all home made and delicious, with many choices to choose from. This was an excellent choice for us and we’d stay again, for certain. I should note that we were on a Viking cruise after our stay and the cruise dock is an easy 12 minute walk, downhill with luggage.

A true positive experience here. Our bathroom was modern and large with a complete walk-in shower (no half-walls as one can experiences in Europe) and plenty of bathroom shelf space. The room itself was intentionally decorated traditional and not as modern as the bathroom. The room had air conditioning, mini fridge, lounging chairs. Room was comfortable and located centerally within the walled part of the city. Best part was Stefan who runs the place who is a true advocate for Avignon and gave up front recommendations of walking paths, things to see, etc… a really a true joy!

This was a very nice location, conveniently located close to restaurants and Palace of the Popes. The breakfast that Emmanuel provided was deciduous. Our room was quite tiny as well the bathroom. But it was tolerable for a few nights.

Stayed in the 2-bed apartment, and it was perfect! Very spacious and modern accommodation. I appreciated the separation of the toilet and the shower in separate rooms -- helpful when more than 1 person is staying in a room. Nice kitchen if you want to have an easy meal inside. Great location! And I loved the patio area to sit outside. I only wish I could have seen the rest of the hotel as the photos look very inviting!

Excellent location right in the heart of the historic city of Avignon. Stephan and his wife were extremly helpful with everything from recommending restaurants to pointing out and providing directions to all the incredible sites to see in and around Avignon.

Although we were only at Garlande for one night, it was a delight to stay in such an attractive historical hotel. Emmanuelle was a very welcoming host and saw to all our needs promptly. She provided a local map and recommended some nearby restaurants. She also provided a wonderful breakfast taking care to inquire about any food preferences. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a quick stop, only stayed a night. Overall we loved the hotel. Clean, friendly & helpful, it has old charm, great location. Walking distance to attractions & restaurants. Highly recommended.

Lovely European hotel. The building is 400 years old so the layout is a bit quirky. While there is no elevator, the rooms have all the other modern amenities. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. It is centrally located. We walked to the hotel from the train station and from the hotel to the river cruise dock. There are rooms on the ground floor, but our first floor room was up a spiral staircase.

Small boutique facility in central Avignon that is close to a central square. Most things are in walking distance. Pleasant room with a good shower (an older building so it may take time for hot water to get there), Great breakfast! Very nice people with very good restaurant recommendations. No 24 hour reception. Parking is a bit distant. If on an upper floor, the stairs are narrow and spiral - ask for a ground floor room if you have mobility problems. We would return if in Avignon again.

The owner was amazing in helping my stay be a seamless experience. Very quaint and quiet provincial french styled hotel. He happily organised a Taxi for me including one that was large enough for my oversized luggage. Would and will be staying again.

Excellent location. VERY clean and rooms were fantastic! Hotel managed by a couple who were very gracious and helpful. While it’s true that there is no parking nearby (if you have a rental like we did), it did not dampen our enthusiasm or enjoyment of the place. The hotel is steps from Palais du Pape and wonderful restaurants and shopping. I would most certainly stay there again and highly recommend.

This was a very nice location, conveniently located close to restaurants and Palace of the Popes. The breakfast that Emmanuel provided was deciduous. Our room was quite tiny as well the bathroom. But it was tolerable for a few nights.

It was clean. It is well located. The proprietors are helpful. It is cramped and has a spiral staircase. Breakfast is expensive and inadequate. No shower gel and thin towels.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Garlande. Stephane and Emmanuelle were amazing hosts and provided superb advice on dinner recommendations, places to see in Avignon & Villeneuve de Avignon, and best ways to get around the city. The breakfast is largely homemade, and was a delicious way to start each day. We highly reccomend staying here for any length of time while in Avignon!

What a find! This small boutique hotel is in the heart of old town Avignon and is perfect for exploring the city, dining, and just walking the streets. The owners, Emmanuelle and Stephane, are delightful and VERY informative. The room was exceedingly clean and had a great shower. The beds are very comfortable and the shutters blocked the light and street noise. Absolutely the only downside, in our opinion, is the cost of breakfast. Having said that, it was all home made and delicious, with many choices to choose from. This was an excellent choice for us and we’d stay again, for certain. I should note that we were on a Viking cruise after our stay and the cruise dock is an easy 12 minute walk, downhill with luggage.

Wunderbar gemütliche Zimmer, erstklassiger Service, ein sehr freundlicher und kompetenter Hotelier - unbedingt seinen Empfehlungen folgen! Für uns war’s das Optimum. Das Hotel liegt in der Fussgängerzone, Parkmöglichkeiten sind entfernt und nur mit ca. 5 Minuten Fußweg zu bewältigen. Im Hotel gibt es keinen Aufzug, bei körperlicher Beeinträchtigung unbedingt vor der Buchung klären, ob ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss verfügbar ist. Das Frühstück ist klasse! Jederzeit wieder.

Great location, great staff. Not the best location with people who have mobility issues moving around outside the hotel. In general cars are not allowed within the gates of the city, so uber is out. Most things are walkable., but if you have a walker- the cobblestone streets are rough!. Place was super clean and the furnishings were updated!

It is a very typically French in it's decor and style. The hosts were gracious, helpful and very knowledgeable. Their English was excellent. It’s was a great location for walking but it’s pedestrian only so you have to walk a bit with luggage. Also no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. We were on the third floor so a bit of a work out. If you want cute and small this is perfect. We would stay again for sure.
